    Imam Warith Deen Mohammed

With Gds name we begin, the praise and the thanks is for Gd, we thank Him for the gift and blessing of the model human person Muhammad (pbuh), the honorable and noble servant and Messenger of Gd and what follows of the salute or that traditional salutation to the last Prophet (pbuh), the seal of the Prophets mentioned in the Bible as it is given in the Quran.

Allahu Akbar that is G-d is Greater we greet you with peace As Salaam Alaikum we thank the Lord Creator of the heavens and the earth for our health, our life and our presence here today. We appreciate your attendance both here and our regular attending audience.

We are meeting here every first Sunday of the month and the purpose of these meetings is to build our life up stronger, better and richer with G-ds help. This is not a meeting to convert someone to religion, we are not meeting I repeat to convert someone to religion. We are meeting to save our life and to build our life up.

My understanding of religions of Scripture makes me know that the people who are accepting responsibility for the life of me on this earth, the nations, the United States of America, Britain, France, Saudi Arabia and many others they all have an interest in serving mankind and some of them influenced by their religions have an interest in saving the life of mankind for the purpose revealed in sacred scripture. What is between a human person in his true nature or her true nature blocking or making it difficult or impossible for the individuals males and females to establish their life as nature would have it established or evolved is being rejected today.

Were living in a much different world, we used to live in a world where most of the members of the publics, the public of the United States of America and other publics of the world, most of the individuals believed in authority if they did not obey it.

They were conscious of some governmental power, some authority over them that they had to respect or had to obey and they knew to disobey, to disrespect they would have to accept their serious consequences. That consciousness is not existing anymore the majority of the people they are not living with an awareness that there is an authority over their lives, not even G-d and this tells us that we have somehow been separated from our true nature.

The true nature of a human being is to relate to the world that all human beings come from, all of us like all other living things we come from the earth, the earth gave birth to us. This is in scripture I am not going to refer to any scripture, but all that Im going to be saying is in scripture.

Almost all human beings have become orphans

Q. 7.24; Earth your dwelling place for a time

24. Earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of
       livelihood for a time."

We read of orphans and we have many orphans, civilized society tries do take care of the orphans, try to find suitable parents for the orphans, but in more serious ways practically all human beings on this planet today have become orphans.

 Q. 7.24; Earth your dwelling place for a time

24. Earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of
       livelihood for a time."

Now the thing that immediately comes to mind perhaps is that the family life is in bad condition, theres no respect for parents and in many homes theres no respect on the part of parents for their responsibility as parents, but I am talking about something a little deeper than that. We are children of the earth G-d says to us in sacred scripture that we were made from the earth. And G-d says that the earth supports us, that is in sacred scripture not just one religion more than one religion.

The earth supports us but were not in a situation any more to get the benefit that G-d intended for all human beings to get. When man began to make progress on this earth he saw himself in a relationship with the earth, wit the land.

And their first history of mans development of the planet earth is the history of man is a hunter or as a farmer seeking food, he was forced to seek food, he had to seek his food. Having this relationship with the earth he developed agriculture, businesses, a whole way of life of community utilizing the produces from the earth not only as food or for food but for clothing; the clothing came from the farm from the agriculture and also buildings, homes to live in whether it was made of tents or grass huts whatever it was he got something from the earth he made himself a simple home, and then more sophisticated homes later; of timber he made beautiful wood homes. But he also worked stones, all of it came from the earth.

Man is to evolve as a social community life

So when you think of how the earth has supported him and provided for us our living and for improvement on our way of living and then you see how your children are coming up with no strong sense of the value of the planet earth to mankind, it is very serious. I am here to tell you today that we can look for solutions here, there and everywhere but until we deal with our natural life, its nature, how it would behave if there was not man and his world between man and his nature, until we deal with that were not going to make very much progress. Most of the nations are nations that had a past and that past was a natural past. They developed upon the earth, they became conscious of a higher purpose for themselves working with the material environment utilizing it to improve their existence and provide better for their generations to come, most of them came that way, but some of us two groups Im looking at blacks or people of African decent here in this country African Americans and other groups that had a past but they are minorities too in America they have become so spiritual that they live only as spiritual beings.

I dont mean that they dont eat food and dont have material things, you can consume more material things than a materialist but if your mind and your spirit is not that of a community man youre still spiritual, you havent evolved as a social community person yet. Man is to evolve as a social community life.

Man got where he is in the road of progress for civilization because he valued family, husband and wife relationship, he valued sharing interest with his wife and his children and he passed his interest on down to his children so the children would make improvement on that interest and they would rest in their graves knowing that they are having a better life because of their children being better prepared than they were. But that interest to have generations come who are better prepared than we are it is gone too, most of us do not have that, we have just thrown up our hands, we have given up.

The material world kills us if we are not conscious as social community people, the material life can kill us, just wanting to eat and have material comfort will destroy your spirituality and you will become empty of your true spiritual nature, empty of your true soul. And to those who are conscious and alive and living with their right nature you are foreigners on this planet, youre like the enemy, beast, creatures of another nature.

All of you are not guilty, the world the way it has been planned and the way it has been growing and the way man arranges priorities if it was dont without media showing it to us everyday on television etc., maybe it wouldnt have the total bad effect that it has on us now. If we were just left alone in our homes with our families and no television, no news, no one telling us what is going on in this big world of man I think we would find interest in one another, we would find interest in life, the wife would find interest in the husband and children would find interest in each other and respect their parents and the family would be drawn together more strongly and man would be in his true nature.

You might say How come he is not talking a bout religion, he is not quoting the scripture? Because you have not seen it correctly and it is time out for the way you have been seeing it. With G-ds help we can take our own interests into our own hands and make a good life for ourselves individually and collectively. Collectively is more important than individually because whatever we plan for ourselves as individuals without respecting the social community will fail. You will not live to have it passed on to your children it will go away with you, it will be lost with you but if you work not just for yourself, but work for the social community then what you invest will live. That is why G-d tells us that we are one family, from one ancestry, He tells us that so we will have a sense of bond, Im bonded to others, Im connected to others and so we would have respect, interest and love for others. If we have respect and an interest in how others fair while we are working to make our self a nice home, a nice environment, a nice condition, we will be making a condition that others will benefit from.
You cannot work with others in your heart and build something that will deny them or exclude them, you dont have to do it consciously, we dont have to consciously plan our community life in Markham, Harvey, or wherever we are, we dont have to consciously plan it to help others, if we just have others in our heart then what we build will be good for everybody and that is what G-d wants.

Orphans need to be reconnected with their true parents

We are orphans and we have to be connected back with out true parent, the true parent is the natural person who feels their existence on this earth is an existence with the material world itself, an existence with the land that produces food, clothing, shelter, an existence with that land. Manhood needs man to know himself as a product of the earth evolved or born out of the earth to work the earth and use it for himself and for the benefit of others, your manhood needs that. If you will accept that is your purpose, that is why youre existing you will become a better person for yourself, a better person for others, especially your family and you will become productive.

There is no such thing as one race being inferior to another, one race can produce and another one cannot, one race is protecting its race and another race is not protecting its race, so whether you are Spanish, African American or whatever your are if your race is doing bad, poorly, youre dependent on other nationalities, or other races, other communities, other ethnic groups for everything, it is not because you are inferior it is because you have been made more an orphan than they have.

So you Christians in the audience if youre serious about staying Christians tell your preacher, tell your teachers in religion to help you find yourself because if youre not managing life and having success at that and you are not contributing anything to your neighborhood, to your environment, youre just living on others who are doing that you are lost from yourself.

There is a saying that says, Whoever has known himself has known his G-d, his Lord. Think about that, man did not come to know the cause for his existence the great Creator called by different names, he did not come to know that by seeking to know that. He came to know that by seeking to know what is he or what is she, what is the family to do with their life on this planet earth on in this material environment.
And the more he worked to know how he can produce and prosper the bigger his mind got, he took on bigger concerns, bigger interests, he had to be responsible for bigger concerns and bigger interest and that expanded his mind and made him want to know, How the sky is kept in order like that, how those bodies, what are they, are they only light or is there something else up there?

So the working to make his family life better, brought so many things of interest into his hands that the interest became so big it just opened up his mind to the whole universe and then he began to search creation. And as he began to search creation he became a thinker and the thinker became a Seer and the Seer became a Prophet and the world became much bigger and much greater. But now were living at the end of time, some people think that the end of time is going to be when the earth is blown up. Why should the earth be blown up it hasnt done any wrong.

We speak of this continent we live on now the Northern part of it the United States of America as the new world dont we? This is the new world order and it is all over but we speak of this part that were on as the new world, South America, America and parts of these continents that were discovered they are called the new world and we see a new kind of way of living.

Last day means the way that you perceive the earth is going to be destroyed

It is not like it was when they were in Europe this is the American way of living here, so that old world is gone so for the American citizens that old world is gone and we are in a new world. The earth stays as it is but how we live on it changes according to our own spirit and interest, G-d is not telling you the earth itself is going to be destroyed, it means the way you perceive the earth is going to be destroyed. The earth in your mind is going to be destroyed and the environment that you made is going to have to change and for some of you on this planet earth your whole environment is going to have to be erased, total destruction and it is going
to have to be made all over again to respect the life that mother earth gives birth to.

Mother earth never gave birth to somebody freakish like most of these people were looking at on television, on the streets etc., mother earth births natural men and women, industrial minded people, workers, producers loving to come home after the days work and socialize, love one another enjoy each others company, go to sleep and wake up feeling they are safe and secure in a home of human beings. And now right in your own family you dont know whether youre going to wake up with a human being or a damn alien who may come at you with a hatchet or something or with a knife, or a gun. Were lost we all have become orphans.

Orphans heart has to turn to the father, the original nature

Malachi 4:6; Children hearts turned to the father

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Where is our first father? In my conclusion it is written, Unless the childrens hearts be turned to the father you are thinking that is G-d, no it means the original nature, your first father who G-d awakened to do His work on this earth in this earth and produce for generations to come. Unless the childrens heart be turned to the father, the fathers heart be turned to the children G-d says He will smite the earth with a curse.

I want you to know it is smitten, were living under a curse and we can save ourselves if we will live again and were to help you if you need help to show you how to have life again, thank you peace be unto you.

 Question and answer period

We are ready for the first question or the first comment dont feel you have to have some questions, if you have a concern you want to express or a question or a statement youre welcome, but please stay with them the subject for today because we can go around the world and we do not want to do that.

 Q. 96.4; Allah taught man the use of the pen

He Who taught (the use of) the Pen

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum I have a statement and a question the first statement that I would like to make Imam Mohammed I really want to thank you for that salutation that you have on your message of concern a statement of peace when you open up with respect to mans Creator, I think it takes away all the arguments of what do we call Him, what should we called Him and you get right to point is coming ground. And I really appreciate it, in fact I think it is genius saying, I want to thank you for that.

My question is, is the first surah revealed to Prophet Muhammad pubh the statement where it says G-d taught man the use of the pen that which he knew not that ayat. I want to get your thoughts on that because I am wondering if it means that to the written words, revelation or G-d has given man this gift to record and progress recorded history.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Thank Allah swt He is with us. Yes, when G-d says that He created man from a small life germ or a clot of blood
adhering, holding onto itself and that He taught man what he did not know before and that He had been most generous giving more than man could use.

Q. 37.96; Allah created man and his handiworks

"But Allah has created you and your handiwork!"

When G-d is saying this He is not unaware that mad had to struggle with his mind and his nature and experience things and grow to study what he was involved in or with and eventually became educated and became an author of scrolls or books and you know publications etc., G-d is not unaware of mans history you know that, but man is unaware of G-d and thats why G-d puts is that way. G-d created the man he did not create himself, I was speaking to someone here recently and I did not know whether he was a believer in G-d or not so I said, There is a Cause and an effect, but there is a Cause that produced you and for every effect there is a cause before that effect. So whatever caused the world to be is responsible for us and the world and not only for us having access to the world or can use these things from the world but also responsible for us being able to use them as we use them. Because the same One Who did all that is responsible for creating the human brain.

We did not create the human brain, we did not create the five senses, the human intelligence etc. and we did not create the things that human intelligence has to relate to an order to have life and have growth and progress, we did not do that. There is a first Cause.

Man is an instrument in the control of the Creator

Man should never think that he is the author of his works, the author of his works is his Creator, the pen that writes, will a man put the pen up in a museum and say, This pen wrote 10,000 books? No it will say the man wrote 10,000 books because the pen was in the hand of a man, the man was doing the writing, so we nothing but pens in the hand of our Creator, that is all we are, we are nothing but tools and instruments in the hand or in the control of our Creator, by hand we mean the controls. We are instruments in the control of our Creator we might not know that, but that is the fact and everything that He made you utilize it, benefit from it, you enjoy it, you see how it works for you, there was a Cause that created all of that. You did not plan that it is waiting on you.

   Everybody has experienced something unknown

 Q. 7.172; The soul testifies Allah is Lord

When thy Lord drew forth from the children of Adam from their loins their descendants and made them testify concerning themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord (who cherishes and sustains you)?" They said: "Yea! we do testify!" (This) lest ye should say on the Day of Judgment: "of this we were never mindful."

 Q. 45.34; They forget G-d and were forgotten

It will also be said: "This Day We will forget you as ye forgot the meeting of this Day of yours! And your abode is the Fire and no helpers have ye!

And dont tell me you do that have faith in the unknown,
theres not a man or a woman alive that has not experienced something that they could not explain thoroughly, it is still unknown to you, you do not know it yet completely, so believe in G-d and give G-d credit. That is apart that problem of being an orphan, you do not know your true nature, you do not understand your true beginning in this earth, so you do not appreciate the One Who designed it, to forget Him, and you forget Him so much so He just gives up on You.

Scripture says They prefer death, confusion and destruction more than they prefer what I created them for. So until they get whipped by their own doings I wont be giving them any special help anymore
And I believe that G-d has cut us loose the African American people He has cut us loose because we have become so forgetful, we dont remember Him. Our parents who were waiting for freedom so they could be better and more productive human beings, so they could present themselves in a more beautiful life firstly to their Maker and then to the world of mankind, they had a strong belief that there was a G-d that did not like the way they were being mistreated and that slavery would be over one day if having their time in a time of the coming of their children.

They had a strong relationship with the first Cause, the Lord Creator, but we got to partying and celebrating freedom and forgot all of that and now we are cursed, but you can be saved and we know how.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum I hope that the audience will be patient with me I have not come before to address you Imam W D Mohammed and I really hope that they will be patient with because this has really been troubling my soul. I dont know what to do about it, I made efforts to write a book. No one has written a book definitively on the human level concerning our community as Allah swt would have it and I am grateful. I have been around since 1957, you an I have known each other for years and I really have a tremendous memory for the transition traveling with Minister Farakhan 21 years, Muhammad Ali all of the settings that G-d has directed me and I have made attempts to write a book.

Im going to say this publicly but Im not going to expose the entire words, I have gone to our Lord Creator and made a covenant ____ pleading for help. I dont have funds, I used to be a thousand-aire and now all I have is air and Im grateful for that. Im getting ready to close a contract and the people have me over a barrel because I do not have an attorney. I have been trying to meet with you and I believe that this book will do extremely well. Everywhere that I have gone and you know Im a communicator I never stopped and people have said, You need to write a book I made three attempts, now I cant believe Im in Chicago and I talked to the people at the third world press the other day.

Mr. Benny Johnson knows the family extremely well as I do and I just dont now what to do because Im fed up with other people writing books about us and we have not one book that really goes back from a nonofficial.
And Allah swt has blessed me to be glib, garrulus, sequacious the whole nine yards and I dont know what to do with it I need help and I believe this book will generate a sufficient amount of income. And it doesnt take a lot, but I need support you could help me write, tell me to sit down and talk into a tape recorder, I dont have that discipline, I tried it and it doesnt work for me. To write a book my mind is too scattered Ive tried I just dont have that mentality. I been interviewed on television and radio and I dont know what to do I need help because I dont want to see other people write and make money and we dont get anything. And you know Im a generous man that is why I dont have nothing now, I didnt understand what Mr. Fard was saying..

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I know him very well I can say thats my friend I want to tell you something, I dont have any of your money in my pocket... somehow it didnt reach me.

Question:
I want to mention to you the possibility of some kind of help, I dont mind going to .....

 Q. 7.160; Moses organized twelve captains of his people

We divided them into twelve tribes or nations. We directed Moses by inspiration when his (thirsty) people asked him for water: "Strike the rock with thy staff": out of it there gushed forth twelve springs: each group knew its own place for water.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Let me tell you what will help us right here in this situation, help you and us, Moses was the chosen leader of a people who were oppressed and they couldnt live under their oppressors. Moses was chosen to take them to independence, freedom so that they would be under their own authority and not under another authority. Moses was guided with the help of the wise man and also guided by G-d as we know. He was guided to see how to make the new society work, Moses couldnt do everything, he had certain skills he was a builder in the house of Pharaoh or in the land of the Pharaohs but he didnt know many things and he didnt have many skills so he was guided with the help of another wise man in his day, at that time to give the responsibility to others who had the knowledge and skills. And he said You metal workers you organize and you scribe so he began to organize all the knowledge and skills and give assignment to those who had the knowledge and skills.

....you need help because your thoughts are too busy going everywhere I might be able to help you with that problem.

Question:
Brother Imam I wanted perhaps one of your attorneys or
someone who would work pro bono or maybe some of the secretaries or writers. I need writers.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
My suggestion is what I just gave you, but I will carry it a bit further, we need to find out who in this area are interested in doing exactly what youre interested in doing and you need to get together.

Question:
May I give is my telephone number so they might call me if they are interested, because when we leave out of here it is hard to catch up with anyone. My number is 708) 333-8823 and the contract that you sign will be even more liberal than what you would ordinarily get for transcribing, writing, the whole thing, thank you very much I appreciate your patience Salaam Alaikum.

Reason, concern two important parts of human life

Noah flood without reason concern flood life out

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum I want to say that Im happy to be one of your followers, I thank Allah swt for guiding me to you, I was asked a question and I do not know whether I gave a correct answer or not so Im going to ask you the question and perhaps you can gives me the best answer so I can relate to answer back to the person who asked me. The question was: How was the world repopulated after the flood?

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
That is the story in the Bible but it also is in the Quran, the sacred Book of the Muslims, the human being is a creation of reason and a creature of concerns, these other two important parts of human life.

We can think, reason and question things, examine things, analyze things, look for how to improve things by this examination of things, but we also are creatures of concern. Sometimes we give our life to concerns so much and not enough to reason that concerns flood the life out and the whole society begins to be supported by concerns and not by reason or good sense, that was Noahs flood, we have one going on now.

I understand we are about to go off of the air I appreciate this opportunity that was opened up to us by the local people, I understand Philadelphia and maybe a couple of other cities accepted responsibility to have the broadcast come to you, we thank G-d for you and thank G-d for your support and we wish you a beautiful and good day and we hope that you will be with us again the first Sunday of next month may G-d be with you peace As Salaam Alaikum.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum it was a three way question, statement, first I want to say that there is a great concern that this community is not responding to the priority of education and I observed that youre teaching the children every Sunday I sense the need that youre giving the message to us youre doing it here in Chicago that the learned people and people concerned about this community surviving must at least begin to establish a conscious effort of education for this community. You addressed it at the convention, thats the first thing.

The second thing is when you were talking about the earth it brought the fascination of the fact of our sajdah how we make our prostration we go to the ground and we say glory to the Lord the Most High, could you explain and share with us in the sajdah position what benefits come from that beautiful prostration, because you said were coming out of the earth as a part of our environment.

So those are the two things I want you to share with us; one is to school, the education process, it seems Muslims dont have a priority. I know in the environment where I live, I believe in others where it is foremost that we take the initiative at education. And it is very important that we take that stand as Muslims and followers of Muhammad the Prophet pbuh and to be followers of your leadership because we come here every week, every month for years with and for you to share this with us and for us to sit on it and go back and say Oh the Imam taught so wonderful and that is as far as the goes, then that is violating our creed as Muslims and that is violating with the Prophet pbuh said in his last sermon. I hope that you would just elaborate on those two points. It was another one but we will just wait later for that one brother Imam.

  Q. 2.34; Angels bowed to manit with

And behold We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam"; and they bowed down not so Iblis he refused and was haughty he was of those who reject Faith.
With

Psalm 8:59; Man a little lower than the angels

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. [6] Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: [7] All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; [8] The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. [9] O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

  Q. 19.59; Forgetting prayers leads to destruction

But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts: soon then will they face Destruction.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I thought it was one, but it is two I thought it was all about education, the ritual of bowing down on the earth in sajdah is in Scripture. We are acting out what is in Scripture and both Scripture, both Books (Bible and Quran) says that man was something not worth being mentioned, he was just roaming the earth like other animals. He had not been enlightened, he was living as a savage or living selfishly and saw himself as important. Living in his self importance and was not contributing much of anything to the human family but trouble. G-d inspired some among them who were worthy who had not given themselves to self-destruction or to destruction of others, they were peaceful souls, loving souls and G-d gave them guidance, enlightenment and they came into great productive societies. And the fact that it happened that way needs no more support for us to believe it than what we see in this present world that we live and right now. The great nations that are leading the world noware nations to believe that G-d revealed to man accepted the message that G-d revealed to man.

There is no nation contributing much to this earth, to our future except those who believe in Scripture and believe that G-d communicated to man life that he is to live on this planet earth. When they forget prayer is G-d says to us, When they leave off prayer they lose their society their world comes to an end. Never did a people come to their end before first leaving off prayers, forgetting prayers.

Prayer Qiyyam standing means community establishment

So when we pray we are acting out what Scripture says that G-d made us from the earth and gave us intelligence and guidance to satisfy our hungry minds. And we stood up, see standing position in prayer that means establishment, not establishment for individuals, establishment for the community. Standing position in prayer means that you are
beginning as an established people establishing community life.

Bow Ruku we had only the hope of babies and animals

Then you acknowledge G-d, remember Him, and acknowledge Him as He has guided as to remember and acknowledge Him. Then you put your hand on your knees saying to G-d, G-d we were once crawling around on our hands and knees babies, like all babies do, but though we were walking standing on our physical feet walking with these physical feet in our life, in our minds, in our intelligence and in our expectations there was no more than the hope of babies just have food, clothing and shelter, play, sex and go to bed, wake up and repeat it the next day.

So we are saying to G-d, You found us just like those animals that walk on fours and You lifted us up from our knees. So you praise Him and you raise up from your knees you say, Surely G-d hears whoever praises Him.

And than standing again you say G-d is greater you all the way down to the floor and you do what he is asking, addressing his questions to, you put your forehead, your nose, your palms, your feet and knees, your toes in front of your feet underground, eight spots touch. You touch the ground in eight places and touching the ground with eight places you come back up and you say, G-d is greater.

Sajdah acknowledges education is from the universe

And then you repent because you have gotten enlightened, you have returned to Mother Earth and accepted the order for your life that G-d created and you say, G-d forgive me, have mercy on me, now I know my mistake I see the light now. Then you get asked for forgiveness but when you dont see your sins how can you ask for forgiveness, right? And you return a second time, and put your head down touching all of those points again, eight of them, eight and eight is sixteen, Sweet sixteen, now youre free, you repented your wrongs after being enlightened and you returned to the pattern that G-d created for you acknowledging mother earth and you mother at birth

  The nose stands for spirit

Now if that does not speak to education what does? It is acknowledging that this world, the earth that G-d made is what gave me what I have in my mind. I submit that my mind that the reality that G-d created. The nose stands for spirit. This creation inspired me, man is inspired by the marvelous creation of G-d, dont look for any spook, it didnt happen like that.

Question:
As Salaam Aliakum Imam I thank Allah swt for having you in my life today, I have a question I wanted to ask for many years. I believe you already just answered but anyway the question I teach prayer at our place of worship. It is a question that has been on my mind for a long time, knowing how busy your life is I wonder how to establish it for myself and also wondered how to express it. How do we begin to establish the Arabic term Khashi humility, prayer noting that there are many things that enter our minds?

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Perhaps it is discipline and most of us have concerns that have the power to enter our minds even though we are in prayer in the presence of our Lord. The way to develop the discipline so that nothing comes in is to keep your focus on what youre reciting, do not let your mind come off of what you are reciting, that is very difficult. I do you think that theres any Imam who has not had it happened to him where his mind for a second or a split second left what he was doing and he had to come back to it.

And just in that little amount of time you can forget the next step in the discipline, that is why the audience, the congregation is obligated to bring our attention to it. if the Imam forget something, the congregation is obligated to bring his attention to it. I know of nothing that can help you or improve your concentration than just concentrating on every word in every step of the salat, dont just practice, that is the way.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum you gave me permission to make a comment so I do have questions but Im not going to ask a question what Im going to say is I am a social worker and Im out of the New York is a group of us who came together with a dream under your inspiration and we have a social human service program in New York. We work with families and children. I just wanted to say to you that I appreciate to thank Allah swt for this group effort because the energy that is generating from this concern in us coming together simply gives us an inspiration to move forward.

And I do believe in understanding it right, So shall it be in the end as it was in the beginning it is already beginning Imam Mohammed because I know I feel like you and I know there are many people who feel like you and that is the energy. So we wont lose, we are already winning, we are going to stay with you and were going to win.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
We are proud that members in our association have done that you going to see more support for that.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum first I just want to say brother Imam it is an honor for me to be a student and follower of Imam WD Mohammed. My question in the Quran Allah swt says approach not the orphans property except to improve it and I see you as the one foremost in improving the orphans situation and restoring him to his entirety. I see you as a teacher connecting us back to what we should be connected to. Now in connection with that would you please describe what it is to be an excellent student and follower of Imam W Deen Mohammed now and in the future?

Forty Hadith p.64#17; Excellence in everything

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
To devote yourself always to the work that G-d assigned to man and that is to take care of family and utilize the material environment that He created and to share not only what you produce but to share also your knowledge with others who you can trust with your knowledge also. Always try to be your best in spirit, your best in mind, your best in your physical works or acts. Muhammad the Prophet pbuh he said, The believer whenever he endeavors to do a thing he tries to perfect it. he tries to do his very best no matter how small it is.

And he gave an illustration he said, If you are the one who is given the charge for sabiha, for slaughtering the animal the way Muslims slaughter, he said sharpen your knives and try to do it the best. So he was actually encouraging the butchers to be real skillful, to do their best when they are butchering and it goes for anything. If you wash the bath tub out do your best.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum I thank Allah swt for you brother Imam I have a lot of questions I want to deal with the point you made about until the children turn to the father and the father turns to the children we will not have peace. I want to stay with the subject matter when you have a role in this the children having resentment and pain because the father has not turned to them and you have fathers who have abandoned the children, they have excuses by saying the children are so raudy and acting ignorant I have no time to deal with that and he goes off some place else. What positive role can you play, mother grandmother or any concerned family member in this relationship?

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I have had not exactly that same question but slightly different but the realty is the same and I have learned from others who had the experience suffering of their loved ones. Our loved ones dont know that sometimes we suffer their life more than they do. They are in it and they are facing that but because we love them a little bit more humanly than they love themselves we suffer more than even they suffer. And sister sometimes you just cant do anything for those closest to you, your own child, your own mate.

Sometimes it is your own mother or your own father, you cant do anything for them, sometimes the people who get the best results are those who they do not even know, strangers can help them more than we can. Dont feel bad Allah swt will give you paradise in spite of all the trouble that may surround you, G-d can put you in the Paradise, you just go and find another child who will accept that love.

Abraham appreciate the rational mind and faith in
G-d

 Q. 2.125; Stand in Abrahams place

Remember We made the house a place of assembly for men and a place of safety; and take ye the station of Abraham as a place of prayer; and We covenanted with Abraham and Isma`il that they should sanctify My House for those who compass it round or use it as a retreat or bow or prostrate themselves (therein in prayer).

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum in Quran Allah swt says, Take either your the can you expound on the implicit meaning of those ayats?

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
The place of Abraham the upright in his nature, the faithful, our father after Adam he is our second father Abraham is a figure, he is a type he represents what is in us like all of the Prophets. Muhammad pbuh was shown in the night travel, ascension he was shown seven levels or seven heavens and Abraham our first father was on the first level al the way up to Abraham the last level, just like the Bible says Abraham was in the highest heaven. He was in the highest, the seventh heaven and Allah swt says of those levels and in you are a like number, it means seven also.

So whatever those Prophet, those great figures represented it is also in every human being so what is it in father Abraham that makes us so secure if we will take his stand? It is his appreciation for the rational mind and his great faith in G-d. So he had the two things that seems to be not able to come together in the world, that is perfect faith in G-d and appreciation for your logic, for your rational reasoning, for your mind he had that and that is why he is our father.

So when we stand in his place, when we accept his abode were in the most secure place and we will have peace, prosperity and affluence.

Adam is our father G-d is our Creator

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum what will help the Muslims

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Connecting ourselves back to our father Adam not G-d, Adam is our father G-d is our Creator and earning His acceptance of us so that were united again in that great relationship with our original nature and our own selves, our life, what will help the Muslims? Follow and do what the Prophet pbuh did and look at Imam WD Mohammed for an example.

Q. 33.6; Muhammad closer to believers than own selves

The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own selves and his wives are their mothers. Blood-relations among each other have closer personal ties in the Decree of Allah than (the Brotherhood of) Believers and Muhajirs: nevertheless do ye what is just to your closest friends: such is the writing in the Decree (of Allah).

Bukhari 1.13; Believe not until love Prophet more

Abu Huraira reported "Allah's Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is, none of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father and his children."

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum brother Imam my question in the hadith where the author of the hadith said that we should love the Prophet pubh more than we love our self, our brethern, our family members. But it doesnt mention mother specifically. I was just wondering why it didnt mention mothers.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Thank G-d Im still alive. Our own family members and the whole of mankind because mother wasnt that important back there in those days. Man cared more about his father and brother because they worked together and made money and fought together and got over on people, so he needed the men. His attachment was to his father and his brothers, thats what the mother wasnt mentioned and even the whole of mankind, why?

Because if you have what Muhammad pbuh is, he is the complete man even Abraham didnt live to see the promised land. Muhammad pbuh was the man who brought his community to the promised land while he was living so he is the complete man and if you dont love that man who lived not selfishly but lived for the whole of humanity then you dont have real love, your love is not complete. And if you have a choice between him and your baby, your relative, your family, you have to choose him and sacrifice family. If you have a choice between the whole of mankind, all the people on earth and him you have to choose him and cut the whole world a loose, why? Because if you stay with him you will bring the whole world back.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum I like to thank you brother Imam I been a follower since 1962 I appreciate your father and your mother too sister Clara Muhammad. My question is to you very simple its about the kufi and I was told that it was a prayer cap.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
He was a necessary light to make our life what it is today. I got on a prayer cap right now, but you dont see it do you? All this up here and it is the best one I have. There were no kufis in the time of Muhammad the Prophet pbuh, it got popular long after he was gone from the earth, but it is important because we associate it with prayer and prayer is very important. So it has value because of its connection with our prayers, the dress we associate with our prayers, so it is very important we should respect it just like sometimes I come in the house and I see the prayer cap or the kufi on the floor right away it hurts me I go pick it up off of the floor. It has a lot of value because we use it in association with making our prayers

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum brother Imam first I would like to say it is a pleasure being a student of yours, a student of your father, it is a blessing have your inspired works a blessing to be here and listen to you and take in what you give us. A blessing to go back to my family share it, Im a better person by using the knowledge and in the way of working. And I would also like to say I sincerely love you brother. Have a question and a statement, my question first is: I travel with the national dawah brother Norman Muhammad, as we travel one of the questions that plagues the mind and hearts of some of the sisters in the community is what can they do to be better of service and how can they come from under the oppression, to be subdued by certain factors in certain communities? Of course I also get my advise the best I can but I would like for you to expound on that.

And the second is a statement Im also from Kalamazoo, Mich and Imams Hasans team has come up with what you call a dollar drive. I just wanted to say this here and now because we dont really get to say it around many people but what it is, each week a member from the community comes and brings one dollar, thats coffee, anything that you can forgo and we collect it for that week and we send it to the Mosque Cares, were not bragging but what Im doing is Im promoting the idea. A dollar a week is not hurting anybody brother Norman says the Mosque Cares.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Thank you and I love you my brother we thank Allah swt because this is not our doing, none of us could have gotten the Hon. Elijah Muhammad to get on the path he got on. And none of us could have shown his son how to take that path and follow it to connect it with the bigger path of the sabeillah the path of G-d for Muslim, nobody could have shown me how to do that. Allah swt is with you He is with all of the believers and Allah swt is making these things happen.

He is a very valuable brother to the whole community, very hard working faithful servant, we thank Allah swt for him and for you. We appreciate you very much our brother and I will personally pray to Allah swt to increase you in all of your good works, your good thinking for the enrichment of your own life and enrichment of our community.

And for those sisters all I can say about the sisters I failed with the sisters there isnt much I can do to teach them. I had a sister call me up said, There is a book coming out by Muhammad Ali it cost three thousand dollars I want you to get me that book, you hear?

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum brother Imam it is also a pleasure being here and I also want to thank you for all your help over the years and Im getting to the realization that Im also been born to support and work with you as much as I can in my area where I am to the best that I can do.

The reason I came forth is to benefit everybody on the subject that you talked about you mentioned family quite a bit and I remember something that you said was very important. I know most of us here we have children and we love them and you also talked about you being in heaven and we need to talk about we also get into heaven. And also you mentioned that by your obedience to Allah swt what He was able to bring to your children and the work that they do in supporting you and the other things that they do.

If we would talk about that with us what we can do in our lives so that Allah swt can also bless our children thats a lot riding on what we do now so that they can continue to do the work, not that they are ostentatious, but humbly support the work. We want to bring that in our children and I think thats important and I think that might be helpful in answering.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
We thank you very much for that I wont comment on what you said I think it is best to leave it just as you put it and we appreciate what you have said, thank you.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum first of all I would like to say brother Imam that you look very good, very healthy we thank G-d for that. I talk to a lot of brothers we have had this discussion and it comes up that this community behind your leadership is behind. Now personally I work with the public and your perception that G-d has blessed you with personally when I talk to other people about I know at least in that area were not behind, were very far ahead. And I hear a lot of people say this community is behind in this, in that and I think sometimes it deadens peoples spirit.

That this community is behind or not from your point.

Muslims much further if men believe and take it seriously

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I appreciate your statement and I appreciate your question too, our community could be much farther ahead in the road, the progress for the whole community if we had more people believing especially men in what were doing and taking it seriously and making it their life. Just like someone earlier said we come here every 4th Sunday or every Jumah or every meeting and go away we say Yes praise be to Allah swt we had a good time but go back to the same life, dont change the way youre living, dont take on more responsibility. I have to say yes the community is far behind what I expect it to be doing and where I expect it to be, were far behind. But in terms of others in the society, the public we are far advanced in every way because there are not many people working together for a purpose for a cause that is doing as well as we are doing.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum I have a question regarding the structure of a Masjid that will possibly help us advance ourselves. That is the question regarding the rotation or the term for an Imam. Not so much rotation but term limit and the reason Im asking that question is because I think our condition of coming out of Christianity and the way that the preachers would preach his congregation they were always up here when they would teach the subjects down there. I was told that many of them would come to peoples houses before the children Im thinking that conditioning in us sometimes affect our local. And sometimes ours attachment over a Masjid or center sometimes to that position becomes so great that I believe subconsciously sometimes we begin to act in that manner towards the believers in general. So my question is there some kind of structure built into the bylaws that would rotate them out of there over _____

Imam vote of confidence taken after 4 years

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Yes it has something to do with it Im sure. I share your concern but it would be unIslamic to put in the bylaws or put into the legal language of the organization that the Imam is to serve only for a given period of time.

You can say that but you have to add to that, after serving for one year or two years three or four years, whatever the time period is I dont think it should be more than four that a vote of confidence in him should be taken. And any leader who is not willing to have his members, not only those who he is seeing every Jumah, but those he drove away come back and participate in a vote of confidence it is something wrong. I dont want to be a leader of the people who just do what I say no matter what I say.

Question:
When you say a vote of confidence sometimes our ratification there is nobody there so if you have one person.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
That is why I said he has to be willing to have those come back who he drove away or who lost faith in him, didnt see enough happening so they stopped coming.

Question:
A lot of times they dont find their way back home because of the tendency just to.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I understand, at least make a try like if I wanted to divorce my wife and I said I cant find her, I got to put it in one of the papers. Put it in one of the papers If youre going to have a vote you reach somebody.

Question:
I been a follower of yours ever since I was a kid, a child

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Youre a handsome young man right now, how old were you when you first knew of me?

Question:
Probably eight years old Im happy to see you.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
About eight years old Im happy to see you.

Question:
I would say because of your teachings I learned a lot of life, Im a designer, a business man not just an ordinary business man like fortune 500, the black political structure they try to involve me in a lot of stuff, try to stop me from doing my designer business, like somebody telling me to go to the back of the bus and I dont know how to go to the back of the bus. Right now theyre trying to stop me from getting ___ I can go to work for this person and do this stuff thats not me. I was born for who I am not for. Im a financial wizard, but if somebody is going to tell me to go to the back of the bus and give me a lot of problems and if you could help me get them out of my way Ill help you make some jobs.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I think I understand what youre saying, I only go to the back of the bus if I have a plan to own the bus. Im not going back that if I dont have a plan to own it.

Question:
Thats why Im a owner, Im not like a person - - I work for myself I dont want somebody telling me they can take half of your business. If I do something I do it, that the problem Im having right now. Because of your teaching I cant do that. Im going to tell them where to go. Im the same person G-d created I went to the pyramids and saw that Jesus was black, Moses was black and somebody was trying to take my base, this is not small people these are big people.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I understand and thats my spirit too. Ive experienced that too I been there too and I saw the remains of a very ancient civilization and their works still baffle modern science. I hope the descendants of Africa will come into a new life, a new mind.

Question:
You can look in some peoples and see their mind, Im serious its like their mind. All yo do is change your mind and youre there. Like slavery is a system thinking that you cant do anything is a system, thinking you can do something is another system. Too many of our people have been taught the wrong system, they need to be taught the right system to open their mind they dont understand about corporate business, financing but if you have this thinking it will change your mind. I have that type of thinking I like to share with the people here because.

You say you got two million people all of you are doctors, teachers, lawyers if you pool your resources you make a lot of business and it just needs somebody who knows, I know how to do that if you help me. Its no reason for anybody here to want for money, I made money some people dont like black people to have money or make money, but it is no reason for anybody to want money. Just think and youre there I offer my service to do that. My name is Theodore.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
You are sharing and Im sure youre inspiring somebody right now, thats exactly what we want to see happen, most of them are black who dont want to see blacks with money.

Comment:
As Salaam Alaikum brother Imam Warith Deen Mohammed it is a pleasure and a honor to be here in your presence I want you to know that you saved my life and that was due to the fact that I had the heart and I studied your teachings very severely, very deeply. And I know for a fact that your teachings are 100%, 1000% correct, Im not saying this as someone who has some type of authority or something, but Im just saying that the nature that I feel when I read your material it reaches and I just thank Allah swt for you.

And also I know if you get more exposure it seems to me that the Imams of various Mosques even in their khutbahs would give more of you and your teachings, your guidance Im sure that we would get the brothers and sisters much more quicker. So I thank Allah swt for you brother Imam.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Thank you brother very much.

Our identity is Muslim religiously and publicly human

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum it is a pleasure, it is a honor to be here, I come here every time you speak because I know that youre the only answer for ourselves coming back to ourselves. We have been lost in this country and we are trying to feel or trying to find ourselves back to the right path, you have helped me as well as many of the people here to come back to ourselves, our natural selves. And I respect you and may Allah swt bless you and keep rewarding you, keep helping you, keep encouraging you and keep your strength up and keep moving us in the right direction.

My question is weve been called colored people, Negroes, blacks, Afro-Americans, we been called so many stigmas in this country, this world some of us still call ourselves by different names, what do you think we should be calling ourselves right now in this day and time? What should we be calling ourselves, African American Muslims or Muslims, what should we be calling ourselves so we can be dignified together in harmony with ourselves?

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
Praise be to Allah swt, if the situation is a religious environment where the audience is religious your identity you should be most conscious of is your identity as a Muslim. If youre in the world situation your identity should be in your heart Muslim, but among the people of the streets, human, that is the best identity.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum Imam my name is Osman Im African Im from Mali I been here about 14 months en sha Allah I will try to do my best to ask a question. The question that I have for you mentioned in some hadith of Prophet Muhammad pbuh if one is to die without having a leader is like you die in the state of ignorance jahiliyyah. So now Im African but it doesnt make a difference I agree I need a teacher, a leader.

So the point I want to say here sometimes we have a problem and we want to get in touch with our leader and we knock the door of our leader but they wont open the door for us. During the Rasuls pbuh time he allowed everybody to see him even if you look at the hadith you will say sometimes, The dumb people who do not even have a mind and the Rasululah would allow those people to come to him and tell him what they need. But today we have a personal problem and we need to see or be in touch with our leader to tell them our problem but when we knock on the door sometimes a hundred times they will not open the door, so what do you think about that?

Why I ask this question is because it is about 5 or 6 months ago in taking to the street, I think you understand I dont speak English very well, the Imam was over here I think Imam Siraj Wahaj I said ok I want to talk to the Imam, if you could give me a chance I have something to tell him and I went to 15 different persons and I still dont get a chance to talk to the Imam. And I was standing and the lady came and she said I want to interview the Imam and they allowed her to talk to the Imam, because she was not Muslim. No problem but I want to talk to you and let you know what can we do about that because they think that day in my mind was here, it was many sisters over here and many brothers I know we are Muslim and many of our sisters have taken shahada, they want to marry, so we have to marry them because if we dont marry them the kufar are not going to marry them and they need support.

So that day I said I want to talk to the Imam because his is _____ larger than mind and I want him to ask the sister who wants to get married and brother who wants to get married and try to put them in contact , but I didnt get a chance to talk to the Imam.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
That is a problem for us and we do have others among us who recognize that there is a problem and they are doing some things. There is more being done now than in the years gone past to have some halal situation for singles to get together, become acquainted with each other and who are interested in getting married.

But getting back to your other thing I remember once being outside of America really and I wanted to get to the speaker, the big sheik to greet him and I was going to ask him something also and for some reason I wasnt able to. But I got close enough to him I tried to work myself and there were a lot of people were trying to get to him. I finally worked up so I got pretty close to him and I saw the way he treated the questions in the presence of another person and I just eased right on back out. Sometimes you might be in for a punishment when you get too close, it may be a blessing if you didnt get to talk.

Question:
Do you think that is why?

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
No, we Imams should love believers, Imams should love the human family, he should love the believing Muslims and he should be hurt if he cant respond to a believing Muslim who wants to greet him or ask him a question, it should hurt his heart.

Question:
So can we be in touch with you any time if we want without a problem?

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
You see how much time I gave you already? You cant see me until next year.

Question:
I have something special from myself I want to say that maybe I might meet to tell you something.

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I would love to meet with you any time you like but you have to call my office the phone number is in the journal but if you could remember it, it is pretty easy number it is a
708) 798-6750 and ask for my daughter Laila.

Question:
As Salaam Alaikum brother Imam the reason I came up is because the brother we invited him here Ahmed Bilal the poet introduced me to him in this community. He is an Imam who has a Masjid on 73 and Bennett. He is a hafeeth and he is 24 years old and he made us aware that he wanted to make the connection, he has a very loving and peaceful community. We did a lot of Ramadan with them. His Masjid is Masjid Al Farooq. Also Muhammad says he sent you the greeting he said he would have liked to have been here, he said he will get in touch with you. Also the president of MCC he said that he was going to try to make the meeting before you leave. And brother Ifran Khan president of the council of Islamic organizations sends you their greeting and they said also at whatever point you need them they said they are ready

Imam W. D. Mohammed:
I have heard about it en sha Allah we will see each other soon. Thank you it is wonderful to hear from them and also give them my Salaams.

We thank you and this brings to conclusion our first Sunday meeting here today and I understand there are dinners being served, I think the dinners are 2 or 3 dollars and the hotel here prepares nice dinners. The people who are responsible for our rental of this space and service that we receive here while were here they know of Muslims, they have been around Muslims, they are from the Fiji Island. I been there one time, my old friend Muhammad Abdullah took me to the Fiji Islands to meet some of his people he had a lot of followers, they are still his followers he is gone, hes passed may G-d give him paradise. He has followers in the Fiji Islands and they from the Fiji Islands and we thank Allah swt that He has given us this relationship that we have with the people who are managing the hotel and working out arrangements for us. It is very good but our crowd is growing and I knew that, it is going to grow even much bigger than it is now and I dont think were looking at all of them I believe some of them are somewhere else, there are more people than what we see here.

And they are standing here have them come and sit down, were used to sitting on the floor so have brothers come in it is important for us to have carpet.

I have sat on concrete, on wood, I have sat on hard stuff but well make it but we have to be thinking right now about how were going to accommodate these numbers for the first Sunday of next month.

So youll be hearing from us en sha Allah through the grapevine or some other way. Thank you very much we ask Allah swt to guide us always and to show us mercy for if He had not guided us we would have never found the way, Ameen.
