Establishing Concerns
in Their Order of Importance

By Imam W. Deen Mohammed
That's what they asked the boxers. They want to know if he got his conscious back again. What's your name? Where you live. What's your mother's name? She asked all those questions. Okay, he's ready. Fight. Go back, let the fight start right there. So for us, I would say like that woman Bo, Derek, they called her a perfect 10. And what was her conscience? Showing her body, going out on the beach, jumping in the water. She loved water. Just stayed in the water. She wasn't jumping in the water. She was having somebody pour water on her. Bo Derek right? Just too much water. I guess there was a Noah flood in her life.
So here, six letters in psyche. Okay, so what is psyche? Psyche. What is this - soul? Your psyche is your soul. Another name for the soul, that's all. The psyche of the human being is the soul of the human being. Now, the soul relates to what? To the heart, according to the learned people in this religion, to the heart first. So if you've got soul -six. Six by this description and you got senses - five. You put them together, you get 11, right? Five senses in your soul. So five senses responding to the soul. You get 11. Now if I'm not teaching you anything, then that's okay.
Church starts at the 11th hour, five senses don't work with five senses to make sense with it. Prophet Muhammed says take charge of five before five dis-establish you or deprive you. Take charge of five before five deprives you or dis-establishes you. And he says, take charge of five to do what? So that you establish yourself right? Watch your days of health and prepare for the days of sickness. Watch the days of poverty to prepare. So you won't be poor, right? Watch the days poverty of good living so you won't be found without doing the days of starvation. So he goes on to tell us how we should use common sense. That's all the prophets doing, telling us how we should use common sense. So if you don't use common sense, your five senses, the same five will dis-establish you.
How now does the five, or do the five senses dis-establish us? When they become just emotional feelings relating to the soul and not relating to themselves, with the senses. Senses should relate to senses. You understand? But when they relate to just soul, soul, these senses become not senses, they become impulses. That's all just impulses, just pure impulses. So you begin to behave on impulse. So, I'm telling you, you believe it or not. In saying that the church started 11th hour, the slave master who designed that for the religious people are saying that they won't have the ability to do anything but sense and respond spiritually. Spiritually. See, soul is the spiritual entity in man, the psyche is the spiritual entity in man. That's why I say Adam was made in heaven. He was made in his spiritual entity, in his spiritual makeup, in his spiritual essence, et cetera. So when you relate five to six in this language, you are relating the five senses to your soul. Now, if my five senses respond to my soul, when will I ever become a man?
Let me explain to you what I mean. Here is when you are relating five to six, when you say, I'm going do this because it looks right to do, I'm going to do this because it sounds right, I'm going to do this because it feels right. That's not right, that's not right. You are letting your senses relate to your soul. Now how does the Bible tell us if that's wrong. When G-d made the man of the woman, I mean the woman of the man and then the woman became his downfall, right? The woman there is who? psyche, and the man there is who?
I can't think of his name in mythology. Psyche and the man was in love and they jumped in the water together. I can't think of his name. It's in the language of the European English people. Anyway, psyche is the female part and Eros, is that his name? Eros, is the man and Eros and psyche were two mates. And Eros represents what the five and psyche represents the six. And he let the six now decide for the five. And when the six decides for the five you go wrong. The five should decide for the six and five should not go right directly to the fifth. Five should relate to five. Five should relate to five and then to six. And that equals 16.
Now if you get a 15, you're in trouble again. So that's what brought on anarchy. Five relates to five, then again the five we get 15 and that's what we have now among these know-it-alls. They use five sense to reason. This ten is nothing but the reasoning process. They use five sense to reason and they use another five to guess and they end up with 15. So reasoning and speculation, right? Reasoning and speculation. Reasoning and speculation. Reasoning and anticipation. Reasoning and guessing. You're not following the rule of science. You're not following divine book. You're just on your own 15. I don't think they called the good age, "Sweet 15", I think they say "Sweet 16", yeah, sweet 16.
And I think that man who promised us gold and all that, he said, he was going to turn us back to 16. And in the here- after none of you'll be old, all of you will be turned back to 16. Well I don't know if he knew what he was saying or not, but I'm glad the Lord used it anyway. So let's take this off now, we don't want these figures to confuse us here. We are going up to 66 in a minute. Alright, so it's a psyche now is the sixth part, sixth part because isn't it in our soul that we make decisions? So it's not just five, it's six.
It's the five and free will five and free will. Allah says lost is he who neglects his soul and successful is he who develops his soul, who spends on his soul for his soul's development. So here you have soul, and the speaking of the soul here there must be a conscious there or at least ability to make decisions. The soul here is not spoken of as something that makes decisions and the heart is symbolic of that. The heart, the human heart. Human heart is symbolic of the soul. Things register on our soul. And when things register on us too heavily, we have a heart attack.
So man has a thought that the heart must be symbolic of his soul. It must register the soul. But in higher studies in the religion we find that the soul is not the heart, but the heart is the first medium to register the soul. The heart only communicates what the soul, what goes on in the soul. The first one to communicate it and then the second one to communicate is the brain. So we don't say the heart is the soul. We say the heart is the medium that expresses what's in the soul or registers, registers what is in the soul. And then lastly the brain is the medium that registers what is in the soul. Alright? So the heart is the medium then, but it's associated with the soul like the brain is. Now, Adam was a man created with five senses and it said that he created them on the sixth day. So I'm saying that this is soul too. Soul. Soul with five senses, heart is the medium, soul, five senses, heart is medium. And if heart is telling your soul or trying to communicate what a soul needs, right? And it heart is making judgment, oh yeah, I'm going to marry her, she's pretty and she likes me. That isn't enough, ain't enough. ......likes me, that ain't enough.
Whose your mama? Who raised you? Let me see how much of their influence (is) in you and let me see if I like their influence. Let's see if our lives are compatible. You may be oh so pretty and you may love me crazy and put me in hell. Yeah, that's what we're talking about. Thats six, that's 6,see 6. But this same kind of mind where in the senses are responding to the heart for a sixth principle here, is responsible for us for having what I described earlier as a foolish heart and just wastes our good life instead of establishing it for a future. You see? Okay, now if you come to the 11th hour, that means what? That man now has five consciousness plus one, 11 or five and six 11, right? Five and six, 11. So this can be good and it can be bad. If It is like....., and then there's one which means now you have what? 1, 1. 1. responding to one right? One responding to one consciousness that is sense responding to another consciousness that is sense. But if you have 11, if you have 11 by this combination five and six, it's no good.
It's no good. Why? Because here you've got the five senses, responding to senses combined in the soul with the emotionality, with emotional makeup to be nothing but pure soul. Nothing but soul ability. That's no more than ability........ with that ability. They have a soul and he just depends upon you being nice and depend upon everything to survive right? Until they can manage for itself...... is another. And they're really making a mockery of us when they call us soul brother. And when they show us that program, "Soul Train", learned people are laughing at us. They say they're only soul. Soul means undeveloped persons. Soul means a person that hasn't developed, no development there no development, only the spiritual essence, no development. And Allah says and the soul must be built up, substance,...... what substance is. And the Lord that has proportioned it.
You know what the world's doing and I hope that you resent it and hate it enough to get on your own feet. That's right. Now, again, let us turn to this psychology to show you that they're nothing but child, children devilish and they're children. Anytime a man makes his consciousness psychologist and........ history and the psychology. Your pen is just the ability to strength and respond. But he has psychology, that means he has scientific......... So you sense and respond and I will manipulate your senses and decide your life for you.............. That's what he's saying. But let us look at him. What are you boasting of? You're boast of animal sense. Psychology is animal sense. Animal sense. Animal has to depend upon that because he can't articulate, he can't communicate clearly and Allah says in the Qur'an, "Isn't there a sign and that .......has ............ and made you articulate?" Now what excuse you have to be using animal strategy on man when he has given you intelligence, rational mind and ability to articulate the speak clearly. How come you can't communicate with your fellow man?
How come you have to sit here now like a 6-year-old baby or like an animal? Yes, it's no good. I hope you have gotten something out of that. The first concept in mythology of a new word or relatively new word for higher sciences and our old idea of the rim of the soul was up in the sky. And it was thought of as mass, a great mass of water, a 7 ocean way up in the sky. That's how it was....... And in mythology they have the Babylonian god, I think his name is........... He .................. He ............. it.
And cutting it in half part of the water falls down here and the rest of the water remained up there. What is this idea in mythology talking about? No more than the idea we have right here now, the separation of church and State. The church ruled or the spiritual community ruled over the people from up above their heads. There's many description ....... that bring about a separation and create secular life and spiritual life. The spiritual life is up. Everybody's spiritual. Everybody go to church. Don't they speak of up even when they're feeling good, they ain't got to be talking about G-d, they're feeling good and happy. ................all girl, everything goods up.
Separation of church and State, that's only meaning of it. Now don't you know that they have their own people oppressed? Gonna let you go in just a minute now. Oh no, we've gone an hour overtime here. I didn't intend to do this. Well we bring it to a close. They had their own people oppressed. The Europeans kept their own people in slavery and it was Martin Luther and other radicals in their language, ....... against their order and brought about the separation of church and State. Why, the church was oppressing the masses of the people. So if you want to continue to rule like that, you going to take the world. They had a right to do that, but Al Islam, the Qur'an is not designed to hold the masses......... we should separate religion and State. Any Muslim doesn't. He's breaking the rule of this religion. He's not a Muslim.
Cannot do it. Not and be a good Muslim. No indeed. Alright, they put in their history book of the secular world over the church. The crown of England is under the foot, .............the symbol for freedom. A more primitive drawing than the secular freedom now, in the more primitive drawing. .............The Crown of England is under the foot and stars upon the head and light........ So what are they saying? You kept Jesus from us. Now we've got Jesus...... life in the secular world. If you want to continue to be oppressors, you take the church of England and go.
The Bible says that he was seen and the moon was under his foot, crown of stars upon his head and his garment or his dress, this is the Bible, this is the Bible, shows the glory of Jesus, the victory of Jesus Christ, the Jesus Christ, not in one person but Jesus Christ in society. That the Christ life will eventually bring people to this vision where they'll have the knowledge, the stars will be in that crown. What......... the body of water with all the stars in it. The stars in his crown, psychology. Somebody said, right, I'm glad I got it with me.
The stars in his crown is psychology. The robe that covers his body shall be of the sun and the sun is social science. Science is his garment that he wears. Social science is the science we use to weave culture. Okay, so that's his garment that he wears saying the moon shall be under his feet. What is the moon? The moon is his darkness with his own independent mind, won't even come out in the light of the world. ......... says and the symbol in the signs. That's what it saying. And to get you to see if this ain't such a good world. A world that keeps the masses in line is a beast, a deceitful world. Fire is supposed to be used as Abraham did. What did he do with the sheep? He sacrificed it. He killed the sheep ................to the people. ....keep the sheep. Again, it's what? This? Psychology, that's what it's ,sheep is symbolic of psychologist. If you look at some of your pictures, the ancient ..... of science, some of the pictures of sheep........ all in wool, skies to show you, to tell you what, he's a heavenly creature. And the sheep was sacrificed by the G-d of fertility, G-d of fertility sacrificed her sheep. Why must the God of fertility sacrifice her sheep, her lamb. ........was like the church ruling over the masses and not bringing out their potential.
So sacrifice.........the God of fertility will realize her glory. Her glory is what? Fertility, grow. Grow...... She had a lamb as her inheritance. That was her ........ inheritance. So she said, no, not my baby................ It means death to the rule of that psychologist, the rule of psychologist is put to death. .........for the sake of free education. Free education. That's what Abraham stands for. Free education, teach everybody praise be to Allah.

That is peace be unto you. Praise be to Allah, guardian evolver, the cherisher and sustainer of all the worlds. Him to assist us. We put our complete trust in Him and we do not break..........and I bear witness that He alone deserves prayers and worship. There is nothing like unto him and I bear witness that Muhammed is the universal and last in the great train of the prophets. Allah Most High, that is G-d almighty. We don't like to use the English term God because of the bad spelling, but sometimes for sake of communication, we have to use the English word God so people know that we are talking about ........ one.
Anytime it's brought to your attention, you have to have some kind of problem with that spelling. Yeah, so we know the Jacobite influence of the spelling. So we don't like it at all. Almighty G-d. He says that He has not given any creature two hearts. He also says in the Qur'an, and you'll find that most of the fundamental teachings of the Qur'an or of the scripture is common to both the scriptures. You'll find it in Qur'an, you find it in some likeness, also in the Bible. G-d says that He created the human being. It's called Adam, the first human being. Adam and Adam obviously was made right. If the Almighty made Adam, He was obviously made right.
In fact, for the Christians ...... that everything that He has made is good. Whatever He made, He made good. So this is the belief for us too. We believe that Adam, the man called Adam was made right, but he was not G-d. That means that he was not perfect. He was perfect in his own form and nature and being, but he was not incapable of ..........., he was not divine. He was not G-d. He was human. So scripture tells us that the weakness in him are because he's a creature subject to hurt or harm. He was deceived by clever being who was disobedient to G-d or Iblis, or the devil, whatever.
The Qur'an does not make Adam wrong creature in his nature. He was wrong in his thinking. Allah says, Allah's word in the Qur'an, excuse me, the Qur'an is the name of our holy book. Allah can turn that fan a little more way like this. Thank you. He says that Adam slipped, meaning that he made a mistake. What happened to him was not something that he was consciously bringing on himself..........., ran into without being aware. And for that reason the language in the Qur'an in the English is slipped, Adam slipped. And we still use that expression. We say he slipped, a slip of the tongue. Now, God then explains that nevertheless, no matter what happened to Adam, Allah had not cut His favor off from Adam and Allah was going to establish Adam in time. He says .............recommended or rebuked them for their ............and reminded them of what He had obligated them to. That's Adam and his wife.
If Adam should meet with a sign or message from his Lord and should repent, He would accept him. This is the teachings of the Qur'an. What is this addressing. This is addressing the belief that man went wrong, that man could not be saved directly, that G-d then had to reincarnate himself some kind of way into Jesus and through Jesus born out of a man, the world could be saved. This is the idea that the Qur'an is addressing. No Allah alone is enough. He created the man to do right if the man ..............., and he does not have to bring him back through any mysterious happening ..............the same way He made him. And how did he make him? He said be and He made him with a word. G-d said, Adam was, He made him with word. And then G-d said, now if you should meet with my sign or with my word and repent, then I would accept him and put him back on guidance.
So He made him with a word, and if by a word, and if he accepted the word, if he runs into the word and he appeals to him and he accepts .............. back on the right track. There's another belief that G-d breathed into the man of His spirit and the belief is that the first breath was not the spirit of G-d but the spirit of the world. So the language, a second spirit, two breaths we find in Judaism and in theology, two breaths. The breath was put into him the first time ........ failed because it was the breath of the world and the second breath came into him from God and he was perfect.
This is the idea, right? But the truth of the matter is, the truth of the matter is there is only one breath, one breath. In the scripture, whatever breath G-d gave, that was the breath and the idea of breath of G-d being different from breath of the world is wrong. ...........breath as we have breath. We have breath because it's a means of living. Without it we can't exist. Allah does not have breath as such, and without creation we can't exist. This body is of Allah's creation, isn't it? But isn't it Allah's? Yes. But does Allah need this to exist? No. He created this for me. It's His, but he created it for me. I'm the one needing it. The birds and the bees and the ......... they need this for. Okay, now we say breath, say Allah's breath. Well, what's wrong? Allah's creation, Allah's breath. Say Allah's creation. You don't think Allah as the sun? Now we say Allah's breath. You think Allah is breathing?
No Allah is not breathing. He created breathing. It belongs to Him. He created it. It's His, like the creation is His. ............ see a man that has come down to us from Paganism, idolatry, ancient myth. This idea of G-d and man being G-d has made it very difficult for people to understand religious terminology, made it very difficult for them to understand religious language. They hear in the Bible where they say Allah's earth and they don't think that Allah is eating the vegetation. But if it says Allah's spirit, they think that.......... No, that's wrong. Says that He gave .............four periods. This is in the, Qur'an. And He created the earth in two days, then gave everything its provision, .........making a total of four days or gave it what it needed in four days, four periods or four days, making a total of four days. In two days and then gave everything it needed in four days, in four days. Actually those four days, the learning and the Qur'an .............. the four days include the two and the two, made four.. We made the earth in two days, then gave every treat to his provision .............. four days. But those four days also include the first four. Like I say, we did this work in two days, in seven days, or we did all our work and gave every man his assignment in seven days. Does it mean it was nine days? No.
No, we are still talking about the number of days. So it's four days. He gave creatures everything that they needed, .............And Allah says in the Qur'an that He exists alone requiring nothing from His creation. This is Qur'an. He requiring nothing from His creation. And then Allah says He's not one to be fed. He feeds and is not fed. Neither slumber nor sleep touches Him. ............ He exists alone without having anything or leaving anything of His creation. This is Allah. This is not a religion for an atheist. This is a religion for a believer. We are talking about oneness, oneness, oneness in religion and how to establish our concerns in order of importance or in order of the priority. You don't have the greatest challenge for individual? Most of us, who are failing is because we can't establish our concerns in order of importance or in order of priority.
Are you happy? I hope you are. You should be happy. If you are one of us, you should be happy. What I mean if you are a human being, if you are a devil, then you shouldn't be happy. But if you are a human being, you should be happy. Yes, it's a great day. You've never had a human being to talk like this to you. Not in your life, not in your history. The greatest challenge I repeat is the job of establishing your concern in order of their importance. If we could do that, we can start making progress. That's right. That's all you need to do. Then you follow that and you are going, progress is guaranteed.
This is what religion is all about. But only the faithful, Allah blessed them to see that. That's what G-d is showing us, is that we have to establish our concerns and respect them in their relationship to each other and then they're importance. Which one is more important than the other? That's why Allah says, if you do not carry out obligation to this religion, and this was told to Prophet Muhammed, to tell Arabs, or tell the Muslims, not only Arabs, most of them were Arabs, but there were plenty of others had already joined, to tell them if they fail, if they cannot carry out this obligation, I will raise up another people.
He's not dependent on any certain people. I'll raise up another people and what will be their quality? He said a people who will love Me. You see that? Love is an expression of a concern, isn't it? Why? If we want to identify love, what is it by definition? Love, love is a concern. This is true. Love is a concern. And Allah says, I'll raise up for people who love Me and whom I'll love. Is that not right? (He) Said and the people who won't fear the criticism of criticizers. When people start talking down your worth or start talking down your stand, you're taking start belittling the stand you're taking, isn't that a concern? Okay, now your own image has become your concern. People are attacking you for doing right, for standing up for G-d, for being a Muslim. And now you are concerned for the way you look in the eyes of the people. And Allah says He's going to choose a people that won't care about how they look in the eyes of the people. Their concern will be how they look before G-d. Isn't that wonderful? That's the key. That's the answer. That's the answer. Order your concerns, establish your concerns, and then order them in order of their priority or they importance. Now tell me, is depending on my wife or my family, or my friends more important than me depending on the one who created all this?
Okay, so my love should be first and most for Allah. Thank you. Allah has not left us without help. He's given us all the help we want in this religion. Let me read a few quotes from this article, which was taken from a talk that I gave in New York. It's in this paper, this issue, September 2nd issue. And this report from my talk is made by Hasan El-Amin, correspondent for the American Muslim Journal. Here's a quote here, says "Nothing can exist without Him in brackets, Allah, and all that exists bears His impression." What do we mean all that exists bears his impression.
If I put my hand in the mud, most likely it's going to make an impression. If I have soft clay and I squeeze it, it's going to make an impression. Sometimes the slightest touch will leave an impression, go ....... The dictionary gives us the definition of impression. It says an imprint, a mark, et cetera. Now, it says as a consequence of contact or experience, as a consequence of contact or experience. So if I touch clay or something soft that can sustain an imprint, then the imprint of my hand or whatever I'm touching, it is going to be there from contact. But if I get near a stove, a hot stove in winter, I'm going to begin to feel warmth from that stove, right. Now we won't see an imprint or anything, but there's an experience that we don't call contact. But nevertheless, there is a contract, right? I'm getting warmth from that heat that's coming from the stove.
Now I can be way away from the stove. I can be freezing, can't get any bit of heat from that stove. But I see the stove from a distance and the stove makes me feel good. Even though I can't benefit from the heat, I'm too far away. But just seeing the stove, knowing that that stove is there, I'm going to get there after a while. So it's not a contact, but it's an experience without a contact. So it influenced me. It impressed me. It left an imprint on me. And when you see me, you see the mark of the stove though it didn't touch me directly. You say, man, what are happy about? You know, its a stove, man, it's about two miles away. I'm going there and get my hands warm, right? So see this is influence. So Allah is creator, He is the one responsible for the existence of everything.
If you can't understand how He did it, don't worry. You're not supposed to understand how He did it. You are supposed to understand how to use it. You are supposed to understand how to respect it. You are supposed to understand your relationship with it, or to it. You ain't supposed to understand how He did it. You see? So if you can't understand how Allah created all this, don't worry about it. That's a fool's curiosity. That's not the curiosity of a person of faith. That's the curiosity of one who rushes into things too big for himself.
Allah says He has not created anything or any creature is two hearts. The heart is a symbol, a symbol of our concern. Oh man, he took that to heart, right? I wouldn't have said it, if I knew he was going to take it to heart. So you made him concerned. He became concerned and you didn't know he was going to become concerned. If you had, you wouldn't have said that, right? So, say he took it to heart, man, I wouldn't have said it if I knew he would take it to heart. So heart is a symbol also of our concern. And it's central in the symmetry of the body, isn't it? Yeah, it's here. It's central in the symmetry of the body here, beneath it, above it, out from it. There it is in the balance, right? Central concern, central concern. And God says He has not given anyone two hearts.
So what does it mean? He has not given anyone two fundamental concerns. You only have one fundamental concern. If you have a second or third, they come in a secondary or distant position of importance. That's what we have to understand. And Allah focus' our attention on community so we will know where our central concerns are. How come Adam slipped? It was because his focus was not on community. Adam's focus was on spirituality. Why? Because G-d put him in heaven. G-d created him in heaven. So when he became conscious, his concern was for keeping the order in heaven.
But what about the order of earth? What about the community? What about the community? Now, if you can understand this, Adam, and according to the Bible, Genesis, lost his right mind or his right consciousness before he became a father, in fact before he married. So the marriage must have been wrong. We just reasoning with what is given in the scripture. Then Adam became lonely. Is that not right? See, the man got lonely and G-d did not desire him to continue on in that state of loneliness. So he decided to make him a mate. According to the Bible, it is not Qur'an. So he caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep. Listen, he caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep. Some may say go into a deep sleep, but sleep itself is not awakeness.
