When Allah Motivates You - You Command Respect

By Imam W. Deen Mohammed
Yes. What do I mean when I say, enemy? The enemy of human development. The oppressor of human potential. He's not supposed to be dominating the air. You're supposed to have the freedom of the air. You're supposed to be utilizing the air. How do I know that? Allah says, "And whatever He has created above, and whatever He has created down here, He has utilized it, or brought it into services for human beings. "Sak-khara". He has rendered it to be of service to you. So, that means the air and everything I see up there. And, we have allowed the crooks to study and benefit from the knowledge. And, the Bible says, and the scripture says, "And he stole the heavenly fire" right? And, the Qur'an says, "And they go up to steal a hearing, and they used to be successful at it, but now they will find fiery, shooting comets, or stars, aimed at them if they come up." Meaning what? That they cannot attain the knowledge that this Qur'an gives, by theft. It says, "No one can get it except the purified." Oh yes. Oh yes.
it says, "And a company of Jinns, they got an inkling of the recital of the wonderful Qur'an, and they confessed aloud, they said, "We bear witness that we have heard a wonderful recital, and it is not befitting of neither man nor Jinn, that he should ascribe lies to his Lord" Yes. This is the wisdom of the Qur'an. The Qur'an stays here. It's been here for 1,400 years. The Qur'an stays here, but nations go up and come down. Progress goes up and falls, right? Why, because when they lose the moral respect for the great gems that G-d has given or the great resources that G-d has opened to humanity, Allah locks it, and closes the door against them. That's why we shouldn't even worry about any competition from the moral degenerates. From the vulgar-minded people. From the unethical hypocrites that won't seek truth and righteousness, and perfection of life, who would buy a lie for temporary advantages. We shouldn't be fearing those people's competition. Say, "Look, what's so and so doing? How are they progressing? I heard they are really doing good." I ain't even interested in what they're doing. As long as they have that mind, I know they ain't doing as well as I'm doing. Impossible, because Allah would not allow them the opportunities that He allows the righteous people, or the clean-minded folks. No, He won't allow them the opportunity.
They may appear to be going up, but their situation is unstable. It only takes a little thing like that to make it all crumble. So, let us have faith, and don't worry, because we are on the right course. Oh yes. For sure. Now, beyond the air, what is there? Airless space. Out there, you can't live, unless you take some of this with you, right? That's a further, a farther sphere for activity. But there outside in that sphere, or in that realm of opportunity, there is no air. You can't breathe out there. Now, I can do without water for a lot of days. I can do without food for even longer time, but air, it won't be long, buddy. If I'm white, I turn blue. It won't be long. Yeah.
So, you got to take some of this with you, right? Okay, now what is this? What gets a rocket off the ground and enables it to shoot through air to weightless space or airless realm? It's force. Great force. So Allah says, "And you cannot go out and transverse the boundaries unless you have great knowledge and great power". It says great, the word is Sultan. The attributes of Sultan is power and knowledge. See, this ain't no guess work, it's scientific. The attributes of Sultan is power and knowledge. Says, "And you cannot get out there and transverse the boundaries." That is, go outside of space and go over through the orbits of the heavens. You cannot do that, "Illa be Sultaanan A'theeme", except you have great knowledge and great power. Man came into great knowledge and great power, great scientific knowledge studying the Earth that Allah made, studying the things that Allah did. And, that knowledge with great power ... then they had to get power. Not only knowledge from the mass, he had to go and get the power of the mass. And then with the knowledge and the power of the mass, he was able to throw something out there where Allah through His missiles. Right? Yes.
Now, but if he's to go out there with that bullet, he has to take the essentials here with him. So, he takes his food, in powdered form, or some kind of form. He takes his liquid, water, and he takes his air, right? Yes, he has to take these with him out there. But, he's able to get out there now, oh yes. And, the one that is most crucial for him out there is what? Air. Air. That's the one he's most worried about. Why? Because that's the one that quicken life in him though he was a living form. He was not a functioning being until the breath of life came into him. Then, that shocked his system and made his system turn on and work independent of his mother's system. Right? All right, I think we're getting there. Let's keep on. With the help of Allah, we will have crystal clear to you what life is and what you need to do in order to progress. To maintain life and progress.
Don't think that I have to come here with some book from Shultzafitz 400 pages, or 1,000 pages from Mr. Shultzafitz, or somebody else, you see? And put that on a board and tell you that. That ain't the way it was done. The people who built this world, they didn't have those books. These books were written on what they did. So, that brings us to effort. Effort. So, we have to connect effort with air, because we were shocked into making our own effort by the breath of life, right? The breath of life came into our nostrils. It shocked the system and made us begin to live by our own effort. The lungs by their effort, the heart by their effort, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, right? All right. No, the heart was already beating. Pardon me. But, the lungs, in order to have independent movement, or conscious movement, because air is symbolic of consciousness. In order to have this self-conscious movement, we needed the system to be shocked so we can operate on our own, or it means by your own conscious. Right? You can have conscience. Independent, conscious activity outside of your mother. Whereas, in your mother, your heart was beating, your blood was flowing through the veins. These things were functioning, but you didn't have consciousness, so you didn't have independence.
You had to feed through your mother's system. You had to excrete through your mother's system. Your vital functions were carried on because of your mother's system, or your mother's support. But, once you were put off from your mother, freed from your mother, then Allah shocked your system with what? Air. And made your system come on independently. Consciousness came behind air, right? Consciousness came behind air, and then you were able to go on from there. All right.
So, let us go on. Keep continuing to read here, this is wonderful. Effort and air, effort and air. Now, we know we speak of different kinds of storms. Wind storms. There are hurricanes, water storms, right? There are also tornadoes, land storms, right? And then, there are fire storms. Fire storms. So, we find all the main basic elements, they are influenced by air, and they have their violent activity, right? Violent activity. Fire storms. A fire storm is a huge fire that just consumes a lot of air, and the more air it consumes, the more the fire enrages, right? And, it becomes a fire storm. Hard to put out.
Now, we know fire storms are what you call radical activity, right? Storms are radical activities. So you know, we can make a storm. Didn't we make a storm on the west side during the '60s? A storm in Watts, California during the '60s? We made storms. Radical movement. Made storms. Yes. But, what about discipline? That's what built the structures. Didn't no storm throw those structures up. Discipline threw those structures up. All right. But nevertheless, air, though it can be caused to rage by radical development in the environment, it is precious, most dear if we are to have progress, growth, and independent mobility. Independent function. Conscious activity. Yes. What are we talking about? Motivation. Motivation.
Man has used air, especially the breath of air, as a symbol of a need to be motivated. How do we become conscious? Something has to motivate us. If nothing would motivate us, you won't have concern. No concern, no conscious. No consciousness, right? We have to be motivated. Air is a symbol of motivation. But, motivation is on two levels. That's why G-d says, "When I have breathed into Him of my spirit" meaning that he's got a spirit already, and I know you're not respecting him, but wait. Wait until I motivate him. Isn't inspiration a motivation. If I say I'm inspired, doesn't it mean I'm motivated? See how they break up the language so we don't know what they're saying on one side of the world? Motivation is motivation. Inspiration is motivation. So it says, "When I have breathed into him of My spirit, then you fall down and accept his rule". Meaning that, if Allah is the motivation in your life, you will command respect. He says, "Come, willingly, or unwillingly." When the right thing is in you, you command respect. They might not like it but you command their respect, right?
So, what is the rule of Al-Islam connected with motivation again? The purity of intention. If the intent is pure, the motivation is pure, but if the intent is not pure, the motivation can be right from the start, but after it started, the intent goes wrong, right? Then when the intent goes wrong, you misuse the power. The motivation power. You misuse it, and if you misuse the motivation power, use it wrongly, then your intent goes wrong and though motivation was in you right, your intent has made that source, or that power wrong, you see? So, when we speak of motivation, we're talking about something that we normally perceive as being beyond the person's immediate, or the person's direct control, right? We're not talking about things immediately within the person's control. We're talking about something that's not directly within an individual's control, so we use terms like motivation. But, when you use language like intent, it means that's conscious. Right? See?
So, what is it saying? It's saying this, that G-d put the right spirit in you. G-d put the right motivation in you, but when you begin to get your own opinion and fall under the weight of wrong thoughts and wrong desires, it ruins your spirit and then your intent is not the intent that G-d wanted. Your intent is not in accord with your original motivation. So, Adam was a man who fell, wasn't he? What motivated him? And the same G-d says that Adam was created in the most excellent form. In other words, he wasn't wrongly motivated when he was created. He was rightly motivated. Oh yes. But, he slipped. He went off, and his mind, his own mind, following suggestions independent, using his own discretion independent of what G-d established in him caused him to digress, caused him to verge away, and he slipped into the wrong course of life. Is that not right? According to our language, according to our religion.
And G-d says, "When I have breathed in him of My spirit, then you accept him." Meaning that, whenever I motivate, you accept that. Now, I have a book here right before me today. A book. This is a booklet that's called, "A Nation At Risk". It's talking about this nation, the United States of America. These are top people, top brains in this country who are assigned the task to study the problems in public education for the public school system. And, they have described the situation as being a risk situation that risks even the stability and life of this nation. What do they also say in their discovery, even people before these people began to analyze the situation? They say that there is a lack of motivation. Isn't that what they say? Saying, "It's getting harder and harder to motivate people." Why? Because, Allah is the motivation. That's why, and they have taken the people into a silly state of mind where they think they can question any and everything. Where they think they can have their opinions about any and everything. Allah, the word of G-d, everything. They think they are free to make a joke of anything. That the Americans are entitled to, the Western mind is entitled to put G-d, even G-d into comedy. So, how can we expect motivation when the society has gone away from G-d?
This time shouldn't be a time encouraging you all to go to atheism, and communism, and socialism without Allah. You're silly, silly, silly, silly slaves who can't think above the age of a seven or 12 year old. That's your problem. So, you're easily influenced by your role models. You don't look for wisdom. You look for the station of a person in society. You look for false titles. You don't want to test the substance. You just want to know where he came from. "Did he graduate from Yale? That's good enough for me. Did he graduate from Cornell University? That's good enough for me. Does he have a PhD? That's good enough for me. Did he get his degree from an established institution? That's good enough for me. Is he one that the majority recognizes? That's good enough for me?" So, you're the victim of that particular gullibility in you to follow superficial things. False credentials. Society's heroes, or I should say society's pimps. That's all most of them are. Pimps. The society's pimps. So, you are charmed by them, and whatever they say, you follow that.
Now, you can't help it. If G-d hasn't blessed you with insight, then the people with insight are responsible for your final conduct. So, you can't help it. Allah has established this. What can a dumbbell do in terms of deciding its course, or its standards in life? Nothing, when wise men betray their trust to keep the proper image or the proper example before the fool? Now, you were converted to your first mind by the credentialed people. So, if the credentialed people change their mind, it's natural that you change your mind, and they know that. So, they know they can easily get the masses to form any kind of opinion. All they have to do is present a figure to the masses that represents authority in terms of credentials. And the masses are so gullible. They swallow it without thought. They can tell you eating doo-doo is proper. They can tell you eating doo-doo is stylish, and I guarantee you that if they do this for 10 years, the majority of the masses of ignorant people will be eating doo-doo and be telling you, "You're crazy, man. Doo-doo is delicacy." Excuse my language, but doo-doo is no bad word. Change it as you want it. Make it excretion, please, or human feces.
Yeah. So, see you don't know. So, don't sit there and be bull-headed. Saying, "Who is he to talk to us like this? The man is not Dr so and so, and so. That man is not educated. He doesn't have a degree. I read about Wallace." But, do I have substance? Huh? All right. So, if I come with substance, don't look for a degree. Degree is only a recognition that's given to substance. Now, you don't expect a man like me to be offered a degree. No, no, that's not the point. The credentialed people, they're upset as hell because of my presence. They ain't going to give me no credentials. I'm shaking their boats. In fact, I got an earthquake up under their bows. They're not going to give me a credential. You have to have the good sense to recognize substance. And, if you recognize substance, accept it. And if you accept it, it will raise your station in society. Praise be to Allah.
The need to be motivated is the key, if you're going to get people to move in progress. You have to find a way to motivate those people. And, what I'm telling you, that without a recognition of G-d, without recognizing a superior authority over our life, then the motivation nature is dead. The motivation nature is dead. The things that move us are temporary, they are not constant. They can't be constant for us. You, perhaps, can be moved by the appeal to go into moneymaking. Somebody who is a genius, a brilliant fellow in the market, he will encourage you to follow his genius, and you'll go into the market, and you'll make millions. You might make millions overnight, but is that success? That's not always success. As they say, "A fool and his money soon parts." And believe me, if you don't accept to be a slave to those people who open that door to you, they will see that you don't get anywhere. If they open the door to you, you're going to have to serve them. You're going to have to accept their morals, their principles, their policies. Et cetera, et cetera. So, you won't be free, you'll be a slave. So, Allah didn't say you can't go nowhere without Him. He said you can go to hell. And, the rich man is in hell too. Rich, poor, the mighty General, they all go to hell.
So, He didn't say you wouldn't get rich, He didn't say you wouldn't get to be a mighty man on Earth, but He said, "If you don't come my way, you will certainly go to hell" and I bear witness that all of their boys who follow their opportunities and accept their polluted ways, and corrupt ways of motivating human activity, they end up in hell.
And what is it to have things if you can't enjoy it? I don't want to be in hell with my riches. I want to be in heaven with my riches. This is the only way if you want right, and if you want to indeed have life. It's no life to be with the sinners and the criminals. That's no life.
This brings us to another terminology, because after all behind motivation should become what? Insight. Allah says "Khalaqa fasawwa, qaddara fahada". And He said these, no He didn't say these, but by reasoning, He said that He has given every creature, its needs in four periods or four stages or four days. It's to be understood as, has given him his provisions, meaning his needs in four stages.
Abraham said when he was asked to tell Pharaoh, a man that believed that the only G-d was himself, who G-d was, the prophet answered (peace be on him) and he said, "the one who gave every creature his form and thereafter his guidance. So, we may then say that guidance are contained in form or the guidance is implicit in the form. So when He gave the creature his guidance, He gave the creature his guidance out of his form. In other words, He revealed out of the form the guidance for that creature.
Isn't the guidance for the care of the human anatomy, in human anatomy? You can't get it out of another anatomy. Yes, the guidance for the form is in the form praise be to Allah. So, don't get outside of your form for it like Pharaoh did. He went out of his form for his guidance. He claimed that the divine agent had incarnated itself in him and he was no longer man form. He was G-d. That's what Pharaoh had claimed. And he claimed that this was a possibility, some kind of transmutable law worth, to make it possible for the matter creature human, to become divine.
So, he went outside of his form for his understanding. And the prophet was trying to call him back in a very polite and dignified way to his good senses. He said, "I serve the one who gave every creature his form and thereafter his guidance," telling Pharaoh first, you are a man. Now let's talk about that and move from that premise only. Yeah, that's what the prophet was telling him in very common language, plain language, but in a diplomatic way. He was respecting the ruler of Egypt at that time, and I think Egypt was the whole earth at that time.
All right, let us continue now in talking about motivation. So, G-d gave the creature his motivation. Life itself as G-d created motivates life to seek its fulfillment. Is that not right? Now, but because man is freed from the mode of his own nature and he comes into independent consciousness where he can now not only identify, he can vicariously change identities. A man can act out the pleasures of a dog. He can transform his mind watching a dog, and he can put himself into the dog and experience what the dog is experiencing as a dog.
What I mean by that, if he doesn't stop, pretty soon he will bark. If he doesn't keep his senses that he's not the dog, he's merely transporting himself in the dog form for the sake of experiencing dog level life. If he's not conscious of the experience for the experimenter, if he's not conscious of himself being the experimenter, he's overcome by his experiment.
Anyone get tired, you can leave. It's okay. No problem. Don't think we'll feel bad about this, because I know it's hard to sit for so long.
Now, man can enjoy life vicariously. You have been watching a movie and got caught up into the act and find yourself doing what the hero was doing. If the hero was hitting, you were hitting. If he was shooting, you pow pow. Yeah, I've seen that while watching a fighting movie. The person in the audience get caught up in the act.
So see, since G-d made us with this free mind, he gave us a limited freedom where we can come outside the mold of our own discipline and experience other modes so that we can utilize that knowledge for the advancement of society. But if we are not careful, we'll get hung up into the experiment and be destroyed by it. That happens to too many of us.
All right, so let us then understand that because the man is able to go outside of his mode now, G-d has to then give him what? Guidance, "thumma hada". Although every creature is given guidance, but the other creatures are given guidance through their own innate or inherent nature. They don't have to do anything outside of that. That's why their life pattern is constant. The roach is the roach that he was in Pharaoh's kingdom. I've read in the history they had some roaches in Nefertiti's quarters.
Yeah, so we find that these things have kept to their disciplines over thousands of years after Allah formed their form. Right? Yes, but human beings, he goes outside his discipline. So, because he's given the freedom to go outside his discipline, G-d gives him revelation, and revelation holds him to the proper course of freedom so that his freedom won't destroy his form. Praise be to Allah.
"Thumma hada", and afterwards, He gave the guidance. And what is one of the names of the Qur'an, the guidance. Al-Huda the guidance. And Allah says in Sura 2 verse 2. That's the word. Hudan, Guidance. It is guidance for the conscience, those who reverence that that should be reverenced. And what should be reverenced most? He says, "Wat-taqullah" and reverence G-d. Oh, yes.
All right, so let us go on now. So, outside of the behavioral mode that G-d made for us, we have consciousness, and consciousness is the fifth principle or fifth expression for the human being. Now, we know they say you're not conscious till you have ten. That's consciousness on a higher level. Ten means you have the exercise of those senses. You have the conscious exercise of those senses. You can recall what you have experienced. Like the fighter who knocks out the man, and the referee want to see if he fits to keep fighting. He'll ask him where you live, what's your name? Even though he came up on ten, but he still doesn't look like he's in. Look like he's still out. So, the referee say, "Where you live? What's your name?" If he can recall, okay, he fulfills the requirement for the count of ten, even though it looked like he couldn't fulfill it at first.
So, consciousness on ten is the ability to recall past experience, but consciousness is five. And on the fifth day, the Bible says He created the birds to fly in the open heaven. Upon what? Air. And He breathed into the man's nostrils the breath, and he became a living soul. Right? Right.
And Muhammad the prophet says peace be on him, "There is no better day than Friday. Friday's the fifth day. It is the day that Allah created the man on. It is the day that he died on, and it is the day that he'll be resurrected on. In other words, you die in consciousness. You live in consciousness. If you die, you have to be resurrected in consciousness. Right?
Oh yes, and "Mout" the death process is associated with what? Tasting. Allah says, "And every soul shall have a taste of death". But how can you taste without air? Praise be to Allah.
See, we have to understand these things. And when did He guide the man? When He gave him air, and according to what I've explained to you so far, I can establish then when He gave him air, it was the fifth day. It was on a Friday. And they call Friday in mythology what? Free day. Friday. Friaday, F-R-I-A or Freeday. Yes, and the world makes it what? Frigid day. So, I think they mean frigid when they say Friday or they mean fried like the French fries or something. I don't know what they mean.
Friday is Yawmul Jumua, the day of coming together. And it is also Yawmul Khams, the fifth day. Prophet Muhammad. You know what day he was born they say? Monday. Monday, not Friday. But was he the Khalifa when he was born? Was he the prophet when he was born? But when Allah breathed into him of His spirit, then he became the prophet, right? So, he had two births didn't he? He had one birth in the natural scene and another birth on the divine plane. Right? According to scripture.
Okay, so behind motivation, consciousness. Behind consciousness, what? Insight. And how does insight start? Insight starts with curiosity. In other words, a concern. If you don't have no intellectual concerns, you'll always be stupid. Concerns. Again, concerns. So, the human being gets concerned, and it serves his intellectual curiosity. Right? And men whose curiosities were excited, they became what we call philosophers. They represent that term identified as great thinkers. Zeno, Plato, Aristotle, Hippocrates, and that's what he was. A hypocrite. And all the others, but some of them are great figures.
Most of them were very morally upright men. Oh yes, they had religious sensitivity. Most of them are recorded in history for having a recognition of a superior power, authority, or being. Yes, this is true. This is facts of history.
All right, now behind them comes what we call the age of science behind the philosophers. We have the age of the philosopher and the age of the scientists. Now, don't think scientists weren't here before. Scientists were here before, but the sciences changed. Before it was the philosophers who introduced both faith and science. The philosophers introduced to man, to society both faith and science. Both morality and pragmatism. The philosophers introduced both, but along came the age of the scientists and what happened? They separated. A split came. So, there is philosophy and science, and they tell you where they touch. They will tell you where they touch. Philosophy and science, they saw it as a developmental process that preceded what they call pure sciences, the pure sciences. This is their language I'm using.
All right. Now, what follows that? The separation of church and state. What follows that? Secularism. What is secularism? The exalting of science and the discrediting G-d and religion. Yeah, they laugh at purely religious impulses or religious responses in the colleges and universities. So you see how the process has gone to bring about the rule of the ungodly. This is clear. Now, let us look at the point developed here.
Allah says in Qur'an, "And the Jinn society We created before." That is before the human being, the man. And Allah also says that He created the jinn of a fire free of smoke. And He also says, through the jinn, Allah, He depicts the jinn, and He reveals through the jinn what the jinn is. He says, "And such has come into you that you behave arrogantly, and the jinn replied I am better than he. You made him of mud fashioned into shape. Smell giving off mud fashioned into shape." That gives off bad smell. A sense of smell. Said, "And you made me from the fire of a dry wind." An-Narrus Sammur", You made me from the fire of a dry wind, a wind without moisture.
Without moisture mean there's no emotionality there. There's no sensitivity there. Who are the two describing? The two are describing the true teaching that was typical of the philosopher in those days who had a respect for forces that were beyond his total grasp. And the hardened scientist, the imperialists who follows what they call empiricism. Imperialism, empiricism. Empire, imperialism. Empire, empiricism. And they convert you to it in the colleges, and you can't make the connection that it was an imperialist who gave that kind of what they call it? Discipline, rational discipline. They call it the empirical method. You can't see it empire in it though they're teaching at a college level, and you can't see empire until you come and get it from a common man without credentials. Shouldn't that tell you something?
Empire is as plain as day in it. It's only an ending that qualified a word. Empire is there. The ending is only an adjective. It makes it an adjective. Means descriptive of the empire. That's what it means. Descriptive of an empire. Empirical method. You didn't know you were following Satan did you?
All right, so Allah tells us of the two different types of mental makeup. One, he doesn't deny his human form. His spirit still carries along with it his human makeup, the essential human makeup. He's emotional. He can't divorce himself from that essential makeup in his life. He's constituted emotionally. He can't completely divorce himself from that life. Wasn't the Prophet Muhammad emotional? Certainly he was emotional. That's why the Qur'an preserves that character for him by constantly telling us the Prophet saying, "and don't grieve yourself over the condition of these people." Constantly keeps him before us as an emotional man, a man who had a living, human emotionality. Praise be to Allah.
But it is the jinn, the Satan who developed out of the jinn, he is the one who gets the breath and then divorce from the breath the human identity. The moisture of the air. Say, "And you made me from a scorching air, free of moisture. Dry from the fire of a dry air." We know fires burst out be of dryness. They call them forest fires, et cetera. Get too dry, you have what they call instantaneous combustion. Or spontaneous. Pardon me. Spontaneous combustion. Just burst into flames. Why? Because no moisture is there.
All right, so I know we holding you a long time, but hope you have patience. If you just have to go, you just have to go. I know some of you have appointments, some of you have cramps and everything. I don't want you to suffer. So, you won't hurt any of us. I don't like to hold you over an hour to tell you the truth.
Now, if we're going to ourselves as a people, because after all, we are not established. If we were established, then the machinery of our establishment would sustain our life, but we are not an established people. The negro or the African-American, he is not an established people. So, since he's not an established people, he has no machinery to sustain his society. The Chinese people that come over here, they are established in Chinese tradition. So, they have a machinery, a structure, a machinery, a system. They have something to sustain Chinese life. So is it for the Italians, Irish, French, whoever comes over here. They come over here from some connection with a traditional life, and because of that, they have a life form to sustain them while they act crazy.
But while we act crazy, we have no support. No support. Don't you know that's a critical situation for a people? No matter how much money we got individually, don't you know we are virtually a slave camp, a plantation of pampered slaves. That's right. Do you know in slavery times they had slaves with wealth? In slavery times there were slaves with wealth riding around on the finest horse, wore the finest clothes. The master gave him that. Yes, during slavery times. All the slaves wasn't raggedy. Some of the slaves was dressed just like him. Dressed better than a lot of freed whites. A lot of free whites. Pardon me. The slaves dressed better than a lot of free whites. Big ole' Suxton. I don't know if it was called Suxton or not, but he had his big Suxton on, man. He was dressed down. Dressed down and up. Yeah, this is history. This is a fact.
