Creator and Creation

By Imam W. Deen Mohammed
Praise be to Allah the Guardian Evolver, the Cherisher and the Sustainer of the worlds. We seek Him for assistance. We turn to Him asking forgiveness. We put our complete trust in Him. And I bear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship except the one G-d. Allah. And I bear witness that Muhammad to whom the Qur'an was revealed is His servant and His Messenger. We pray the peace and the blessing be upon the Prophet and upon his descendants, upon his companions, the righteous all Ameen. Ha says in His book the Qur'an in the chapter or the surah, by the title Al Nahl. And He there is G-d has made subservient to you the night and the day, the sun and the moon. And the stars make obeyance. That is they submit and render service by His command, by the command of G-d that is.
And also the Most High G-d says, And by the signs in the creation. And by the stars, they are guided. Then is the one who creates likened to the one who does not create? Will not you reflect?" There is but one G-d that is Allah. There is no G-d other than Him. He is the Creator and everything else is creation. He created us, He created Adam. And G-d says in His book that the parable or the likeness of Jesus's birth is that of Adam. And He created him from dust. And again, G-d Most High says in the Holy Book Qur'an that if He was to take a son, He would take one or choose one from among those He created.
Therefore, we must understand that whatever we worship beside G-d is creation because G-d alone is Creator. To worship Jesus then is to worship creation. He's created and to worship Jesus is not to worship the Creator because Jesus is not Creator. He was created. And to compare Jesus or any other with Allah as a G-d is wrong because the one who creates cannot be compared with one who does not create. G-d Most High also says in our Holy book that the creation of the skies and earth is a bigger creation than the creation of man. So that idea that man is the microcosm from a macrocosm, a small world from a big world that is on his way back by divine route into the big world from G-d back to G-d, from G-d back to G-d as G-d to be G-d is all condemned in our religion.
Man is not from G-d. He's from matter. And everything is created by G-d. If we want to think of ourselves as being from G-d, then we are from obedience to G-d. We are from obedience to G-d. We are from His will. From His plan. He created us to obey His will and he created us obedient to His will. To return to G-d only means to return to that state of obedience, the return to that state of obedience, conforming to what G-d created us to be or created us for then we have returned to G-d. We speak of those who die as returned to G-d. They have returned to G-d because they have no will of their own to act outside of the law of G-d. So they have returned to G-d. And the end for some will be hell and the end for others is paradise according to the word of G-d.
And we start in both conditions while we live in this life according to the teachings of G-d in the Qur'an. The condition of happiness and tranquility, of peace, of paradise, begins in this life and conditions of hell also begin in this life. So G-d says "Is the one who created all this, who creates, to be likened to one who creates nothing? What an ignorant comparison man makes." That's because he's blinded by his own limited light. And again, G-d says He is the Creator of everything. He is the Creator of everything. There is nothing that exists that Allah didn't create. Whatever is in existence, Allah created it.
Allah says in the Qur'an, Now show me. G-d proposes the argument Himself. Show me now what it is that they have created, these G-ds you claim to be G-d. Now G-d has created all of this. The whole universe is created by G-d. The cosmic reality or whatever you may call it, is created by G-d. Now you claim some other G-d, show us. Show us that that they created. They have created nothing. No one will say, see that little star there? My G-d created that one. No one will be that big a fool. No, the one G-d created them all. And whatever has been responsible for all of it is responsible for all consequences and all things that evolve from it.
Nothing can be a consequence and nothing can be an evolution in what He has done that would be given to the credit of another. No. If He has created it, the one who created it, created its potential, created its design created also it's fate and its destiny. So whatever happens is because of that one who created it all. So Muslims must understand that the attribute of G-d that distinguish us from many other people, including Christians, is Creator. We believe in none but the Creator, not in the son of the Creator, not in the spirit of the Creator, only in the Creator Himself. For the sun is His creation. And the spirit only acts by His command.
Praise be to Allah. So we've come through a season that is dying out. Each time they take the census, every 10 years they have a weaker generation in that belief. It's a dying belief. This Christmas thing, it's a dying belief. And you who still stay with it, you should think about it. It is a dying belief. And the people that give themselves to that kind of thing are the misguided. They're the misguided people. And a Muslim should never be associated with that kind of shirk. We believe in Jesus Christ, we believe in his birth by the power of G-d, that G-d created him, that his birth was miraculous, that G-d created him. We believe in that. But we believe that that is not a bigger miracle than the miracle of Adam. For He created Jesus from a woman and he created Adam from dust.
So certainly we believe in that great miracle, but we believe the creation of Adam was even a bigger miracle. And we accept all of the Prophets of G-d. This is binding on us as Muslims, that we do not discriminate against any of them, but except all of them as equally legitimate. They all have equal legitimacy as Prophets and Messengers of G-d. However G-d says, "And He has raised some of them in ranks above others." So to think that Jesus is bigger than our Prophet or greater than our Prophet in stature or rank is ignorance in this religion.
But our Prophet is the leader of all the Prophets according to the Sunnah of the Prophet, Peace be upon him. And if you understand it according to the Qur'an, because he is the seal of the Prophets, and the last of the Prophets. And the one in whom G-d fulfilled His promise. He is the great liberator for all the people. A mercy to all the worlds, Peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him. And he is an example for all people. He's an example for the believers but also for all people. Surely you will find in him, G-d says the most excellent model to follow in the Prophet Muhammad.
So if G-d has said to us, we'll find in Muhammad the excellent model for us to follow, then that should tell us that the others are not to be followed, not as the model one. But to follow them would be to follow in part. And as Paul says in the gospel, in the New Testament, when that comes, that is complete, that that is in part is done away with. And I believe that we may use that language to describe exactly what happened when Prophet Muhammad came. That which was in part had to be pushed aside, done away with. So those who followed Moses, great, but what they have is in part. Those who follow Jesus is great. But what they have is in part. Those who follow Muhammad, they have the whole package, they have the whole package. And nothing else suffice except what Prophet Muhammad has brought. Everyone else, when he comes up before G-d, if he comes up without what Prophet Muhammad has brought, he will come up deficient. Maybe he'll be accepted, but he'll come up deficient, he'll be deficient. Those who follow the other Prophets will be deficient. They'll be lacking. They won't have enough.
Those who follow Jesus, Peace upon the Prophet, they will be deficient. They won't have enough. G-d says only of Muhammad, Peace and blessings be Upon him. He is enough. He is enough. That's what G-d says in the Qur'an, for mankind. And I know for myself from my own personal experience, I was hungry until I found Muhammad. The Prophets of Israel, they weren't enough for me. Moses, Jesus, they weren't enough for me. They left me still hungry. But when I found Muhammad in the Qur'an and in his Sunna, Allah is my witness, G-d be my witness, it was enough for me. I don't hunger anymore. I don't thirst anymore. I am completely satisfied. I have no desire to discover anything other than what I have found in Muhammad.
And that's G-d's truth. That's the truth. I swear on the Qur'an, I swear on my mother, everything. That is the truth. Now, you may have your own opinion of that, you are entitled to your own opinion. And when we look at the world, we can see in the world that those who hold to the letter of the old way of religion, their lives are miserable. It is only those who come out of the letter, come out of the rigid confines of the beliefs that they claim and modify those beliefs. There's only those that we find live kind of comfortably and free in the world. But those who hold to the rigid framework of those old messages, oh, they're in trouble. Now, it's just the reverse when it comes to the Muslim. The Muslim who go outside of the rigid framework of his religion is miserable. And the Muslim who holds to the rigid framework of his religion is free.
He's free, he's happy, he's relieved, he's not any way burdened or made uncomfortable. When you find a Muslim complaining and in trouble, that's a Muslim who's not adhering strictly to his religion. But when you find a non-Muslim in trouble, that's one adhering strictly to his religion. Yes. Where are the miserable Muslims? In Las Vegas, in atheism, in Communism. That's where the miserable Muslims are. In capitalism. That's where the miserable Muslims are. Selling whiskey, using narcotics, committing adultery, fornicating, gambling, flirting with truth and with lies. That's where the miserable Muslims are. But the comfortable Christians are there and the miserable Christians are trying to follow the letter of their book. Now see, it' funny, but it's true. The comfortable Christians are those who have fun and play a little bit, relax themselves and they're the comfortable Christians. But go to the Christians that follow the letter of the book.
No, I can't drink, I can't do this. And everything for them is believe in Jesus. For them to not to drink and not to give themselves to adultery and fornication, gambling and play life makes their life very miserable. You may say that this is wrong, but I know for a fact. I met some of the holy people myself from Christianity, gotten to know them very well. In fact, a girl, she wanted me to be her boyfriend. I was a Muslim from the Temple of Islam and she was a Christian from the Temple of Christianity. We both were from Temples. And we had a strict code, strict diet and strict code. We weren't supposed to go to movies or anything, although I snuck sometime and went to a movie, you see. But she told me no movie. She didn't wear makeup. She said, no movie, no makeup, no dance, no playing.
But she wasn't happy. She was very miserable, very miserable. And I don't think I can complete the story because she told me something that was very ridiculous, very ridiculous as a relief for her. I'll have to tell you now. She told me that her preacher says that a certain portion of Acts, if you read that, then you can do have fornication, you can fornicate. But it won't be accepted until you read that certain portion of Acts. And I wondered for a long time. That happened to me, I was about 17 years old. I wondered for a long time how come it was Acts and I went and read Acts and read all through Acts. And I came to the conclusion when I was about 47 years old that he said Acts because that was an act.
It had nothing to do with really the chapter Acts, but he just knew that his thing was an act. He told her to read from Acts and it'll be all right. We find that these other religions have been undergoing constant change, modernization to keep up with the time. And they think that a Muslim, if he doesn't have that kind of religion, a religion that accommodates change and modification on that religion, that he really has a burdensome religion. I've had people tell me this in discussions with them. So-called philosophers, Doctors of Religion, they have told me this in discussions on radio. That this religion doesn't allow any progress then if it doesn't allow change. You know what I told them? I said, look, when we say we believe in G-d, we mean it. And when we say G-d revealed this, we mean it. That's what we believe, we mean it.
And where do we get authority to change what G-d has revealed? To change the Qur'an, to talk about changing something in the Qur'an so it will accommodate women being Imams, or changing of roles for men and women or something like that. For us to talk about doing something like that to Qur'an is the same as us talking about changing the moon. Say, look, we don't want the moon cold, we want it hot, and we don't want it splitting up in these quarters like it's doing and we want it just to stay fixed or we want to make a cube out of it.
Yeah, it's just like talking about making alterations on the creation itself. We say, G-d did that and man can't come up with a better idea for this universe. Well, if we believe Allah did also, the same G-d did also the Qur'an, that those are His words like the creation, His signs, and we believe the Qur'an is His word. Then how can we talk about making any change in the Qur'an? We cannot talk about it. And it's a blessing from Allah, from Almighty G-d that there is something from G-d on this earth that has been respected for 14 centuries.
We got the only gift from G-d that has been respected for 14 centuries. Or have been respected for generations. For what came from Moses was not respected, it was respected only until it became a burden on them and then they tried to change it so it'd be easy for them or they did other things with it. So it was with the message of Jesus. The message of Jesus stayed intact for as long as it didn't demand too much of the people. But as soon the world got ahold to it, they took it out of its natural order, out of its natural form and made it to suit them, made it easy for them. So you get a double message in the gospel, you get a double message in the Old Testament. A double message. A strict message, and a loose one both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. They have made it that way, but we thank Allah. Allah revealed to His Prophet Muhammad, Peace be Upon him, that angels are protecting the Qur'an.
They don't permit anything to come into it and nothing to go out of it. Isn't that wonderful? And we have it as evidence that for 14 centuries it has remained as it was given to Muhammad the Prophet, the Peace and the blessing of Allah be on him. This is wonderful. Now, this thought on the creation of G-d, I hope we can extract something from that and understand this, that the creation itself suggests the Creator according to the teachings of Qur'an and the Prophet. The creation itself suggests to us that there must be a Creator and not two or three, but one for all of it.
Then the idea of Creator, it suggests to us that we being creation should have a way that the Creator intended for us. We shouldn't just live any kind of way. This form was created by him. We should live a life a way that agrees with the form created by G-d. So it suggests to us a way for us to live that G-d intend. Being free individuals, free spirits as the Christian Western world say, we being free spirits, able to think freely and question things and have our own opinions. Having this power also should make us come to a belief that we are special in G-d's creation. Though we are weak in many, many ways, we're special in G-d creation because He didn't select any other creature to give this freedom to. He didn't give it to the animals, He didn't give it to the angels, He gave it to man.
So that should suggest something to us too in connection with Creator/ creation. Now I'm in creation and I'm free. I'm free to explore this creation. I'm free to study it, examine it, extract from it, benefit from it. So there is Creator, there is creation, and now I have a free will and a free imagination. So this should lead us to what? A relationship with creation. One that is very, very respectful. Yes, we should have a deep respect for creation. Every Muslim is taught this in this religion. To have a deep respect for creation, for everything that G-d has created, for He has created everything honorable, dignified. Yes, this is the teachings of this religion. Now as a people in this religion, we should become productive in our intellect. This is what makes man productive as an intellect, when he understands the unity of creation and the purpose in creation for him. That he has been made different for a great purpose. And that is, so he should reach his potential, reach his destiny and his destiny is what? To utilize. His destiny is to utilize the benefits in creation for the improvement on his own life, for gain and improvement in his own life. So who should be more industrious than the Muslim man?
I don't know of any other people with a religion that is as clear as ours on the creation and it's purpose, man and his purpose. Therefore, we should be more industrious than any other people. In the dark ages. Muhammad the Prophet was born and raised up from among the unlettered people according to the teachings of the Qur'an and the history. That unschooled man with the revelation Qur'an led his people to become the torch bearers of science and civilization. he broke the dark ages with a rebirth of science and a unique civilization never before seen. A social order of the greatest excellence.
Yes. And for eight centuries. America has only been surviving as a great country for about a hundred years or less. For eight centuries that great society brought in by the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet thrived, thrived, thrived and just expanded and pushed back the darkness and savagery and ignorance and spread civilization. This is history that lasts for about eight centuries. Some say, oh, what happened to the Muslims? You should understand that they were progressing for about eight centuries and America has not progressed for eight centuries. America has progressed for about a century and now on the way down.
So if you want to compare the product of Qur'an with the product of America, of America's Americanism, whatever you want to call it, okay. Already this is going down and we are talking about something that was going up, up, up for eight centuries. In Spain alone it was thriving for seven centuries. In Spain alone. In one country in Spain for seven centuries. That's a long time. Look how long the Communist ideology just been here. It's already is dying. It's on the wane. So these are the realities. Don't look at the immediate moment and try to address something that has been around for centuries. But look at it's history and compare it's history with the thing that you are questioning or the thing that you are fascinated by. If we compare the history of Islam with the history of America, there's no comparison. There's no comparison.
America at the top of it's peak and democracy, it went and selected African people for slavery. Whereas Al Islam came and didn't select slaves, but it started countering the movement of slavery, curbing the movement of slavery, bringing slaves into freedom and dignity. Leadership over men with knowledge and education and high standing, normal men. Slaves led normal men in Al Islam. Yes. And in many countries, slaves rose to the top to be the king. Yes. In fact, there's a whole dynasty of rulers that came from a slave society, the Marut Empire. They weren't slaves anymore. They were free men ruling their society, but before they had been slaves, before the religion Al Islam, huh? Yes. So there's no comparison.
The quick burst of science here is just like a firecracker. That's what it is. Just like a firecracker, one big puff of great noise. Sure they have vehicles out there, but how do we know it down here? What are they doing for us down here? Oh but America has sent ships to outer space. The Communist too. Both of 'em sent spaceships out there. So how do we know it down here? What are they doing for us down here? Say, well Telstar Communication is doing a great job. That's not as great as Benjamin Franklin's kite.
We got more from Benjamin Franklin's kite. Wasn't it Benjamin Franklin who sent the kite up? Yeah. We got more from his kite than we've gotten from these objects that they've thrown out there in space and taking taxpayers money and billions and billions and billions, trillions. And most of what they've done is made the man sick, made the human person sick, messed up his senses, threw off his natural clockwork. It's thrown off. He's no more functional as a natural person anymore. The average one of us can't even function as a natural person. Right? It's a fact.
I know it because just like you and me, we all the same. We left some back home. They're not functioning. Just like wires have been crossed or something. And the thing is happening all funny and erratic. You expect one response and you get something just the opposite. You ask for a handshake, you might get a tongue in your hand. Yeah, I'm exaggerating to make a point. Just that strange. Functioning just that strange, the computer going crazy. And they've just been rising up for about 50 years or more. That's all. Just about 50 years or more and already going down, going down. And that's not the dumb people saying that. "Who you hear would say that." The top people in government are saying the same thing. The top people of this society are saying the same thing. There's a Governor, they call him Governor Doom because he'd been preaching the doom of America so much and telling them what they ought to do to turn this thing around. So he got the nickname Governor Doom. And there's President Carter's foreign advisor, used to be foreign advisor to President Carter. Budzinski is saying the same thing that unless this nation recognizes this peculiar behavior that it has and turn the thing around, everything will be lost. And things are not getting better, they're getting worse.
But we should be happy that we have something to support our life. We don't need their religion. We have our religion. And we don't need their philosophies or their ideologies. We have ours. It's in the Qur'an and in the Sunnah of the Prophet and in the wisdom and the Muslim scholars. We don't need anything from them. No. In fact, our presence in any non-Muslim country, if we be Muslims, is a blessing to that people. Yes. It's a real blessing to that people, if we be really Muslim. They don't have much to offer us. No indeed. And if you all stop following their sense, and start following Islamic sense, you'll do better as families. You'll do better as business people. You'll do better even in America's politics. Yes. If you stop following their senses and start following the sense of a Muslim obedient to the word of G-d and the Sunnah of the Prophet, you'll find that you'll make much more progress. The most progressive people in this country, materially speaking and in the sense of achievement, social achievement, cultural achievement according to studies that have been done recently is the Jew.
Now how come the Jews stand out for financial success and all other kinds of successes as a people, for the people. How come he stands out? Because the Jew for this present time has been successful at keeping to his own way of life. He's in America, but he's a Jew. he supports America, but he's a Jew. He thinks Jew. He lives Jew. He has his own view of reality from a Jewish knowledge base. He stands on Jewish knowledge and then he looks at the world and he says with Jewish eyes what the world is, what the world should be.
Now the Muslims should understand that you have the greatness. Now the only way you're going to realize that is holding true to your religion and to your life form. The Muslims under Prophet Muhammad realized that because they held true to their religion, they held true to the Islamic life form. They pursued Islamic goals, not the goals that the world suggested. As we are doing. The average one of you, you are pursuing goals that this world suggests to you. You are not looking at your religion, you're not studying the Qur'an and studying the Sunnah and studying the history of this religion to see what should be your goals that you should be pursuing. No, you're getting your cues from the environment of the world.
In other words, then you are not under the power of your religion. You're under power of the world. The world is forming you. The world is forming your future. And that's why we are weak as Muslims in this country. When we get our life into our hands sufficiently like the Jew has his life in his hands. But I hope we can do it even better. We should. We're able to do it much better. When we get our life in our own hand and we start living our life in accordance with our religion buddy, we are going to become a progressive people in this country. And not only in this country, wherever we live. We are talking about a revelation that has not been challenged successfully. The Qur'an. We are talking about a reputation of a man, of a successor, pardon me, of a successful leader, a triumphant leader. Muhammad, Peace be upon him. We're talking about a record that has not been challenged successfully.
And we're also talking about a history. A history that cannot be matched given the time that the accomplishments were realized. The short period of time and the longevity of that life for a nation like Spain. A country founded by the people of North Africa, by the people of North Africa. Not Spain itself, but that order of Spain that survived by many Muslims were established under Muslims from North Africa. Some of them might've been your forefathers and mothers. That's a fact. In fact, nobody would be so foolish to say that none of their descendants are among us. There must be some of that descendants among us. In fact, I remember my father showing us a newspaper clipping with a man on the slave block being sold and he was dressed like a Moor of Northern Africa. He had their dress. And one of the names they used to give us was blackamoor, they called us Negro. They called us colored people. They called us black people. They also called us blackamoor.
So they must have thought too, some of us descended from the Moors. You see, so you don't what past you may have. You've been cut off of your past. So all we can do is just speculate and guess as to what the past was for us individually or go on a hunt for our roots like Haley did and come up with a movie. We could do that. But what we can be sure of if we are true believers is the future. We can work for an Islamic future. Maybe we're not certain that we had an Islamic past, but we can, if we are Muslims, we can work for an Islamic future. And if we would do that, we will progress ourselves. Not separately like some of us do and it doesn't count for much. We die and we leave nothing back here for the race and nothing for the children. But we'll progress as a society, as a community, a community of Muslims in America. But we should learn from the unity of creation, the oneness of its nature, its consistent laws. We should learn great sciences and then use those sciences to better our own environment and to make progress for ourselves on this earth. We have to stop thinking spiritually.
Religious people are spiritual, but their assignment is on this earth until G-d call them away from it. Our assignment is on this earth. So we cannot be thinking spiritual that we are a spiritual community. No. We are a dynamic, striving, productive community. If we are Muslims, we are supposed to be working to improve the whole life of man if we are really Muslims. So let us keep the Islamic life before us and the commitment to community, to community life and community advancement. Because G-d sent Muhammad to us to guide us into community life and into community establishment. That we may be a community on this earth. No matter where we are, we are to live the disciplines of Islamic community life.
To live those disciplines is also to have Islamic businesses, Islamic cultural facilities, Islamic outlets for the total need in your human life. America is a good place for it because in America that right is sacred. That's a sacred right in America's law, the constitutional law, that every people have the right to practice their own religion, to have their own religious government. Do you know that? Do you know that religious people have the right to their own religious government? That's why there's a separation of Church and state because they recognize Church as government and state as government. And the Christians are entitled to Christian government life.
Jews, they don't ask anybody for it. They have their government life. They've always had it and they ain't going to change it. Many of the Asians come over here. They have their government life. Doesn't mean that you work against this government. No. This government is so loose, you have to have another government. Yeah. If you don't have another government, you don't have any government. This government is only, it's a support. It's a guardian for your government. That's all it is. It's a guardian for the government that you choose. Now what government do you choose? You choose Islamic government. You choose Hindu government, you choose Jewish government. You choose church government. What government you choose. Okay, this government is supposed to be a guardian for your government as long as you're a citizen of this country. But if you don't have no sense of government, this government ain't much for you.
That's a fact. I know many of the ignorant among us, they can't understand that, they can't see what I'm saying. They can't appreciate what I'm saying here. "Oh, don't call us ignorant Brother. Imam." I called you ignorant in a nice way. I said the ignorant among us. So we got our ignorant and we got our wise, our hope. So don't be ashamed of somebody saying that you are ignorant. I'm ignorant myself in some respects, maybe in many respects. I'm ignorant myself. And in respect of what I'm saying right now, I'm sure many of you all are ignorant, you don't understand this country's idea, the idea of American people, this country, the nation. The nation, you don't understand it. And you think that there's only one government. This government just like it has states within the state, so many states, but all coming under federal government. The one state, the United States. But in the United States, the President come out, he gives the State of the Union address. Right? The State of the Union address. So the union is one state, but in that one union, there are many states. And all the states have their different laws. And then cities have their different laws and little township have their different laws. If you want to form your own township, you can form your own township. And your township can have laws for your own needs that people have to respect when they come into your township. America is a freedom all the way. There's nothing in America that's not free.
Even law is free in America. It's free to the point that we can scrap the whole constitution and bring in another one. Isn't that provided in the Constitution of the United States? Yes. So don't be afraid. I say that to you. Don't be afraid. What are you afraid of? For three centuries, we were slaves. Not necessarily us here but our people. For centuries we were slaves. And I think still the ghost of slavery is in us saying, is that permissible? And you'll never know what is permissible unless you study. Why don't you study that? If you are afraid to progress in America because you're afraid to break a law or you're afraid to do something out of order, you think you're going to meet grave consequences for doing it. Then if you want to be bigger and more progressive, you want to get more, you want to have more in life, why don't you study America's law? Study it's constitution, study its history, study, its idea. And if you come to know it better, you realize then that you have much more freedom than you are asking for. Black people don't ask for much freedom. Just want the freedom to work. And really, we don't want the freedom to work. Most of us just want the freedom to eat, sleep, have sex, have fun, die.
Now that's the truth. That's the fact. Most of us, that's the limit of our freedom. All the freedom we want. Say, oh, hey, what is this great idea you Muslims got, how much money you all got? Cause money means party, a woman, food, drink. So really he don't want no money. If he wanted money, he'd get into economics, get into financing if he wants some money, really? He don't want no money. He wants sex. He wants some liquor, some drinks and some food. He want to eat. He want be warm. He want to look good, he want to be dressed up, you see. He want to ride around in a nice car, but really he don't want no money. He want looks and feelings, right? He just want looks and feelings.
That's all he want because if he wanted money, he wouldn't be asking for those things. He won't ask for money. He wouldn't even ask for a job. He would ask for freedom. He'd ask for freedom. Because if he's free and if he's got what it takes, he can get whatever anybody else can get. They called me up at home and they told me that it was late for Jumu'ah and should they start. So I told 'em, since you called me don't start, wait. I was on the way. I was going to be late. So I know a lot of you saying, I wish you had not come. Sorry if I'm holding you from something very important.
Yes. So there's no way for us except to be true to the religion. That's the only way. Be true to the religion and we'll get everything. G-d will then bless us. Everything else will be answered. We get all the other needs taken care of. Just be true to the religion. And believe me, ain't no way for us to be true to this religion and just come here and pray and go home. No Prophet Muhammad, unlike the other Prophets, he gave us a big, big responsibility in the world. Prophet Muhammad, he didn't allow the Muslims to be outside of the work of the community and receive merit, praise and honor. No. He played down the importance of those who just went about their spiritual duties but weren't doing something constructive for society, weren't doing a work that benefited society. Prophet Muhammad says, "The best of you is the most useful of you to humanity." The best of you is the most useful of you to humanity. And the best of you is also the most useful of you to his community, to the Muslims, to believers. Whoever benefits man the most. What are you doing to benefit the man? What are you doing to benefit your society?
You just being obedient in your prayers and your devotional thoughts. And how has that benefiting us in this society? Is that relieving the financial burden on us? Is that making job files jobless? No. So those who will get involved and invest in business and make jobs for our jobless and who will do scientific work to improve the future for man, they are more valuable according to our Prophet Muhammad, Peace and blessing be upon him. And he didn't say nothing that wasn't already in the Qur'an. Whatever the Prophet has said is already in the Qur'an. G-d says, "You are the best community brought out for the good of all people." And the Prophet said, "The best of you is the one who benefits mankind." It's the same if you understand it.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. We thank Him and praise him for the gift of Muhammad, the noble and generous Messenger of G-d. We pray Peace and blessings be Upon him, on his descendants, his companions, all the righteous, ameen. Allah Most High says in Qur'an, "If they want to burden you and wear upon you then know for surely G-d is sufficient for you." Now this is what G-d tells the Prophet of G-d. The Prophet, the Holy Prophet Muhammad, Peace and blessings be on him.
There are among the people, those who are true and sincere. And they gave their great support to our Prophet. And then they were among them also, those who were deceitful, they were not sincere. And they did everything to create problems for the Prophet. G-d says to the Prophet in those circumstances, for him to know for sure that G-d is sufficient for him. Those people would not be victorious. They would not be successful. Almighty G-d, the same one who Allah says in His holy book, He is the one who has strengthened you with his help and also the believers. He has strengthened the Prophet with His great help. And we've also done that for the believers, the followers who believed the Prophet, who believed and followed the Prophet. Believed in G-d and believed in the Prophet, obeyed G-d and they followed the Prophet. So G-d gave His aid to both the Prophet and to the believers.
We find ourselves in similar circumstances today. If we are really believers, you should be comforted in this belief that just as Allah aided Muhammad and his followers, he will aid us today. And just as our Prophet had to be bothered by deceitful people who claim to be among them as one of them, we'll have to be bothered today by deceitful people who claim to be one of us among us. But their purpose is not to support us. Their purpose is to add to our problems, to bear upon us, to trouble us, to add burden to us, to wear on us, to be an annoyance, a vexation, a trouble, to wear on the spirit, to make you give up or to make you half productive. Yes. I like that new saying they got here in this part of the world. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
That's Islamic. That's Islamic. Yes. The same philosophy may be extracted from the saying in the Qur'an. "Surely that with difficulty comes ease." It means by facing the difficulty, not running away from it, your state of ease will come eventually. Won't be long coming either. So actually the same philosophy could be extracted from the Qur'an- That when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. And again, Allah says in the Qur'an to the Prophet, "As soon as you have finished from one task, immediately take up another." So that's even the better philosophy isn't it. It goes further than just telling you to rise up to the challenge. It tells you stay with the challenge all the time. In other words, challenge is good for us. Challenge is good for us. When there's a great challenge, there's opportunity for work and progress. When there's no challenge, that's stagnation. No challenge, stagnation, you become stagnant.
You're not doing anything because there's nothing to challenge you. So our religion tells us to not to be satisfied without a challenge, without a task. That as soon as you finish one great task, immediately get into another. So man doesn't have to wait for the circumstances in his life to produce for him or present him with a task, a challenge. Man should be searching for a challenge, searching for a task That's the scientists. That's the scientists. The society, it's just moving along. Just moving along and waiting and waiting or just dealing with the things at hand. Science comes out with a new invention and create great opportunity for work in progress.
And the scientists, he wasn't waiting for something to challenge him. He was looking for something, huh? That's Islamic. That's Islamic. So how can you stay at home? And as some of the sisters are saying, let the white man take care of your wife and your children. Keep your light on, your gas on. Keep food in your refrigerator. Even give you some carfare, clothes rations, just taking care of you. The white man saying, Hey, your black men ain't got no woman. It's my woman. What can we say? What can we say with the numbers that we have on welfare?
"What you talking about your woman, it's my woman. In fact, you my woman too." Yeah. If he say that, what can we say? White man's mythology showed four white men holding up the world on their shoulders. I don't see a black one there yet. What part of the world a black man holding up with his shoulders? And you know why? It's because he thinks with the brains of the white man and he's not white. He thinks with the brains of the white man and he lives with the burden of the black man.
So he's thinking with the brains of the white man. But the black man's burden tells him the white man thinking cannot be executed in my body. So he's thinking, yeah, he thinks like the white man. He's thinking with the knowledge and the brain of the white man, but he carries the burden of the black man. Yeah, I can't carry this out though. You need to think with the brains of the white man and see yourself with the freedom of the white man. Then you'll make it. Think with the brains of the white man and see yourself with the freedom of the white man. Then you'll make it. Don't see yourself with the burden of a black man. Just forget about you black. If you can't think you white, just think you no color. You're transparent.
Yeah. If we stop thinking black, we get somewhere. I have people telling me, oh, you can't do that Brother Imam. You know they ain't going to let you do that Brother Imam. They, who they? Do I have some different kind of birth certificate then they have? I have the same birth certificate, born in this country like they are. When I go get my passport, they give me one just like them. I saw 'em I stood in line with 'em. They got the same passport I got. Now why should I think I'm different? My thinking I'm different is what keep me from enjoying the opportunities that are out there for me.
If you all stop thinking black, this community of Muslim will grow. It'll get big. The school will grow, the businesses will grow and everything will grow. Just stop thinking black. Think Muslim, Muslim American with all the freedom and rights that the whitest man have on this land. That's how you should think. And ain't nothing wrong with thinking like a white man. As long as he's thinking right. If he's thinking right, you're thinking like a man. You just thinking like a man. Just happened to be a white man that represent that kind of thinking right now because ain't enough of us thinking like a man. These sisters getting tired of you all being taken care of by the white man and talking to them like you a man. They say they tired of that. And I don't blame 'em. I told them I'll support you sisters. You just lead the way.
I guess if we start doing you like the white man did you, maybe you'll wake up. Hey boy, get over there. Get over there. Take those chairs. Yeah, that's how he did you right? Hey boy. Hey, get that thing done. You don't do it take a strap and whip you right in front of everybody. Then you go cry. Yes, yes, yes sir. Yes sir. You did that once. You can do it again. In fact, you not as much a man now as you were then.
Do you know? That's a fact. Most of our men are not as much man today as they were a hundred years ago. We losing the masculinity from our men, dying. You see the white man going down, you should be going up. That's right. It's just like you being in a prison, right? Because America was a prison for us for a long time. Still is in some degree right now. Although you got freedom, but still is kind of a prison in many ways right now. Just like inmates being in a prison and say, "Hey, we innocent. We are not guilty. And they've been keeping us in prison all these years." And after a while in time, the guards start getting weak and become frail and sissified.
They still in prison now and they don't see any more tough guards. The guards all frail and sissified. They're living a lifestyle that's making them more frail and more sissified. And the inmates now, what they should do is start doing more exercise to keep their muscles up. But instead they start following the lifestyle of the guards. They start doing the sissified thing and get frail and sissified and just live their. Sissy guards and sissy inmates. When the sissy inmates had an opportunity to take over while the guards were being, were becoming sissies, huh? There was that chance to develop their muscles and get strong and take off the power from the sissy guards and free themselves. But instead of doing that, they followed the way of the guards. They followed the guards lifestyle and become sissified too. So sissy, guards, sissy inmates.
Isn't that America? That's America. That's America and the masses. America's ruling order is getting weak and weaker, becoming more and more sissified. Instead of the masses becoming stronger, they follow the sissified trends. They get weak too. So they stay prisoners, they stay prisoners, stay inmates. So understand these things and try hard to get your life in your own hands. Thank you. Try hard to get your life in your own hands because without it, you're finished. You're finished. No help out there. The help is in the belief. The help is in the belief. There's opportunity out there. But only if you have something already in here. If you have nothing in here, then the opportunity out there is nothing but deception. Now, to complete this, I'll finish reading this That He's the one who helped you and also the believers.
And he brought your hearts together in love and affection. In love and affection. Where you had all that is in the earth to spend, to gain that from them, you would've not been able to gain that from them. In other words, Allah is saying to Prophet Muhammad, if you had all the wealth in the whole earth to spend on the people to win their hearts to you, you couldn't have gained the amount of sincerity and love and affection that they have in their hearts for you and for each other. But it's G-d that brings that affection for you between them in their hearts. It is G-d that brings that affection for the Prophet in their hearts and also for them.
So we conclude with this, that G-d is one. Also, the rewards must come from Him. All the rewards must come from Him. If you expect to have good relationship with each other, if we expect to have good relationship as Muslims with each other, that we care about each other, we are going to have to first be believers in G-d. If some of us take the religion lightly and we don't really believe in G-d strongly, that causes a problem for all of us. The more we believe in G-d, the more we are committed to obey Him out of fear and love for Him, the better the task is going to be for us to have good relationship with each other. That's the condition. The condition for us to have love and good relationship with each other and trust between each other is that we first have complete faith and love for Allah.
That's the condition. Everybody's not going to be that way. The believers who are sincere to that, you should strengthen each other. You should strengthen each other and let those people who care little for G-d, let them go to themselves. Let them go to themselves. You weaken yourselves if you have all those weak hearted, weak faith people among you. So if you form a group to do something constructive, don't bring in the people who have weak faith, not if you are a person of real faith in Allah. Bring in the people who have strong faith in Allah, who show by their life that they really sincerely believe in G-d. Bring them into your constructive work, whether it's business, education, I don't care what it is, select them and don't select those who are weak in belief. Cause if you do, you're doing nothing but inviting trouble. So Allah has given us the answer. All we have to do is receive it and obey. Receive it from the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet and obey and we'll be successful.
