By Imam W. Deen Mohammed
With Allahs name, the praise and the thanks is for G-d, we thank Him for the gift and blessing of the model human person Muhammad (pbuh), the honorable and noble servant and Messenger of G-d and what follows of that salute or that traditional salutation to the last Prophet (pbuh), the seal of the Prophets mentioned in the Bible as it is given in the Quran.
Fall season of fruits, produce, it is the giving of charity
We are having beautiful for temperature and even the beauty of the environment, this is in my opinion the best of all seasons. Springtime is lovely, its great but I think fall is even better and I think that is why Satan influenced the language and had it call Fall. It is the falling of the leaves, the falling of the fruits or the produce, it is the giving of charity, help against greed that brings on the winter.
The warm hearted will be ruled by the greedy ones who collect the harvest not only of the field but collect the harvest of human count, collect the harvest of human soul, the human intellect, he collects everything. That is not even in the nature of the human person in his true body, mind and nature, that is not in his ability to even think that way, that is to think exploring and exploiting human life, non-human life and the natural world to gain power and control over all people and all nations, that is not a human, that is why scripture wont call him a human it calls him the beast, the demon, Satan, Shay?an, serpent, dragon etc.
Faith moved mountain of shirk
Elijah Muhammad was G-ds intervention over world rule
I now begin the second part of this first Sunday, it is to address the in-house audience. Not the radio audience so you shouldnt be hasty to take what you get here and give it to the outside you should realize that Allah swt through the son of Elijah and Clara Muhammad has given you gifts that is not intended for everybody. Why you? Because you are the ones who had the courage to break your bonds with the white world or with the world, we say white world but that was and still is the world, and leave behind you your previous idea of what you should worship, your church life and follow patiently and in good spirit the new leader who told you were living in the end of time, this worlds rule is over. And you remained, you had the faith in him and they say faith can move mountains, by certainly not accepting Jesus Christ as G-d was a mountain, and your faith moved that mountain.
For many poor souls from Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi stopped eating pork chops that they hardly got but once or twice a year and to stop eating chitlings, knuckles and all of that other stuff, that was certainly a mountain. That faith the Honorable Elijah Muhammad gave you gave you the strength to move that mountain. I can go on naming the things that were strong and monumental in your life that you had to leave behind you, cut loose and you did the job because you wanted to be where the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said we should be, that was powerful. I dont think that is the doing of a man, that cant be the doing of man, man doesnt have the power to affect human life like that. Mr. Fards language that he gave to his student the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was G-ds intervention in the worlds rule over black people.
Slavery justified by Bible story of Noahs cursed son Ham
G-d intervened and He said This is too much for them the satan, the adversary conspired to make this world and life for them and obligated Me, this is G-d speaking, not me, not Wallace, they obligated Me by using My name on their religion and using My name to make people think that I approve of their wrongdoing even the enslavement of a people. They slipped it in very quietly, some churches spoke it out loudly that we are the descendants from Ham and we are the cursed Canaanites in the story of the three sons of Noah and that we are the ones who are silly, fickle, not given to respect serious matters that is how they labeled us, that is how they stamped us. The other two brothers when they saw their father one turned his head, it was so hurting to him to see his father drunk or affected by wine or liquor and left exposed in the nude. He felt so bad seeing his father in that sight he just turned his head from his father and kept going. Isnt that the behavior of many people? When they see a shameful thing it hurts them so bad in their heart they just turn around, turn away from it and just keep going it is too much for them to deal with.
Ham looked at his father and laughed
Ham looked at his father and laughed, now isnt that the behavior we find in some of the stupid people all around us? Sometimes right in the household and mama would tear their behind up saying, You wont be laughing when I get through with you. You would be laughing at important matters or important things. My mother was so fierce, her fury was so dreadful all she had to do was hint that she might be coming at us and we would start crying before she hit us, we knew what that was going to be like and it brought us to cry before she even got to us. We would cry in rhythm, taking turns, one would yell out and the other would come behind.
Africa gave birth to great kingdoms
This brother looked at his father in that shameful picture and he laughs, now you know you dont have to be strong that is why we are not on the airway, I dont want to say thing that will have me in the newspaper and have people thinking that they ought to lock me up in jail or at least condemn me as a person not worthy to be preaching religion or advising people on how they should come to their good life, they would get me. What Im going to do is acknowledge the truth that good, rich continent we call Africa gave birth to
great kingdoms, this is history, once they were the masters of the whole known world. Africans from Ethiopia, Africans from Sudan and there is evidence that they hide that even Africans from the interior of Africa and from the southern part of Africa achieved great feats and became a mighty people and they were the ones who brought their sciences Northward enabling the Egyptians, Ethiopians and Sudanese to benefit from it.
Sphinx father of surroundings
Lion voice roars putting fear in other animals
The sphinx, that great monument by the pyramids of Egypt it is called by the Arabs in the Arabic language Abu hal, Father of all of the surroundings. His body is the body of a lion, the master of the jungle the one who puts fear in all the creatures of the jungle. He had his trick alright, he could roar loud, his voice is powerful but he has been given by nature a wisdom, a sort of science, he digs a big round hole and he hollers or roars into the hole and it vibrates the earth for a distance but the sound is terrific, it is terrifying, it magnifies the volume of his roar many, many times over. The animals are so frightened by his roar they just start getting out of the way, all but that silly monkey who doesnt know how to take matters seriously, really that monkey runs too, everything runs when they hear that powerful lion roaring and using the benefit of a hole to magnify the volume of his roar.
It has the body of the lion and what else does the lion tell us? We know of the Roman empire it was a power based in Rome and it is not that big but it had colonies, governments under the main government all around the known world so much so that they used to brag All roads lead to Rome.
Napoleon shot off nose of Sphinx
Here is the Sphinx with the body of a lion and the head of a typical African, not one mixed with some other blood, broad nose, thick lips, nappy hair. When the Western world began to come into power, got mighty with the invention of unconventional weapons or uncommon weapons at that time it was able to conquer people who had not come into that kind of possession or that kind of power. So they brought the fleet, France, Napoleon up to the shores of Africa and brought his soldiers and his canons all the way up to the Sphinx and when he saw that black man sitting up there and didnt know how that black man accomplished what he did, didnt know how he made paints that wouldnt deteriorate - - I am telling you what I saw myself inside the pyramid.
Paints on the wall that wouldnt deteriorate, last for thousands of years looking beautiful and fresh and how he invented brooms to sweep the house, dust pan thousands of years old, this is what I saw myself. Nice designed furniture, chairs, sofa and if you brought the same chair and put it in your store window there would be people who would buy it, the design is so good, so artistic and so beautiful in its design you would be wanting to buy that chair that I saw that was made at least two thousand or more years ago. They were envious and jealous saying How did they accomplish all of this?
They were told that Africa was a land occupied by black beasts and black demons their bosses would tell them that to keep them out of Africa and to keep their ego strong, they didnt want to hurt their psyche. They told them That land is a land of savages when they had gone before them and found out it was a land of science and great achievements for human beings, but they knew that if their common people would ever hear that it would damper their spirit, it would do damage to their psyche, it would hurt their ego so much that they wouldnt be any good for themselves or anybody else. Just think what slavery was designed to do for our spirit, for our mind, for our ego.
He turned his canons on the Sphinx, the evidence of it is still there, you can find it in history, the evidence of his canon firing on the Sphinx is still there, it chipped the nose. Do you think if that was a white mans nose he would have shot it with his canon? He shot it and hoped that nobody would recognize it is a typical African nose.
The blunt nose and the blunt mouth that was too much he couldnt leave it like that, the musician Jagger has big black mamma lips but he doesnt have a big blunt nose. Now if you find both of those in the same face that is too much to stand. Not to leave it there saying He has achieved all of this.
Quran 87.9; Think it is beneficial
Quran 29.45; Thinking on Allah is greatest
Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee and establish Regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.
Quran 96.1-5; Read in the name of your Lord Who created
1. Proclaim! (or Read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created
Quran 57.21; Garden the width of the sky and the earth
Be ye foremost (in seeking) forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden (of Bliss) the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth prepared for those who believe in Allah and His apostles: that is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases: and Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding.
Isnt G-d in His wisdom worth us studying and making a note of? That is why Allah swt says in the Quran Think for surely thinking profits you. It will bring you profit, gain and another verse says in Arabic, Wa la dhekrul laahe akbar, translated, Thinking, reflecting, meditating on G-d is the greatest of all powers, the most rewarding that is of all exercises or all activities because He will connect the whole existence for you and show you the unity of His creation and also the purpose for you in it if you just keep thinking on Him. You cant think on Him as Jesus, we tried that for two hundred and some years and we are still in the soup line on welfare and feeling downhearted.
That is why He told Muhammad pbuh to think, but He didnt tell him to just think without giving him a direction or just think on G-d, He said read in the name of your Lord Who created. So He connected Muhammad pbuh with the external reality, He connected Muhammad pbuh with object outside of his own life, even the stars in the heaven, the trees, the rivers, the mountains and the heavens above everything He connected Muhammad with that, He told him to read. And then He revealed to us through Muhammad pubh by means of or by way of the angel Jibril that He is going to give us a field to work in and He says the expanse of this field is as the expanse of the heavens and the earth.
Good news: Man to engage creation to reproduce science, education
You need at least one hour to be silent to just think on what I just said, I have thought on it all of my life and I continuously think on it. The field to work in that He has prepared for us is the expanse, how big it is, how wide it is, how extensive, it is as the skies and the earth. That is an invitation to His human creature that He made to engage with your mind, with your intelligence, with your moral nature, with your spirit, engage this massive creation, this productive universe. Engage it with your brain. I have created you to engage the world that I made, G-d speaking no me, and I created the world that I made to engage you and I have created you to benefit from My world and I have created My world to benefit from you.
If you become mated, your intelligence mate with My created world you will reproduce you life as mating with your wife and you will produce for your community and for the human society not flesh and blood children from your mortal body but utility in the form of science, education, industry etc., and your life will be improved, advanced and multiplied over and over.
Bible called good news
Jesus crucified not.
This is the wonderful news, that is why the Bible is called good news because Jesus came to open up what Im opening up to you right now, he came to open that up to the people but they robbed him, they pretended they killed him, they pretended they crucified him and they admitted that they robbed him. Where is that in the Bible? They hung him naked that is enough to tell you they robbed him.
Wasnt he a great ruler of honor and respect in the eyes of the people, does he look like that on the cross? No, he looks like Tarzan crucified.
Tarzan says an uncultured white man can become a god over the black man
Tarzan is the comic figure that rules when he speaks the animals obey him and also the Africans, he swings from tree to tree by placing ropes in the trees strategically and he just goes flying all over the jungle giving off a yell. You watch some of the old cartoons, or old movies you will see him maybe now. They are trying to hide him now they are ashamed of what they did, it is hard to find him now. He had a little fig leaf covering his groin, a half naked man almost fully naked, that is how they show you Jesus Christ on the cross, right? What is the meaning of that, what is Tarzan saying? That even an uncultured white man can become a god over the black man because the white man has the nature to work with animals, he doesnt have to be cultured he knows how to work with animals. Black people are nothing but animals so uncultured white man can rule the jungle of the animals and the blacks.
Jesus robbed
What is it saying of Jesus Christ? That they robbed him of his culture. He was sent into the world with a religious culture to give to the people to dress them up as the Hon. Elijah Muhammad said Dress you up in new clothes, dress you up in a new garment, a new and beautiful life. They robbed him of all of that, how was that achieved? Fabricating a story, presenting a lie as the truth saying it came from G-d about Jesus Christ and directing your attention from the real thing to the plan of satan, that is how they robbed him of what he brought to dress the world or dress the people in a new life.
I would take my time, if time belonged to me but it does not.
Let us look at, observe how G-d helps the people, not just us, people before us going all the way back to the first creation, to Adam, himself. How did He help Adam? He helped Adam
by calling Adams attention to the world of many valuable things of great resources, tress a many. The man of the jungle, the savage man hes running around among the trees but all he knows about trees is what the birds know, sometimes he doesnt know what the birds know.
Allah swt introduced Himself to Muhammad pbuh as the Creator not even as Allah swt, praise and thanks to G-d the Lord of all the worlds, the Lord of all systems of knowledge carrying that perception deeper. Not just the Lord of Israel a small people occupying a small part in My creation, all through your bible you hear the Lord of Israel, the lord of Israel, hell no! the Lord of all creation, the Lord of all the worlds! You tell me it is not addressing expanding mans perception and sharpening his perception? I could go on for ten years and not stop and G-d knows Im speaking from reality, my body my not hold up but I wouldnt run out of things to say to you to guide you into more vision, more light, more understanding, more productivity.
Prophets sent to guide man because of satan
If there was not a plan to work against mans intelligence so that the majority are eliminated, excluded, taken out of the race, out of the competition, out of the rewards if there had not been such a plan then G-d would not have designed scripture the way it is designed. But He designed it this way because there is a enemy of mankind, enemy of humankind stepping out ahead of you all the time to create the picture of the world for you to benefit him the enemy, so G-d has to counter the efforts of the enemy by sending you or giving you Messengers and Prophets from Himself to expand your vision so you can see clearly in this world of darkness.
Muhammad told to read twice
So he said read twice. How many of the teachers from the East or from the Arab speaking lands that includes everywhere Muslims are except America this is not an Arabic speaking land, how many from them will tell you, I dont think most of them know themselves. How many will tell you why G-d said Read to him twice. That is because He is answering the bad condition prophesied in scriptures that came before to the people of the Book, Jews and Christians saying darkness spread all over the world. There was no where to find the light and a man came upon a little book, that means he wasnt looking for it, he picked it up and he couldnt read it so he went to somebody who could read letters the scripture, somebody who could read print. And he said Read this for me please, the person said Im sorry I cant read, he was illiterate like he was maybe not to the same degree like he was.
He went to another and finally comes to a person and he said read this for me and the person said I can read the letters but this is sealed. What does seal mean? You have many Muslims and you say anything a camel or donkey rider with sandals and a miswak and a rag tying his head up like hes been damaged in the head, like a bandaged head. This is not to make fun this is to wake up the dead.
If they understood this they should be teaching it, they should be making the connection but they dont have enough knowledge of Quran and Muhammads life tradition to give them the strength, the firmness, the sense of security to face what other people have as revealed wisdom, revealed knowledge, revealed religion. So they wont read a Bible and they keep their people from reading the Bible because they are afraid the Bible may influence them and get converts from their side, so they are missing the connection. In the Bible it says finally he comes to a man and he says I cant read it, it is sealed. It means locked up and you know what locked up means Im sure you know what that means, you cant get out of the lock up unless the authorities who are authorized to have the key come and open the gate or open the cell door or whatever, that is the only way you can get out. Sealed means the knowledge is locked up by the way the language is composed, by the way the knowledge, the meanings, the expressions are composed, it is locked up against all but those who have the key for unlocking the knowledge.
There is an animal hes black, like midnight black and hes slick and smooth and he just slips and slides through the waters, so they call him a seal, right? That is the way its sealed. The one who sealed it is too smooth and too slick for you. G-d helps us by freeing and expanding our vision, our eyesight, our perception of reality.
Eccles. 9.4; A live dog better than dead lion
For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
Also it is written and the Quran is addressing it the seers, the wise of old their wisdom is written, dont think the everything in the Bible came from a Prophet or Messenger it is not like the Quran. The description of the Bible, get a big family Bible and most likely it will have this language it giving you a description of the contents of the Bible, it says its contents is revelation, history and some other subjects. We read the Bible as ordinary people and we read proverbs where the writer or speaker says A living dog is better than a dead lion. Is that from a Prophet? The Bible doesnt say that, it calls that saying an Arab proverb, an Arab saying that is proverbial. I know it because I read from Arab literature the same expression Al kalbun hayyun akbaru men asaden mayten a living dog is better than a dead lion. I dont know about now, you have a dead lion youll more for his paw than you can get for a living dog. You could by maybe a hundred living dogs by taking the paw of a lion that died to the right person.
Expanding the perception, opening the eyes now blindness refers to the ignorance and the scripture speaks of a famine that will spread all over the world and it says it will not be a famine of food, you will not be starving for food but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord, the words of G-d, we can understand that.
Forty means until his nature comes into his conscience
Prophet lived a lifetime among you
Muhammad did not fast forty days
Quran 10.16; Prophet lived a lifetime among you
Say: "If Allah had so willed I should not have rehearsed it to you nor would He have made it known to you. A whole lifetime before this have I tarried amongst you: will ye not then understand?"
Amos 8.11; A famine of hearing the word of G-d
The one who was on the boat sleeping and G-d had given him a job to go to Nineveh, Jonah was given a mission. Do you think that is addressing a particular man? No, it is addressing every human being men and women, all are the servants of G-d called in Arabic Ebaadullah and everyone of us has been created with the nature to serve G-ds purpose for us on this earth. Do you think Muhammad pbuh wasnt serving G-ds purpose for himself before G-d called him? He didnt know of Al Islam, he didnt know of the Quran,
he didnt know how to read scripture and already he was living the excellence of his human creation that G-d gave him. He didnt have to fast for forty days because he kept the good life intact meaning forty years, that is a life time.
The lifetime of the common man is forty years not forty calendar years, but forty years until his nature and what he needs to survive in G-ds creation comes into his conscience, universal four, as four mountains or as four portions of birds put on four mountains, as four winds blowing on dry bones bringing them to have flesh and live again.
G-d has given every creature its needs in four measures or in four days
Good people not in organized religion will get paradise
...the writers of the constitution guide line, that which sets the pattern for the growing constitution of these United States they said inalienable rights everyone has, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Endowed with these properties that cannot be taken away from them by nature. Muhammad pbuh is a living proof that original nature can establish you even without communication, religion or anything from G-d other than his own creation. The creation itself supports human life that is why you find some people they are not interested in church, mosque or nothing else but they go on carrying themselves and being responsible to their families and to their wife, children and household and being responsible to civilized society and live an honorable life and die, you tell me because he didnt know G-d by the name Allah swt or didnt know Jesus Christ that he is going to hell, you are a crazy fool already in hell.
Allahs Messenger our Prophet
G-d found Muhammad pbuh in excellent human condition that He created him for, and Allah swt found him or saw him like that and called him to be a Messenger, a mercy to all the worlds, the last Prophet, our Prophet pbuh. Never say our Messenger I heard somebody say that supposed to be preaching too from this community, he said Our Messenger, no. if you have a messenger buddy you better keep him out of this religion. Allahs swt Messenger pbuh you didnt sent anybody, you did not send Muhammad pbuh, you didnt give him what he preached or what he delivered. You are not the sender so he is not your Messenger he is your Prophet pbuh, what is the difference?
Prophet is a warner, a seer
A Prophet is a warner warning against things to come or opening the eyes to things to come, a seer seeing in the future, that is a Prophet and that ability is in you as it is in every other Prophet. That ability is a common property of human creation. So that ability is property of my own creation, my own nature so if he manifest that in himself he is our Prophet pbuh, that is to say our human person with that special ability thats all. Our human person just like we are, that ability is in all of us but it came out in our leader Muhammad pbuh.
The property of prophethood or that ability was in him before G-d spoke one word to him. How do you know that Imam Muhammad? He looked at his people suffering and he didnt know the religious way to search scripture and find answer because he was not Christian, Jew or anything else of those people, so he was moved in spirit to go away from his people, his country men and go up into a mountain by himself and find a secluded opening, a room there, a hole in the top of the mountain. He went into that hole and sat there away from all of the people and he poured out his pain, his suffering and G-d saw him in that state, he was asking for help. He did not know who to call upon, he did not say Allah swt, he didnt say Moses he didnt say Jesus, he did not know to call on them, but he knew in his nature to go away from his people and not go down but to go up like the eagle so he would have a better view of what is around him. So his ascending up the mountain will tell him the truth about the things he left, they became so small they looked like little birds and rabbit crawling around on the ground when he got way up there in the mountain of the light or the mountain of enlightenment. When he looked down at the people they became like little creatures and that is what they are as measured against the universe, they are nothing but small specks.
So this began to feed his mind and it became broader and broader, his soul was humble by nature, it was not an arrogant soul. The more he saw the more he humbled himself and G-d saw him in that state and spoke to him and said Read Muhammad. When you experience that dimension that brings all intelligence into one stream, one light beam, the five senses and all of its powers concentrate and become one light beam you are able to see what you never thought you could see in your life time. I know the prophetic nature was alive in him because he went up not across town and not downtown, he went up to heaven, up towards the heaven, towards the bigger spaces, he wanted to put his conscience and his sensitivity in the environment of a bigger space and to do that without seers, priests, rabbi or whatever tutoring him and guiding him I know it was his inherent nature taking him up there.
He could have come down before G-d taught him how to read, he could have come down after the first experience maybe and he could have been a Prophet and a warner to his fellow man, but G-d wanted for this last Prophet pbuh more than just Prophet hood or prophetic office He wanted for this last Prophet the reading of mans works from Adam to the last, He want this man to be able to read His signs in the skies, in the earth and as well as in people and then after He connected him to that way of reading then He said now recite the revealed scripture, the last Book, the Quran.
What is Quran? It comes from Qara-a, it means to read, so He gave Muhammad pubh the last revelation, the last Book and it is called Quran meaning that which is to be read or that which is to be recited or the promised reading. I have faith in what G-d gives me Ill put out a translation of Quran and I wont call it the Quran I would say the promised reading and you would hesitate wondering what Saudi Arabia is going to say about it. And the Vatican will say, We have to visit Imam Mohammed and many of the learned scholars in Al Islam from around the world will be beating the path to my door that is because they know and you know not.
They at least have the light that comes at the end of Fajr that will show faint shadows, so they can read a little more than you. You have only midnight, there is no shadow cast to show the perception or the concept to you, so you doubt me. You are not fit for my audience, you know who Im talking to and I want you to know that. I cant give you all of this en sha Allah swt Ill give it to you later, maybe by Ramadan session when it starts.
I want to end on this, G-d says in our Holy Quran Kuunuu qawwameena bil qiste shuhadaa-a- lillaahe. Be a people established upon justice as witnesses for G-d though it be against yourself or against a big or small person, this is Al Islam.
G-d tells us we are a community, if we get out of the context of a community, if we get out of the interest of a community life we have disobeyed G-d, we have strayed from His purpose for us because He does not address us as smart nigger, dumb nigger, rich nigger, poor nigger He does not address us as individuals, He addresses us as a collective body. And He says you are the best collective body raised up for the good of all people, you are the best of communities evolved for the good of all people.
Then He says oh people, but then He uses a language that is connected to people that connects us with the right idea of people in Al Islam and the word is Qaum the letter Q with vowel a over it, the letter W with sukon over it, the letter M, it means people, but what picture do I get when I hear this word Qaum what picture comes to my mind? If I am just one who speaks a language as habit like most people do when I hear the word Qaum I hear people, a lot of us together. But if I am a student wanting to understand language, a student of language especially scriptural language when I hear Qaum I connect it to my ability to stand up straight. And when we hear the adhan we place ourselves for prayer but we dont stand until we hear Qad qaamatis salat first before it Hayya alas salat, Hayya alal falah. Come to prayer come to success. Then we hear Qad qaamatis salat stand for prayer.
Then we read in the Quran also a word taken from the same word meaning to stand Ar rejaalu qawwamuuna ala nesaa it means men are created to have the role maintainer over the females. Isnt the history of man in the making of society bigger and over the women, bigger than the history of the women and over, above the history of women, this is the reality, you cant escape this. Is is all known our souls have accepted it for thousands, millions of years who knows?
Men are the ones who are free from the physiology of birth that the woman has to bear, the woman is held back for nine months that give out of every year man has a nine month advantage or males have nine month advantage over females to go out and explore the broad world or the broad field for life and production. And that is what we have done, the male has gone out as a hunter, as an explorer, as a builder and he has done all of these things and he has provider for the home life that the woman keeps secure. But now he doesnt, only a small percentage of African Americans provide for the home life and a big percentage of the European Americans are failing too they are getting worse and worse, we are making nigger out of the white folks.
They are envying uncle Remus, he is just happy with nothing, that is what his song is all about, Im happy with nothing just give me a song and do da day. The white man has been looking at us and saying uncle Remus Im tired of working hard and sweating and sacrificing my life just to have wife and children Im going to join the Remus crowd and there he goes, a white man who has no cares, he has given up all of his cares and woes, sex and a song, that is all he needs sex and fun, sex and entertainment.
G-d says be a people, Qaum, what is that message saying to us? Be established and then He says He promises you beautiful establishments if we will be faithful. The word He uses in the Quran is still the common word for establishment such as neighborhood, residences and etc.
Allah called Muhammad a business man as last Prophet
You are Muslim and you dont want Imam W. Deen Mohammed to head up an economic effort, to head up a business effort, you say why doesnt he stick to dawa, to the Quran and the sunnah? Imams influence you to withdraw your support from me, why is he doing this? We want the best of him but where is your business showing? Since I took up that responsibility you have started to grow businesses in certain areas of the United States under our leadership. You started to be much more productive than you ever were since I took that position, so how can you condemn me taking that position when there is no example for us to follow in that role yet? Dont tell me Im wrong to go into business and be a business man I should stick to religion or to preaching religion only, I could name you the ones who spread that kind of stuff, some of them hint it some tell it to you plainly and straight.
If Im to follow Muhammad pbuh I have to be conscious of the role and importance of business in the life of the people. You forget that Allah swt called a business man to become the worlds last Prophet pbuh and mercy to all the world to step into that position. Allah swt didnt have to tell him now look in order for you to be successful take a few business courses Muhammad, he was already established as a business man, very successful. Thank you very much peace to you As Salaam Alaikum
I dont know if you want questions at this hour it get dark early but if you want questions Im only going to answer five questions, three from the sisters and two from the brothers. See how that works? Witness you need more women than men ok at that microphone you need more women than men.
I want to acknowledge Muslim Journal commentary, I am so impressed I have know a brother, he does not want you to call him doctor, the average person who gets a degree they put it like it is part of their name, Dr. This or that, but you will see Dr. Jamal R. Rasheed as a commentator in the Muslim Journal, has had a column or article for a long time but now he is there designated by commentary and he does wonderful commentary. Hes a learned very strong productive minded person, he is a scholar, I knew about him and I try to keep up with him in the paper. One of the things I make a point to read is his writing, but we also have now a brother who I am familiar with I know him by face but really I only have seen him a few times from a distance and seen his very bright face with goodness, bright with intelligence, bright with interest in the right thing.
His name is Mubashir Uqdah I do not know if he is a doctor now, but if anybody is a doctor in my opinion hes a doctor. I have him, Dr. Jamal R. Rasheed and Dr. Mubashir Uqdah. If you are not reading their commentary and you are a student Im making it right now required reading, that you read the commentary of Dr. Jamal R. Rasheed and Dr. Mubashir Uqdah. And if you cant afford the paper to pay for it when you see me at the class ask me for the money to buy the paper. Ill give it to you and then Ill put you out of my class. Yes, because you have no sense of value. And Ill tell you right now you can leave and go home and read it.
Hearing and seeing problems for humanity
Question:
As Salaam Alaikum brother Imam my comment is in regard to strategy where Allah in Quran, throughout the Quran tells us to say and that approach or that command for us to do so helping us and others when we do say achieve that insight that you were talking about. As you were saying as sight being a great value, the perception and I was looking at the connection between sight and hearing.
Imam W Deen Mohammad:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam sight and hearing because you know as I said there was two prophecies addressing what would grow and become a world problem and an oppression on mankind and one was the problem of ignorance, that the people would not be able to read letters and then they wouldnt be educated to translate or interpret literary material that were designed to be translated or interpreted. So that was one condition that is seeing, you need the eyes to see, but the other one I think it was given to kind of balance or bring to the picture something that has to be said also in connection with that inability to see and that is hearing. It says there was a famine that covered the world and it was not a famine of food but of hearing the world of G-d.
Actually seeing is firstly seeing with my two eyes and then the second and higher level of seeing is seeing with my hearing and it is one eye it is not two that is why the scripture said and every eye shall see, it did not say eyes or every two eyes, it said every eye, single shall see. And blessed is he who has an understanding, Allah swt be with you, thank you my brother.
Question:
As Salaam Alaikum my name is Elanor Muhammad I pray Allah swt I will be able to meet with you in private for a few moments if you cant do it today I can come back.
Imam W Deen Mohammad:
Alaikum As Salaam do you come regularly to the first Sunday? Can I ask you to give me a break today and I promise to give you more than a minute or two or three next first Sunday and do I have somebody here please take the sisters name and give it to me or to my secretary, she is only twenty years old and she is my secretary and is more productive than the whole staff I had before and I thank G-d she is my wife also.
I know I didnt do enough as Wallace to earn this what I have here that is the blessing that came through Imam Warith Deen Mohammed.
Question:
As Salaam Alaikum brother Imam you mentioned in the past and I believe at the convention this year that first you said you only receive about five percent support from us about one out of a thousand, that is real disturbing for me, that tells me if Im five or one and if Im not how do I get in that and how do you see that we as a people can better support you?
Imam W Deen Mohammad:
Alaikum As Salaam let me say this firstly the cost to be present for the convention every year is too much for the average believer so there would be many more at the convention, at the banquet if the cost wasnt so much. Im through with one out of a thousand, is that ok if I leave that and go to the next? I say only five percent I look at the number of persons who donate or contribute to the Mosque Cares they may represent only 2% of our community. We have some great people supporting us Im telling you, you are probably one of them. We have people sent money every week sometimes twice in one week, he knows he processing the mail he was the first helping me with the mail then the Mosque Cares staff took over. Its back in his hand and its been in his hands for months now, maybe half a year maybe or more and he will tell you very few. But that few are powerful, their support is powerful they support me and Im sure their sacrifice is great they are not rich.
Some of them as fast as they get the reply they send another one and if they dont even get it they are sending me twice a week and Im wondering how can they do this. Faithful most of them we have they been with us since I started, these outstanding individuals they have great future Allah swt is going to give them I know that. They represent a very small percentage of our people who are in our association, I said five but it might be two percent. You know why most of them dont give anything? The Imams say, The Imam dont want you sending your money there he wants you to take care of here, he wants you to build up your own local place first. That is right I want all places to be strong, but I want all places to be generous, kind, loving, caring, charitable.
My mother didnt have money it was during the time my father was in prison and our community was very small. Would you believe the following in Chicago was no more than about sixty or seventy people, that is all we were meeting in a house so less than that were attending regular meetings. My mother she couldnt be on welfare I guess because of what my father was charged with and maybe because my father might have told here, I dont want you one welfare. So she used to have other sister who had food stamps during world war II who could buy things for us and I remember being bought a pair of used shoes and nothing was wrong with the shoes, the color looked like baby excrement. It was a punishment for me to wear those shoes but I wore them because those were the only shoes we had.
My mother would dress me up nice, you may have had a hole in your shoe but you were walking on it, nobody was looking at it. Your clothes were clean if the sock had a hole in it they were at least clean. You were clean and looking nice and my mother would always put a shirt and tie on and she would look at me after I was dressed up nice and she would smile and say, Now you look like my boy and put this nickel or this dime in the charity, give it to the secretary when you get to the Temple. She never thought of herself too poor to give in charity and that is the way a lot of you are, Allah swt will always be with people like that.
They shouldnt tell those people we dont have any money, dont send your money to Chicago, you should never stop a person from giving charity who wants to give in charity and Allah swt will increase your own place in money and in the means that you need. Allah swt will bless you with those means but if you are right and selfish like that and wanting to see somebody lower than you or beneath you in value youre working with the satan and Allah swt is against you.
Dont for get what I said three sisters and two brothers.
Question:
As Salaam Alaikum Could you be an advisor of my business in Newark? In audible.
Imam W Deen Mohammad:
Alaikum As Salaam I missed something what is the condition or the problem that you are having?
Reply
Not having support. When Im there I would have to go out and do business just to raise money to pay some bills then I had to get a job.
Imam W Deen Mohammad:
You need support to meet your financial responsibilities if you give your name to Rafa, write your name on a piece of paper and a phone number or if you dont have a phone leave your name and address and we will get back with you. Maybe there is something that you can do to assist us with so that you will have the honor, the self respect of not getting just charity but earning something. You have a pretty safe environment where you life, we can trust you with our business papers, the dog wont chew them up? One brother said the dog chewed it up.
Quran 3.195; Allah loses not the works of a believer
And their Lord hath accepted of them and answered them: "Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you be he male or female:
Quran 91.7-10; He is successful who spends on his soul
9. Truly he succeeds that purifies it
Question:
Imam Mohammed you may have already answered my question I was going to ask you how do you spend on our own souls.
Imam W Deen Mohammad:
How do we spend on our own souls? G-d says He does not misplace the work of a worker whether male or female, I understand that to say that anything we do as a worker respecting our religion it is accounted for charity and the benefits come directly, immediately to our own soul. Whatever good we do comes immediately in our own soul.
How do we spend on our own souls? Have a life of activity that helps more than yourself but helps others.
Thank you very much this is the end for us today but the work never ends and for me the joy never ends Ill see you first Sunday next month en sha Allah swt and it will be in Ramadan. Ill see some of you I know at the Ramadan session that will begin also in Ramadan the 21st through the 23rd of October dont forget that date. We will conclude it with Sunday the 23rd with the midday prayer probably the Asr prayer this time Im pretty sure we can say Thuhr and Asr prayer together and we will work right straight through the time en sha Allah swt.
Thats my cousin and if she was not so shy I would ask for a second wife and she would be that lady. We can marry cousins in Al Islam.
Remind me to address the bad condition of many of our people in states or nations in Africa and the bad condition that recently came upon our people in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. If G-d says there are signs in everything we shouldnt be afraid to read the signs in that which has happened, there is definitely a sign from G-d in those things that happened.
A Brother Takes Shahada
Imam Darnell Karim just told me that our brother wants to make his shahada, that is bear witness to the oneness of G-d and Muhammad pbuh as the last Prophet.
I think I remember reading in some scripture where it said I rather be a butler at the door than to be clean in this wicked world. We Thank Allah swt for increasing the life, the ranks and the number of the Muslims. We have come witness to his becoming a declared Muslim, in his heart I think he was already a Muslim and with us but he has declared it now so it is formal and official we thank Allah swt for him and for all of you in the faith Ameen. We thank Allah swt for increasing our life and increasing our number.
Muslims change their names but there is no obligation to change your name unless you dont like your name, if you dont like you name you should change it. If you like your name you should keep it. They are already saying were Arabs. My name is still Wallace and I didnt name myself, the leader and his wife my mother they gave me the name Wallace and I like it. If I found something wrong with it maybe I wouldnt be comfortable with it, so far I havent found anything wrong with it and Wallace is nice, it sounds nice. I meet people who knew me when I was a youngster non Muslims and they say hey Wallace, it sounds so good I dont hear it too much now.
I want to highly recommend that you do not go elsewhere to eat we have genuine Christian friends, they know our life, they know what we dont eat, they know what were supposed to eat and we have genuine Muslim friends who are in this establishment. Please support this establishment at this hotel and please support the kitchen, the restaurant service, it does us a lot of good and the food is good.
