The Truth About Al-Islam Concept of Man

By Imam W. Deen Mohammed
We give all praise to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. We witnessed that there is none to worship except the one G-d. And that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger. We pray peace and blessings, prayers and blessings on to prophet Muhammad and on his companions, his descendants, and companions, the righteous and what follows of the most excellent salutation.
We begin, always acknowledging that there is one Lord, the creator, one G-d, as we say in English, responsible for the benefit that comes to us. And that He is the only one responsible for those benefits, that there is not two Allah, or two G-ds. Only one responsible for the creation and for everything that we have, as good or as benefit. We acknowledge Him, and for many people, that very pure concept, very pure way of addressing the Lord of the worlds is a confusion, is confused.
Many don't understand that Muslims believe in one Lord who created everything and is responsible for everything, of good, everything that we have that benefit us in our lives. We tell our children when they are very small before they are able to really carry-on a conversation with us, we tell them that there is Allah, one Lord, one G-d, responsible for everything. We can reach them and they understand at a very early age. When they see the sky, we tell them, "Allah made the sky." When they feel the wind, we tell them, "Allah made the wind." We tell them, "Allah is the creator. The maker of everything."
We tell them that Allah made mommy, Allah made daddy, Allah made you, Allah made everything. It is very easily understood by the child. I've seen children start responding after a little bit of that kind of conversation, and you see the expression on their face. If they were playful, they start to get serious, and the eye show that they're thinking about it. Sometimes if they were sad, you see relief come on their faces, they start to show a sign of relief from sadness, as we talk to them like that. Why? Because it is the nature of creation to acknowledge creator. And we are creation and Allah is Creator.
Some have thought that we believed in man as G-d. Our religion is the religion that have condemned the idea that man is a G-d, more so than any other religion that I am aware of. Our religion attacks that idea, that a mortal, that creation can be G-d, and that men should worship creation as a G-d. Our religion, more so than any other religion that I know of, attacks that kind of idea, condemns it and shows it up for what it is, and that is falsehood, nothing but falsehood. Ignorance and falsehood. But still, our religion has been presented in such a way to make people think that Muslims believe a man is G-d.
I have read books by confused Westerners or either Westerners authors who had a scheme to present the religion falsely. They allude in their writing that Muslims worship Muhammad as
G-d. And that is farthest from the truth. Prophet Muhammad, more so than any messenger of G-d, addresses the false idea of the mortal being made a G-d. Prophet Muhammad, himself, made it very clear that he was not anything other than a mortal human being, that he had no divine power. As strange as it may seem to some of you, who are Christians, Jesus made that very clear, too, of himself, and peace be upon all the prophets.
He made that very clear, too, that he was a mortal and had no divine power, except what he received from Allah. Prophet Muhammad, it was no different than the prophet Jesus, he said the same. Whatever he was able to do, it was not because of himself, it was because of Allah. Jesus said the same. I repeat, he never claimed any power of his own. All of his power, he said, came from Allah, came from G-d Almighty. Prophet Muhammad lived a life among the people. He is a man of living history. He is not a man of myth, he's a man of living history. The historians acknowledged his place in the living history of man and society.
Prophet Muhammad is no dream, prophet Muhammad is no fantasy, prophet Muhammad is no myth, prophet Muhammad is no storybook prophet. Prophet Muhammad is a real living person who lived and is in history. He lived about 1400 and a few years ago and preached for 20 some years in Arabia. And he was seen in the role of a messenger of G-d, in the role of a father, a father at home, a husband, a fighter on a battlefield, a common person walking through the market, shopping for his food, shopping for his needs. He was seen washing his clothes like a common person would do. He was seen sweeping the house for his wife like a common person would do.
And the wonderment that came to the people, say, "What kind of prophet is this? What kind of messenger of G-d is this that shop in the market places and do the common things of the common people, and go about like a common mortal? What kind of messenger? What kind of prophet is this?" And the revelation came, saying, "Prophet Muhammad is a mortal human being just like you." Allah revealed in the holy book, "Muhammad is a mortal human being just like you." Why does it say, "Just like you"? Mithlukum, just like you all. Why does it say mithlukum, mean just like you all? Mithlukum means just like you all. Mithluka means just like you, one. Mithlukum means just like you all.
Why did the revelation comes saying, "Prophet Muhammad is a mortal person just like you all.? Because Jesus made it clear, too, peace be upon him, that he was a mortal person. But those who got confused after his passing away, they say, "Yes, he was a mortal but not just like we are. He was a mortal of a different kind, of a different make." It was made very clear after the big mistake was made. It was made very clear that prophet Muhammad, that he is a mortal just like we are. He eats, sleeps, he desires company of a woman, and everything just like we do. He loved his wife, he loved his children, he served them just as common men of decency would do, he shopped in the market, he assists his wife with the chores at the home because women need assistance sometimes with those things.
And the good husband will assist the wife at home with those matters, with those chores. So, he is seen as a common person, and the prophet was used to emphasize, to stress, to emphasize, to make it very clear, through his own example, that Allah has never sent spooks to lead people. Allah have always sent real people to lead people, not spooks, real people. Allah is creator of forms and processes. Allah, He is a creator of forms and processes. We are talking about the religion, misconceptions in our religion, the truth about our religion. Allah is creator of forms and processes. Allah is not the subject of forms and processes. He's not the subject of forms and processes. He's not dependent upon the created form for His own existence. He created forms, He created creation, He does not need it. Allah said in the Quran, that He needs nothing of what He created. Now you say, "Well, that's too much for my imagination to imagine that something can exist without being material, or without surviving upon material. That's too much for my imagination." Well, your imagination is not complete then. The human being has been given the imaginative power to also imagine existence not depending upon the physical realm or the physical idea of things. He has been given the power; he has been given imagination to imagine the time before material things.
And if you can't imagine a time before material things, then you have a problem even if you are so-called rational thinker. Prophet Muhammad, he came and he established a religion on the order, or after the way of Abraham the prophet. Abraham was a prophet who came to conclusions about faith, about G-d. He came to those conclusions following his good rational sense. That's Abraham. He stands out among the prophets for that particular characteristic. He was a prophet who had to be satisfied with the rational test of things, he had to test things rationally. Even things that were beyond the complete rational grasp for Abraham, he had to have some rational consolation for his rational life, his rational needs. We have to understand that following rational thought, we come to an end.
We say, this earth begins from somewhere. Man begin from somewhere, two people, you may call them Adam and Eva or male and female. Two people started all of this. Ok. Well where did they come from? They have come from somewhere. They evolved out of the earth. But where did the earth come from? It had to come from somewhere. From this material universe. Well, how did it get started? So, there are men who can accept their rational faculty, their reasoning power tells them that there is a limit to their own rational grasp. But it doesn't mean that there is not support somewhere for all of these things that is logical or rational. I have just reached my limitations down the road of rational thought. But Allah has power over all things. So, there's always a need for faith.
We cannot live in this world without faith. If we could prove everything by rational test, where would there be any room for faith? Where would there be any room for belief? Belief mean that I can't know everything, I can't prove everything rationally but I believe that there is still rational proof out there, but I just can't get it. So, there has to be room for belief. And Allah has made us creatures of faith and creatures of belief. None of you are void of faith and belief, none of you were void of something like hope, you don't know everything. You don't know when you're going to die.
None of us know if we're going to live to see through today or not and you don't know what end is going to come to you. None of us know for sure what state we're going to be in whether it's going to be nothing or something. None of us going to know whether you going to be conscious of another existence or conscious beyond the grave. None of us know for sure of that. None of us can guarantee all of us, and say, no there is nothing.
No, there will be nothing. When you die that's the end. We can pretend that we know, we can make a good show of knowing. There's nothing beyond the grave, you put a gun in his face that he knows is loaded and he will start thinking quite differently.
We have to accept, that there's a limit to our powers as human beings. We are not G-d, we're limited. Rational power is great, but it's limited. Imagination of the human person is great but even it's limited. So, we reach a point where we just have to go on faith. But that faith, if its the faith that Allah intended for us, that faith is not without some rational support for it. Always some rational support for it. What do we say? What do the Muslim say? Ad-dunya. This material world that we call reality that we see out here. Lam tujid wahdaha, it did never existed by itself. It cannot exist by itself. This is our belief that it can't exist by itself. There is something behind it, something responsible for its existence.
We know in science that tells us even the sun is going to one day burn out, that the sun is not an ever-living body. If science tells us the sun is on one day burn out, what's going to happen to the earth? The earth needs the sun for its own existence. They say when the sun burns out the earth long before it's going to just collapse. Some say that they have a theory that everything is going to come, the sun starts to burn out, the planets are going to come close to the sun, and they're just going to be consumed in the fire of the Sun. This is one theory, so there are theories about how it's going to happen.
They all agree that the sun is not an ever-living body. Nothing of this material world that some of us want to attach ourselves to so strongly, and attaching ourselves to so strongly to this material world is a sign of limited intelligence. It's the ignorant people that have that compulsion to just hold on strongly, to all the material reality and can't believe in anything beyond material. The ignore people have that compulsion. Its also a sign of the sinner. The sinner that must sin and has no desire to ever repent from sinning and intend to live a life of sinning forever, the sinner want to hold on to the material world.
One of the biggest sinners that ever existed in the history of man was Pharaoh. He was a sinner, he enslaved people he took advantage of people, he built his own glory at the expense of others. And Pharaoh couldn't accept that there was anything beyond the material. He made jokes of the Prophet. He told prophet, Oh, I'll help you out, Moses." Peace be upon the Prophet Moses. He said, "I'll help you out, Moses. I'll have my builder, build a scaffold to go up in the sky. Let's go up there and see can see that G-d that he's talking about".
Made jokes of it. And Moses never told him he could go up to the heavens up there and find G-d. Moses believed in a G-d that was up there and everywhere else. But he made jokes of it. Everything that Moses talked about is above your head, too far above your head for you to ever see or witness. But what I'm talking to you about is right here. That's what Pharaoh said. He said, I don't tell you anything that you can't understand with your own mind. But Moses talks above your head." He made jokes of Moses, but who won? He was drowned in the sea, Moses crossed with his followers safely. That's the history of a man in his ignorance, challenging that that is true, and that, that G-d intended for him.
That's his history. He makes a big show. He creates a big disturbance. He makes big boast but he ends up lost, nothing. He goes away, disgraced, and the one that he was trying to disgrace goes away or marches on victoriously and written down his victory in history. Yes. That's the way it has gone forever. Tell me how much have the people who can't see beyond their own limits, how much have they given the world? What have Pharaoh left us but stones? A lot of stones over there on the sands of the Nile, the banks of the Nile, the river in Egypt on the continent of Africa. He got a lot of stones over there.
He got a lot of mummies over there and even a few lemons and some grain seeds that he found a way to preserve even until now for a thousand of years. But you don't want to eat those mummified things, but they're over there. That really is extreme attachment to material things. He didn't even want his lemon to die. He wanted his lemon to stay live and looking pretty forever. Even his corn, he got it over there, he found a way to make it stay and look good forever. His body, he just didn't want it to deteriorate. He found a way to make his skin stay the same. Allah wouldn't let him have a complete victory there. The skin looks like tight stockings on his face.
Tight ladies stockings. I saw him, I have been over there, because of being your leader I get a chance to go a lot of places. I have been over there and his skin looks like tight stockings on his face, look like you put it up like that and look at the bone. Just a skin-tight stocking over some bones. And his hair is still there too. But his hair looks like you shouldn't touch it, don't try to brush it, it will come right out his head. Very delicate, very delicate. We have to understand that our religion, this religion of Al-Islam, I'm saying this to Muslims now. I'm also saying this to Christians, to our guest that we hope will learn something from this that they can appreciate. We're talking to them too but mainly to the Muslims, you have to understand your religion more so than any other religion attacks the idea that a mortal human person can be a G-d.
You have to understand that your religion more so than any other religion, presents rational basis for the belief in a life hereafter or life after the graves. Not that it satisfies us rationally and proves everything, no. It leaves much to be understood but it gives us some rational basis. It says, "Don't you know that the one who did this creation the first time is able to do it again? Don't you know that the one who created this from nothing is able to do it again?" It says, "Don't you know that the one who created you from dust and then made you a mortal, with flesh and bones and flesh on your bones is able to do it again?"
It says, He has created the first creation and He will also create another creation. He will make another creation. It says, He is the one who starts the creation from the beginning and He is the one that can repeat it. It says, Don't you know that the one who gave you life for the first time is able to give you life again? Now, that's rational. If I believe that something gave me a life the first time, how comes that same is not able to give me life again? It gave me life from nothing, how come it can't give me life from something? But when I die, I'm not nothing, I'm something.
We get a car and the motor not running, the battery not running. We say, that car is dead. And we take it to a good mechanic and he put another battery in it. Cant Allah put another battery? If the battery is missing, cant He put another battery in? If the motor is missing, can't He give me another motor? Cant He give me spark plugs again so I would be able to spark a fire and turn on again? That's rational to believe that the one who did it the first time is able to do it again.
And then our religion tells us that it is not only a promise from G-d but it's an obligation. G-d is obligated because it wouldn't be just to let some people come in this world and go out losers in the eyes of the people. Although we know in the eyes of G-d, they were never losers if they were right. But in the eyes of the people, they went out losers. G-d is obligated to establish them as winners. One day the losers and that person that they call the losers, they were really losers. They call that good follower of G-d, that believe in G-d the losers. They're going to meet G-d in the judgment.
And G-d is going to say, "See the person you thought was the loser. Now look at him, he is saved and youre lost." Thats an obligation on Him, justice demands that. Justice demands that, the one that lived up to what G-d asks of him be approved one day, and those that condemned him and laughed at him be showed up one day. That's the justice of G-d. They have to be proven wrong; they have to acknowledge that they're wrong. They have to see their own failure and they have to witness the success of that person that was serving G-d and giving his all to G-d. That's the requirement of justice, according to the teachings of our religion.
Again, we have to understand that our religion has been made a cartoon religion by some people that want to present the wrong picture. They've made a cartoon religion. People who believe in genies, rub lamps, float on carpets. That's cartoon stuff. Then it has been a religion that have been put in a picture as a religion that give prominence and give popularity to wine drinkers. In our religion, more so than any other religion condemns all drugs. We can't take any drugs. Whether it's liquid, powder, no drugs.
Allah says, first the revelation came telling the believers don't come to prayer intoxicated. Then the revelation came later telling them that intoxication are the works of the devil. Stay away from it if you expect to be successful. The revelation came and then all drugs were condemned outright. From that time on, believers, Muslims could not take any form of drugs. Some people don't even know it, alcohol is a drug. It is one of the drugs that have abused us more than any other drug if you look at the long span of history. But if you look at here just recently, certain crack and these things are the biggest troublemakers. But if you look at the long span of history, alcohol has been the most abusive drug on the people.
So, understand that our religion does not accept that we take any drugs of any kind. Our religion says this, here is the rules in our religion. The Prophet told us this, that anything taken in normal amounts to satisfy your normal taste or appetite. If its harmful to you in any portion no matter how small of that thing is forbidden. If we're thirsty for water we can take a normal glass of water, it's okay. But even water taken in extremes can hurt you. If you be silly minded and just keep drinking, you're going to end up with a problem. They are going to treat you for kidney trouble or something, you end up with a problem.
Anything in extreme, that's another rule in our religion, anything in extreme can become a problem or a sin anything. You can kiss each other too much and it becomes sin. You just wake up, anytime you wake up you're mm, mm, mm. It is time to go to work and you're mm, mm, mm. It's an hour late now, you should have been an hour ago, you here mm, mm, mm, mm. It's now a sin. It has become a sin. And we are told in this religion that the devil is the one that promotes extremism. He promotes behavior to the extreme. Now, understand he's the devil, so don't think he just promotes bad behavior to extreme, he also promotes good behavior to the extreme.
Love is a good thing, love for each other is good. The devil if he can't get you to hate each other then he will get to love each other too much that you're loving each other becomes a sin. I hope you understand what I'm saying. Praying is a good thing, praying to Allah is a good thing but the devil is very clever. If he can't get you to stop praying to Allah, he will start encouraging you to pray to Allah in extreme. So, you do nothing but pray and you become a sinner praying. A sinner with your prayers. To pray and not take care of your babies is a sin. To let your prayers take you away from going to rescue your baby that needs a diaper change or something is a sin.
To pray so much that your husband does not get any sexual satisfaction. Husband want some satisfaction, is a sin. You can pray and your husband can't get no satisfaction. Okay now, your prayer has become a means for your sinning. In other words, we don't believe in no hermits. We don't believe in no monks; we don't believe in those things. Prophet Muhammad questioned the people, he said that they presented a man to him. This man is a holy man, all he does is just stay in the mosque and he prays and he fast. Prophet Muhammad said who's taking care of him? And they said, "We are." Muhammad said, "Well, then you are better than he is."
And people have been made to believe that our religion is the religion that condones extremism. We have terrorists that's put before us. They're called extremists. We're made to believe that our religion is a religion that gives birth to these extremists. That is wrong. What gives birth to these extremists, these guerilla fighters or these freedom fighters, or liberators trying to liberate Palestine or whatever they're trying to liberate, what give birth to them, is the evils that are put upon them by the superpowers. The superpowers have taken away their life, they have made it impossible for them to live the only life they know people. They have taken away their land, their home, and everything and destroyed their families and killed their babies and old people.
The superpowers that brought those evil from those people in Palestine and other parts of the third world or Islamic world. They are responsible for the terrorists, they are the makers of terrorists, they are the makers of extremists, not our religion.
Look how burdensome our life in America is at times. Nobody can make sense of anything. So many weird things are happening. So much wrong is being done sometimes that it creates people like Manson, who he gets a crazy idea and he thinks he's a Christ to liberate people. He uses the methods of the Satan or of the devil to make his point. Who created him? The same forces that take away humanity, deny humanity, won't allow a man to live a decent and honorable life, go to court, you can't get justice, something is done to his love one and he can't get no justice, he can't give a hearing, he can't get a decent hearing.
Some people can't take those disappointments. They go wild, they go crazy and they do crazy things. And then the superpower is also responsible for giving us false ideas of G-d. It is not in the primitive society that we find the lies about G-d that we find. We find those lies in the superpower and those are societies ruled by what we call the superpowers. The lies about G-d, telling man all these weird ideas about G-d and all kind weird ideas about heaven and angels, weird ideas about his own nature and creation and making him go crazy some people can't deal with it. I'm not going to go any plainer than that.
I'm going to leave it just like that. We have been given weird ideas of G-d, weird ideas of heaven, weird ideas of angels, weird ideas of the origin of man and woman, weird ideas. For some of us, it's just too much. We say I'm going to be G-d myself. I must straighten this out. And here comes Manson. Some think that our religion is a religion that support slavery but it is our religion more so than any other religion that condemn slavery, that liberated slaves. Not only the Prophet but his companions were seen, using their personal monies to liberate slaves by the dozen, not one slave not, two slaves, many slaves. One of his companions paid money and liberated about 6o slaves at one time. Yes.
Then, our holy book requires that if we intentionally fail to pass the month of Ramadan, that we may feed so many hungry people to make up for that failure on our part. And then some failures or duty on our part, we can make up by freeing so many slaves. This is our holy book. So, our holy book has provision in it for the liberation of slaves, not yesterday, but today and forever. Any time they're slaves because slavery is a condition that can come about any time. Who knows what 200 years from now will bring about? There may be men in great numbers put into slavery. Well, our holy book will be here 200 years from now and it will require that we liberate slaves. And it will require that men who fail religious duty, some religious duty, will require them to liberate so many slaves to make up for that omission on their part. This is our religion.
Prophet Muhammad came and broke the grip of the slave master on his subjects by making him a slave himself. It was Prophet Muhammad who said that G-d say you all are His slaves. Master and servant, master and slave G-d says you all are His slaves. Now, dont you to know that is the most powerful tool for liberating a slave. You tell, here I am, I'm a slave of somebody, John. I'm John's slave. And here comes the revelation of G-d and it says, "Not only am I a slave, but John also is a slave." Allah says to the revelation that John is my slave and also Wallace is my slave. I was given the name Wallace at birth. The revelation says, "John, you're my slave, Wallace you're my slave." I will start looking at John. He'd be saying I'm his slave and Allah says, "John you're my slave, Wallace you're my slave." So, Allah has put the two slaves that were once on unequal footing. Allah has put those two slaves on equal footing by saying both of you are my slaves. And He has dignified both the slaves. He put both the slaves in a higher plain of dignity. He made the slave master who was only a master of a little weakling like me, a servant now of the highest authority in existence. And he made me also a servant of the highest authority in existence. Now, I'm looking at John and I saying, "He aint G-d, I'm G-ds slave. His authority aint superior to G-d's authority, G-d says, "I'm his slave, not John's slave."
Now if the revelation touches the heart of John and Wallace there's going to be definitely a quick liberation of the slaves. John is going to say, "I can't keep a slave that belongs to Allah." He says, "Wallace is Allah's slave. What I'm doing with Allah's slave and I'm Allah's slave too." So, John would start to repent. If he got any repentance in him. He would start to repent, and say I can't keep Wallace as a slave anymore. Wallace doesn't belong to me as a slave. Wallace belongs to Allah as a slave and I belong to Allah as a slave."
But that wasn't the end of that, the Prophet came and he told the people who are slaves, he said, "Your slaves are your brothers." He said, "And you must feed them as you feed your own children. You must clothe them as you clothe your own children. And you must educate them as you educate your own children." What was he saying in the most effective way? Liberate your slaves, bring your slave up to a status of free man, and treat him as you treat your own children. That was what Prophet Muhammad was saying. That's the powerful way of saying it. Abraham Lincoln said, "The slaves must be free. This union must be preserved. We cannot have one form of economy in one part of United States, and an opposing conflicting form in another part of United States. We must have a united United States."
And he went to war to save that union. Some of us think he went to war to liberate slave. He went to war to save the economy of the United States for the idea that they perceived, and that was the idea of democracy, free enterprise, et cetera. So, he went to war to save that. Now we know that the enslavement of human beings was definitely an issue but that was not the main issue. The main issue was the conflict of principle, conflict of economic principle and idea that this United States cannot be divided like this. They went to war to save the union.
That's what the war was fought for but in the process, the evil of enslaving another human being. And mind you, slavery in American history is not equal in its evil, it is wickedness, in its abuse to a human being by slavery in no other part of the world at any time in history. Understand that. Certainly, Arabs have had slaves over there but no Arab has slaves like America has slaves. No Arabs has ever had slaves like America has slaves. No Arab said to a slave, "You are not a full human being." No Arab have treated slaves like they were animals. No Arab have denied slave family. They still could be family. Slave could still have his wife, still have his children, still enjoy a good family. No Arab would sell the child of the mother to another slave master knowing that the family would never see that child again. No Arab would do that.
This slavery in America is called by the American people, by American historians, the peculiar institution of slavery. What does that mean? That there's nothing like it in history. It is the peculiar institution of slavery. Consult the Encyclopedia Britannica for yourself and read about the institution of slavery. You will find that our writers in America say that it is the peculiar institution of slavery, this enslavement of our people.
They had to have some justification for enslaving us. Christians wouldn't accept that you enslave a full human being so they had to fool the Christians and made them believe that we were caught in the evolution somewhere between monkey and man.
This is a fact. They had to trick the Christians, the simple-minded Christians and make them believe that we were trapped somewhere between the evolution of monkey and man. We were in between there; we werent a full man yet and weren't real monkeys but close to it. And they called us monkeys. They actually called us monkeys and apes and things. They called us that, and made them believe that we're not a real human being yet. We were evolving but not quite a human being yet. So, they could feel kind of comfortable if their nation condones the enslavement of creatures that were not quite full human.
When it's convenient for us, we close our eyes and buy the lie. We know they weren't that stupid. Most of them weren't that stupid, but when you are desperate to get advantage of something, you close your eyes and you do a stupid thing. You believe a stupid thing. And when the desperation is removed, then it's easier for you to see the truth. When the desperation is removed. I know some people who are following me. They were satisfied with La ilaha illallah, Muhammadar rasulullah. They were satisfied in the belief of the hear-after and the Prophet Muhammad being the last prophet. They were satisfied with that until their stomach start to cramp.
Didn't have money to buy those big lamb chops and shoulder chops and loin chops and stuff. Didn't have money to keep that Mercedes parked out in front of his house. The new philosophy and new system had changed the material reality for them. It just wasn't coming in so easy anymore and they got so desperate, they didn't see anything that they said they believed in under me. They went back to what they claimed to believe in under the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, my father.
They said, Oh, no. The black man is G-d, the white man is the devil, and Yakub grafted the devil 6,000 on the island of Pilon in the Patmos. And the moon was deportated, and the sun was put up in the sky by a black man who stood on nothing and he put the sun in the skies standing on nothing. He himself was nothing but just a hole, a black spot. He began to gyrate in the space and he gyrated himself into a burning fire and after a while, he was a black man. He created himself out of nothing. You see, desperation will make you really go way out.
Understand Muslims, understand that our religion more so than any other religion condemned the enslaving a human being. Not only that, our religion condemns mistreatment of the animal or a tree, a pet. It teaches us to respect everything that Allah has created. He has created everything for a purpose and everything is dignified in its purpose. The plant, no matter how significant it may look to you, it is dignified in the purpose that Allah assigned to it. The animal, no matter how inferior or ugly it looks to you, it is dignified in the purpose that Allah has assigned for it.
We are to treat everything with respect, if not out of respect for what Allah has created in that thing or created that thing to be, we should at least have a respect for it knowing that it is a creation of Allah. Yes. This is the Muslim religion. There's nothing that we can disrespect. Then, you might say, "Are we the kind of creatures that can't kill anything? Can we eat an animal?" Yes, we eat it because Allahs purpose for that was created to be eaten too. Yes, but don't eat more than you need to consume. Don't be greedy and just kill up a whole lot of them.
And when you see the species is threatened, then stop eating that. You can survive on something else. Allah wanted them to stay around here. If we started eating chicken so much and we hear that the chicken's survival is threatened on earth, we just stop eating so much chicken and start eating something else. For Allah put them here, He wanted them to stay around here. They make up the beautiful plan, the beautiful scheme in Allah's creation. We want them to stay here.
If the meat itself becomes a problem, we're just eating so much meat that's why there's no more meat. Then, stop eating meat. Start eating some vegetables. More vegetables and more fruit. We are capable of doing that. We can make adjustments. That's all I'm saying. We can make adjustments to save the scheme that Allah wants on this earth. We should preserve that and save it. We should serve that. All of us are created to be servants of Allah and none of us are divine, none of us are G-d.
There's the issue of the mistreatment of women in our religion. They say, The women are inferior in that religion. The women are made the slaves of men. Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him, the revelation came to him and it condemned the abuse of women. Men were divorcing their women with no respect for them at all. When they want a divorce from a woman, they would simply tell the woman. This was the culture. This was the culture. This was the custom. This was the tradition of those people.
When they wanted to divorce a woman, they say it simply to the woman, "Be to me as my mother's buttocks." That was the way they divorced women when Prophet Muhammad was alive on this earth in that area. In that peninsula we call Arabia now. They were saying, "Be to me as my mother's buttocks." Meaning, I have no sexual feeling or no sexual desire for you at all. That's what they were saying. No more than I have for my own mother. That's how they divorced women in those days.
The revelation came saying, "Do not say to them, in divorcing them that they are to you as your mothers. They are not your mothers; they are your wives." That's the revelation that came from Allah speaking to a heathen, wild crazy people. They were crazier than some of you.
Yes, they would kill you for disagreeing with them. They would bring out the gang on you. Prophet Muhammad was one man alone. He didn't have no defense but Allah. When he began, he had no defense but Allah. He went to their most sacred place, which is still the most sacred place for us because Abraham left that house there and though they had turned it into a house for corruption and ignorance, it was not established to be abused like that. It was established to be a great sign, a great sign.
It was built by Prophet Abraham and his son Prophet Ismael or Ishmael. As they call Ibrahim, we call Abraham and Ismael. In the West, it's called Abraham and Ishmael. It was built by those two prophets, peace be upon them, as a great sign for all times. The first house built for all people. Built for all people. In fact, I have here. Surely, the first house ever built or made for all people is that house in Mecca. The Kaaba. The first house built by Abraham and his son.
It is the oldest house of worship surviving until now on this earth built for all people, for all people. It didn't say for Muslims; it didn't say for Arab. It says, it's for all people. It is a mysterious sign there of the house, the idea of worship that Allah intend for all people. Now, is the house a G-d? This is another falsehood that is attributed to our religion. That we believe that there is some mysterious thing, power. There's a G-d there. The black stone is a G-d. We worship it.
No. It's no G-d. The truth of the matter is this, that Prophet Muhammad, the house had been deteriorated, the stone has fallen out of its place, Prophet Muhammad took the stone up, he was selected too by those people that rejected him. He was selected. They reverenced the house so they saw him coming and the chiefs were in a process of repairing the house and they saw Prophet Muhammad coming and they said, "Here comes Al-Amin." They called him Al-Amin, meaning the honest one or the trustworthy one.
Here comes Al-Amin. Let him solve our problem for us. Each chief wanted the dignity of carrying the stone himself and putting it in its place. The problem was solved when they selected Prophet Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad got a cloth and he put the stone in the middle of the cloth and he told each chief to take an edge of the cloth. And that allowed all of them to have the pride or the dignity of carrying the stone.
Then, when they took it to its place, Prophet Muhammad took his hands and lifted out of the cloth and put the stone into its place. The stone is a black stone. Now, Abraham, so you understand something about the stone because Western writers have charged us with worshiping this stone. That we believe the stone is some kind of G-d. How did the stone get there in the first place? Where did it get its special kind of respect? How did it get that special respect? Where did it come from?
Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him, he was wondering where should he build G-d's house. A meteor, a falling star fell from the heavens and it fell down and Prophet Abraham understood by that that he was to build the house there. The stone cools off, Prophet Abraham takes the stone and he used it in the construction of the house. He pushed that stone in a special place in the construction of the house.
The stone is in the corner of the house. This is no mystery. Bakkah, this name Bakkah, old name for Mecca is in the Bible. It's in the Bible if you understand it. Bakkah is in the Bible. Not only that, in the Bible. The Prophet Muhammad didn't come with something that didn't have some witness before it. Prophet Muhammad didn't say I'm bringing you something for the first time. He said, "What I'm bringing you is what has been already promised you in the gospel and in the Old Testament or in the Old Testament and in the Gospel or the New Testament." This is what Muhammad said. I have read in the Bible where it says, "And that reject the stone shall become the corner. The rejected stone shall become the corner.
Now, if I am correct in making this association now, then this stone is a rejected stone. This stone is symbolic of something that we rejected, that man, society has rejected. And Allah intend for it to be a cornerstone in whatever this construction represents as a symbol. A cornerstone because that's where it's placed, right in the corner. Now, I have done some research on masonry in the olden times and studying masonry building in olden times, they would find the angle first, the angle. If they wanted to build a square house, first they would get a right angle. Then the right angle would be placed down and they would form the stones into the right angle.
They formed the stones into the right angle. So, they would build the stone in the right angle, forming a right angle. Then all they would have to do is line other stones up to this right angle and the stones would be lined up so you have two walls now and a right angle. You have the two walls and a right angle. Then it's very easy to add the other two walls. Because you've got already the angle. You got already the angle, you got the line, the line straight is even easier than to make. Some of them you should just cut a stone itself. One stone and form into a perfect square, right angle.
Then you cut the other stones perfectly to fit them and you can just build a straight wall, just to have in one straight. One straight then other straight. Now, isn't that the way society is? If one leader is straight and they all line up perfectly with that leader, won't they all be straight? But you know if he's straight and they going to come up with rough edges, he's straight and they're going to come up with a walk, with a bit, with a crook and they line up with him, the whole house is going be off pretty soon.
The stone is a sign there. The stone came from the heavens. We believe that Adam was made in heaven. Adam, the first father was made in heaven. Then he was brought down and constructed in earth. He was made in heaven but put in the earth and then he got his full construction in the earth. The stone fell from the heavens. I'm not insisting that you go along with my association of these things, with my explanation for these things, but I'm just offering it to you. If you like it, take it. I like it, I got it. I'm going to keep it.
The stone now was burning in the heavens, wasn't it? It was a star on fire in the heavens. It was bright. Bright in the heavens. Now, what is bright in the heavens of our imagination? Angelic qualities of man? The angelic qualities of man. They are bright in our vision, in our sight. The angelic walls of a man. Man was trying to be an angel and he wasn't created to be an angel. So, he fell from heaven because he was not meant to be an angel. And he fell to the earth and he turned black. Black is the opposite of white. White is symbolic of angels. Then he changed from angel personality to human personality. That's all it means. Now, you might say, well, look at that. That's talking about the African black man. No, it's not. Flesh is black.
If you don't believe it, let the white man die and keep looking at him. Just stay there. You've got patient, just sit there and look at him, he's going to turn black. He doesnt stay white. When he dies, he goes back, he's black too. We know black earth is symbolic of what? Mother earth with his riches, with his richness for life. Man want a good harvest, a good crop, he wants to put a seed in some black earth. Is that right? It's symbolic of the life of earth. Black. Symbolic of the best, the rich and living life of earth, the black. Don't think any more of black man in skin color. Think of the earth in its fertility. So, Allah didnt want him up there burning in the heavens as an angel or as a hermit or a nun or a priest or something that can't have a wife and can't work in the field, they can't have children.
He wanted them to come down here and take on fertility and production in the earth. When we understand our purpose that Allah assigned to us and conform to that and construct society accordingly, we will have the order of society, the house and the order of society that Allah intended for us. But we got to come away from these crazy imaginations, we got to come away from these trips that we can never quite finish. We can finish the job of being humans on earth, we can finish that. Yes, many of us have died and retired and we say, "I have gone to my Lord at peace. Because we feel satisfied with our achievements as human beings on this earth but just think if we were trying to be the originator or something, we couldn't die in peace.
Important for us to understand also is that this human nature of ours is the nature that was rejected and is still rejected in Western society. They tell us that man in his natural form is destined to sin. That man in his natural form is rejected. Isn't that what they tell us? Not just one religion, but the several western religions tell us the same thing. Man, in his naturalness is rejected. Man, in order to be accepted, has to reject his naturalness and come into divinity. Divine.
Many of the members of religious orders, before the renaissance, the enlightenment period in the life of Western society, they believe that if you didn't have this, then you were the subjects of Satan. And they had to rule over you just like they ruled over demons. This is the history of the church in that time of ignorance. It treated its common subjects as demons, possessed by demons and et cetera. They didn't allow them to go to school, they couldn't be educated. The common people couldn't be educated. Women or men. And they believe that women were allied with Satan. That the female was an ally of Satan.
This is history of the church in the times of ignorance. Church wasn't the only one believed in that ignorance. There were other people believed that too. When the knowledge came, that the human being is excellent, his intellect must be free. He must be allowed to exercise his own judgment in matters, he is created to be an autonomous creature, a creature responsible for himself, for the government of himself. He's on earth, put on earth by G-d to exercise his liberties. When those kinds of ideas came, they had to go to war with the ancient order. Didn't they? They had to go to war with the ancient order because that was the idea of man that was rejected.
Understand that. Allah says, "Wherever you are Muslims, turn your faces toward this house and wherever you may be on earth, scattered and dispersed, Allah will bring you together." That house is a symbol of unity for us then, isn't it? No matter where we be on earth. Meaning not only are separated by miles or by physical distances or by geography, it means that we may be separated even by ideology, but in our separate minds and in our separate ideology, if we will all recognize what that symbol stands for and direct ourselves to that center for us as a world society or an international body. If we will all agree in that symbol, Allah will bring us back into unity. Because that symbol is going to put all of us in on an equal footing, it's going to put all of us back into the realm of nature and reality. It's going to bring all of us back to the realness of the human person to the central makeup of every man and woman. Its going to put us on equal plane and on that, we can have agreement, peace, and equality. This is our religion. Dont let nobody tell you that our religion is a religion of superstition. Our religion is the religion that came to do battle with superstition more so than any other religion. Yes. Our religion tells us that don't think that Allah has done all this wonderful work of creation for play.
This is no play thing. He hasn't done this for sport and play. This is to be taken seriously. And it also tells us that He has not made the heaven and the earth but for just ends. The conclusion of all of this, all of this is design to bring about the movement of man to justice, to the meeting with justice. Justice is the aim and object of even His creation. Justice. We find that no matter how crazy man gets, no matter how far you going away from truth and reality, nature itself, the creation itself will beat his ass back to the point of truth and justice.
Yes. Beat them back to the point of truth and justice. Knowing this, G-d blessing me with the vision, with the mind and vision to see this truth. I don't have the shakiness anymore, the desperation I used to have as a young preacher. As a young preacher, I was very desperate. I would say, this world is really troubled. And our people existence as G-d intended to be is really threatened. And I was so desperate to see things happen quick, to liberate the mind, to set people on a healthy human course again.
I was so desperate. I was fighting and hollering. And I sound like a wine drinker and violent man and everything at times. Finally, when I saw everything as it is in G-d's scheme of things, I came to peace. I came to rest in peace and I know I don't have to finish this and none of us can finish this. You won't finish it. None of us will finish it. Allah will finish it. His creation will finish it. When we are gone, the creation will beat the hell of the falsehood makers.
Participants: Allah Akbar
Yes, because He has designed the creation itself to bring man home to truth one day. He can't escape. That doesn't mean that we can relax now we had to do all we can in our short time here. We have to do all we can because we are creatures of love and compassion and intelligence. And that demands of us that we do all we can to improve conditions while we are here. I know some of you lazy brothers, white man had made it hard for you to get a job, so hard that you say its impossible. He made you believe it's impossible to get a job now. We still say the white man but a lot of these Asians got a whole lot of this stuff we want. They got money and businesses and everything. We going to have to change this white language pretty soon.
I know a brother say, we aint got to do nothing. Some of them will say "You here the Imam today brother? Were you out there today brother? July 9th brother, I'll never forget this day. Sunday, July the 9th in San Francisco brother. The Imam said you can't do nothing about these conditions brother, the creation going to take care of it."
So, I want it straight. The hell is going to take care of you for that too. If you fail to do all you can while you're here to change conditions for the better. If you can accept the logic in our religion, our religion has a logic, a strategy. Our religion has a powerful strategy and a powerful logic. It is based in the natural reality of man as creation. The women were aided by a number of pronouncements from Allah and the prophet. Prophet Muhammad said, "If any man will educate two daughters, G-d will give him the paradise." Now, tell me, if we work hard to educate our daughters as we educate our sons and put more emphasis on the daughters since the daughters were neglected more so than sons. If we put more emphasis on the daughters to bring the daughters up, what are we doing? We are bringing those daughters up to equality because it is not flesh that determines who is over who. It's knowledge and intelligence. That's what determines who is over who. Look what has happened in the part of the world where we thought would never have women for a woman president. In India a woman president, Huh? Pretty soon you will see it as much of the third world. You will see women with the same opportunity to become leaders of their nation.
How come they can't become leaders of their nation? There's nothing in my religion to tell me a woman can't become a leader of a Muslim nation? No. The leader of the government doesn't have to lead us in prayer. No. I don't know of anything that says that. So, one day I'm sure that there's going to be a Muslim country with woman over it. In fact, just recently Pakistan has a Muslim woman head of a Muslim government. That tells you that there is nothing in our religion that says a woman can't rise to the top in society. She can become the president and leader of the society. Because after all, there isn't one person actually the leader ever. That person is a symbol. That person is just the one we expect to perform the best job for us. But that person is carrying out the will of the many.
That person represents many in its office of rule, representing many. If that person is going to be successful for any nation, Western, Eastern, whatever. One idea or another, if that person is to be successful, that person is to recognize and respect the intelligence of others. And listen to the wise counsel of others and include in his own judgment, information and insight gotten from others. Yes, to be successful.
So, actually, one person is never the rule. The one person is just a symbol of the rule of the people that trust has been put into that one person to carry out the will of the nation. Yes, the person as prophet Muhammad says so beautifully, he said, "In our religion, the ruler is the slave." Is that's something? That's what he said. He said, "In our religion, the ruler is a slave."
The slave is not ugly in our religion slave is Abd. It means the servant. The servant is obligated to serve Allah most of all but the servant that is most useful to the people is the best servant according to our prophet. He said that the best of you is the one who offers the most to the people. Most useful to the people. We don't want to go on and on and on but I hope you'll invite me back to San Francisco again.
We want to talk more on this religion so we understand this religion because too many envy people and insane people. Religious fanatics have the envy and have been jealous of this religion and envied the prophet and been jealous of him in their ignorance and in their fanaticism and they have told so many weird and strange lies about our religion, especially in the West. That we are going to have to work for generations to bring the true picture of our religion to the American people, to give American people a choice whether they want to stay nonreligious or religious. Whether they want to stay church people or mosque people. Whether they want to be Christian or Muslim. They should have a choice. And especially us who came from Africa and were in circumstances where we couldn't have a choice and by coincidence or by circumstances that were beyond our control, we became church people and Christians. Now, the descendants of Africa must have a chance to have a choice of their own and see this religion for themselves and let's have a choice.
So, as I leave you, I want you to know that I'm very proud of Jermaine Jackson's ability to exercise the freedom of choice. He has chosen our religion to be his religion
This I have is from the Chicago Sun-Times, it said that Jermaine Jackson declared his faith before a religious judge in sacred Mecca. He was in Mecca himself there and he declared his faith before a religious judge. Although that's not required, he could have just come to my wife or my son or my brother, any of them. Two members of the community, he just going to walk down the street and run into two brothers and say, "Brothers, Ash hadu anla ilaha illallah, wa ash hadu anna Muhammadar rasulullah. I witness that there is but one
G-d and I witness that Muhammad is His Messenger. And he would have been formally acknowledged as a Muslim just as good as he did before the judge. The only benefit he gets from saying before the judge in Mecca is recognition in the eyes of the people.
"Oh, he made his declaration in Mecca before a religious judge in Mecca, in sacred Mecca." It would be registered the same way in heaven if he made it before any of you there who are sincere. Any of you two witnesses sincere more. If he said it before you, it would have been just the same. We have no priesthood, we have no clergy, we have none of that extra.
I started to say icing on the cake, but then it isn't even that much.
Thank you very much. And may G-d guide us all to the right way. Peace be unto you, As Salaamu Alaykum
