Imam Qasim Ahmed is the resident Imam of the Houston Masjid of Al-Islam in Houston Texas. He is the founder and director of the Islamic Learning Institute Inc. where numerous students of Arabic and Islamic studies across the country have been taught to read and translate Qur'anic Arabic. He has developed and teaches workshops and seminars that expound on such topics as Qur'anic Arabic, Islamic teacher training, educational curriculum development, family and community life, and youth and future leadership. His propagation and educational endeavors have taken him to well over two hundred cities in the U.S. and abroad.

Imam Ahmed studied at Georgia State University and the University of Chicago and he teaches Al-Islam for comparative study on two college campuses in the city of Houston. He is an author of several books and tapes on the subjects of Al-Islam and Qur'anic Arabic and he is the developer of the "YOU CAN Learn Qur'anic Arabic Correspondence Course". An active participant in economic and community development, Imam Ahmed is a member of the 'Coalition for Good Government" and the Houston Chambers of Commerce.

Imam Ahmed is a member of the Muslim American Society Shura Committee and a long time supporter, student, and aide of Imam W. Deen Mohammed.
