By Imam W. Deen Mohammed
Praise be to Allah (swt) the Lord Sustainer of the heavens and the earth Who sent Muhammad the Prophet (pbuh) to be a mercy to al the worlds.
Q. 94.1-4; We expanded you breast, removed the burden
1. HAVE WE NOT EXPANDED THEE THY BREAST?
2. AND REMOVED FROM THEE THY BURDEN
3. THE WHICH DID GALL THY BACK?
4. AND RAISED HIGH THE ESTEEM (IN WHICH) THOU (ART HELD)?
When our Prophet d(pbuh) as you know was given that responsibility he was troubled and afraid even, they say he had chills he shivered and he did not know what was happening to him because he had not experienced or had no one tell him about such an experience where G-d reveals and communicates to a human being. So when he understood it the fear went off of him and he began to be comfortable with his responsibility, but he received so much trouble from his family, his own relatives. His two famous uncles they made trouble for him and enemies and he was very much alone. G-d speaks of him in saying, That he was seen by heaven weighed down, drooping under burden and without hope, feeling hopeless and G-d promised him that He would lift the burden off of him and guide him and He did. G-d lifted his burdens from him and guided him and he became the leader not only for the soul of people, .
Muhammad the Prophet within a relatively few years became the leader for the society of the people, for the community of the people, the people of Saudi Arabid and soon after it spread West and East to Africa and even eventually to European people.
Islam is a spiritual nation not a political nation
And we are now in this following, the international following of Muhammad the Prophet (pbuh), the ummah, also called nation but not a political nation, it is a spiritual nation or a religious nation, a nation of nations, international religious nation of many nationalities that is what we mean by nations, and nations because you know there are some nations where Al Islam has been there for centuries maybe even longer than centuries, maybe a thousand years and the government is called an Islamic government.
So he is the leader of all this great following that is an international following and it is no way for us to know Al Islam and practice Al Islam without also knowing him. Because Al Islam was put into practice by Muhammads (pbuh) leadership, it was taught by Muhammads (pbuh) leadership, he taught it and he trained and educated others to teach and that is how we got Al Islam in the world, the Quran and his way of living the Quran or Al Islam as it is properly called in the Quran. We pray the prayers and peace be on him and what follows after that traditional salute to the last Prophet (pbuh).
I consider it a special honor and a proof of your sincere support for my leadership to see you here today and I thank Allah (swt) for you, I thank you for your presence, we thank Allah (swt) for you and we than Allah (swt) for your presence.
Q. 17.84; Everyone behaves according to their disposition
Say: "Everyone acts according to his own disposition: but your Lord knows best who it is that is best guided on the Way."
If you are students like I am, Ill be a student until I die and I didnt have to learn the sunnah way to become a student. The studious environment of the Nation of Islam I grew up in it, that made me a student, I became a student there, Allah (swt) says in the Quran in Arabic, Qul kul-luy ya'malu 'alaa shaa kelatehe).
Translated it means, Every person behaves according to his or her own disposition. So when you are raised by your parents and you are an obedient child like I was and I still am, Im serious, Im still that obedient child that my mother raised. She has long been gone from here and I was a grown man a couple of decades before she passed, I was on my own, but G-d knows, she never was absent from my life and shes not absent from my life now. Im still obeying Clara Muhammad, Im still respecting and obeying and appreciating the guidance of Clara Muhammad and like wise for my father.
Child good nature G-d creates you can only support it
As you know I wasnt always with the Nation of Islam, I was out, but if anyone who tells you that I changed my behavior they are a liar, I never changed my behavior. I did not say, Im out, Im going to see how wine taste, no I had no desire for it, I had no desire for anything that they told me not to do, I stayed away from it. The thing they told me was good for me I stuck with those things whether I was in or out. I was not like some of my friends who went out and went crazy, they had to try everything that the parents said dont do, I didnt have to try it I was obedient by nature G-d has blessed you all with a special guy. G-d made me obedient by nature, you cant make your children like this, G-d has to make the child like that. You cant make a child obedient by nature, you can only support that nature with your good caring influence and etc., in the life of the child, you can support that good nature but you cant create it you cant make it. So we thank Allah (swt) very much.
How women are valued and protected in Al Islam; so if you are a student get your pad and pencil, you can ask me better questions when youre a student in those seats but if youre just listening and youre not following as a student you wont give me the best questions. The best questions will come from those who are looking at this as a lecture and they are going to be graded on it after Im finished.
Ill be speaking to you on how women are valued and protected in Al Islam, Im not here to address trouble that you all have with each other, with the leadership, Im not here for that. Thats problems, if we are talking about individuals who have problems and this is a meeting for health education.
And if we start talking about individuals who have problems we wont accomplish as much as we would accomplish if we just present good information. Then those people with the problem will go away with good information, the good information is for the problems period. So these special problems we have will all be taken care of en sha Allah.
If you go and attend anything, a workshop, a conference, a lecture and that lecture is focused on something particular, maybe small business management, you listen to the lecture, the lecturer he doesnt know anything about your small business he did not ask you to send me a description and a history of your small business, he just invited small business owners to the lecture, to the conference, workshop or whatever so he doesnt know that. But you know your own business, so as hes lecturing he says something that you think is good for your business, you make a special note of that, right? But he doesnt want to know your business, I dont either.
Now, if I could I would not have any males in this meeting, that includes me. I would be talking to you by wire, hook up or have a monitor sitting up in here, I try to do my best for my own protection, I have our host Imam here - - and I dont mean from physical abuse, I mean from approaching one of you pretty sisters or youre indulging me in a conversation I may go along with you, but with him here if it gets kind of sticky Im going to say, Hold up, Im having a little fun but its real.
How women are valued and protected in Al Islam, if we were speaking Arabic it would be pronounced Fil Islam, or bil Islam. So it is a letter L there, you have to always say Al when you say Islam if youre speaking pure Arabic. But I wont be saying the Al I will just say Islam but know that it is proper in Arabic Al Islam.
My parents, I find it very helpful, especially - - any speaker if he is speaking to an audience he doesnt want to come only from with what he has, if he knows his audience has an awareness in certain areas or has an interest in certain area, he includes that, he incorporates that interest into his presentation so he better communicates to his audience.
Q. 31.15; Luqman advice obey G-d and respect parents
"But if they strive to make the join in worship with Me things of which thou hast no knowledge obey them not; Yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration) and follow the way of those who turn to Me (in love): in the End the return of you all is to Me and I will tell you the truth (and meaning) of all that ye did."
I will be referring occasionally to the Nation of Islam or to what we experienced in the past or something and this is very important for me. I was a boy maybe about 8 or 9 years old, I could have been close to 10 years old and my father was doing time in the federal correction institution in Milan, Michigan. And my mother took me with her, she would talk me with her, I think he requested that she took me with her and she had told me on one or two occasions she said, Your father told me to bring you with me. But most of the time she didnt tell me, we went to see my father in prison and we came home from the trip, I dont know how much time elapsed but it could not have been any more than a year and Im thinking in my mind it was like 2 or 3 months. When you go way back there you forget, you cant be too sure. She came to me one day and she said, Wallace I got a letter from your father and he told me to give this to you. And the part of the letter that he told her to give me was from the Quran, it was Luqmans advice to his son. If you ever read that part, I wish you would if youre interested in your leader. Read it and you will see what he sent to me while I was younger than my youngest son is now, hes 12 years. I was younger than that I was like 9 years old and you can imagine the effect of that on me , I wont read it because we have a limited time. But just in a word it was telling me how I was to obey G-d and keep respect and love for my parents.
Al Islam values women as mothers
Woman made from single soul not from mans rib
Q. 4.1; G-d created man from one single soul
O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord Who created you from a single person created of like nature his mate.
Genesis 2:21-22; Woman made from mans rib
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; [22] And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Firstly Al Islam wants us to see the value of women as mothers, as our parents and also the value of men as our parents. G-d says that, He created us from one single soul or one single person, and made from it, its mate, it didnt say from him. Now listen closely sisters Ive talked to you before, some of you heard this before, but some of you havent. It did not say like the Bible the woman was made from the man, it does not say that at all, it says that He created you from a single soul or person. If you say person you might say, Thats a man, no well if it was a man if it is to be seen as a man then why would He say, And He made from it? It did not say from him.
Any Arabic speaking person here who knows, dont think every Arabic speaking person knows, illiteracy is high among Arab people, illiteracy you hear me? So dont think everybody who can speak Arabic is educated, illiteracy is so high that in some of their countries over 70% cant read, they can speak Arabic but cant read Arabic. So dont over estimate these people just because they speak Arabic. And a lot of these uneducated ones come among us and they find out we dont know whats happening and they lead us and have us thinking they know everything, youre following a dumb bell and you dont know who youre following. Youre following an uneducated dumb bell, he found somewhere to be important among you, but back home in his own country they wont even know him or see him, and they dont care to know him.
In the Quran it did not say He made them from the man, He made them from an entity that is called It, He made both male and female from an entity that is called It. So that tells us it was neither male nor female in the beginning, but both males and females were in it. Isnt this - - you who study biology and life Im a lay scientist, a student of science and I think Im a lay scientist, I work formulas and everything in my kitchen, Im a terrific guy in the kitchen.
In biology were told that life begins as one and then it splits and becomes two, male and female, right? Do you think Muhammad (pbuh) had the benefit of modern science and all these labs to know that? G-d revealed the revelation to him and what G-d told him is not in conflict with science, not just on this matter, scientists have studied the Quran and they say they find the Quran not to be in conflict with true science.
That is a miracle in itself, that a nonscientific, uneducated person gets a message and then later scientists, the world of science says, We dont find conflict for science in this book. They say, Oil and water cannot mix, but it sure did mix when G-d gave Muhammad (pbuh) revelation, He gave him oil and water mixed, praise be to Allah (swt).
Male and female came from the same soul entity
The first protection is on our creation as a human soul. So that It is the human soul that we all share and G-d made of the human soul male and female. He created the human soul, then He made of the human soul male and female. That tells us then that male and female are the same soul-wise, something can happen to me, I started to say a man, Im going to say to me, something can happen to me, and I will start crying like a woman. I will feel ashamed of myself after I get back to myself and wipe my tears. And something can happen to a woman and she will start wolfing like a man, so we of the same soul but what is expected of us we try to do. And we know we look better in our own form, a man looks better in his own form, a woman looks better in her own form, so we try to stick to form.
But if the world did not give her rap how people present themselves, if there were no sensitivities to homosexual behavior or whatever, no sensitivity brute females, we would be all messed up and there would not be any clear cut lines for femininity and masculinity. But G-d involved roles for us, so these roles of mother, father and other roles that are associated with femininity and masculinity have evolved us separately and over millions of years we are fixed into different forms. And we look at each other and we see that even the physical world has evolved us to be physically different, the need for a female to nurse to children made us physically different.
Two mothers womb and then broader environment
Q. 3.6; G-d shapes you in the wombs of your mothers
He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He pleases.
Physiology has made you physically different and made us physically different. All these differences have come about over a period of millions of years, but essentially we are the strength and the proof of it if you expose females to a male environment where they have to take on male responsibilities pretty soon they start looking like males, this is real. If you expose a male to an environment where they have to take on male responsibilities pretty soon he starts looking feminine. And isnt this what G-d says, And He gave you for forms or your looks while you were in the stomachs of your mothers, so that is an environment. That is a closed environment where were locked up there in our mothers for nine months or less and were being formed in that environment, the world of our mothers body.
Then G-d lets us be born in this world and then this world becomes the body that were living in. We live in the body of the world and this world starts to reform us or to continue our formation and we become again children born, created in the belly of the environment, the new mother or the bigger mother. So we are black because we came from Africa or from the hot region where there is a lot of sun, a lot of heat. We are nappy headed because we came from a forest area where there was not only heat but moisture and it made the hair nappy, all of this is scientifically supported now.
If nothing had separated us and all of us had stayed in one place and G-d said, He made you and then He spread you out into different area all over the world He said. In Quran Men nafs wahida. Translated From one soul. Wa batha-tha then He spread from them many males and females in great numbers. This is how it goes and He has made your looks while you were in the stomachs of your mother.
Now we can stop there but G-d doesnt want us to stop there, that is a fact. We get our looks in the stomach of the mother from our fathers germ and our mothers germ they combine in the mother and there the manufacturing is done.
Different parts of earth act as different mothers
And we come out with the looks of mother and her side, father and his family side. But G-d wants us to take as students, take that a step further. G-d wants us to see that we have gone to different land areas Asia, the equatorial belt, Europe but and Ethiopia, the northern regions and all the different environments have served as wombs to bear us, to give birth to us, to give formation to us and looks, features, color and everything G-d wants us to be aware of that too. That in this total big physical environment that we call the environment of the earth certain areas serve as different mothers even from different families.
The environment of Asia, India the mother is Indian, the environment of Europe, the mother is European, England or whatever, so this is how it happens. When you have this scientific picture of how man has been formed when I say man now I mean both male and female, it makes the burden so light on you, you deal with people and you dont have any hangups, the dont fear people anymore, you accept human being just like another human being as no problem, no big thing. We need true knowledge to set us free, free to conduct ourselves in a normal way with us at home and also with us abroad. And you know the MGT was established to train you to act at home and abroad right? Yes.
Q. 31.14; Mother great pain during birth
And We have enjoined on man (to be good) to his parents: in travail upon travail did his mother bear him and in years twain was his weaning: (hear the command) "Show gratitude to Me and to thy parents: to Me is (thy final) Goal.
Q. 46.15; Nurse baby for two years
We have enjoined on man Kindness to his parents: in pain did his mother bear him and in pain did she give him birth. The carrying of the (child) to his weaning is (a period of) thirty months.
G-d wants us to be aware of our mothers and the price they pay to be mothers. One passage in the Quran mentions the child, this is Luqman too, how the mother gives birth to child and she experiences labor pains. To the pain is so much she almost faints under the pain, then after she carries you under burden and then gives birth to you experiencing labor pains then she takes you into her bosom and she nurses you and the weaning takes two years. Now those two years are symbolic, they have symbolic meaning but some doctors advise you to nurse your child for two years or almost two years. In those days the women were expected, the average woman to nurse the child or the average situation for the nursing to go on for about two years, it says And the winning takes two years.
Then G-d says, He is speaking to the males, He is speaking to all of us but this is more specifically given to the males, it says Be grateful to G-d and the grateful to your parent, who carried you and then bore you and your weaning took two years. So G-d wants us to be aware of females, their role in their role as mothers No. 1 and also males because G-d introduces both when He says He created the human soul and then made of that human soul male and female.
G-d wants us to be aware of pregnancy and G-d wants us to be aware of the care to that the women give their babies.
And G-d wants us to be aware also that those little children are going to be under mothers care for a certain period of time, for a certain number of years and they will be educated also by their mothers, thats schooling.
Preschool started with mothers at home
We have preschool now, do not think that preschool started when the world or when the country accepted preschools, we have had preschools all the time, there has always been preschool, the preschool was the environment of the mother, it was the home environment that is where the preschool was. The child learning from you, you helping the child learn, you give the child a pencil, before I went to school my mother had already given me a pencil and helped me draw and helped me write.
Mother is the first teacher
When we say in Al Islam, well really the religious world says this, the world too now, that the mother is the first teacher that is literally true there is no symbolism there. Were not fortunate always to have our real mother but a guardian mother whoever, we had a parent who takes that responsibility, acting in the place of mother, if we did not have a mother who we were born of her own body, her own flesh.
We also know that education is importantly education in decency, decent behavior, decent mouth, decent language, decent attitude, decency. So the first moral foundation we get is from our home, from mama. My mother gave me my moral foundation and it is strong I owe it to her, she gave me my moral foundation. And I am sure that is true for most of the good behaving children, they got their moral foundation from mother more than from father. It is very rare, it is a real exception when the child gets the moral foundation from father, he gets a from mother. Even though the father tries to give the child moral foundation, there is coming in a time most likely in the lifeline, the growing, the years of that child, that child grows older in years theres going to come a time when father is going to start to disappear as the moral foundation and mother usually stay. This is the norm, this is what happens usually.
Mother gives the child its perception of the father
Also we have to see mothers giving the child the childs perception of the father, this is very serious sister. The first perception of a male is given to a child by mama. So how that child will see not only his father or her father, but also men in the environment. It is owing much to what you communicated to that child of your value of how you value a husband or a man in your life.
The way this world is today, how bad male female relations are were really fortunate to have children who are sane less more behaving intelligently. We are blessed to have sane children with all of this confusion going on and how we tear down each other, the male tears down the female, the female tearing down the male right in the presence of the children.
Female responsibility to the husband
Q. 4.34; Female responsibility to husband
Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard.
We come to the husband the female responsibility to the husband. The females responsibility according to the teachings to us of G-d to us in the Quran is to protect husbands interest. When he is there he is expected to protect his own interest, but that does not mean that you are to be completely excluded from any to concern or involvement. You cannot say, Well that his concern, he is here he can take care of his own. Whether it is for a relationship with his daughter or a relationship with his son,
or a relationship with his children if he is there attending his interest the woman is to be standing there, though quiet maybe saying, Well he can handle this, youre supposed to be seen or felt at least felt by the children as a present support, a support that is present there though you are quiet. They are supposed to feel your quiet support.
Mama (Clara Muhammad) could make us feel her, she did not have to make any noise, did not have to move her body, you did not even have to see her face or her body. You could be like this and she is behind you and you were doing something, you felt mama, my mama had a very strong spirituality, you felt her saying, You keep that line of conversation boy and youre going to be getting some trouble. So you would be talking and you would feel her back there, you feel the life back that and you turn around and you start bringing that conversation back to where it is supposed to be.
Al Hadith Ip292#59; Help brother wrong hold him back
So if it is daddy or daddy and one of the children the mama is supposed to be the quiet support, but not if he is in the wrong. What does Muhammad the Prophet (pbuh) teach us? He said, Help your brother whether he is in the right when the wrong. And they were surprised that such an answer they said, How knew we help our brother when he is in the wrong? He said, By holding him back from the wrong.
Parents dont argue in front of the children
So if the husband is trying to deal with his children and you know that he is making a mistake in the way that he is handling the, he is not handling it right, he is messing it up, you do not say, Hey why dont you leave this to me? I know that is the normal way to do it but not when you have the light of guidance, G-ds guidance in your house, youre not supposed to do it that way. You are supposed to protect that relationship, you do not want to hurt that relationship of father son, father and daughter, father and children you do not want to hurt that relationship.
So youll keep quiet until the children go out to play or until they all are gone to bed and just you and husband are watching TV or sitting around talking or doing your chores and then you will say, Baby or whatever you call him I think I can help you with the children, the way you handled them earlier today I dont think youre helping them and you sure are not helping yourself and I want them to continue to love you and I want you to be up to help them with their lives. And I just want to bring some things that I noticed in your conversation that did not help at all, it hurt. That is the way you do it can maybe you put a little soft, juicy kiss on it before you start talking that will help. Say, I see a lot of strain in your face these children are worrying you to death. Now this morning if you had handled it a little differently you would not have this stress.
The Southern people they knew this, we lost all of that, that Southern wisdom and Southern tradition the North wipes it out in time, big cities, big city pressure and behavior wipes it out in time. But when my parents came up North that stayed in our house. Mama and daddy dont clash in front of the children, they didnt do that.
In Al Islam the woman is to protect her husbands interest in his absence, his property, his interest in his absence, this is in the Quran you know it I will not try to go over all of the reading or anything to save time. I am sure you know that if you dont you heard it now.
Human content of females
Looking at the human content of females if we go back to what I said earlier, that male and female have the same soul. We both have the same soul we were made from the same soul, if we go back to that then we must we must say of females and males we are equal soul-wise. I think G-d is telling not just us, but telling the whole world this in a big way with the mystery of Jesus Christs birth.
Jesus made from a woman not the ground nor man
As Allah (swt) in Quran, He made the first human being from the dust of the earth, from ground, made him from the ground, but then to prove what He had already said that He is the Creator with the power to create as He wills, He makes a human being not from the ground and not from a man that He made from the ground, but He makes a human being from a woman, Jesus Christ peace be on him, this is a great sign to us. Not speaking so much to physiology, flesh or biology but speaking to the life of the spirit, the life of the soul, the life of the mind, the real person.
The real person is not the physical meat, the real person is the abstract life that this meat is serving as an instrument for its life in the world and for each communication. The only way I can speak to you I have to be physical and have of this mouth and everything, so it is for its communication. But the real life in its value and importance we cannot see it with our eyes. Can you see the thinking of Einstein with your eyes, can you see the beauty of a great poet with your eyes? Know you have to hear it with your ears and know him with your mind and then you can see his beauty, right? The beauty of the poet.
Mans essence is equal and complete as souls
This is a more important way of looking at ourselves and our true essence, so we are one soul and we are equal as souls can we are complete as souls. So we must say - - some of these things Im discussing with you here today these are things that were argued by religious leadership.
Sometimes for centuries the argument lasted for some of these things, these points they argued these points for centuries and never came to a conclusion.
Hence the recent liberation of the females, the females were just recently liberated and in most of the world you are not yet given your respect, not even on the books, not talking about from men. Because men will do what they want to do whether it is on the books are not. But it is not even on the books yet, the respect for the value of female soul and the value of their life in society, is not even on the books yet in many countries.
Woman thought to have incomplete soul
Soul-wise we are complete it is not like the old medieval world thought, a woman is not complete soul. That a man
is a complete soul in the womans soul was made from the man, her soul is not complete, she is just qualified up to a certain point.
Soul everything comes out of the it
Q. 91.8; The souls Fujurah and Taqwa
...the rest of the miles we have to travel to see the whole human person she is lacking that, no is not true at all. The Quran makes a very clear and it was with the people before, but the Quran had to bring it back out and give more support to it and communicate it more clearly to the world that the woman is the seen as the man human wises. So not only are we the same as souls - - because everything comes out of the soul.
Fujurah, Taqwa beginning of the expression of the soul
Taqwa is an activity of the intelligence
The Fujurah and Taqwa that is beginning of the expression of the soul. Taqwa is an activity of the intelligence, the intellect. It is an activity of the intelligence and we have to perceive the beginning of human life and all life philosophically speaking, for me it is real. Philosophically speaking we have to perceive the beginning of everything as the beginning of the communication of knowledge and the activity of knowledge, and especially living things.
Living things are given a relative margin of freedom that inanimate things do not have to express themselves somewhat independently. Heres a stone that is sitting doing nothing, but it is a body of knowledge. It is there to support knowledge, it is there to represent knowledge, it is there to communicate knowledge from its form to the mind of intelligent people if nothing else. Here is a living thing a tree, plant or something it is moving and it is responding to sunlight, responding to its environment so it has more freedom than that inanimate thing like a rock or stone or something. It is expressing itself, is given a relatively margin of freedom over those things that we have to say, Relatively speaking it has more freedom than a stone, can you follow that?
Animals evolved from plants theyre still in dual form
Now here is a dog or a cat or a bird given more freedom than the plants, to see how Allah (swt) evolves or progresses knowledge, that is heavy for you isnt it? Not for me this is my love, it is like singing in the rain. Here are the birds they are animals, they are flesh and they are given more freedom. And look Allah (swt) has proof that He evolved life from plant to animal, there are still some plants that are still in the dual form where they are plant and animal at the same time.
You students of biology raise your hand, who was good in biology raise your hand high, ok so you know when Im talking about, right? You should you failed your course or they just gave you something, you should know what I am talking about. There is a plant called the fly eater, fly trap, it is a plant but also has animal behavior as well as plant behavior, so it is between the two. So there is proof that these things have evolved that way, life has evolved that way.
Intellect forms of soul
Intellect wise when we say soul, intellect forms of soul hand in the intellect you have the two Fujurah and Taqwa, the two life functions. One is a fear and also an interest that turns out to be love too. You cannot say that Taqwa is fear only, that is what you find it translated sometimes fear, sometimes regard, it is translated in different ways by translators.
Fujur it is the curiosities, the desire to know
We have this Taqwa it is an activity of the intellect and then you have the Fujur it is the intellectual curiosities. Fujur is the interest to know, the life that wants to know.
Taqwa is the life that wants to be safe
The Taqwa is the life that wants to be safe. And to be safe you want to know what should I respect and it leads you to respect the Creator, you come up with the idea the One Who is over all of this, G-d. So that becomes the main object of your devotion and the main purpose for your respect or your Taqwa. But working at the same time is also this Fujur, this with activity of the intellect that has curiosities, wants to know, wants to explore, wants see in the dark etc., so these are the two. And if we are equal souls then we are also equal intelligence, male and female are of equal intelligence.
More women are freed the more you see quality appearing
They argued all these points for I dont know how long, but the more you free women the more you see the equality appearing. There was big inequality 50 years ago, men knowing everything, women not knowing much, just knowing about the basis of life, they know how to take care of the sanctuary of life. The sanctuary of life is taking care of that infant, given the world descent, sane, human beings,
that is the sanctuary of life. So you women knew how to take care of the sanctuary of life, but when it came to mans world you felt dependent upon man. But since we have gotten so much freedom you dont feel that anymore do you sisters? You are not intimidated by these men are you? Keep your respect. We all become children again we get all this freedom, we start experiencing things we didnt experience before and start realizing we have some power too and muscles too and we get carried away and lose respect.
Man educate two daughters will get paradise
This brings me to the Prophets (pbuh) to the men because he was dealing with some terrible, ignorant male chauvinists, most of these who we deal with in the modern world they are intelligent, they are at least educated.
He was dealing with those who were just uneducated, dumb men. Illiterates and he had to give them an incentive to help the women get free to become educated. He said, If any of you men would educate two of your daughters you will get the paradise. So they were happy to turn their attention to their females and help their females get an education.
Womans free via access to the same education as males
The Prophet (pbuh) knew and G-d had guided him to his ways of handling things, he knew if the females become educated at a faster pace than the males, because here is an incentive, he didnt say it for the males, the males were already getting attention from father. So he gave a little more attention to the female and he knew that if they get this extra attention in time females would be educated equally with males and that would be the freedom of females, that would be the true liberation of females.
The true liberation comes only when we have access to the same utilities whether it is education or political freedom, whatever it is. When we have access to the same benefits or the same utilities then we have equality. And that is all that Al Islam wants, that we dont close the door or put obstacles in the way of some and leave it better for others. That we give all equal access to the things that Allah (swt) has created all of us for.
Islamic society women are politically free and equal
So political freedom that is another thing that we have to accept in Al Islam for females, females in a true Islamic society has to be respected as politically free equally with males. And the proof that we have this recognition Al Islam
is that in some countries we have female presidents, females ruling the country, they go to the top position. Pakistan had its female and a few other countries have had their and is going to spread. The more the women become educated, the more the women are going to put pressure on the men to accept their rights and the more society is going to open up And women have the same right to excel.
Women can be over Imams as President or rulers
Dont like at the Imam and say, Oh I cant be an Imam, you cannot be a rooster either, you are a hen. But you in the human world you can be over the Imam, you can become the president and if youre a good Muslim the Imam will be coming to you and telling everybody you are his leader, is that right or wrong? And in education the Prophet (pbuh) liberated the female and they became scholars. Right now were still quoting Aisha, the wife of the Prophet (pbuh) as one of the sound thinkers in Al Islam who knew the wisdom of the teachings of Mohammad the Prophet (pbuh), her husband, may G-d be pleased with her.
So we have political freedom, if we have political freedom then we should look at leadership roles for women. You women should not be shy to step into leadership roles, dont separate from your female qualities because the society needs more than anything from you, your female qualities. G-d has created everything in a balance and He is made a social life in its full perception or full dimension He has made the social life male and female. And if we have male dominance in a society as it relates to the influence of the growth and development society, the creation, innovation there in society, if we have a strong male dominance we will lose that female quality of that social whole.
We will lose the female quality of the social whole it will become two insensitive to the total social needs and the whole will be destroyed or loss to corruption work to ignorance or to self-destruction. Allah (swt) knows how to create better than man, Allah (swt) does not say there are not other creators, He created us to become creators. But He says, And G-d is the best of the creators. So we respect that and keep the nature and the balance that G-d wants, we will beautify an enhanced the value of our society and we will prolong its life.
Q. 33.35; Thinking women
So you sisters keep coming forward into leadership roles, Allah (swt) says addressing the intellect, And the thinking women. And look what He calls the male, He gives the male the name, the name G-d gives to the male in revelation is thinker.
Q. 3.36; The male is not like the female
When she was delivered she said: "O my Lord! behold! I am delivered of a female child!" And Allah knew best what she brought forth, "and nowise is the male like the female.
And He says, speaking of the child born to Mary, He says,
in Arabic Wa laysatdh dhakar kal unthaa, translated
And the male is not like the female. Dhakara means male but what does it mean literally? Thinker. So that the men would not go astray and think they are the only ones who can think like the old gnostic order did in Christianity in the evolution of the church, we are protected from making that big mistake thinking that we are the only ones gifted with this park of light, elimination of the mind.
Unthaa means very sensitive life
G-d says, The thinking men and the thinking women, He mentioned them together to tell man, Yes you are a thinker said she is also a thinker. She has the same intellect you have, you are thinking and she is thinking, but why do I call you male thinker and called her female Unthaa? Which means very sensitive life. Because her role has evolved her to be more sensitive and your roll out there working with the trees and the ground, bricks, stones and fighting wars and has made you more a thinker. But if you change your roles, is the roles shifts she has the same potential you have, she can become the thinker and you can become the Unthaa, mentally speaking, soul-wise. He can become effemininated, if Im using the work correctly I think I am and uses will become masculine.
Women are mothers of civilization
So we have the same but it depends on what environment you put it in and what role you take in that in environment, what responsibility you invite or accept in that environment.
I am almost finished here I may go a few minutes over, I will give you some of the brothers time. So sisters never forget the first picture G-d gives us of you and that is our mother. What did Mr. Fard tell my father? That you are the mothers of civilization.
Women are teachers by nature
So you are not just the mothers of biological flesh and blood you are the mothers also of civilization. You are teachers, created to be teachers, G-d made you a teacher before He made man to be a teacher, you are teachers by nature. So dont forget your role, you are mothers not only of our flesh body but you are mothers of our civilization, that means our civilization should take form more to your influence more than the males influence.
And doesnt that make sense as a woman that cares about life and carries life and put a man on his feet for the first time then turn him over to other men so he can go out and learn how to live like a man. The woman that cared for him and initiated him so he could go and join the men, shouldnt she be responsible for the formation of the society too? Yes, you all have to accept responsibility for the shaping of our society, for the shaping of civilization. G-d has given you sensitivities and nature and perception that He hasnt given to men or if He gave it to us Hes given it to you maybe in a little more stronger portion or made you a little bit more sharper speaking of perception; in perception maybe He made you a little more sharper.
So if you are just going to turn the future shaping of society over to the men then were going to be missing a lot that we need in order to make this society beautiful and progressive. So the building of the Ummah is not just a mans job, the building of the Ummah is a male and female job, man and woman has to do this job. And our brothers are ready they are not holding you back. I said our brother, those are not my brothers you are laughing at.
Prophet in business as employed by Khadijah
I am going to conclude this on the economic focus, when Muhammad the Prophet (pbuh) became an employee in the employment of his wife lady Khadijah, may G-d be pleased with her, that conditioned him to be the leader in the business world. Because he got business experience, he got experience doing business, doing trade went to Syria outside of his own country doing trade. So in the employment of a female Allah (swt) gave Muhammad the Prophet (pbuh) the experience he would need to also be the strong leader with respect in the business area or in the economic field.
He gave support to that pre-Islamic Jahiliyyah period, respect for females, at least if they have money dont take it from them, if they want to go in business let them go into business. He put support to that and gave women the right of inheritance and that means they will have more money. If you have more education and more money what does that mean? More power. I am not going to say what some of you say, More power to the people, I am not going to say, More power to the female, more power to the women, no we have to work together that is the only way were going to make it. More power to the people, the human family that is what I mean by The people. I am not talking in the democratic politics or any of this modern world politics, More power to humanity.
Thank you very much, that concludes my presentation, Allahu Akbar.
Zakat obligation is on men and women in business
I forgot I need my glasses on, my mind recalls it, now I see it. Zakat. If you have freedom to engage in business, if you are recognized in business equally with men or at least having the right and freedom to engage business then that means the same obligation of Zakat falls on you that falls on the males. Create wealth and beautify our community, thank you. We love you.
Question and Answers
Question:
As Salaam Alaikum how do we get the support of the community behind us so that we can in turn carry on the maintenance of the Masjid and community?
Al hadith1p.107#28; Wrong change with hand, tongue
Imam W. D. Mohammed:
By offering your good help being very sincere, that is not wanting any recognition for yourself and when you dont find an accommodation, you are not welcomed or something then you are supposed to know what Prophet Muhammad said (pbuh), he said, When a wrong is there correct it with your had.
Now that doesnt mean you always use your hand, but that means action, take action that is what that means. But if you cant find the wherewithal then speak out against it, use your mouth, your speech. And if you still - - sometimes there is no welcome for you to even speak, he said, Then with your heart, it means you cant do anything, you cant speak but at least you are showing that you dont approve of it with your expressions, with the look on your face. They say what is in your heart will show in your expression, so it is your heart but you have to understand that this means
what you have on your heart is going to show in your expression.
So you show it in your face, you show it in your moves, you will show it in your temperament, you show it without speaking, they will know that you are not pleased with what is going on. When I say them Im speaking in any situation.
So this is the way to handle it, but Im sure that you have more than a situation like that, the situation is not that bad for most of you. You just start a sincere, good work and dont do it to undermine anybody or discredit somebody else, but do it for the job sake alone. And if you do it without approval when those in charge see it and they see your sincerity and they you doing good works and they feel that you are just trying to do a job and not having some private interest going that may threaten the interest of the Masjid or the community, they will welcome you, most of them will welcome you, a very few wont welcome you.
Just in case youre in a situation where you cant even do it there, maybe there is some prejudice against you or something or some dislike for you personally, we cant always expect leaders to be mature and perfect people either. So if you have a situation like that which may ____ some of you somewhere then you should try to look at that person who is blocking and try to look at that person who is blocking progress and see if you can find good things in that person, some good qualities in that person or some good actions that you can support. Then support the good and dont accept that you do nothing because if you cant work in the Masjid environment, it is small work in your neighborhood, work with some good people who want to work. No matter what the situation is be a worker, be productive.
Question:
As Salaam Alaikum dear brother Imam can you speak to us about the importance respecting our own African American culture and the danger in taking on someone elses identity and the name or different groups.
Imam W. D. Mohammed:
That is a concern of mine, it stays with me, its been with me all of my days, I cant recall a time when I didnt have that concern. What we have to be aware of is that racism has affected us, it kind of tainted our souls and we have to be careful not to be coming from any feelings of racial superiority or dont come from feelings of racial grievances. What happened in the past dont let it poison your soul or spirit, that is the first concern for presenting ourselves in a good condition firstly. After that we have to understand that many of these nationalistic Muslims from other nations or different ethnic groups, I dont like to say immigrants because we all came from somewhere. These other ethnic groups and racial groups here who are Muslims now coming from abroad recently, dont let them influence you to say, Were all brothers Muslims are just brothers. It is not black, it is no white. Yes it is, were brothers and theyre black, white, red, brown and different shades.
Foreigners want to deprive black of their soul force
Dont let them work on you because they want to deprive you of your soul force. What our history of bad treatment has done for us is what the creative nature design that it be. If you treat a human being unjustly or especially a group of human beings unjustly you are going to force them to rely on their own soul and their souls are going to become stronger and stronger. You are not giving them the freedom to work the muscles of their intellect that much or to work their hands and feet that much except for you as a servant or something, not for themselves so what happens the soul muscles get stronger and stronger and it got so strong we strong enough to support the Hon. Elijah Muhammads teachings and to accept the sacrifices that we had to make carrying the weight of his teachings in a world where there was no welcome for us.
So we were the discontent, we were the people who didnt hope to have any great future in this country until the white man changed or until we broke a loose form him.
ASM Muslims have greatest tenacity of black souls
So we are the ones who came to the Hon. Elijah Muhammad
he wasnt asking you to integrate he was telling you to separate. So we were the ones strong enough to follow that man by himself condemning the whole world. So we represent, I do believe and Im speaking as an objective person, as a scientific thinker, I do believe that we are the strongest sample of African Americans if you could take a sample soul wise. We have the greatest tenacity of soul,
the greatest tenacity of willpower we are a very special collection of people, group of people. And they know with all this power and now this power has turned all positive, it use to be turned in negative hating the white man without even any justification except that he is bad, there should be a little rational balance to that and a little social interest there.
Allah wants ASM soul under its own soul force
Now we represent a positive soul force and the strongest sample perhaps in the African American members perhaps in the numbers of this nation, including whites and everybody else. And now this soul force G-d wants to put it in Al Islam but not under other souls, under its own soul He wants to put it in Al Islam. And the immigrant learned among them, they are wise enough to see that if these people with this tenacity that they have, with this unity that they have shown
that they can have and willingness to carry burden and work and produce things even though they are poor if they could hold on to that and come into Al Islam they are going to show us up.
Q. 64.3; G-d made your shapes most beautiful
Be careful, G-d says, I will conclude it like this, They deserve more attention than others, some of them I can answer you right quick like that and keep going, G-d says that He made our forms while we were in our mothers. And He says, And He made most beautiful and excellent our form. Now what does that tell us? Made forms that means made us African Americans or made Blacks black, others Asian or whatever, yellow people, red people or these different people, He made all of us in our mothers. And He made most excellent our one form, the word is not many, the word is for one form.
Q.7.26; Dont let satan deceive you out of your clothes
Genesis 2:15; Dress the garden
And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
So G-d is telling us that the most excellent form that He made for us, the original and most excellent form is the human form. These other forms are our clothing but when G-d made the man a human didnt He tell him not only to dress himself, but also dress the world, dress the garden, the garden means the whole world. Dress yourself, this is Al Islam and this is Bible too, but very clearly in Al Islam that He meant him to dress the whole world, that garden was the whole world.
G-d intended ethnic, racial, national differences humans
Q. 49.13; G-d made us into tribes, nations
G-d didnt intend that you remain only a human in identity, but G-d wanted you become also an ethnic human and a racial human and a national human because people are distinguished by nature. Then He says, He is the One Who made us from our parents and He made us tribes and nations that we should know one another and not disrespect or despise one another, that is what He said.
If someone tells me, You shouldnt be trying to build your tribal identity or you shouldnt be trying to build your ethnic identity. Tribal and ethnic are the same, tribal identity is the same as saying ethnic identity or racial identity. Race is a new term of the West, it is not in the scriptures. G-d is saying that He, it was His will that we be different racially, be different ethnically it is His will. If He made me like that am I supposed to disregard it? No. And if He said He made our form and appearances most beautiful shouldnt I be trying to make my own racial and ethnic form excellent and most beautiful? Yes, that is your answer sister, we must build ourselves in every way, we must build and improve upon our identity in every sense, humanly, racially, ethnically in everything. And if you dont have an identity then you are just missing.
Question:
As the integrity of Al Islam is being challenged throughout the world, how do we as women bring the properness of Al Islam to the forefront of the world?
Imam W. D. Mohammed:
What is proper, how do we bring what is proper Al Islam to the forefront? Just keep following what youre being taught. Its coming to the forefront, as long as we keep following what were being taught and doing what we should do to support it believe me you dont have to worry about it coming to the forefront.
Question:
What advice can you give females who are working in a male dominated environment that will help them guard their feminine characteristics or qualities?
Satan wants women relate to men in anger, resentment
Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Before I even heard the rest of that I had the answer, dont forget your nature, your original nature is the nature of a caring mother, dont leave that nature. You dont ever have
be married or have a child, all of you females have that nature, that is your original nature. You have the nature to be caring mothers keep that nature and you will be surprised what you will do to a lot of men that may insult you, disrespect you or keep you back, hold you back. You be a caring mother it will just bring them right into your lap.
Satan wants you to relate to men from anger and resentment to keep the whole community or family of man weak for his exploits, divided and weak for his exploits, we are going to beat him as his game.
Question:
Because we know the return of Allah (swt) is inevitable for all of us what kind of plan and projection has been put in action for this community?
Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Our return of Allah (swt)?
Commentator:
I am assuming this is referring to the working members in the community, those of us who are working in the community and we want to set plans or articulate these plans that would help preserve our identity and our community. That is what Im getting from this.
Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I dont understand Return to Allah (swt) I thought it was getting insurance for janazah or something, burial insurance or something. We need that too. Will the one who wrote this question.
Commentator:
Will the one who wrote this we will give them the microphone and let them clarify their own question.
Sister:
As Salaam Alaikum brother Imam the question is, what kind of plans are in place for us as a community once the leadership is no longer here, once you have passed on? What kind of plans and projections are in place for the community to preserve your leadership once youre no longer here.
Death return to G-d is Christian phrase
Imam W. D. Mohammed:
When I return? Well let me tell you something Ive returned to Allah (swt) a long time ago, shes talking about when I die. You know the Quran mentions many Prophets who deceased, right? Does it say for everyone who dies does it say, He returns to Allah (swt)? No it does not say that, that is our expression, we have the expression return to Allah (swt), everything returns to Allah (swt). Allah (swt) says everything He has created must return to Him, not only humans everything He created. Sun, moon and stars everything returns to G-d and He will renew them, He will create a new universe, a new world. So you should get off of this return, that is the Christian way.
Q. 20.55; Earth from it, return then from it again
From the (earth) did We create you and into it shall We return you and from it shall We bring you out once again.
Q.39.67: Allah has universe in right hand
No just estimate have they made of Allah such as is due to Him: on the Day of Judgement the whole of the earth will be but His handful and the heavens will be rolled up in His right hand: Glory to Him! High is He above the Partners they attribute to Him!
But look what they say, from the dust were taken and to the dust we return. It means that G-d created us and put us on our own but youre on your own just for a time, youre going to die and you will not have any say so over your body and nothing else. That means His property came back to Him, that is what it means. Not your soul going back to Allah (swt) and youre soul going to be in Allah (swt) or something like that, that is foolishness, no.
G-d has everything all the time He doesnt have to wait to get something. The Quran says and Muhammad (pbuh) taught that everything, it says He has the whole world in one hand, just in one of His hands He has the whole. Now why should we return if He has it in His hand? And He has revelation and its purpose in the other hand. Mans destiny in one hand and the material universes destiny in the other hand. It doesnt mean hand it means control. He has the whole creation and everything existing including the human being in His controls.
Return to G-d means youre not straying by disobedience
Al hadith Vol.I p.326#82w; Stand for coffin
Abu Musa reported that the Prophet (pbuh) said: When the bier of a Jew, Christian or Muslim passes by you, stand up for it. You do not stand up for it but you stand up for those angels who are with it.
So how are we returning back to Him? It means your disobedience is no more taking you away from Him, you are dead you are not disobeying anymore.
And Muhammad (pbuhL) taught us to respect the dead body, right? He stood up for a dead body and the followers said, he did not stand up for living people, he did not stand up for a man like we do, he did not stand up for people. So they said, Why do you stand for a dead body? He said, Because it obeyed its master. The body is dead, it wasnt responsible for the disobedience, the head, the mind that was in that body was its trouble, not that, that mind is out Muhammad (pbuh) respected the natural life that Allah (swt) created to obey and he stood up and respected it. Every people have a respect for the dead, the most primitive people, they most likely have respect for the dead, this is in our nature G-d has made us with that nature.
W D Mohammed given knowledge to survive after him
Sister getting back to the question it is a good question and we have to face questions like that, I face it all the time. Im doing everything right now to make sure that when something happens to me it keeps going and go the same and better. I dont hold back anything from these Imams who respect me and want to know, even though some of them I know they dont care that much about me. But I know they at least want to teach, they like to teach and they like the knowledge so I share it with them freely. I give them much more than I give these public gatherings here.
I have given a lot of knowledge from myself that I know can carry the community forward to certain ones who have come to me and shown interest and appreciation for it. Also if you study what Im saying and what I said you can protect my leadership after Im gone.
Question:
How important for us as Muslims women to study the life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), his wives and what should Muslim women do collectively in a gathering to increase our knowledge of the Din and our Iman?
Imam W. D. Mohammed:
The responsibility for supporting the community and promoting the community, Al Islam and the life for Muslims that is, it is equally the responsibility of females. It is a male and female responsibility, that is what you have to see, it is your responsibility as it is the brothers responsibility. Now mothers with children and have household responsibility G-d, He excuses you up to a point but the responsibility is on all of us.
So we have to treat males and females differently when it comes to asking them to come and do jobs in the world or jobs in the community to establish us in the world, we have to distinguish between the two. You dont take a mother from her family responsibility and tell her to come out here and work with the brothers, do some project in the public or in the community, but she does that and she has volunteer time, she has a couple of hours a day and it is her spirit to do it, she wants to contribute she is welcomed.
Just know that the life of the sanctuary is more precious to us than the life of the street. So you are the ones to keep the sanctuary, the sanctuary of our life at home the private life. That is more important than our life in the street, but many of you have finished that job, your children are grown and gone in any of you who have the energy and the interest
we encourage you to get involved. And you should not asked me anything that a brother would not ask me, I said we are equal intellects, equal souls and if you give us the same environment we are just plainly equal.
Question:
I think that one of the reasons to the Muslim community is weakened is because of its intolerance towards other religions. How do we relate to those who do not believe that there is not G-d but Allah (swt) especially family numbers
who are Christians etc.?
Al Islam promotes religious tolerance
Q. 41.34; Treat enemy kind he may become a friend
Nor can Goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate!
Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Well now that question has one problem for me, except for that one problem I dont have any problem. Religious tolerance is what Al Islam promotes. It was not the Muslims trying to get rid of the church, trying to destroy churches, it was a fanatical Christians trying to destroy Mosques. I am talking about the time of the crusades.
So Al Islam a religion of tolerance, not only religious tolerance, tolerance.
Say you have an enemy following the traditional scripture of a certain wisdom for dealing with enemies Allah (swt) reveals to Muhammad (pbuh), you do not treat every enemy the same. Some enemies you can give them kindness for their dislike and hatred. And it says sometimes you can turn an enemy into a bosom friend. So it does not tell us to give up on our enemies even, it says you can work on your enemies with kindness and sometimes an enemy can be converted to become a bosom friend. It means a very close friend to your heart. So Al Islam is a religion of tolerance.
There was a question in there about G-d. We do not have any tolerance for shirk. You have a god with G-d, you claim that theres more than one G-d, we do not except that. Because we embrace Christianity, embrace Christian people it does not mean that we are saying we believe Jesus Christ is G-d and we believe the holy ghost is G-d or at least we believe differently but we dont care whether you believe it. Yes we do care, we do not want people believing that any is G-d but the One Who created everything, if it is not the Creator it is not G-d.
Allah (swt) say, Who are these who claimed to be god than they were not around when I created the heavens and the earth? Who are these latecomers coming up saying that they are G-d? Can they create the heavens and the earth? He said, If I would wipe it all out the could not bring themselves back into existence, this is what G-d said. And G-d said the whole creation, the heavens would be outraged that they say the Beneficent Creator has a son.
That tells us how serious it is us in Al Islam, we cannot that G-d had a son, what did Allah (swt) say about the Christians? And most of them do not know their own religion, except my So are we to treat them bad? We know they do not know their religion, if all of them knew the the religion like the Pope or like a few in the leadership of Christianity, none of them would be telling you to worship Jesus Christ. The Pope knows Christ is not G-d, he knows theres nothing but one G-d, the G-d Creator, he knows that.
He knows how this man believes, to do you think he would invite me into the Vatican and embrace me, I mean embrace me a Muslim would embrace, he hugged me.
Q. 3.64; Let us not raise from among us a lord
We Pope hugged the son of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad, no do not think that our call for dialogue in religious is any different from the call of Muhammad the Prophet (pbuh) our first leader in Al Islam. Certainly he called for religious tolerance, told his soldiers leave the cross dont even destroy a cross, to respect the sacred things of the church, the synagogue and the monastery, so there were other religions too. He told them not to defame nor to show disrespect for sacred things to he was teaching civilization, respect, but at the same time G-d put these words into his mouth in the Quran to the Christians or to people who believe that theres more than one G-d in G-d. G-d has some kind of trinity inside of Him he said, Let us come to common terms that we can respect that none of us raise anyone from among us as G-d.
Someone from Jews to be a god for everybody
Isnt Jesus Christ from the Jews? Arent we raising up someone from the Jews to be a god for everybody? That is exactly what that is addressing, do not raise anyone Jesus Christ and nobody else as a god. And your Imam if you accept me, some of you dont and that is okay really I dont need it. G-d Knows I need no attention for myself, I need no attention to myself or for myself. So if you do not like me it is okay. If I knew you did not like me but like to learn more I would love you and want to work with you, my love and feelings for you as a person and this audience would not change and I know you dont like me. I dont like you because you like me, I like you because you like what yo should like and that is G-d, truth, obedience, righteousness
etc. I asked you males and females, female helpers I said, Let us form a committee or a group for the removal of all images that pretend or portray divine, other than G-d. You joined me and we demonstrated, you went to churches and everything. Since that happened look how the display of Jesus in a physical form has gone from the eyes of the public and from their conversation, preacher in the church now preach and give little attention to Jesus Christ as G-d.
That was the case when I was a young man. You go there that was all they talked about was Jesus Christ as G-d as though there was no Creator, no father. And they called him G-d, they prayed to him as G-d and that was all you got was Jesus Christ, now they are saying, Father right? To do not a lot of attention to son, more attention to father. So what is that? That is the wisdom of Al Islam given to Muhammad (pbuh) firstly, that is the wisdom of Al Islam in me dealing with that subject in that way. Dont you still see it in the paper? Do you think kings do not read that paper, o you think higher ups in government dont read that paper? They do. The king of Saudi Arabia reads that paper, high ups in the government of the Islamic world read that paper, but also high up in the government of the United States and other Western nations to read that paper. You think they do pass the word around?
Cross image is the act of savage primitive people
They say, The son of Elijah Muhammad he has a statement in there shaming us, appealing to our intelligence
asking us to not shame our nation that a civilized government should also have religions that are civilized. And its not civilized to tell us that G-d is a man whos body was killed and hung up on the cross they say half naked, that is a savage picture. That is the act of primitive people
and here it has survived all the way up in to this most advanced age of ours, that thing has survived. And it took the son of Elijah Muhammad without education from the higher quarters to bring this shame to their faces and they are pulling it back out of circulation.
So please my Christian sister with your Muslim name follow Imam Mohammed to the full light of Al Islam, dont be afraid to learn more.
I would like to end the session with Al Fatiha en sha Allah (swt) and thank Imam W. D. Mohammed on behalf of all of you for taking his time and addressing you and answering your questions because a couple of those questions, I just want to add, I definitely wouldnt put that spin on it and gave that type of information that is why he is the leader and thats why we need to listen to him and support him.
