Artificial Humanism

By Imam W. Deen Mohammed
In the Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful, Peace and blessings be upon His servants and His Messengers forever. Ameen. Dear brothers and sisters, I greet you all with the greeting of peace, the greeting of every Prophet from Abraham to Muhammad. As Salaam Alaikum.
You are a beautiful sight to look on. When I was a child, my mother used to give me lessons to read, that were given by Master Farad Muhammad to his Messenger, The Honorable Elijah Muhammad. May Peace and blessings be upon him. These lessons told about the little faith of the Black community in America. These lessons said, "I can step on top of the world and tell anyone that the most beautiful people in the world are the Black Americans."
As a child, I grew up with that and I never thought it meant physical beauty, although it's true that the American Black community is the most beautiful people in the world, physically. The reason why we are so beautiful and our beauty surpasses all the other people of the world is that we are representatives of all the people of the world.
I've seen and heard people whispering, saying, "He looks just like an Indian, or she could be a Chinese, he looks like an Italian or Mexican." We know, in our own families, we have those that look like Europeans. But if the world want to see itself in one focus, it should look on the most beautiful people of the world, the American Black community.
Let me say something about the kind of experience that I have just gone through here. The experience didn't last that long. It's about just a few minutes drive from the airplane here, but I have to say something about it to get the burden off of me so I can get into a conversation with you. I looked out through the plane and I saw people standing out there like soldiers, saw Caucasians leaning up against the fence to get a look at what was coming off the plane. I looked and the brightest thing I saw out there was Minister Farrakhan, Minister Abdul Halim Farrakhan. He was shining like a full moon on a clear, dark night.
I told him when I got to him, I said, "Brother, you really look good." And he does. When I first met him, I believe it was about maybe 16 or 17 years ago, and his very presence, it made me feel good inside. He was a lively, pleasant faced person, and there was a lot of heart and spirit, what we call soul in him.
And today when I saw him, I saw that he had increased a bit. Maybe he's gotten a double portion of spirit from somebody. When I saw his son, I didn't know who it was, but somebody was driving a big motorcycle and was riding it like they were born with it. He said, "Well, that's your namesake there. That's my son, Wallace." All Praise due to Allah. You know we have to be brothers.
His son is named Wallace and I have a son named Wallace. And they ask, "Why should he come to Chicago?" Chicago is here for him. New York got taller buildings then Washington D.C. But Washington D.C. is headquarters for the United States of America. So, if a man is called from the administration in New York to the administration in Washington D.C., I think that speaks for the worth of that man to that administration.
They tell me, they say, "Well, some people are awfully hurt because you're taking Minister Farrakhan away from New York." Well, I know you're hurt. I would be hurt too because he's a bright light here. But Almighty Allah is the best Knower, and I think maybe you'll experience just a second or two of the dimness of light. In a second or two, the light will be just as bright or brighter. And Minister Farrakhan will be glowing brighter and brighter too, but at headquarters.
"Well, that man is a little dictator, just like his father was." No, I don't dictate. I follow dictates, but I don't fear to follow correct dictates. When I know I have correct dictates, I execute it. I can be told, say, "Well, if you do that, the world is going to fall and you're going to fall with it." Well, if this has to fall, then we fall together. When it comes to following right dictates, that's what I'm going to do or die.
What has been missing more than anything else in the Black community, and I would say even in the worldwide community today, is right dictates. The people have been left to behave as though they don't have a head and a mind in their head. Today, we've been blessed to see the serious ills and wounds of the society, in America and outside of America. And being able to see what has happened to make the society sick and wounded, we're blessed with a solution which can go about correcting the problem and bring help, and giving it back to the society, America and outside of America.
I have been outside of America. I've traveled to the East. I've made the Hajj twice. I've made Umrah about four or five times. I've been to Africa. I've been in the Caribbean. And if I had the opportunity, I would have visited many other places around the globe to see, for myself, what the world looks like outside of the United States of America. The Honorable Master, Elijah Muhammad, Peace be upon him. In his lifetime, he made the Hajj to Mecca. And if G-d bless us to continue in this great work, in a few years, I expect that many Black Americans will be making the Hajj to the Holy City, Mecca.
When you go there, you won't see the lie that you've been told. You'll see people that look like yourselves. Many of them are so bright skinned, that you will feel that they are members of the Caucasian race. If it wasn't for the spirit, for the brotherhood that you experience in their midst, you would think that they are Caucasian. I'm not saying that you can't experience that feeling in America, amongst Caucasian people. You can, but it is rare. Very rare. But over there, it's the natural way of life. When I went there, I was met by dark-skinned men that are much darker than I am, who came from the Kings palace.
It is a community as far as physical color goes, much like the community you find here in America. Almost every people can be seen among the people of the Middle-East. If you have looked at the picture of some of the Arabs that they call white or Caucasian, you'll see that many of them have thick lips like we do. They have broad features like we do, and they have curly hair like we do. The truth is this. The Hot Belt all the way around the earth, many thousands years ago, was the home of Black-skinned people. The Caucasians from the North came down into the Hot Belt around the earth and displaced many of the original owners. And the mixing brought about many people of many different hues of colors and features.
So, if we take the whole classification of races and try to apply that today, we will find that the majority of the people all around the world are what we used to call Negros. The definition of Negro used to be anyone with any amount of so-called African blood in his or her veins. So, if that's the definition of what a Negro is, then there were Negros all over the world because there's hardly a country that you can go to and not find somebody with some evidence in their physical make-up of that blood in their veins. But they, that is the builders of white supremacy, they made us believe that Negros only live in Detroit, New York, Cincinnati, Georgia, and the other states in the South. You see?
They would show us in the movies, they would show us Black Africans, but they weren't Negros. They were African. And when they showed us the African brother, they would show the brother barking like a monkey in heat to make us feel that we're better off than the African brother, that the African brother, he spoke to the monkey and ate you all. And that you should be happy we brought you here and allowed you to get a little white man's civilization rubbed off on you.
Well, we're talking about days gone by. But it's necessary to talk about those times because many of us are still hung up in the old slave mentality of the Caucasians white supremacist doing. And it's time that we throw all that away. In Islam, we say, "The white man can't be saved. He has to be destroyed." They didn't understand what the wise masters were teaching. They thought we meant that the physical flesh has to be destroyed. The white man is not flesh. The white man is a lie. It's a mental falsehood that has been formed in the minds of not only white people, but everybody almost all over the world.
And because that lie, that false mentality rules in the body that we call flesh, we find that mentality ruling and that flesh is the devil. And we have nothing to do, but just read the pages of history under that mentality or under the rule of that mentality, and we see readily the image of the devil himself. How could we talk like this with great, high standing members of the Caucasian race here, sitting today and sitting with you on this platform? Well, if I thought that there was a pea-brained white man on this platform or in this audience, I wouldn't even talk like this.
All Praises to Allah who originated the heavens and the earth and is ruler and G-d of all that is above, below and in-between. And He has never shared that rule with anybody or anything. There are no co-operates, partners or shareholders in the rule of the universe. There's only One Allah. And as there's only One Creator, there's only One creation. Being that there's only one creation, then there's only one life. Since there's only one life, there can be only one human spirit, or humanity. And if another appears on earth, it's not true. It's a lie, and we have to destroy it because almighty G-d is not in agreement with it.
So, we've been a long time coming to destroy the grafted mentality that was grafted and put on paper to feed the mind and grow the mind into a devil, for the benefit and the glory of the Caucasian race. For the enslavement, shame and damnation of the non-Caucasian people. We know that you don't know what your fathers did. You only have some knowledge of what your fathers did before your days. If you had full knowledge of what your fathers did, and I'm speaking to Caucasian people, you would rush me and interrupt my talk and embrace me, and you would become my best and strongest supporters. But because you don't know the depth of hate, you only work in the political arena and fail to see a need to come down in the streets with brother Wallace Deen Mohammed, and put down your high names and high titles, to become part of a work that is more glorious and promises more dignity than anything you could possibly be doing in a political arena.
What we have to discuss or talk to you about, and I like to feel that it's a conversation, although you're not speaking back, you're just saying "Amen." But I would like to feel that it's a conversation. And I know it's a conversation. Because as I speak to you, I can't see in your head. But because I've heard the answer so many times, I hear you reply. So, whether you realize it or not, we got a conversation going on today. All Praises be to Allah. I don't know about you, but I'm not in a hurry.
There often comes a time where what you're doing is more important than time. Time has been wasted. Many, many years and generations have passed, and we haven't had an opportunity to sit down and have this conversation. So, since we waited that long, I don't think you should be concerned about the time because we have a whole lot of time owing to us. All Praises be to Allah. I want to bring something to your attention that perhaps some of you already recognize, but it's good to express our thoughts in the open sometimes, so that all can feel, together, the same experience.
When I got off the airplane, I looked out at this long line of cars and men standing around. And we whisked through the street. I was accompanied by the city with the New York police, New York State, and the city police. Once we entered the city limits, the city police took over and led the car right through red lights. I said, "This is truly our day." We've all noticed Caucasian dignitaries being escorted through the community and we observe that red lights are not as important as big Caucasian business. But today, Black people in New York and all over the city, over those cities wherein we are living, throughout the United States of America, and if you hear me, outside of America, you can share the good feeling of knowing that today, a Black man was led through the streets and the red light was ignored.
One of the reasons for that is that the world is now waking up to the fact that we are a highly civilized Black community in the United States of America. We know the purpose and the value of stop signs and red lights. And the Muslim, in The Lost Found Nation of Islam, we respect those stop signs and those red lights. But that's only a small expression or manifestation of our high human discipline. And if you could see all of our great civilized attributes, you would readily understand why the sirens blast and red lights are ignored when Muhammad comes to New York or to any other city.
Here, before us today, right here in this Madison Square Garden, you can look around and see thousands of people sitting attentively with their minds centered on the thought of this afternoon.
You came from many different locations to the Madison Square Garden. Outside of here, there are other halls that have been acquired, and there are others sitting attentively with their minds on focused, one direction, one point. What has the power to bring about this kind of miracle? And I say miracle because never before, in the history of Black Americans, was anybody able to bring Black Americans together by the thousands, from near and far, and hold their attention, and they remain quiet and orderly. With a physical person, far from their minds, but felt as a people, holding their attention every second of the time. Nobody had that power, brother and sister, before this day.
So where is that power? Where should I touch to touch that power? No physical muscles, brother and sister, can bring black folks together like this. You should realize that a power, like the power of the universe or gravity, something that you can't weigh on a scale, something that you can't touch, or see with a physical vision, but yet is able to hold the earth up, the moon up, the sun up, and keep everything floating as though nothing supported it. Big, huge bodies weighing trillions and trillions of tons, held up by a power that we can't physically recognize. You should know that a power like that has set the Black American community in motion, and there's no power in creation to interfere with it.
I've never had so many people behind me before. Beautiful sight, beautiful sight. I'm not here to entertain you, brothers and sisters. We have had too much entertainment to keep us listening, blind, enslaved, dead, to have us go into folly, clowning. That's good for a person who can't do anything else, but it's not good in 1975, when an invisible hand has come out of Blackness and opened up the door of local government, wherein a few years ago, the sidewalk was mostly for me and you. So, there's just too much opportunity available right now for us to be interested in clowning. It hurst me when I see a brother walking down the street, on stilts, with a hat so big, the sun can never shine on his face or head. If he keeps that up, give him about 50,000 years of walking in the shade like that, he'll be as pale as any cracker in the South.
All Praises due to Allah. I recall reading the Bible where it says that "My people are destroyed with music and song." That's it, brother and sister. We are permitting ourselves to be financially stagnated by foolishness. If you'll just stop making foolishness a major thing in your life and start giving the time and attention you've been giving foolishness to self-cultivation and community building, oh, brother, in about 10 years, Brother Minister, there wouldn't be enough Madison Square Gardens in America to hold a meeting once we call.
Now I'm not talking to you who respond so beautifully. I'm talking to the thousands and the millions outside that can't move, except as a drunken person or if somebody that's still under the power of sleep. Though their eyes are open and they're pulling the cover off and struggling out of the bed. They walk to the washroom and pick up the toothbrush with eyes closed. They put on their clothes and stagger out the door, and come back in the same way, and hit the bed.
There are many of us who have minds like that. We talk to you, and you know you hear something that's important to the very core of your being, but you just can't respond to it because you have so much white supremacy doctrine in your mind and the nature of your very system. You speak Black, you talk Black. You try to look Black, walk Black. But in your mind, you're whiter than any white American has ever been. I see we have a conversation going today. I just don't know how to talk like the big shot talks. I got a degree and it's as heavy as any degree was ever passed out on earth, but I just don't have the ability to make my tongue speak those eloquent words like those who came to the colleges and trained their tongue like the world great, I would say, historically great champion, Muhammad Ali. Trained his arms and his feet.
All praises due to Allah. We've got a lot of conversation to carry on here today, and I want you to just relax. There's nothing outside, anywhere, more important than what's going on right here. All Praises due to Allah. They say, "Oh, they're letting white people enter the Nation of Islam. White people going to be in the Temple." Well, little children, you never knew what white people were. Let us teach you what white people are. And since we're not in here to entertain, I think we'll just sit still and let us teach. In the world, our religion went astray. All of it was established by the great Prophet. Jesus not called a preacher. The Holy Prophet, Jesus, was called a master teacher, not preacher.
A preacher is one whose power to hold the people is emotional power. He drinks wine, and he can't hold it. He can't handle his wine. He drinks wine and the wine gets the best of him. We're talking about the wine of divine truth and wisdom. When the preacher drank a little bit, and because he hadn't developed into the three-stage form that brings about the completion of a man and make him worthy to be called man on earth, he stopped in the emotional stage of the human development and just grew big, fat and tall right there. So, when he read the lines of the Lord on the pages of the scripture, he just gets crazy. "Oh, lordy."
He loses his grip on reason, logic, intelligence. He falls off the platform of edifying and starts just moaning and groaning. He gets so worked up, he can't let out not one understandable word. "Oooh, lord lord." "Man, will you stand up there and make mockery of the preacher?" Well, there's not one of you in that audience that loves preacher's any more than I do. That's why I have the courage to speak as I do. It's because I love them. This world, just as it has distorted, corrupted every other concept that is vital to the development and survival of society, it has distorted and corrupted the concept of love.
Most of the people act as though love means to let a person go, no matter where or to what they're going. Just let them go. That's not love. That's the absence of love. You got parents raising their children at home, letting them curse over the dinner table, letting them argue with the father, argue with the mother, turn their back on the father, turn their back on the mother, walk out of the house, slam the door. And the womb that had first charge over that child sits there with a head of nothing but flesh and giggles-"That boy is sure something."
Then we got parents who have learned how to speak well on that, to make most of us believe that they really got a PhD. They let their children do any disgraceful, offensive thing. "Well, modern times you know." Did you get your PhD to turn time over that kind of foolishness? Anytime that weak excuse that "This is modern times", we're saying that we don't have control over time. Time is marching over us and we're lying down. You are a fool with a PhD.
Be patient. For a few minutes, we just want to go and review some of the terms that we use, terms that are basic in our daily life and conversation. Terms like baby, woman man, love, freedom. Brothers and sisters, I hope you can accept it and not let it just hit the ears and bounce off, simply because you think you know what religion is.
Religion is the only body of proof, of knowledge, that has kept, held onto the secret of how humans come into existence, develop and grow as men and women. I repeat. Only religion has kept the secret and preserved the secret of how you are created. When you hear the word creation, you think of physical things, the ground, the sky, stars and whatnot. You haven't been taught right, so you can't perceive your own creation as something different from the physical creation. Your own creation is the creation that is brought about after the physical creation. And that creation is a continuous thing. It didn't end on the 6th day. It has been going on ever since human life was manifest in the earth.
I'm talking about the creation of man and woman. The problem we have today is just that. We have lost that knowledge. So, there's no direction over or in the creation of men and women. So, men and women are being artificially manufactured. You call yourselves men and women, but most of you lie. "Don't tell me that, Mister. That nigga got a lot of nerve. If I could speak back to him, I'd shut his mouth up." Well, come on up here and shut my mouth up. We can talk. If you keep your mouth shut and your ears open for a little while, you'll get some understanding. In the scripture, we find that the beginning of the creation of human beings is the forming of something in the scripture called clay. "Then he made man from clay." What does that mean? What are we talking about? Are we talking about physical clay in the earth? No, indeed.
Human life, as a physical life, is made from the earth like everything other thing that grows out of the earth. Trees, animals, and everything else that's living, that grows out of the earth, is a part of the earth, that are grown out of the earth, just as we are. Life is one. Clay refers to the nature of the human being when he comes from the womb of his mother as a baby. Clay is the only term in scripture for babies. So, when the book says that G-d made man from clay, He's saying that G-d made minds from a baby. He took a baby and developed that baby, raised that baby, and trained that baby, and turned that baby from clay, from something that had no control of itself, that could be picked up by anybody and shaped and formed.
G-d lifted him from that helpless nature, pardon me, nature and existence, and made him so that he wouldn't be pliable, or manageable in any hand foreign to the hand of the Almighty G-d and Creator. That's what the scripture means when it says G-d made man from clay. We play with clay. We shape clay into any form we want. A rock can fall on soft, raw clay and it will leave an indentation there. Trash can blow against stiff clay and the trash will stick there. That clay has no power of its own. It is subject to everything happening outside of it.
Now let me tell you, most of you, of this modern world, you have been reduced to clay again. You're nothing but babies. A new fashion comes out and that fashion can make you wear any sugarcane-looking pants, pants looking like folks now, you see your brother walking down the street look like two sugar canes walking together. That was few years ago. Fashion change again and that brother will put on something so big and wide look like he got on a dress. That's clay. That's a baby mind.
Television starts showing and exposing you to a lot of war activity in a land where war is real, and you pick it from TV with your clay self. Raw, wet, fresh clay. And execute it in your community where war is not real, it's only an act, a play thing. And as soon as the National Guard come out with all those tanks and real stuff, "Hey, man. They for real, man." What's happening? This thing real, man."
Now, the one that comes out with the tanks, he's dry clay, baked clay. He's not wet, fresh clay. He's clay too now. He's clay that has been burnt in the oven. Burnt hard. He's so brittle that you can't hardly bend it, you can only break it. G-d wants neither clay. He neither wants the wet clay or does He want the hard, bland, dry clay. He wants that clay that has received in it, the breath of divine light. That's what grows in clay, a man and a woman. I hope you can understand what I'm talking to.
Before going further into our talk of what man actually is and means, I want to relate to you an experience that I had as a child while on the trolley car in Chicago. Now some of you probably don't know anything about trolley cars but it's been around so long. I'm 41 years old. As a young man, I rode trolley cars. But in Chicago, that great city, I can call it great now because it took its hat off to The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, may peace and blessings be on him.
In Chicago, we didn't call them trolley cars. We called them street cars. And just like us, we don't have enough patience to call a thing by a long name. We just called them big red. There were painted red in those days. I was on the street car and I noticed a woman.
I don't think I was more than about maybe 10 or 11 years old, maybe even a little younger. I noticed this Caucasian woman. She might have been White, but I know she was Caucasian. I noticed this Caucasian woman who was hiding her hand as she was trying to pick out change. She was an old Caucasian woman. And I thought she was just trying to hide her money like old people do when they get old. They know they don't have the physical strength nor the mental ingenuity to bring that bread in anymore, so they hold onto those few pennies they have left, you see.
So, she was just like a typical old lady that had nothing but a few pennies left to live on. She was searching for the right fare to give the conductor. And I noticed her trying to cover up the hand and I got a look at it. She had to take her hand away. When I looked at her hand, the hand had dark black, blackness in it. It was really dark, like a dark black. I remember that, it stuck in my mind. I said, this woman, she's not hiding a disease, she's hiding black in her white. She didn't want the black to be seen on the white.
And I know some of our people, Black people, so-called Black people with pigmentation problems, they call it, what is it, pigmentation deficiency or something, and the light spots be in their faces. But I recall noticing the Blacks with the big, light spots in their faces. That was during my childhood days too when Black was something that nobody acted like they were proud of. Everybody was trying to be White.
Conk in their heads. You probably don't even know what conk is, most of you now. That used to be a word that every Black man knew. Conk. That's that stuff they put on their head, and they have to grease their faces and every other exposed spot to keep it from blistering the rest of the head, you see. And they comb that stuff into your hair, until your hair looked like White folks' hair.
Anybody that went daily through, or weekly, some of them had to go through it daily because you know how hot we get in the summertime and even in the wintertime. We have some of the most, what is the word for that, continuous? No active, perspiration, I think of any people on Earth. We're just strong in every way, you see. And that powerful acid with that conk and you could almost see it moving. I'm going to tell on him. The first time I saw Minister Farrakhan he had a conk, and it was a pretty one. He had one. I'm being serious.
That's right. We know the Western world, they are almost the founders of psychology in modern history. Although the real founders of the study of the human psyche, the psychic make up were those people who lived along the banks of the Nile, in the days of Rena, the great Black builder of the first period. They were the ones that described the non-physical life working in the physical body that they identified as the real person, the real man.
The rest of the world picked it up and developed it. And Mr. Sigmund Freud, whose name tells you exactly what he was, a fraud, he stole it and tried to kill any connection between himself and history. But he failed, just as all frauds will fail. Because G-d rules against all frauds.
So, when see this sin as a deception in our mind that came into us under the rules of White Supremacy, a grafted mentality, we can't help but admit that it's a miracle that a Black man can stand up with a White man, knowing what took place, understanding what took place, and shake his hand. Call him Mr. Brown or Mr. Black. Not many White people are called White. You'll find more so-called Negros with the name White than you do White folks.
And accept him and go on, have it carrying on your business with him without any problem manifesting itself. That's a miracle. That's indeed a miracle. If you understood the depths and extents of the mental destruction that went on in our minds under the rule of White Supremacy, you wouldn't leave here without telling us, "Look, Mister, I want you to know from now on, I'm a Muslim." Not a one of you would leave here accepting to be identified as anything else but a Muslim.
We have to wake up, and this is wake up time. We have been hung up with the label and that name as a label or as a symbol but we have not understood the definition, the real meaning of the word. Mind, in ancient days, as you read it in the scripture, was called, Man. And when the scripture says, "G-d created Man." It is saying He created "Mind." And the teachings that you read in the scripture, of Eve being a creation out of Man, or a rib out of the man, is referring to the Western Church.
"Oh, Mister, that's in Genesis, not in the New Testament." That's right. The New Testament is in Genesis too. But I don't have time to go into all that today. You just keep following us. Join us in our MGT classes and in our FOI classes and you'll get the whole truth.
When scripture it says, "G-d made Man", it is saying G-d made mind in the flesh of the body. And if G-d doesn't make mind in the flesh of the body, the mind is turned on by the Creator to see. And if G-d's knowledge, wisdom, divine knowledge doesn't enter that mind, that mind, because it's turned on to feed, is going to feed on whatever's out here in the environment. And in feeding on whatever's in the environment, that mind is going to grow into a freak, an artificial human.
Everything was created naturally, brother and sister. Eve in the Bible is the personification of physical creation, is the personification that is a cryptic description under a name. It is the description of the physical creation or label identifying physical creation and it is a label identifying the Western Church. It also has some other connections too because over the long period of time, different writers, different translators, they have been feeding their influence, new influence into the story that was once original.
Originally, Eve in scripture meant the emotional make-up of the person. It meant that part of the person that reacts in the human body or in the mental make-up of the person, like wind and song act in the physical world. Some winds are gentle and they carry fertile life, pollen, from one place to another, and they help the growth of life and they feel good to your body. Such movement of sentimentality in us is good and healthy. Then the other winds that are hard and violent, like tornadoes and hurricanes. They throw the man off the throne of power within his own body. They knock him down and throw him around in the body of his own world like strong winds will knock around trash.
So, in the book, G-d says that it was just this storm, this stormy nature in man that caused Adam to fall. The man fell because he started giving his attention, his mind, his intellect to the forces of the winds of his emotions and they blew him off the throne of the kingdom that's within. We have a stormy world today, brothers and sisters. Eve is in control. But Adam is waking up.
Wait, I'm going to get back to color, don't worry, but that's part of the winds of Eve too. Some of us can't think but see in color. You heard the expression color-blind? Well, I hope we don't become a color-blind people because if we do, we give ourselves back to the rule of grafted mentality, the color consciousness of White Supremacy.
Let me continue on this now. What does Woman mean now? Woman. Looking in your Webster's Dictionary and you'll see the pronunciation of woman is given, woo-man. Woman. We say woe-man but the correct pronunciation is woo-man. W-O-O-M. Woo-man. Woman. We say woe-man. Why do we say, by habit, woe-man? Especially in the Black community. You hardly ever hear somebody say woo-man in the Black community, it's always woe-man. "Get out of my face, woman."
But if you go to the Blacks from Harvard and Yale somewhere, you find them saying, "Woman." Woo-man, you see? They have been given a new hat. Woman means womb, W-O-M-B, the correct pronunciation is womb. Womb-man. Womb of man. Man meaning mind. Womb of mind. My sister, I'm here to do what women liberation can never do for you. Hold up.
Not because they don't have the natural gifts to do it or the natural intelligence and know-how to do it. They do have that. But they haven't been able to get out of the dark of this world's false concept. But G-d has us blessed to come out of that dark.
Woman means womb of mind. Every woman is by nature designed to be the womb of mind. The womb of mind. Whether you are a female, or whether your sex is male or female. That is if you are physiologically male or female. This is a topic that falls under the heading of physiology, not psychology, not the mind. Whether you are male or female, as a mind or as a psychic creature, psychic creation, you were born in the womb of the female.
So, the ancient teachers had this knowledge and they went about guiding the society in the right way. That is to first learn how to identify what is the nature of the individual. They first identified the nature and the workings that went on in the individual and that gave them the knowledge of how the society operates and if something goes wrong, what they should do to correct it. We're talking about the ancient masters right now.
The mind develops, the child is first flesh in the mother. It comes out as a fresh, new mind. Is that right? Like wet, fresh clay. And it goes under the mother, and if the father wants to hurt its growth, then try to take over its rearing from the mother. Some fathers will do that and you're doing the worst thing that you could ever do to hurt the growth of your child. No father should ever take over the rearing of his children from the mother, especially when they are under the age of 12, 12 or under. Their nature is to be fed by mother and not by father. And if you interfere with that, you're going to hurt the healthy development of that child.
It is better for a weak, savage, healthy mother to raise your child than for you being well-bred and smelling good to take over that rearing from her. I'm telling you something that's for your own good. The Almighty Creator, in designing this creation, He gave the mind first to the female, that she could do her job and then release it into the world of the male.
Now sisters, after you have done your job or while you are doing your job, if you try to do your job in such a way that it makes it impossible for the male to project that product as a teacher, then you are doing the worst thing that you could possibly do. You are giving destruction into the hand of society. The man can't do what you have undone. He can't do what you've failed to do. If you give him something that you have worked on and made it a destructive tool of just male, of just man, of just manhood, then when he gets it there is nothing for him to do but bust its head, throw it in jail and keep it down in the streets.
I'm here to tell you this, you are killing your children because you don't know the proper way to raise them. You don't know because you don't know the makeup or the design of the machinery, we call human beings. And since you don't know the design, you don't know the makeup of that machinery, you just destroy it when you try to operate it.
Let us continue now. Every female is a man, is a mind, just as every male is a mind. Most females just by nature are woe-men. Woman means woe unto mind, a curse on mind. Many females, that's a woman by nature, are by divine design. But many of you have become woe-man because of the grafted mentality that you live under. You have become a curse to mind. Your young men can't develop in the home like they should because you are a curse on their mind. I'm telling you the truth, dear sister.
It's time for us to wake up and come out of that false, artificial world that forms us as an artificial human being. A world of artificial humanism. A world of lies. Everything we live off of, as a rule of life, is not directly approved to restore the natural cultivation of the human life within you. It has become indirect proof of the destruction of your being.
The book says that G-d made Man to be ruler in the Earth. Says He made the man and He gave him dominion over the land and over the sea, over the fish in the sea, over the fowl in the air. No flesh and blood physical body, no matter how well it's developed, without a well-developed mind, develops into a productive man. You will find yourself being hooked by fish. And the birds in the air, they will be stepping on you and helping you.
Some of us just can't think out of the physical. If human beings are great because theyre physically great, then how come the ape ain't ruling the world? I'd like to see any man go to the zoo and spend the night with one of those big, grown up apes. You'll soon find out how much of a muscle man you are.
If the ape doesn't lift your body up he'll make a punk out of you. But you're superior to him because G-d didn't make you flesh. He made you in flesh.
He made you mind. All Praise is due to Allah. Let me uh, stop for a minute and go back to grafting by Yacub that dates much further back then the Yacub you have learned something about.
There was once a Yacub who came down from the north, in Asia. Into the lands around the Indus Valley which is now called India. They tried to defeat those Blacks and they couldn't do it with physical force. So, they studied, as all wise conquerors will do. They studied the knowledge, the book, the language, of those people until they found a weakness.
They picked up the ancient scriptures that you can find, and a modern interpretation of it or a loose interpolation of it in the Bible right today. They picked it up and they read it. Now before telling you exactly what the scripture was and what this weakness was, I want to give you a kind of allegorical word here so that you can see what we're talking about here. Allegorical means using physical images, using physical pictures to tell a story that is not physical but mental of something else, abstract.
Now, I just want you to go along and follow me in this exchange. Now, I am in charge of something and there are a lot of problems coming up. So, I tell my workers, "Bring all the facts. Put them on the table." They bring all the facts and they put them on the table. Now, we have a problem. These facts are like answers in themselves. These facts are part of our problem. What we have when we put them all together, we would see our plan because when we put, conceive them together, it makes a form and permits you to identify that form. Is that right?
Okay, so I say, "Come. Put all the facts on the table." I sit and I look into the piles of facts and I absorb the piles of facts into my head, and those piles of texts and teachings are just swirling around in my head . And I sit, and I concentrate and then after awhile, lightning flash. And the two foreign natures work together. One charge negatively, the other charge positively, and when the lightning flashed it pushes out, with it's heat and it's force, all the piecemeal particles of facts. And when that happens, it thunders, boom, within my head. And after a while I begin to see the scroll.
The ancients, they describe this because they already had a knowledge of what happens in the physical world. Don't think the religious people were fools. The religious people were the wisest people on earth. They were masters of the sciences. That's what enabled them to be masters of the humankind. So they give in the scripture in other language, but it means actually that your mind will be clouded with confusion, piecemeal facts. And they'll form in your head like clouds. Dark. Absent of the light of knowledge and truth.
But if you apply your willpower and the power of your intellect divinely, pretty soon the friction will cause a flash of light. That's a flash with an answer. And it will flash in those confused piecemeal thoughts of confusion, and when that happens you say, "G-d, I got it."
Congregation:
He got it.
IWDM:
You acknowledging it with your mouth "G-d, I got it man". Give me that pen. Let the ink hit the page."
Congregation:
He's got it man.
IWDM:
So, the old ancient people, they say that "When the lightning flashed out of the East even unto the West, so shall the coming of the Son of man be". Because when that lightning flash, thunder is going to roll, the darkness in the minds of the people are going to burst with thunder. "G-d, he got it."
Congregation:
He got it. He got it.
IWDM:
They're going to acknowledge the coming of the Son of man with a loud thundering roar.
Congregation:
He got it.
IWDM:
And right after that acknowledgement, they're going to see raindrops feed the earth. Not the physical earth. This is the microcosm. The scripture is talking about the macrocosm and not the microcosm.
Congregation:
I have to agree minister. He got it.
IWDM:
Yes, the rain is going to fall from the pen of the wise on the paper so it can be distributed, propagated among the people and feed the earth of human minds.
Congregation:
Go ahead Supreme Minister.
IWDM:
Preacher, if you hear me out there. If you don't know this, close up your book right now and come and let me teach you something. I'm not boasting. I have nothing to boast of, of myself. I was born as clay. I came from my mother, from a females womb. I knew nothing about the creation or anything until my eyes came open to the physical world and the word from the atmosphere of the physical environment began to pour in the fertile soil of the physical mind.
And when The Honorable Elijah Muhammad began to rain down on the soil of my mind. Prayers to G-d and raising up past the sun the wisdom the Qur'an and the scripture, raised the dark seed within the soil of my mind bursts and spring forth. It first appeared in the soil of my mind and it appeared as a pale of light. It hadn't taken on all the 6 colors of the sun but in time it took on a seed in the light of divine truth and took on all the colors of the universe. And then it took on another. That makes seven. And made it complete.
It's not because of anything that I had invented or discovered, it's because I was a good receptor, a good receiver. An open minded, open mouth crying baby, crying up to that bright being that originated the heavens and the earth. Trusting divine knowledge that exists in the pages of the Holy Quran, going on the divine word that I had received from my father who told me when I was a little child. He said, "Wallace, Master Fard told me The Holy Qur'an is a pure and perfect book. The Bible has been corrupted but the Holy Qur'an is pure.
I went on that and I followed that book. I digested what I got out of that book. I let it rain on me and I didn't push back anything. Whether I understood it or not, I left my mind open to it. And because of that I am the Master now. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Congregation:
Allahu Akbar.
IWDM:
All right. All right. Let's think now. You have pictures before you there. The big picture is the picture of Master Fard, the teacher of Master Elijah Muhammad. You see, I didn't design this. I didn't order this. I let G-d order it. You see, this picture is physically bigger than that picture but it doesn't mean that this picture manifest itself in 1930, '31, '32 and '33 as big as that one did in 1974. Hold up.
And both these pictures are physically bigger than that one. That's my old funny looking face there. Now, if you want a big physical picture, go your way and I'll go my way, but if you want a big mental picture come on with me and we will sup together.
Congregation:
Teach Supreme Minister.
IWDM:
All Praises be to Allah. I'm getting ready to close this out. Not that I desire to do so but some things are regulated beforehand. But before closing out, I want to go back to the color problem and just have a little fun with it for a couple of minutes. They say that blond hair, blue eyes, and pale skin is recessive, I think they call it. Recessive. What does the word recessive mean? It means that something is coming out that was in a long, long time ago. And it's coming out, manifesting itself. It wasn't able to dominate in the person, but every so often a bit of it will show up.
What does that tell us? It tells us something that some of you might not be prepared to hear. It tells us, by their own language, not my language. This theory of genetic recession, dominant genes and recessive genes is not mine. That's from the world of Caucasian mentality. But everything they have found is not artificial truth . They have found enough real truth. They wouldn't be as great as they are today if they hadn't found some real truth. That is as a Nation As powers as a Nation.
Recessive means dating back. Now, dominant means superior. Is that right?
Congregation:
Yeah.
IWDM:
So, if pale skin and pale eyes and pale hair... I know the language. I know what I'm saying. If pale skin and pale eyes and pale hair represent recessive genes or pigmentation, then that tells us... That's my brother there. He's all right.
Congregation:
Yes. That's right. Go ahead Supreme Minister.
IWDM:
When we're talking about physical strength we must admit, if we're going to follow that theory that mental strength was before physical strength. And we know that a baby is not born physically strong. He grows up later to be physically strong. So the Caucasian, in the rationale process, appears to be the superior in the earth. I mean, mechanical rationale. Mechanical rationale. I want this to be clear.
He appears to be the superior. And he doesn't deserve all the credit for it now. He had firm knowledge to stand on and build on but he got some of his knowledge from the people of Asia and what is called Africa. But as a physical creature he is weaker than the so-called African man. They should stop worrying about trying to defeat Muhammad Ali. We have enough to be proud of. You defeated the whole world with our mechanical rational process. Be proud of that.
Congregation:
That's right.
IWDM:
And now if you have the dominant minds respecting to accept us and this nation and open your televisions up to it, and give us the opportunity to reach the people, the public, all people, your babies as well as our babies, then you should be proud also of that. I'm sure that the wise of the learned of the Caucasian world, they are wise enough to know that what I have to say will reshape the mind in the body. They know that their children if listening to me, are under my power that has been given to me by Divine power.
That they have submitted, they have delivered the children back to the master. They say, "Teach them master. We have no objection." You should be proud of this. And any black man and woman recognizing that the Caucasian have done this should respect them because they are worthy of respect.
Congregation:
That's right.
IWDM:
No Caucasian people under the rule, under the power of color consciousness could muster up the human strength and the divine strength to open up televisions, to open up white homes and expose their babies to the words coming from the mouth of this so called Negro Wallace D. Mohammed. No white man has done that. A man has done that. All Praises be to Allah. Let's have a little fun with color. You hear the thunder up there?
Congregation:
Yes sir.
IWDM:
Don't worry. It will do nothing but express its delight. The physical heaven is delighted. It's been waiting for a long time to hear a man speak on earth.
Congregation:
Yes sir.
IWDM:
Once I was at the zoo and I saw...I don't know what you call it. There's some family of the gorilla, related to the gorilla, I believe. But this thing really attracted me. It had the most beautiful face of any creature resembling in some wise a man than anything I've ever seen. Indian, African, Aborigine. Nobody has been able to decorate their face with the art and the beauty, with the genius that I saw in the color decorations of this ape or some kind of ape that I saw.
Beautiful red, bright and beautiful, and beautiful blue, and orange, and yellow. I think I remember the colors right. These colors were just so well organized in the face of this gorilla or something, I don't know. What is it?
Congregation:
Orangutan.
IWDM:
Orangutan?
Congregation:
Mandrill.
IWDM:
Mandrill?
Congregation:
Mandrill.
IWDM:
Mandrill he said. Well, I couldn't ask him his name. I'd have to go a book to get his name. But he certainly had an attractive face. Now, how does a man look, with his superior mind, showing off the colors of his face, "I'm white. I'm better because I'm white." Your face doesn't look as beautiful as that Mandrills face. I hope I got the right name. And anybody else with a face. No human being has a face that beautiful.
And I noticed that animal. He looked at me as if he was conscious of his color superiority. I looked at him, he looked at me nasty and proud like. An arrogant Mandrill. With nothing but pretty colors in his face and no sense in his head. I've watched TV you know. Sometimes they will have spokesmen on there for the Klan, spokesmen for the White Citizens Council. And they will be on there trying to advance the philosophy, the mentality of white supremacy.
And they be trying to tie us in with the monkeys. Their following must be mighty, mighty ignorant. I thought a job was done on us. Well, I think the job been done on them equally as bad. Even as a child I was able to see that all monkeys didn't have the same color faces. Some got pink ]faces. Some got black faces, red faces, brown faces. They say "Well, what about that ape? He got a black face." Okay then, we came from that strong ape. That big old strong ape. And you came......???
Congregation:
Allahu Akbar.
IWDM:
And if I keep on thinking about it, I may have to just say you came from all of them. Because even that black skinned ape got straight hair. And I didn't come here with no straight hair. I got that from you. You see how silly it is to get your mind all drunk on physical color, go out in the animal world trying to find a theory to apply to the support of white supremacy and enslavement of dark people. And it turns out your theory is the most foolish thing anybody ever came up with.
Black people come from monkeys. Because they got dark mouths, big mouths. They got thin lips, big mouths and thin lips. They got long hair like the African. Typical African hair. Not all of them. Some of them they're so flat in the back look like he been sleeping on a stone all his life. And most of them got flat... well, I started to say the wrong thing. But you can find some flesh buttocks even among the lower primates too. Even color consciousness in the Caucasian world is a lie, even to himself.
They tell you to interpret it as one thing but he acts just the opposite . His actions are contrary to what he claims he believes in. Talking about that peacock brained white supremist. He likes to wear black tuxedo. Sit down at the table and eat the most expensive caviar, black caviar. You must have some terrible things going on in your mind Mr. White Supremist. I don't see how you can rest at night. Your mind trying to travel one road and your actions are going against the line of travel.
Well, I don't think any of us are proud of blackheads. I don't see how the white man can be proud of white pus and it burst out of one of his bumps. White supremist you can't convert him to human sense, you can't bring him to life out of his wet clay. Nah, he's not wet clay, he's hard baked clay with no breath of G-d in him. I'd like to bring a bunch of them in a room and ask "You like white? Have some kind of dump truck come and dump a whole load of white maggots in a small room with them. And when they come out of there they won't have no white problem. They'd want to see anything but white. Even in their dreams they wouldn't want to see anything white after an experience like that. It's silly. And as black people we should be proud of the strength that we have to get up out of physical mindedness and stand up into knowledge, wisdom, understanding, divine reality. And as Caucasian people, they should be proud that they're able to stand up from that grafted mentality and accept the reality of all of us being one human family. Brothers and sisters in my conclusion I will briefly identify the very ancient Yacub. The Caucasians from the North came down on the dark people around the hotness in Asia, that was in India. Failing to defeat them with physical force, they went back and studied the wisdom, the knowledge. You see, a peoples knowledge is their strength. You're no stronger than your knowledge. So, they went back and studied their knowledge. The world in ancient days is much like it is today, only this respect it was worst. Only a few people held the knowledge. Society was young and they didn't trust the knowledge with the many. Only a few had the knowledge and that few directed the people with as much knowledge as they thought the people could bear.
The majority of the people were babies in knowledge. I'm talking about in our world or abode. So, when the Caucasian came down with the knowledge of the Dravidians, the ancient Black people of the Indus Valley in India, Asia. When they came down with their knowledge and with new interpretation of it, they began to feed it to the Black people of the ancient world and the Black people began to be frightened and though the Caucasians were superior now, that G-d almighty had sent to punish them for their wrongs and take over their world. In scripture these people felt the sun in the sky represented knowledge. Their bodies of divine knowledge. Night represented ignorance, the absence of that divine knowledge. They didn't arrive at this kind of language because of any interest in night as a physical color as blackness or in the sun as a physical color called whiteness. They arrived at this kind of language because of the setting of the nature of the sun and the nature of darkness.
The sun is not only a source of light that enables us to have knowledge by what is around us when day comes, but it's also a source of energy and warmth. It comforts us, it feeds us with energy that makes weak physical life grow strong. So, these ancient people used the sun as a symbol of their G-d. Not that G-d in body but their G-d in the body of that divine knowledge. And darkness represented the absence of that. The Aryan people, they gave their interpretation of those people scripture and spread it to the common people. And where their scripture was identifying a certain path, a society of people as people who are just weak-minded and weak morally and don't want truth because truth is why you develop morally. No man can keep growing in real knowledge and remain small morally. Any man that grow in real knowledge and remain small morally, he hasn't even grown the knowledge that he has been following. He has been growing mechanically.
Now just hold on a minute. But the conquerors from the North, they said that in the Dravidic scriptures, where it says that there are children of the light and children in the darkness, the children of darkness are you Black folk, the children or light are us, Caucasian, the Aryans. Because the people were babies in knowledge and they saw that these people were advancing, they gave into it. They began to believe it themselves, that G-d had sent the Caucasians down to punish them and that were really the children of light and the original inhabitants were the children of darkness or ignorant. This is not accepted by G-d. That made it possible for the Aryan people to trigger Aryan white supremacy on the minds of that ancient so-called Black people and they won control in their country.
The new white supremacy, the modern white supremacy that brought the Ku Klux Klan terrorism and all of the other horrible rituals that we hear are coming from them, from what I understand. This new world of white supremacy, of grafted Caucasian mentality is the rebirth of the old. The Western Caucasians looking for something else to give him an additional weapon and power to conquer the world came upon the old people of that ancient Yacub, and patterned themselves after the defendant of the ancient Caucasian people. They did even a more masterful job on the white supremacist mentality. They made it even more powerful, more effective. They identified us as lower people and spread that kind of thinking among the ignorant of our people, and whether we accept it or not, it influenced our behavior.
But they did even more than this. They put a white man, a typical Caucasian, a representation of the real Caucasian stock. Blue eyes, blonde hair, pale skin. They put him on the cross as a divine image so Black people in the church would feast their eyes on. I don't have time to tell you all of what you should know, but you've heard enough to recognize that what I tell you is not only relevant, but it is vital if we are to survive. But we can't go over the whole teachings with you, but if you've got any worth in you as a man, as a mind, both male and female, you won't rest until you get back to us and hear some more of this teaching.
The ancient people, the masters in religion, they saw the efforts working in the society to try to graft a color consciousness across color superiority. They saw this effort, they identified it in their prophecy and they told of the evil that it would bring about on Earth. They told it right in the Bible and they told of the evil consequences that would fall down upon the builder of that false world of social concepts fraught with destruction to human life. They told of the end of it. They saw their path and they knew their end. And believe it or not church people, the church has been stronghold of the power of white supremacy and diabolic consciousness, believe it or not.
You must not be a Muslim mister. Real Muslims in the East, they respect Christians and The Holy Qur'an says beautiful things about Christians. That's correct. I'm not talking about Christians, I am talking about the image of the devil that reigned in the first language of the church and it's backed up by a Caucasian image to support the white mentality. Making evil that is weaved into the language of the church religion. I am not condemning Christians, Christians as a whole are very good people. Morally, spiritually. Christians are some of the best people on the face of the Earth. In fact, many Christians are much better than many Muslims. So, labels don't mean nothing unless you are true to your label.
The problem with the church is not the beautiful teaching of the master Jesus Peace be Upon him. The problem is that interpretation, that symbolic language that is organized in the Bible and organized in the Christian language to advance color consciousness for the rule of white supremacy all over the world. That's the devil that whitens human minds when human minds should be pure and colorless like air and pure water. And we can't reform or correct that kind of mentality, we can only destroy it. That devil cannot be saved, it has be destroyed. And if you apply yourself with all the power that you can muster from yourself and every other helper you can get and you will do us no harm, you will only raise yourself sooner and advance the glory of the new body Christ, The Nation Of Islam in America. As Salaam Alaikum.
Thank you. Thank you, thank you. Thank you so much. Important announcement that I have to make myself because it is proper that I make it myself. We have been making changes and shifts in the local administration of the Nation of Islam for the last two or three months now. We are doing what we deem wise and proper to do. And though we accept outside questions concerning our decisions, we don't have to answer every question you ask. Because this is our responsibility not yours. We don't have any foreign parents over our house anymore. We have come to be your daddy and your mother. Not that we have a need to mother and daddy you, but you have a need to be mothered and daddied.
Why does the Nation do this? Why is Mr. Mohammed doing this? Why is he fixing this? Why is he changing policy? We change anything we want to change. We are not accountable in this administration, this Missionary is not accountable to anybody but G-d Almighty Himself. And if man with any sense or any intelligence at all, if he watch our maneuvers, he will see the wisdom in it and he will do nothing but applaud our movement. Anybody's who's critical, he's just too swayed by politics, by the business of politics or maybe he's just a devil. If I would leave you where I found you, I would be so cruel that I don't think no punishment would be too much for me. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, he referred to the Nation of Islam as a baby nation. And if the Nation of Islam in America is a baby nation, then the Black communities in the Nation of Islam is a baby with its navel cord still waiting to be cut.
So, if I left you there, look how cruel I'd be. The book says you found me wallowing in my own dirt, my navel cord had not been cut. But you cut navel cord and washed me of my blood. Cleaned me up and then dress me in fine garments.
We have a hard working, able, unwavering Minster in Philadelphia, Minster Muslim Jeremiah Shabazz. And I said Muslim before his name because we are first Muslims and anything else we are, we are that because of the consequence of Islam in our lives. I've heard a lot of talk about this man. They tried to connect him with some kind of Black mafia in Philadelphia. I'd known him years ago, 15 or 17 years or more ago and when I met him after coming into the office of the Supreme Minster of the Nation of Islam, Minster Jeremiah, he looked like the same man that I met and talked with long time ago, I said, "I don't believe these lies." I didn't tell him, I said it in my own heart. Then I told him, I said, "Minister Jeremiah, if it's true, clean up. We only have so much time to do then, judgment is upon all the dregs and residue of Caucasian mentality, that grafted Caucasian mentality. Judgment is on it and we carry any of their poison and corruption into this Nation Of Islam, it will mean the doom of those who hold on to it."
I said, "I have no evidence and I accept you word." He said "Like at every other place there are some that breaks laws and get in trouble. But when we find them, we correct it or remove them from among us." If you can correct a criminal, you deserve more credit than meeting him at the door and setting him out of the Temple saying "You have a bad criminal record, we can't let you in." We are not the ones to look into the hearts of these people and say who's going to be right and who's going to be wrong. I don't care what you've been doing. You could have been shooting dope in your arms or somebody else helpless arms. Selling it to somebody or using it yourself. Killing yourself or killing your buddy. I don't care what you've been doing. If you want to come here and listen to me, they better open the door, or I'll move them out of the way. Or it might be that they might be so strong or grown so strong one day. I doubt it, that they'll prevent me from pushing them away from the door so you can get in. But when that day comes, I'll leave them with the door.
Minister Farrakhan:
This is an audit of the new world order. And now brothers and sisters, it is only right that we hear from the Mayor's assistant of New York City or the Commissioner Walt deputized by Mayor Beame proclamations this day to you. Would you be patient and listen to Commissioner Walt.
Commissioner Walt:
Thank you Mr. Farrakhan. This is a very momentous day for the Nation of Islam and it's a momentous day for the City of New York. The City of New York is delighted to-
Minister Farrakhan:
Brother and sisters, again, I must ask and must I insist that respect be shown to those who are respecting and honoring us. And I don't want any movement out of this auditorium. So, everybody that's moving, you can take a seat right now and let all the guards make sure that nobody moves until this is over. Excuse me, but it is highly improper for such movement at this time. I realize you are tired, but we have waited over 400 years to hear a message that came to us today and for all the hell that we have caught in white America and for all of the pain and the trouble and the trial and tribulations that the Honorable Master Elijah Muhammad had suffered in America to get this message to us,whenever a member of city government, whether he is white or Black wants to pay honor to the memory of that Noble man, it behooves us as followers of him to respect this. Thank you. I don't mean to raise my voice, but sometimes we have to be firm and we have to stern. Commissioner Walt with your permission. Commissioner Walt.
Commissioner Walt:
Thank you. Of course, I could suggest that you stay to 10:00 tomorrow they're going to have the fight fans from around the world and we should stay right on here and see Muhammad Ali tomorrow night remain the heavyweight champion of the world. But it is a monumental day for the Nation of Islam and for the City of New York and I call upon all New Yorkers and all members of the world to look today to at urban America and look at the degradation of the streets and look what's happening and then come here and look at the Nation of Islam and see what they see here. Right here in New York City in our public school system, we spend $5 million a year not to teach, not for books, not for education but simply to pay the damage, the vandalism done to those schools. Look at that and then look at these, University of Islam, and let the world see the difference.

I think it's significant that probably in not too distant past the Nation would not have asked the City of New York...
