By Imam W. Deen Mohammed

Preacher: And then let America point their finger at us. Let them say these people are disgracing America. They have power in the work place and let them bring us on their television. Let us defend our case. Right; You don't like that situation? These people are paying their bills. These people are improving their lives. These people are helping their society. What about all those you got locked up in all these projects and giving them welfare and sending them into crime because their welfare gets cut off and they starve and et cetera.
So what -- you like that condition? What about all of my people you done got in jail? All the taxpayers; you like that condition better than this, you goddamn shitty fake society? And I say how you can say that on television. You know they will cut it off. Settle down. I say you goddamn shitty fake society.
Help yourself. Look, if they can shame us out of our good sense program, we are finish. We work hard to think our way up out of inferior states and then we got somebody that say, "Oh look. That's blowing up." I'm ready to ride a horse down the street. If I could save some money and I want to embarrass this country. I want to embarrass the world, not only this country.
Russia pulling the same kind of game on their subjects, Im ready to embarrass them. Im ready to ride a horse down the street. How come you are riding a horse? Because this civilization wants allow me to do better. That's right. I can't afford your car. I can't afford your bus. It might take me riding down the street on a big ball.
You might think I'm making jokes. I'm not. That's right. Say, "Hey look. When winter comes -- it's not possible for you to take the snow off our streets." Leave that snow on our streets. We can't afford cars. So leave the snow. We got us some big, big dogs and make us some nice sleds. And these dogs are going to take us to our job down town. Thats right, go down the street on the dogs.
So this is what the country has come to. They divide us. This is what the country has come to. This is my sled. These are my dogs. I don't owe anybody anything for them. Can't nobody come to reposes them. Don't you think we are tired of being owned by the financers? Aren't you tired of being owned? I'm tired of being owned by them. I dont want them owning me. Brothers and sisters some of us will do this.
That's right. Some of us will lead a demonstration that will embarrass the civilized world. That's right. They don't get anything but that. Right now they got us under controlled. I'm going to let you go in a few minutes. No, hold on. It's hot and I know you're getting hungry and we're having chicken again. That was the best chicken I ate. I don't know anybody that can cook a chicken better than that. Beautiful: Yeah.
They got us in sorts and they're using the family against the community, the community against the family. And they are succeeding because neither side has the courage to do what's best for our selves. Both sides are weak. I say our communities are weak. I mean weak in this respect. The community likes to be loved and accepted too by everybody.
We got to let no body frowning at us and saying, "You disappointed us. We didn't think you all would do us like that." If it calls for us to do something that makes them feel uncomfortable. Make them feel uncomfortable.
And family, they're still weak for money. And I understand that. And by family, I'm talking about my family now, my own family. They're desperate. Most of them don't qualify for jobs and you know how jobs are for the family. Most of them are too old to work. They're retirees. No employment records. No social security. They have worked for the nation all those years.
It's a bad situation. But they're not in as bad a situation as they claim to be in because the Honorable Elijah Muhammad did give them certain properties that they haven't utilized. That they don't get the good benefits from because they were holders. They want to wait and see how much they going to get from the court before they make any investment in the [unintelligible 00:06:51] because they know I'll get more from the court and I'll take that money from the court and I'll invest in a house to bring the value of the house up and sell it and get even more.
You know it's like the hungry person. You got something now but -- you ever seen an animal. He'll get something to eat and he'll hold that piece of food under his foot and reach out and try to get another. And he'll take another and use another foot and he'll take a third and after a while, two dogs grab what's on that one foot. And he's standing there with nothing in his mouth and he's wondering what happened. He was too desperate, too greedy.
Well, human beings are like that sometimes when they get in a frustrating situation, a desperate situation, and they get like that. So they got money here but they hold onto it . They trying to hold it all under one foot and after a while, they drop stuff on the ground and somebody else come pick it up.
We're in court and the Estate of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad being eaten up by neglect. We're being eaten up by taxes. We're eaten up by court fees and the state, they are waiting to get estate tax.. The I.R.S. waiting like a hungry dog hoping that it will be established in the court that a lot of property belongs to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, so that he can come in and charge a hundred on taxes and personal income. So IRS is waiting to get taxes. the state is waiting to get the state share and the lawyers are eating it up, neglect on the properties, making money on the properties. Theyre securing it and bringing down the value.
So, they are moving and we are moving and because they're successful in feeding the weak dream tendency in these people to get them to overlook all the community interest for their own narrow interests and they going to lose everything for themselves and the community to what you call the system. The system is going to get it all. Okay. Look at this. I didn't bring it with me but I wish I had. They published in, I'm not sure what state it was. I'm not sure the New York times.
IN the N.Y. Times, Hoover's FBI? Hoover, J. Edger Hoover's FBI. It published his plan for containing or completely destroying the Nation of Islam. And his plan says a number of things. Find a way to manipulate the present leaders or either get rid of them by charging them something, the remaining are manipulated. Or bring in new leadership then find among them a leader that is the kind of leader that is the kind of person we would like to see over the Nation of Islam, all right? We want leaders to do what we know to be sure not to ask for separate state and a few other things. I can't list all the things that they said but what they decide or what they want almost fit me perfect. One that wouldnt ask for separate state: One that won't be antagonistic, one that will more acceptable to Americans. That's the kind of leader they want. Fits me almost to the tee. Now, they also said that the nation of Islam has to be contained, meaning they could not go any further than they want it to go, that's containment, okay. And Hoover suggested that the way to get it was through the probate court. When Elijah die this can be achieved through the probate court. Everything that they said there you will see it working. If they have supported me, it had been in the Hoover plan. All right? I'm talking about these devils that have no interests but selfish interests. They're not ball, they're not thinking human, theyre just thinking selfish. Alright?
So when I say they have accepted me it's because I fit in the Hoover plan. He is the kind of leader that we want. All right? The next part is the material part. How do we get the material wealth for the community to get through the probate court when Elijah dies? How will it be done? We have to create leaders to divide the community up. . So if Farrakhan is not liked by the establishment its because He fits the Hoover plan.
If Silas is tolerated, aint anybody bothering him, no body bothering Silas, nobody bothering Farakhan, no. It means to know he is exploiting the poor people, nobody bothering him, but I have people in here watching me like a hawk. Watching me like a hawk, watching every penny, , watching us like a hawk.
But ain't nobody watching Farakhan, ain't nobody watching Silas, ain't nobody watching my uncle John Muhammad, and there are people watching me, nobody watching them because they fit into the Hoover plan, and as long as they are doing injurious things to their people the Hoover plan is to get satisfied. Imam W. Deen Mohammed hes not injuring his people he is trying to build strength in his people.
So we have to watch him, we cant allow him to prosper materially, while we'll threaten Saudi Arabia. If they acting like they'll assist him. If they want to give him something it better be small, they better not Independent niggers too much. We will threaten Saudi Arabia? Truly I'm not joking. This is our situation. Some of you will be intimidated by this today. It doesn't intimidate me? That makes me feel I am much more than them. Nothing to be intimidated about.
They are not going to change me. Not as long as I'm being alive and Allah's with me. They can't change me. Now they wanted to vote horney leaders, who just wanted to establish five daily prayers and make a feel good community out of the Nation of Islam. That's what they want for me. They put take people around me to see that my leadership was contained in that "now concept." But I will be able to do no more than just spiritualize the community. You think just today I'm preaching economics, you think just today I'm preaching political business. I've been doing that ever since I before I became Imam when I was on my own. I got papers to prove that I designed programs", for social dignity, for material dignity, for political dignity before even I came into this community.
Don't think I'm just interested in just praying on a rug. But I was perfect, I was the ideal person, being the son of Honorable Elijah Muhammad, being the one that they kind of mystified, W. D. You know, being that special kind of child, they couldn't pass by me now which means that I was the ideal one. But he's married. He's not violent, he usable, hes a real religious person, he really believes in God. We know when that Niggar gets mad he still thinks about God. He curse his wife out and then go make a prayer.
But I'm human too. Sometimes I don't have a right to curse out, you know. But I do it, I give that baby too sometimes and I say you can get the hell out of my face and she says but you can get the hell out of mine too. And I go make my prayer -- the next thing "you wouldnt believe it, we be in such hot romance baby. So, I dont mind a little human side to my life. It's all right for me I guess. They know what goes on.
They know what's like in my life. So they picked me, they supported me, they wanted me to be the leader of you. But they thought by now most of you all would have left me. They thought, if they can get this image of me out in the public that I'm against economic program, I'm against the FOI, I have"dismantle the FOI," I have changed the whole nation of Islam. I don't want money no more. This is a holy man. He hates money. All he wants to do is pray. They thought by now I would have no followers but my family. Not even that they thought I would be on a desert somewhere by myself. They thought sure you would have left me by now.
But it didn't turn out that way. Now, they found now that not only my community likes me but now a whole lot of black people like me too. They say all we can do now is pretend that this niggar doesnt even exist. We have to pretend that he's out of business.
split up into different groups and they have lost all their wealth and their organization. They dont have their discipline and their organization, faded out to nothing. If they got that knowledge that he gave show him holding up the American flag kissing it then asking all blacks to love America and pray turn toward the Kaaba on the rug. We know that game. But in doing that they endeared me to more Americans. You mean to tell me thats Elijahs son holding the American up. That must be an extraordinary man.
I'd like to meet him. You see Hoover got a big smile. Hoover got a big mind. And you cant anticipate what the moral people going to do. How human beings are going to respond to something. He thought by now everybody would be laughing at me saying all of this is nothing. But even in that half image they give in the public have won me friends. And you see I havent made any efforts on TV. Because I know there's good people out there, good people who will recognize good, intelligent people out there, intelligent people think that man sense to make changes.
This man is not as foolish as they think he is. I don't fight them, I was on TV last week on channel 5 I had a chance to fight this thing. I give them a chance. Its your media I dont have it yet. But one day I'm going to have my own radio channel. We are going to have our own program that will show the whole picture. But until then its your media what you want. We would like to have you sit and pose for this picture brother Imam. We want you to be holding a Quran.
Can we get some of our brothers to sit around and we all face the Kaaba and you all be praying. Can you stand brother Imam like you calling the prayer. all right. If you just give out a little piece of me its going to do us good. That all you want show that until we can get more. Hold on, They think they can hold us back by showing the people that were nothing but up there. That we aint interested in down here no more. Just keep on doing that until we can get ourselves together here. When they find out how you lied. You know those niggers that they say they know nothing but prayer you know what they built. You know those niggars own half of New York.
Thats right, let them keep doing that. Were going to bring a few people together, and were going to be successful. And were going to have the majority of good American people on our side. That's right. In fact we have the majority of good American people on our side now. The majority of good American people are with us. Thats right. We're going to keep on struggling, keep on pushing forward we re going to be patient. Were not going to get desperate, were going to be patient. Allah tells us in the Quran believe in Allah and be patient. Tells us to be upright and persevere. So we'll have to be able to wait in a difficult situation until Allah bless us to come out of it. But at the same time we have to -- persevere. So the problem for the Muslims is not only that he be able to hold himself in proper. But he also has to be able to apply himself while in that difficulty. Now that takes great strength. The situation seems hopeless almost. The people they have us blocked. Every way we turn we get blocked.
It seems we can't go, we can't stand, we can't find an opportunity. So we are in check Here's my check. Now, Allah say, don't become frustrated now. Don't fall down; pick up your heels like a baby and attack like throwing a tantrum. Keep yourself together; hold yourself to intelligent Muslim form. And pray that Allah give you an opening. But you don't give up. We know every way is blocked. But still every time I get out and get up. I wake up in the morning Im looking. maybe while I slept last night a new opening came somewhere. I have to persevere. I'm being patient but I'm persevering. Going to bed that night, I couldn't find no opening I wake up the same thing this morning. I look I say that dont look to strong I hit it maybe I dont break through it that time, yes I try something again, after awhile we are out that situation.
Holding a human form, holding a dignified Muslim form but persevering. Never accepting then it's over. Never accept defeat that is to say. Never accept defeat. I dont care how plain your feet look. Say you're a liar. I'm not defeated. You know people who are high, some of them they will not let a white man do the work. In our community. And it's the Hispanic community.
They get a Hispanic in a Hispanic community to do the work. So we if in our community you get up and do the better work. Do you know what I'm telling you. You do anything you want now, it's all over. So we're going to milk this town dry. Why do they talk to you like this, they're human beings too. Dont think every agent are like this some of them have human hearts they are going to become alive they're going to look up. I have had them tell me . They come out there and say I'm an agent. But they said it when I said it.
I said, "you are an agent." And they did not say no. So they did not say no. I said, "you know I am an agent. I know agents. I have been knowing agents. I know many agents. I know your movements. I know your ways. I know what you are planning to do. You know agents, they sit down and trying to talk to you -- they sit you so. They can look at you at the same time without turning into you [sic]. Without turning to look at each other, but they sit still. So you cannot look at them, but one at a time [sic].
So to look at them, you have to look at another one [sic]. You have to turn away from that one you are looking at. And when you turn away from that one you were looking at, then he has to turn to your face to say to your face that your second saw you talking to that other agent. Then he also have the chance to give the other agent signal that, yes, I hear you while you were seated. You see.
So they set you up. In the conversation, they set you up. Now, if I can see into my community, our Muslim community, and they set me up to it say anyways. And I see this happening over and over again. That is what tells me [sic] that maybe you are an agent.
But there are many ways to discover an agent. Agents have a pattern ways of behaving. They can't help it. And you know that even they know more about us. So they know everything, but they do not get anything because they do not say anything. You think they accepted that? No indeed, I did not. So what can I do by myself? If I was a really suspicious person, I would say that my community was 100% agent. Why? Because nobody has been helping me to save the community. Oh yes we have brother Imam. How?
Tell me how. You know taxes are not paid. You let your taxes go unpaid. So, the people can posses your properties [sic] for doing nothing but the taxes [sic]. That the taxes can replace your property? How you are helping me? You see somebody doing injury in this community, and you let them do it. You do not stop him, you do not take him to the people, the staff. How you are helping me?
You see that if we get to pay our bills, we can keep our value of the property but you wont put up a dime in Zakat, so that we will be able to do that. How you are helping me? All right? So, we can stay here a long time I just want you to see. What is going on? And the outsiders, they pointing at me and say, " the new leader changed everything. Everything is gone. They lost everything." And insiders, they pointing at me and said, " the Imam has sold all our property, the Imam has done this." The Imam has been doing nothing but trying to save all our properties.
So how can one man save property, when nobody is collaborating with him to save it. I cannot do it. Impossible. There is farmland; nobody in the community can farm it. I offered to sell to somebody in the community, couldnt find nobody to buy it. You want to buy it with $50. You want me to give me $50 down to buy? They want you to finance it so they can make some money . They might start paying you up or paying you back. And you have no money for that.
You trying to pay the mortgage. You trying to pay the back taxes. You have to pay all these bills. And yet, somebody is telling that you have give us some money, so, we can qualify to own this property. How much sicker can this be? Somebody came up with this. We have 5000 acres. Oh, I can handle it. I am a farmer. If you decide to give it to him and come here and see what he is doing, he is eating the money all up. He is swallowing it.
[laughter]
I'm telling you. That is what happens. He is swallowing it all up. He would swallow your mortgage. Just living in the house. He is paying for nothing. You go and you lost it by him being on it. He has cut down some trees acting as a owner and sold half your timber to the timber man an outsider. You come in the trees that you had half of them gone he done sold the trees.
Recommended to us by a person who is claiming that he has our best interest at heart. "Oh, he is a good man for the farm". You lease the farm out to an outsider, a Bilalian, what are we doing with an outsider on that property. But the Bilalian that we leased it to he s a farmer hes making a little money he must be because he is paying the bills. He will pays your mortgage. He is able to take up your money to pay for that.
He pays your mortgage and we dont have to come to you and say, "take up your money so that we can pay for your mortgage for the farm." He pays his bill we take the money and pay for the mortgage. There are a few more years now the farm will be paid and it will be our farm. Thats just one farm a real big farm we saved one. But did we get any from our community? No. I do not know what is wrong with this people. And if I put somebody to work that does not do his job. What can I do?
I have people telling me why dont you help me. I say okay, ?you do it. Hey, wait. What are you telling me to do? This man says, do nothing. That has been my experience now for about 7 years. Big talkers do nothing. I wiil approach our community with any other opportunity, I understand our community is saying that I am meant to do it. I meant, I myself, to control the money and do it. In fact, I will live there on the sight myself. That is it. Once the community take over any farm thats where Im going to live. Not only am I going to live there I m going to invite Muslims to come and live there. Because we are going to need to have a whole lot of eyes on those people. In order to protect our interest. That is right. Believe me because the outside force -- they have got more people that they can put into operation. But we cannot. But we can get somebody you send them down there.
If they cant buy that person -- they will send somebody to manipulate that person. And believe me, the average one of us aint no super human. If they put enough pressure on the average one of us we are finish. So, look How much are they going to pay you? They will pay you so much. You know the Nation of Islam want allowance the community. Dont you know they have a record for giving people great responsibility and leaving them out on a limb. A lot of stuff. Give the people power to own their land, You know we would like to see the property. We want to help you but we just dont trust the leadership. You see a good man like you. I like Wallace , we hate to see a good man like Wallace lose out . He was our man. We like him a lot. But all I will say is that he is not a business man. What we will do is that we will pay you and you run this, and you use these acres for such and such to set us up. You know, you change some figures all right? You have nothing to worry about. All I am sure is that we have this. All your children will be taken care of.
They can go to any college they want. The average one of us. After making our prayers he came down there. This is real, a lot of learning there. After all, as I look out at you, the average one of us is about to sell out. In fact, you don't even think about it. You don't even think about it. The average one of us will rush into it. Oh, we feel so great. Now I'll be running this project for the City of Chicago. Boy, I never thought I would get an important position like this for the City of Chicago.
You know our people. Yeah, give notable position, bring them into a little confidential conversation with a conflict and you will see. As people see about it. Give them a big title. You know, you are working with the Human Resources Department. A special project for developing properties for agricultural land for minority and it's highly confidential. You are a second agent from the negro population.
Oh, that nigger feels so special and big, he isn't going to tell anybody anything. He will keep it completely secret. Oh, yeah. He will serve them to a T. That's when we are working against. That's the kind of thing you deal with. We are dealing with a society that has all kinds of ways of influencing the minds of our people.
For me, our central concern, our main interest is to serve their interest, and they will get you brother, don't tell me they won't, I know it. They get the best they get the best. They make you feel like you are doing right, that you are doing something special. What we have to do is except leadership. And leadership means you dont do any 2 jobs, under 1 leadership.
Your job is 1 that is to obey that leadership, but anybody invite you to do something else without the knowledge of that leadership, you say "no". Sorry, no. But look how much you can help minorities. Sorry, no. If you aren't convinced that that's what you should do, then you should say "look". I'm not entering into any secret agreements with anybody.
I will go tell my leader that you were making me this offer, then I'm going to accept it, so he can get somebody for this. And they will tell you, if you do that they are going to kill you. You go tell your leader, we have it fix so that you look like a fool. Or, if they don't have a thing so you look like a fool, they say "if you do that you are dead".
So, what I'm saying is that you have to tell them no before they get that far. Once they get that far you can't say no without being threatened, your livelihood being threatened. That's right. As soon as you see that they are asking you to do something privately or secretly, or something that you think you think that you can't come to your Imam, me.
I'm not talking about another Imam; he may be an agent too. But you feel you can't come to me with that, and then you shouldn't accept it. You should say "what are you suggesting, Mr.?" Because I work for the American Muslim Mission; I'm running this one for them. If you want anything then you better go talk to them. I'm not qualified to operate this thing, secretly, or I'm writing a new program here. But they get you to do that.
Now, you know, if this establishment, if they were any way decent, if they didn't literally look at us as a serious type of people. Tell me, how come they can't come to me.
How come they can't come to me as the leader, and say "We have some city programs. We have programs we are offering that could be helped with that group. Do you think they are programs that you support? You like to see these things developed. You want to see them get support.
So, look, you only use your Masjid on Fridays in July, so much time, and you only use it at night. So, how about us operating some of these programs, letting some of our people come in the Masjid, during the time that you aren't using it." How come they can't just come to me and ask me that? Or send someone from the leaders to ask. They come to me and ask me, "Can we do this, if it's right?" But they don't want that. We would welcome that.
We would welcome let a preacher come, if he has a good program for his followers, he is trying to promote good human interests, human concern. He is trying to better educate the community in some kind of way or bring human services into this community, or civic service, whatever. We would like that. Come on. We aren't using this property, your situation is such and such, I wouldn't mind.
Come on in, preacher. As long as you take care of this property. We don't want your presence here to take from us. You respect the property, keep it up nice, you share the bill for repairs, or whatever.
Or if you are in such a way, you think you are so valuable, your affair is full of value, maybe we will even give a few pennies. We will pay for the repairs ourselves. When the bank needs payment, we pay it again and we won't even ask you to share the payment. Maybe we will do that. If what you have is that valuable to the people.
Okay, the City, they would like to do something in the Masjid. They don't want a bill to take the tax payer's money to build a facility for that. We have a facility; they would like to use our facility. Okay, what is your service? Such and such; Alright, come on and do it. It's all out in the open. We agree it's good. They don't want that. You know why? Because that is what will bring us together.
That will bring us together with the preacher. That will bring us together with the city people. And they can't live with people being together. They have to keep the organizations, the groups of the society separated. They have to keep them suspicious of each other. They have to keep them at each other, if they can. So, that if they would do that it would bring us together.
And all of us, we can work in the Masjid together with the Imams of it together with them. And the city people working in the Masjid with the Imams; they all have the same program under 1 Masjid and the Muslims have accommodated that willingly? That would give the Muslims such improved image in the eyes of the public. No, we can't have it that way. We have to do it sneakily.
We have to make the people think that the Imam wouldn't have such so they would perfect him and say "he pretend to be so good, but if he was good we wouldn't have to do this this way". You see what I'm saying? They condition you and I to think that the Imam is selfish. Look how they come across on TV. Black people among us, the bring out things on TV that make people suspect that we want to be over everything and if we can't be over it then we don't want it to exist. So, if any other black person has anything of worth, they have will not support it. If they can't dominate completely, they don't want it. They reject it.
Now, if anybody in this community is acting like that, you are not with me. I invite people to make contributions. I care about it. Jesse Jackson who leads PUSH. A lot of my people in my community have a problem with this guy. I know Jesse Jackson, he isn't the best person. But the man has done a lot of good. I meet with Jesse Jackson we will meet in the atmosphere of friendship.
He knows I like him. I believe he likes me. A lot of people from my city like Jesse Jackson. I know the establishment wants me to hate Jesse Jackson. They want me to be jealous of Jesse Jackson. They want Jesse Jackson to be jealous of me. They want Jesse Jackson and me to be at each other. Jesse Jackson is a leader, he has demonstrated against unfair employment policies. He has helped Blacks get their products where they weren't before.
He has done a lot of good things. I know he is not the shining image of a Saint or a moral saint or anything like that. I know he's not that. He could be better with his morals. He could be a little less arrogant maybe. But for a Black man, he isn't too arrogant. Oh, shoot. We'd be out of touch completely with the earth. That's right they don't want us together. They don't want Muslims and non-Muslims working together. They don't want blacks who are Muslims and black who are non-Muslims working together. They want church and Muslims at each other.
They don't want us together and if we together they want us together in a way that embarrasses both of us. They form a unity between a Muslim Mosque and a Christian Church, that they hate, they want to hurt the image of that Christian or even they might think that Christian can influence the Mosque to perform more of what they want. Any connections they themselves support believe me, are connections that they think will mean our harm, and their benefit.
Let them fear people, they just come and they see you, they either join you or they don't join you and they congratulate you to go on about their business. And if you ask them for assistance they will. Don't you want to invite Christians to work for you? I've invited people to work for me, invited them to work together. I say I support you, you support us, I'd be willing to work with you whether you support us or not if you've got some work I'll support you.
Do you think they do it? I believe most of these people too, are handpicked lackeys. Handpicked lackeys they are nothing but dummies. They are there to serve their bosses. The moral desire in them is not stronger than their desire for the beans, the rice and the chicken and the bills that are paid monthly. That's right, they are not really not dedicated anything, dont you know more Christians would be asking to see me. They'll be furious.
They would ask, they a say look what are you going to do. A few of them do. I've had a few come to me and say, hey brother Imam I am with you. But they realize they too they aint blind, once the person is sincere, they sincere in insincerity. So they go, Imam, I'm with you. But I can't join you. Because they see that there is too much insincerity right in my own organization. They feel threatened, they feel that I got more police in here and more secret service men in here than downtown in the police department.

And you behave like that too, now I am not saying you are, but you behave like that. Either because you have let the outside image of us that they have formed makes you suspicious, doubtful or you are really just not with it.. You see one or the other and I believe more of us we're just not sure, we're afraid. Say look fool, I'm going to tell you something, you got to break out of that. If you have not sold your soul then let me tell you. Allah is my witness, I have not sold my soul.
I am my own free individual. I don't belong to establishments. I've made no agreement to the FBI. I've made no agreement with the police department. I've made no agreement with the country. I've made no agreement with any office of this government. I've made no agreement with anybody, but Allah.
Whatever other agreements I have made you know about, it's public. If I made any agreement you'd know about it, it's public, I'd tell you. I don't have no ties with nobody. But Allah and my responsibility to you that Allah holds me responsible for as an Imam. That's all. My soul is free.
All right. Now you know yourselves, you know who's free. If you sold your soul, then I understand your situation, believe me, I don't hate you. And I don't think your so weak, this world has made it so hard to keep your soul, that I can't say you're weak. The one who kept his soul is a giant.
The one who sold his soul, he's not so weak, the world is just too impressive, too imposing, too impressive. Few of you are cheap you sold your soul for nothing. But most of you, it was a sensible bargain you just didn't have faith in Allah: So I don't hate you, I love you. But you who haven't sold your soul, and that is with me you will have the victory. We're going to make it so difficult for the hypocrites to pull this community apart.
That's right. Pretty soon it aint going to be long. Pretty soon, in order to stay in this community, to benefit from our community meetings, identify with us as a member you going to have to be a producer. If you ain't given in the Zakat, you going to to have to give at least five hours work. You going to have to give money or you going to have to give your time. That's right, money labor and open support for what we stand for. That's how America likes it, and they going to take every bit of it. Praise be to Allah the God and evolver, the cherisher and sustainer all the worlds. We believe in him for our complete trust in him, we seek him for forgiveness when we commit faults when we do wrong, or be sinned. We believe in him and as the witness that nothing deserves worship except the one lord and as witnessed, that Muhammad is his servant and his Messenger.
Allah most high says in Quran All you messengers eat of the good things and do righteous deeds. This is reported in the book of 40 Hadith and has been reported by [unintelligible 01:02:08] may Allah be pleased with him, the messenger of Allah, our prophet Muhammad [unintelligible 01:02:20] peace and blessings be on him. Gave these words quoting himself Allah most high in the Quran, he said, [foreign language] that he is Allah most high said in the Quran. All you messengers eat of the good things, pure and do righteous works, righteous deeds.
[foreign language] the prophet was saying, [foreign language] and we quote now from the Quran [foreign language]. All you who believe, all who have faith, eat of the good things [foreign word] that God has provided for you or that we have provided for you. So we see here brothers and sisters, Allah most high has ordered the prophets the messengers to eat what is good, to eat those things that are good and pure and he has ordered them to do works and to behave righteously whatever they consume must be clean things, must be good things and whatever they do must be good works, must be righteous deeds.
So we see that the prophets, the messengers of God. they are commanded, they are ordered, they are under duties to perform in this matter, whatever they take into their system it must be what is approved by Allah, It must be good and pure and whatever they do as an act, whatever their behavior is, It must be conformed to what is right, to what is decent, to what is most proper, to what is most pleasing for people of God, it must be righteous their deeds must be righteous.
And then the prophet peace and blessings be on him quoting from Allah in Quran giving these words and then gave the corresponding address or the corresponding orders that we find in the Quran addressing the believers the general membership of believers [foreign language] All you who believe [foreign word] eat of the good things , those good things that Allah has allowed us, the good and pure things [foreign word] that Allah has provided or that we have provided for you. Allah speaking himself, that we have provided for you.
Now we turn to another saying of the prophet peace and blessings b upon him where the prophet says [foreign language] is reported by [unintelligible 01:05:46] [foreign language] May Allah be pleased with him. He said that the messengers said [foreign word] that the messenger said peace and blessings be on him [foreign language] that purity is the half of faith [foreign word] with all that[foreign word] means guiding rule that orders are lying one [unintelligible 01:07:10]
So it is talking about a principle that sets a rule for the behavior of people in the faith and that rule that principle guiding us who are in the faith, is the rule of purity and purity in our Islam means exactly what it says purity regarding the worship of Allah means not mixing up any shirk, not associating any thing, not imagining any second or third, et cetera with Allah.
That would be the purity for them to prepare the purity for everything and the prophet said peace and blessings be on him that purity is a half of faith and it is the first half because [foreign language] means the first half and we know we have heard the expression in this part of the world that cleanliness is next to godliness. So it means that you have to have clean thinking clean thoughts clean minds clean intentions and then that brings you to godliness but first, you must have clean thoughts, clean intentions, clean behavior and that brings you up to godliness.
Here we have a corresponding saying from the prophet peace and blessings be on him where he says [foreign language] that the purity seeking pure, purity is half of the faith [foreign language] and the prophet said peace and blessings be upon him that saying Alhamdulillah giving praise to Allah, giving all thanks to Allah, giving all Praise to Allah, Alhamdulillah Al is before ham Hamdi is praise al-Hamdi means the praise, all the praise, Alhamdulillah all praise is for Allah to say that and know what you're saying to say that and you have the urge to say it, is the best way to say it. When we say Alhamdulillah and know what we are referring to and know it in some other connection.
Say, you did excellent today, I said, Alhamdulillah. The praise is not for me. I have done this because of Allah. Allah has blessed me with the ability to do this and the means to do this and perhaps the circumstances to do this, perhaps the time to do this. Allah has made this possible for me. I don't want to be made drunk by your praise. The key for me being taking your praise and becoming addicted to your praise and being drunken by your praise.
I realized that praise will kill me if I love it, that praise will kill me if I take the habit of drinking that praise. So I say Alhamdulillah, admitting that I am a creature that can be destroyed by praise. Only Allah deserves the praise, only Allah can manage to praise, He's the only one that can manage to praise. The praise will destroy all of us if we like that praise. So Alhamdulillah, all praise is due to Allah for all the credit he deserves, he deserves all the credit, he deserves all the praise.
Alhamdulillah, what the prophet Muhammad say of this? Peace be on him. He says Alhamdulillah fills up the scales, fills up the scales. Yes. Alhamdulillah [foreign language] all praise is due to Allah. Saying that, really knowing it in your heart what you're saying and meaning what you're saying. It fills up the scales. The scales of what? The scales of goodness, the scales of good deeds.
It fills up the scales of what? The scales of the universe. Whoever has this disposition, his scales will not be tilted out of balance. Whoever has that disposition, his scales will not be tilted out of balance as long as we are driven to move to say Alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah and that we don't take the credit of it on ourselves, we don't begin to drink the praise and become drunk, become arrogant, boastful.
As long as we don't do that, then the scales are safe, the scales will not be empty in the day of judgment. If we have done some good and we praise Allah for it or someone has given us some help and we praise Allah for it, if that remains our disposition throughout our life that alone will tip the scales, they will not be empty in the day of judgment. Allah, peace and blessings be on the prophet, Allah guided the prophet, peace and blessings be on him and the prophet is teaching us and we continue now with the words of the prophet.
[foreign language] Alhamdulillah [unintelligible 01:12:35] [foreign language]. Praise be to our saying, Alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah. It fills up the scales. [foreign language] is an expression that we repeat often [foreign language] it is translated in English, glorified is Allah, highly glorified is Allah, all glory be to Allah, all praise -- some translators translate it to, this praise be to Allah. Subhan Allah means that I recognize that I am not perfect, I can make mistakes but Allah is far beyond my defects.
Allah is far beyond any question of imperfection or defects in him. So we say to express that kind of feeling out in ourselves, we say Subhan Allah, now peace be on the prophet. He says of Subhan Allah. That Subhan Allah and Alhamdulillah putting them two together. Now, what will they do? [foreign language] they are two things that fills up what? [foreign language] what is between the heavens and earth so all of this space that we see between sky and earth, like the saying of these two, Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah fills up the space between the heavens and the earth.
Here if you can imagine the first one we said, Alhamdulillah that if fills up the scales. If you can imagine a scale being horizontal balance, a horizontal balance then if you can imagine the distance between the apex or the zenith and the earth as being another dimension, the prophet has said that Alhamdulillah fills up the scales so they won't be empty in the day of judgment and he has said that the distance between the zenith and the earth is filled up by the combination of these two.
Subhan Allah, realizing that we are defect, that we are capable of defects, that we are capable of making mistakes, that we are not divine beings, that we are not perfect beings, we're human beings and realizing that Allah is not us but perfect way beyond, far beyond us and never is he to be described as having any defects or any shortcoming or any harm or imperfection in him.
That these two things together fill the space up between the earth and the heavens. That is whatever mine or my heart goes out of thought in all of this vast space. If I keep in me, Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, that this will protect me in all of this vastness of space. For many of us we'll venture out and go just a little bit and trip up, fall into the pit. So let us continue now what the prophet said, peace and blessings be on him.
[foreign language] and he said in the prayer the Salat the prayer we make the Salat he said it's [foreign language] Salat [foreign language] and the prayer is light, light [foreign language] light. Now we've considered the movement now in the vast space, the scales and the movement in the vastness of space. Now we need light, don't we?
Faith, doesn't faith protect us in the darkness? Sure, certainly. Faith protects us in the darkness but now we need light and he said that the Salat [foreign language] the prayer is the light. The prayer is the light. When a Muslim prays what is he doing in his prayer? He's reciting the words of Allah, he's reciting Quran, he's reciting passages from Quran. He's reciting the divine word. He's reciting the light that holds guidance for all kinds of endeavor, for all kinds of ventures.
He's holding in his heart the faith of God, faith in God, [foreign language] reverence of God and he's reciting Quran and Quran is a flow from his mouth, from his tongue the flow of the vine, words divine revelation, divine guidance and that guidance is light, that guidance is the true light. If he prays, then he keeps light on him. If he prays, he keeps light in him. If he prays he keeps light on him, if he prays he follows the light.
Allah has guided the messenger and the messenger has told us, peace and blessing be on him that [foreign language] that the prayer is the light. And the prophet went on to say, [foreign language] and charity is proof of faith. And charity is a proof of faith. But what if we have no charity? What if we had no charity? If everything we do we want to get something for it.
We can't do anything except with what am I going to get for this? Or I'll do it but what am I going to get for it? If that attitude is our attitude, where is the charity? There is no charity. There's only charity when we do something and we're not thinking about what we're going to get in return but we're doing it just out of a good intonation or just on a good impulse to do good. We're doing it out of goodness or for goodness sake we're doing it.
That's the real charity. Sadaqah means also to be truthful. Sadaqah, Sadaqah, to be truthful. Sadaqah also is giving up my money, giving up my earnings. I give part of my earnings in charity that's also Sadaqah. If the man in the battlefield, fighting for the cause of justice, fighting against the tyrant, fighting against the oppressors, fighting against the corrupters of humanity.
If he goes to the battle and he fights with his life and fights with his wealth then he's also Sadaqah. He is Sadaqah in the battle. He's being truthful in the battle. If he says he believes in Allah, if he says he wants good for humanity what is the proof of that? When the war is declared, he joins the good forces, not the bad forces. And he doesn't sit at home and let the thing happen and see what's going to happen and I'm going to escape the danger. I'm not going to get into the conflict, I don't want to lose anything.
No. Sadaqah makes him get into the battle and while he's fighting that's his Sadaqah. That's his Sadaqah you see. So Sadaqah is a word that includes both truthfulness and act of charity an act done for goodness sake, not necessarily for something in return. So the prophet has said of this Sadaqah, he said what Sadaqah [foreign language]. And the Sadaqah is the proof. Sabr he says, Sabr peace and blessing be on the prophet, and patience was Sabr. Sabr is patience. Sabr is steadfastness. Holding, while it is not comparable to hold, it becomes difficult to hold what you're holding, how to pursue what you're pursuing, how to keep with what you're keeping with; and you still, in spite of the difficulty, in spite of the hardships, you keep with it.
We think of sabr as patience, yes it's patience, but not necessarily sitting. We may be sitting, and exercising patience while sitting. But if we also have a journey that takes 10 hours on foot, and we have made a decision to be there in 10 hours, and we know we have to walk at a certain gait or at a certain pace, then to keep up that pace to get there in 10 hours, it's patience too, isn't it? Of course, you're going to start getting tired, maybe. Things will begin to wear on you. You will want to sit down. But you know that you're on a schedule, and if you sit down, or wait too long, or waste time, you won't meet your schedule.
So you persevere. You continue. You don't break your time, you don't break your gait. You keep on to reach that place in 10 hours. So that's patience too, isn't it? It's patience with the objective. Patience with the objective. You're not going to break off from the objective to do something else. You're going to bear patiently with the objective until you fulfill the requirements for that objective. That's patience, too.
So we can see patience in many, many kinds of situations. We can see patience operating. So that's patience, that's sabr, as Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wa Salaam has said, "Walsabr dia'an," "and the patience is illumination." The patience is a radiating thing, it radiates. Now, perhaps you haven't noticed, the believer, yourself, who is patient, whose character reflects patience in him. From the believer whose character reflects irritation, haste, in him, they don't look alike. The Muslim, or the believer, or the person with sabr, he has a glow about him. It's a quiet glow, it's not a loud glow.
It's not an intense glow, it's just a glow. He has a glow about him. That's [foreign language] it's a light, but a glowing light. And the one who is impatient, and is constantly giving himself to [inaudible 01:23:32] getting something quick, and doing something quick, and can't bare to wait a little while, we don't see that in him. He doesn't have that glow about him. It's an aura or something.
It's something that we see. A kind of shroud, a kind of dress he wears, that is a glow about him. It is reflecting what is in him. His sensitivities and his sober makeup. His consistent, sober makeup is reflective throughout, and recall that kind of presence we see in his atmosphere, a glow. And the Prophet has said, "Walsabr dia'an," and the patience as sabr is a light, an illumination.
Well in Quran, the Prophet says, [foreign language]. And the Quran, it is an argument, a defense, an argument, for you, or against you. If the believer obeys a law, and if he follows the guidance of the Quran, which is the guidance of Allah, then the Quran is his argument. The Quran will defend him in court. The Quran will defend him in the world. The Quran will defend him on the day of judgment. The Quran is his defense, working for him. But if he fails it, if he fails to obey Allah and follow the guidance of the Quran, the same Quran will work against him. The same Quran will condemn him.
The Prophet went on to say, [foreign language], "Peace and blessing be on him,""[foreign language] All, every person that is, [foreign language] every person, each person, each human being, [foreign language]. He starts the day as a vendor or seller, one selling. [foreign language] himself, [foreign language] and he brings it to perish, or he brings it to ruin, [foreign language].
He advances it successfully. He either sells himself away until there's nothing left but ruin, a ruined thing, wasted thing, or he sells himself away to advance himself. He sells himself to advance himself. The word used, [foreign language], means that he preserves himself, he sells himself to preserve himself. And in preserving himself, he is advanced without destruction to himself. He is advanced without self-destruction or advanced without destruction to himself. Now if we think about this, for everything that we get involved in, there is an exchange.
Some may not even think that while you're sitting here, there's not an exchange, yes there is. You're sitting here now, and you're on the floor, you're listening to me, there is an exchange. If I wasn't here, and you were sitting in here on the floor in a quiet room, and no one was saying anything to you, this environment here influences you in certain ways. So there's an exchange. And if you don't respond to this environment in the way Allah has guided you, this environment may induce you, may be conducive to your bad behavior.
And your bad behavior will be defective. And it will bring loss, it will bring self-destruction. So this environment, anything that we hold ourselves to, anything that we encounter, it presents this kind of exchange, where it is influencing us, and we are responding to it. And if we don't respond to it in the way that Allah wants us to respond to it, it will drain our good energies, it will drain our good lives, it will warp our good thinking, it will eventually cause us self-destruction.
But, if we have the right attitude, the right disposition taught, if we keep the light of Allah on our feet, on our hands, on our tongue, on our eyes, on every member of the body, on the soul, everything in this being, if we let it be guided by Allah, [unintelligible 1:28:52], fear him and him alone, whatever I do I am accountable to him. If I misuse anything, whether it be my faculties or any limb of my body, I will have to account for him and the judgment.
If we keep this kind of thinking, respect for Allah, respect for his presence, respect for the consequences that will come if we don't obey him, if we follow the religion then we have the protection we need. But except for that, we expose ourselves to dangers that we can't manage, because we're only creatures in this universe that's too big for us creatures without the guidance of Allah. Now, we go on, and the Prophet says, that concludes, he says every human, every individual, he starts his day as a vendor. He's selling himself. And the selling of himself either brings about his ruin, or it preserves him, and advances him.
And we know Allah says that there are believers who have entered into a bargain with him. They have entered into a sale and bargain with him, and they have sold themselves for Allah's pleasure. They have sold themselves for Allah's pleasure. Now, that's exactly what we've to brothers and sisters. Muslims we've to sell ourselves for Allah's pleasure. This term sale is so beautiful because sale tells us we're going to get something in return. If you give something maybe you won't get anything, right?
But a sale is something that you expect a profit from or something you expect something in return for. So Allah say you want to get involved in the world? You want to get involved in these things for the benefits of the world offer for you without respecting what I want? Without respecting what our design? You want to meet the girl and meet the boy? You want to have fun with them without respecting the discipline, the behavior that I want you?
Okay, well, that's a bad sale. That's a bad deal. There is going to eventually bring about your self-destruction. It's going to take from you not add to you. But if want to get involved with a girl you want involved with the girl on the guidance that I have given? Okay, you will have a good marriage. You'll be successful. If the marriage is not a success, you will still come out with profit. Guaranteed profit, guarantees a good profit. You'll be preserved in advance if you follow Allah's guidance.
Our dear beloved Muslims, what we have said is that there is no allowances made by justice for anyone, not even the messengers of God. The messengers of God, they're obligated to respect and obey Allah's commands. They have no privileges to disobey Allah's commandments. We know that some reports have come to us from sources other than Quran, that prophets stepped out of the righteous discipline. And we're seeing doing the things that the common sinners do.
That's not, that's not correct. That is misinterpretation and corruption of scripture. We've to understand that Quran is our book, and the Quran does not depict or presents the prophets in any such life. In the word of the Prophet [foreign language]. Allah has ordered the prophets to eat only of the good and pure things. And have ordered the prophets to do only righteous deeds. And they are obligated only to obey Him. They are His righteous servants. And He has ordered the believers the same, which is to say that whatever rule Allah has applied to govern the conduct of His prophets, the people He has applied the same for the people, that He has applied on the prophet.
And the same on the prophet and he applied on the people. No privileged class before justice. All equal before justice. All equally obligated before justice. And also we've dwelled on a beautiful Hadith of the prophet, where he begins by telling us that purity intended to be pure, innocent, honest, clean, that purity is the half of faith. And purity is the first stage of the first progression towards true faith in God, our godliness.
Now, dear beloved Muslims, we ask Allah for His guidance. We ask Him for His protection. We ask Him to keep our feet firmly in the way that He has shown to us by Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings on him.
We asked Him to save our hearts from any tendency to go back into corruption, and about to go back into falsehood after He has guided us right. Allah [inaudible 01:35:27] Bismillah want to Alhamdulillah [foreign language] with the name Allah, giving all praise to Allah. And then bestowing Him on the gifts of Muhammed, His noble and generous messenger. Peace and blessing be on him, on his descendants, on his companion, on the righteous servants all of them and on us all Muslim believers us here throughout the world may we have the peace, Ameen.
Allah Most High says in Quran [foreign language] means we are not equal [unintelligible 01:36:53] those who set at home of the believers means [foreign language] of the believers there is no question that they believe. It's expressive that they're here they believe me, [foreign language] not just the Muslims [unintelligible 01:37:09] these are people of faith that believe in Allah, that believe in the angels, believe in prophets, believe in the books, believe in the revelation, believe in the day of judgment, believe in the rule of God the ordinance diviner ordinance of Allah. These are believers, but Allah says in the Quran the most equal are those believers who sit at home without accepting the first risk.
The word is [foreign language] means something that can harm you. And what is the first risk or first harm that we learn in life? It's the harm to our mortal person. The child comes and he's born, the dog, the life, whatever life it is. It learns first fear for its mortal self, fear for its mortal self. So the first harm that it learns or the first risk it learns to be aware of is the risk of loss of life. A limb moral risk, mortal risk.
And later on, as it accumulates wealth or as establishes a good relationship, the individual begins to fear the loss also well begin to fear the loss of the relationship that has worked long and establishing and begin the fear the loss of a relationship with God but what was the first fear? The first fear was the fear of danger to one's mortal self, danger harm to one's physical self. The child that is delivered it comes and its cries until it can be confident until it can be convinced that it's not in danger in this new environment that is in.
So his mother puts the child or their baby to the warm body, and the baby feels the warmth of the mother and the softness and the comfort, and the baby knows that it's in safe hands. So that fear is quitted because of the mother being there. So we know that this a mortal fear that we are born with it. We're born with the mortal fear and Allah is telling us in the Quran Highly praises He, that we believers, we believers must accept the first risk in life. And no one is a good believer, no one is really a good believer who does not accept this risk. The believer sometimes doesnt understands the importance of it, and Allah through it with His prophets He has to educate the believer, as to the importance of this necessity that you have to risk your mortal self, your mortal person, your physical life. You have to be able to risk life and limb for Allah's pleasure. So, He says not equal of those who stay at home, not accepting the first risk or the first threat, and that is to their life and limb. He said they are not equal with the Mujahideen. Mujahideen from jahada, which means to struggle, to struggle in spite of hardship, to make sacrifice in spite of the difficulty in the hardship that it may bring to you. Sacrifice of property, sacrifice of even your limbs or even your blood, even your person.
Those who sacrifice, those who struggle to make Jihad [foreign language] with their possessions [foreign language] with their possessions, their money, their cloth, their jewelry, their home, their car, whatever, is their possession. [foreign language] whatever is their wealth, and forcing him and with their own self with their son. Yes, son, you should too for Allah's sake. With their daughter, yes, daughter, you should bring the equipment. You should bring, you should carry this message even though it might risk your life. You should carry this message. This is for Allah's sake.
Even their daughters, so they sacrifice their persons now. Even their own soul, my own soul maybe telling me, "This going cause great worry, this going cause a great loss. You may not never see Sherley again." And I tell my soul, die soul for Allah's sake. So, I sacrifice even my own soul for Allah's sake, and in sacrificing my soul, I keep my soul for Allah's sake.
So we go on now, and Allah Most High says [foreign language]. Allah has preferred [foreign language] Allah has preferred.
He has bestowed by preference a degree of excellence, a superiority for those who struggle in this way with properties and their souls. He has preferred them and has given them a station of superiority over those who sit, who sit and don't get into the risk nor accept the risk, but just sit and wait the outcome. Many times, their minds can fool them, as it was it was in the case of the Muslims.
They said, "Our women are exposed to danger. We have to go back home. Our women are exposed to danger.'' You want to leave the battlefield? You want leave your brothers out here on the battlefield fighting the enemy, while you go home to see about your daughter? While you go home to see about your wife? When you get there may be they will be gone. Allah, He commands life and death.
Then how will you feel after you get home and they're already dead or they're already gone? They left and you can't find them and now you're not present on the battlefield, and your brothers are meeting the hardship there and facing the foe, the fury of the violence and aggressive foe they are facing in there, and they are taking a great risk and your number there might have just equalized it a bit. Might have saved some lives.
The true believer will feel a big burden on his heart if he knows that he made a mistake running home to protect wife or to protect grand mama or somebody, and gotten there and there wasn't no need. Then how, taking too long to get back to the battle, many lives that he could have saved are lost now. So we have to follow the guidance of Allah.
Now, dear beloved brothers and sisters listen now. Says that He has given them a degree superiority above those who sit at home not accepting to get into the risk. To risk themselves and their properties for Allah's sake.
[foreign language] but for everyone, Allah has promised something good. See how wonderful Allah is. Even if you're one of those, even if you're one of those, who have faith in Allah, you have faith in Allah but for some reason you couldn't go into battle, you couldn't face that great risk, Allah still says, "For everyone," meaning for every one of the believers, "there is something good." They have something good in store.
But look, right behind that, again, [foreign language] however, He has preferred the one who struggles with property and lives above those who sit for a mighty reward. Not just a [foreign language] from a mighty reward. He has preferred them, they are going to get the [foreign language] the might reward. Then Allah goes on [foreign language] Allah says, [foreign language] It is degrees and reward from Him, from Allah, and forgiveness and mercy [foreign language] and Allah is always most forgiving, inclined to forgive and show mercy. Allah speaks to truth, [foreign language] Allah speaks truth.
It's important that we understand the duty on the Muslim. Allah in Quran, He tells the Muslim to sabiru, bear patiently. [foreign language] be patient, be steadfast, and encourage people to be that way in your community. In other words, advocate patience and steadfastness, advocate it. He also have said [foreign language] and He has said walk in allegiance, work in allegiance, go in allegiance, form alliances, form alliances. Let us honor Allah, let us form alliances to combat the evils that are threatening all the people in their good life.
Let us form alliances to advance our financial bases, to advance our economic bases, our economic strength. Let's form alliances to meet the challenge of the tyrants, the bad guys, the devils, the maniacs in the world. Let us form alliances to preserve what Allah wants us to preserve. Allah says [foreign language] let us form alliances to advance the Dawah of Islam.
[foreign language] but Allah also say [foreign language] not in the same Surah but in another verse [foreign language] with work, with possessions, risking life, risking your cars, risking your Mercedes Benz, risking your castle, risking your children, risking your grandparents for Allah's sake.
If it's necessary, if it's necessary [foreign language] for Allah who Has given us guidance for sure, and has given us the opportunity to be men. To rise up from the level of boys in this world. It is the Quran that speaks to the man in me. It's the Quran that awakens the man in me and shows me my responsibities to my babies, to my wife, to my mother, to my grandmother that that responsibilty is a responsibility that He has given me.
Crowd: Allahu Akbar.
Preacher: It is the Quran that awakens the man in me and shows me my responsibility to my babies, to my life, to my mother, to my grandmother. If that responsibility is a responsibility that he has given me, and maybe the world will say, "Look, this is the time for every individual care about his own concerns." Maybe the world will tell me to leave mama, forget about mama, forget about life. Go play, join the Playboy club. Maybe world will induce me to do these things. But as long as I keep my eyes on Allah wants and follow the Quran, follow the example by Muhhammed then I will do what Allah wants me to do in these situations. So I'll keep my relationships with my family, I will keep my duty to my family, and I will keep my duty to everything that places a responsibility on me under Allah.
As Allah decides not as the world decides. You see, so this is salvation, this is salvation. Not only that, I repeat, this religion, this Quran, it speaks to the man in us. For the first time, we can hear Allah, not George. Allah is speaking to the man in me. Allah is telling me that yes you have the capacity. I created you with the capacity. All you have to do is save yourself from those influences that want to make you selfish, blind, corrupt, ignorant, a slave in the world. Come to me and be my servant. I created you. The whole world serves me. The sun, the moon, the stars, everything in creation serve me. Nothing have any relationship to me except as servant. Everything in his relationship to me is serving the Lord, servant to Lord, servant to master. Now, mister, you want to be independent of servant. You don't want to be a servant. Something has come into you that's foreign to the nature I created you in. You can't see yourself bowing down to anything, well, that's your destruction.
Now, those people who still have a desire to be under authority, still have the desire to be under protection of something that is bigger than them, greater than them, more capable of sustaining them than themselves with that little feeble of means. Those people, Allah want them to turn to him and say, "Oh Allah, I am your servant. Oh Allah, I am your slave." That's what you have to do. It took me sometime before I have to say, "Allah, I am your slave."
I say, "Allah, I want to obey you," and finally dawned on me what Ab mean in Quran. That Allah wants slaves. A slave is one who can't do better. He feels he doesn't have the strength or the means to change his circumstances. He is locked into that situation that is too big for him to handle.
An ordinary servant, one that's hired to do a job you walk away anytime you want.
That ain't the relationship I want with Allah. I want the relationship of a slave with Allah. I want to fear for my very life. I want to feel that I can't make it better if I leave Allah.
I want to feel that I can't make it better if I leave Allah, and I want to feel that if I leave Allah I will suffer consequences that I just can't deal with. Consequences that I just can't sustain but he will finish me off.
I want to be more afraid of Allah, this master, than any slave had ever been of any other master in the world. So I want a slave to master relationship with Allah. I want to follow Prophet Muhammd who was the ab of Allah, and Moses, and Abraham, all of them who are the ab of Allah, who were the slave of Allah.
They accepted their helplessness under Allah and that's what it means when you say ab, you mean you're accepting your helplessness under this master and no man can be my master anymore, now that I have accepted Allah, no man can be my master, no nation can be my master. Nothing can be my master now except Allah, the lord who created me and everything.
That's my only master. No more master. I'm not the ab of anything but Allah. The Muslims, every Muslim woman and man, you should not be the ab of anything but Allah. You are only the ab of Allah. You're a slave of Allah alone. You may assist each other but you're carrying out your duty as Allah has dictated. You're not serving them as lord, you are serving Allah as lord. You're not serving them as master, you're serving Allah as master.
I love my family I serve them, I do their biddings, I try to please them, but I'm not serving them as lord, I'm serving Allah as lord. I'm doing what Allah has required in this relationship. That's the attitude to have and fear nothing but Allah. Now, we know it's impossible for us not to experience fear, we don't experience fear if we're going to do something right. Something that threatens us, threaten our life, we may sense fear, but that fear will not be as great as the fear of Allah for the true believer.
He may sense that fear and then right away the memories of Allah comes to him, and he remember his obligation to fear Allah. Then, he changed. Then the thing that was threatening him ,he say woe.
He shows fear, now he show no fear, because now he has been tuned in to his responsibility to Allah. So he says, "Well, you're a great threat, maybe you can kill, but Allah can kill too. You can kill once, Allah kills twice and over and over again." I'm going to do what Allah has ordered me to do and I accept the risk.
Now, people know you're that kind of person, they don't bother you. People leave people alone like that. They don't like that kind of people that had that kind of faith. Prophet Muhammad, peace and justice be on him, when he was fighting the oppressors, those who are prosecuting and trying to stomp out the religion of Islam while he was in his infancy or this beginning stage, they thought they come against it with heavy artillery and great numbers of soldiers and they could stomp out the faith.
But Prophet Muhammad met them with his smaller numbers in the battle field and they would blow their horns, set off their sounds for the battle, and Prophet Muhammad will lead the call of the Muslim's battle cry, "Allahu Akbar."
They could speak Arabic, that was their language. They knew what that meant, it meant, Allah is bigger, and they were feeling good about their numbers. "Well we outnumber them now, we got a thousand men they only got a hundred." We have the bigger army. It will be nothing for us. When they get ready to battle, they hear the Muslim say, "Allahu Akbar." Allah is bigger, that would crush them.
They'll say they're not fighting us with men, they say Allah is bigger. Bigger, what do you mean Allah is bigger? Bigger than our army, bigger than our force, bigger than our power, so they begin to think about that. Now, Prophet Mohammed was telling them, "So yes, your numbers outnumber us, you got the bigger numbers. But Allah is bigger than the force you got." Allahu Akbar.
What did some of the believers tell them, Im not teaching war talk but you have been intimidated, you have been crushed, your spirit have been crushed.
The African-American man living in his big ghettos, your spirit have been crushed, your courage have been crushed. You have been made to accept burden and circumstances that you feel you cannot deal with. You need to be taught the truth about Islam, you need to be given the raw courage of Al-Islam. That's what you need in order to meet the challenge that you have to face in these terrible blighted cities.
Now, brother what if our Muhammad and the Muslims who follow him, what did they tell the enemy when they were going to battle. I mean, they were threatening -- we're going to -- "If you do this and we're going to drive you out. If you do this we're going to kill." He says, "Look, we have men that love death more than you love life, let's get it on." That's the kind of courage you need.
Now, we're talking about fighting individually if we have to. I never want to fight as individual, I never want to kill a person, I never have and never hoped to. I don't want that. But if I have to do that to save a few good people I'd kill a hundred no good people to save just two or three good people. If I have to, if I l can, Allah blessed me with the power to do it, I'll do it.
Yes, certainly I will, and America like people like me. Yes, the government like people like me. They don't like people that let bad people run over them and wash them out and kill them and take over the cities. They can't use people like that. They want people like me. The government got any sense in his strength, they want people like me. So don't be afraid about the government don't say if you take on this new character. The government will say and look, "There are some citizens over there among the Muslims in times of crisis, we may have to call on them."
Yes. What's wrong with me answering my country's call if it's a good call. If it's a just call and they ask me to come, "We need to you strong people. We understand that you don't fear nothing but G-d," see that's right. So we need to handle something that's a monster. If he's a bigger monster than you, so yes, let them look at it. You're right, it was a bigger monster than you. Okay, we're with you, let's get rid of it.

Allahu Akbar.
Crowd: Allahu Akbar.
Preacher: Dear fellow Muslims, let's come into this religion as men and our women will love us. Our women are waiting on the African-American. She's waiting on a Black man in America to be a man, and you can't prove to her you're a man by just being a man in that role, she want to see you a man in all the major roles of manhood, and when she see that you can perform all the major roles of manhood, then she will say, "Thank you Allah, you finally gave me a man".
[laughter]
So, let us live up to the role of manhood, for our women's sake, but most of all for Allah's pleasure, following His guidance.
[background noise]
Preacher: We thank Allah for his guidance, we thank him for the perfect example in Prophet Mohammed, the moral human example for all human beings. We thank him for the revelation, and for the demonstration of guidance and for Mohammed peace and justice be on him. We thank him for the [foreign language] for those who assisted prophet Mohammed, who sacrificed life and limb, who sacrificed wealth and property, who sacrificed all for the sake of Allah for Allah pleasure.
We thank Allah for the great example of these men and these women in history, we thank Allah for them. We pray Allah that he raise up here in this part of the world from among us in this day and time, examples that will reflect the excellence and the courage and the good life and the good intentions, and the good way of those examples that he established in the early life of the Ummah of Al-Islam.
Allah save us from deviating from the way that you guided us aright. Allah, bless us with faith and sound, make us steadfast. Allah, help us to fulfill all of our obligations, our obligations to our self, our obligation to our properties, our obligations to the properties of other people, and our obligation to other people. Help us to fulfill our obligations at home, our obligations to our wives, our obligation to our husband, our obligations to the old ones and to the young. Allah, help us to fulfill all of our obligations. Allah, give us the strength to declare the oneness of Allah, your oneness, and give us the strength to bear witness openly that Mohammed is the universal messenger and the last of the messengers to the world. Amin
