                    Homewood, Ill.

With Allahs name, the praise and the thanks is for G-d. We thank Him for the gift and blessing of the model human person Muhammad (pbuh), the honorable and noble servant and Messenger of G-d and what follows of that salute or that traditional salutation to the last Prophet (pbuh), the seal of the Prophets mentioned in the Bible as it is given in the Quran.

    Imam Warith Deen Mohammed

  Morning Session

We start this morning, the last day of the session, the third session. We are going to begin this session with dhikr and I want you to follow me in dhikr:.. Subhanallah, the shortened version, is said ten times. Al haamdu lil laah is said ten times. Allahu Akbar is said ten times. We have completed the three dhikrs and we did each one ten times beginning with glorifying G-d, praising G-d, and lastly acknowledging that G-d is the bigger the greater.

Where do we get that from? Who told us, Allahu Akbar? The one who was doing dhikr. When Abraham was contemplating the order of G-ds material system, earth, sky, every thing, he was contemplating or reflecting on it, or thinking on it, dhirk, to take off the burden on of heart and soul; the burden of not knowing to Whom he owed obedience. He was looking for the highest authority, the One to Whom he said he owes obedience. But he didnt know who that was. So you know how the story goes, for the benefit of some of you who might not have heard it. I know most of you have. He began searching in the night and he was studying the heavens, the skies, and understand that the word for, Heavens in the Quran is skies. So we say skies, talking about what we see visibly up there. Then we say heaven, a mystery. But in Quranic Arabic the same word for sky is the word for heaven.

Abrahams story to teach you what scientific thinking is

So he was impressed by the beautiful canopy of the night, bedecked with stars, or adorned with beautiful lights and one attracted him more than the other.1 The star they believe he saw is the star called Sirius. Its a big star in the heavens. He contemplated on it and it got his attention for a while and he was thinking it could be G-d. Then, a star fell. As you know they do fall, but not the real big star; what we see in our eyes that we call stars, is not the scientific definition of the star. He said, No, they cannot be my G-d because they fall. Like Hollywood stars, they rise and fall.

But he stayed all night. This is scientific thinking. The story is to teach us what scientific thinking is. Scientific thinking is not to jump to a conclusion, like the impulse, the ordinary, common way of responding, or the impulse in us and ordinary humans. It is to be impressed and we go with that. We dont stop and question what impressed us. But Abraham was a scientific thinker and he didnt jump to conclusions even if something impressed him. So he was impressed with the heavens and the stars and the sky but he did not just say, This is a beautiful sky, that must be G-d up there. He stayed with it and he wanted to see what was going to happen. Will it remain this way after one hour? So he stayed long enough for a star to fall and observed a star falling and that changed his mind.

Now he stayed until the day came. When it came the dawn was so beautiful and impressive and the rays of the sun were so beautiful and impressive and when it got to its most beautiful stageSome of you if you have been out in the morning in a wide open plain, the sunrise can be beautiful just like sun set; especially if youre sitting on a water front like a big lake or ocean and you see the sun rising up out of that water. It looks just like it is real. It looks like it is actually rising up out of the water.

Abraham wanted his thinking to bring him to a logical conclusion

See how Allah made His creation? Think about that. Actually, I have done it. I watched it more than once and if you are in the right situation where the water is a big lake or ocean the sun rises up and it looks like you see water dripping off of it, like it is a dish or something, not fire. It looks like you see liquid dripping off of it as it is coming up out of the water. Allah made it appear like that to us so that we would use our sense of beauty and adore the Lord Who made that happen. But man is deceived. He thinks without bringing his thought or his thinking to a logical conclusion. Abraham was such a man. He did not just think. He wanted his thinking to bring him to a logical conclusion. He was a scientific thinker, teacher. He said, It is so beautiful, splendid, radiant, this must be my G-d. But he is a scientific thinker. He had to watch it for a while. So he sat and watched it as it came up to noon time and went down. When it set and went out and he did not see it anymore he said, This cannot be my G-d. My G-d is One Who does not set. Praise be to Allah. This has reference to a lot of things in the history of mans struggle to find the absolute truth or the true reality of things.

Now let us go back in the story and life of Abraham. How did he begin? He as a boy and his father was the ruler. And his father and his fathers people worshiped idols. So Abraham, as a boy, didnt like that, so he destroyed the idols and his father questioned him saying, Abraham, did you do this? Abraham said, Ask the big one. And his father exiled him, put him out from their kingdom. And Abraham began traveling from one land to another. And you know how he became a scientific thinker, searching the universe for G-d. I just went over that in little small details. Abraham also is the one looking for a spot to place, to build the house for the worship of G-d. I hope you have your papers out because everything Im telling you is relevant to everything that Im going to be saying for the first day, second day, and now, even to the khutbah on Friday and the selection of the chapter that I recited. Everything is connected. Nothing is disconnected. I planned the presentation and it begins with a khutbah and Salatul Jumah.

Abraham is a community

Abraham found the Black Stone, and the way the story went is like he saw the Black Stone fall. Now understand that this is a thinker, the story of a scientific thinker who is looking for scientific support for what he wants to introduce to people to order society. He was a community thinking man. He thought
community.2 How do we know that? Because Prophet Muhammad said the ummah of Abraham and the millah of Abraham. 3 This is the millah of Abraham. It means the hope of Abraham and it is a community after the order of Abraham haneefah, the upright in nature. So we know that Abraham is a community.

I was in Saudi Arabia as a member of the Supreme Council of Masajid, masjids, and I still am. I still have that position. As I was leaving the president of Rabita al Islami, the Islamic World League, he said, You know Imam, Abraham is a community. He said that because he wanted to leave that on my mind. He was one of those learned people that if he likes you, he likes to share something with you. I said, Yes, and he said, And Muhammad is a community. I had to think on that. I did not say, Yes. I didnt say
anything. I remained quiet and just went out. I greeted him and left. I was getting ready to leave, coming back home.

But that is true. I dont know a prophet who is not a single figure and a plural figure at the same time, especially Jesus Christ., Adam, Abraham, and Muhammad, peace be on them. Those for sure are single and plural figures at the same time. That means when we think of that person, or that picture, or that figure, we should understand that it is a man, a single person, but also he is a picture of the whole people that he leads or is sent to lead. So he is a community picture as well as a personal or individual picture. It is very clear and in the Christian world. The church uses the expression the, Body Christ, and they are not talking about Jesus, personally. They are talking about the church, the whole congregation, the following. I know where Im going. I dont need a single note today, praise be to Allah.

Abraham thought where the Black Stone fell the message to him was, Build My house, here. So that is where he built the house, he and his son. And they put the Black Stone in the corner of that house. Too many of you have a tendency to just take these things and dont try to ask what is this all about? If you would follow the guidance of Quran and follow the guidance of Muhammad, the Prophet, that he gave us, too, with his teachings and comments on things you wouldnt be lost like that.

Prophet Muhammad comes in the progression of the revelation

Prophet Muhammad comes in the progression of the revelation. He comes in the sequence of prophets who came one after another, succeeding each other; who came one after another and the Quran is a Book that is composed of Books that came before. That simply means, there is no big deal. Dont be telling me, Your head is hurting and this is deep. If that is true of you, you should not come here. In fact, you should just watch TV and listen to the radio and music and forget about serious matters. You are not conditioned for it. Your mind is not conditioned for it. Something is wrong.

Do you know sometimes you open your mouth and you say, Im a hypocrite, Im a disbeliever, and you are not saying anything but, Man he was heavy. I couldnt get it. Did he give you a headache, brother? But when believers hear you they hear the voice of a hypocrite, a disbeliever. Im talking about the true believers among us. They know you, brother. You cant hide from them. They know each other. And if you are not one of the believers they know you right away. And we knew that under the Honorable Elijah Mohammed. We could tell a phony when we looked at him or when he appeared.

Kabah: Many houses were built but the Kabah was the first built for worship of the one true G-d

Abraham and his son built the house and Allah says of the house that he built that it is the, Awwal bait, the most ancient of houses, the first of the houses. 4 It is called, Al bait ateeq. 5 That means the most ancient house and it is called the first of the houses constructed for the worship of G-d. Now really, if we are talking about a physical occurrence we know that is not the first of the houses built. But if we are talking about the true house with the construction that says this house is for the worship of the real and only G-d, the Kabah, built by Abraham and his son, is the first one. Many houses were built but they did not receive guidance. They didnt call on the true G-d. Abraham identified the true G-d, so when he was building that house, he was doing it with a knowledge of the true G-d. And the true G-d is the G-d of everything. The true G-d is the G-d of the universe and also the Lord of the universe, the Lord of all the worlds.

Create means G-d brought matter into existence.
Evolver means He progressed the universe from its simple form to the complex form we see now.

So he is the One Who evolved creation, itself. The word evolve is different from the word created. Created means He brought it into existence. Evolved means that He progressed it from a beginning that was simple to its big, huge, complex form that we see now. And we are told that the heavenly space, or the universal, ethereal spaceSome of you have these other terms but I want everybody to understand clearly what Im saying. That space is said to have been smoke, or not real smoke, but appearing as smoke, or as dust in confusion.6 Not dust rested, dust in confusion, shaken all about, stirred up; or as smoke in confusion; the same thing as stirred up, going everywhere. And you have seen smoke like that.

Some smoke rises straight up. Some goes out and looks like it is just all confused and that is because of the way the fire is going on. So it can give a violent motion and some of them translate it, In violent motion, or commotion. It is a picture of the beginning of the creation in space. No star had formed, nothing orderly had happened. It was in disarrangement. It was in disorder and G-d brought it to order and He evolved life on earth from nothing to something. So this is what we mean when we say Allah is the Lord of the worlds. We are talking about that process.

Allah, the Lord of Mankind, talking about a process beginning with man as nonscientific, uneducated

And when we say Allah is the Lord of mankind we are talking about a process beginning with man as empty headed, nonscientific, uneducated and Allah revealed to one of them who presented himself in form, in the natural body. This is not a revealed person, not a person who received revelation like Muhammad, we discussed already, before revelation. He took a person like that and He communicated to that person and made him a leader for the beginning of civilization, to start civilization on this planet earth.

Abraham built the house with a knowledge of the oneness of G-d. We started this session today on Sunday which will be concluded with Thuhr Prayer. We are going to have, after prayer, a time space before the live radio broadcast. So in that space if you dont have a schedule to get out of here quickly, we can at least have 40 minutes for questions. But your questions have to be taken at random. You will make questions and we will take a question from a brother, a question from a sister and we will start up here and take one in the first three rows and then we will go three more rows back and well take one question from that row; and will continue until we get to the back, going three rows back. So I cant handle a lot of questions. We dont have time, so they will bring the questions to me and we will take only two questions from each stop; one from a brother and one from a sister. I will go through them and look at them and see which one I should respond to for the better benefit of all of us. I will do the selection. So I might not select any more than about 3 or 5 and I will answer those questions, en sha Allah.

A house built for all people, full of blessings

We dont have time in this session to bring out or to identify in Quran and the teaching of Muhammad, the Prophet, and relate it to scriptures that were before, to show you the science that is in the house we call Kabah. You look at a little simple house. It is simple, but very deep. It is simple but complex at the same time. It represents humanity. It represents the beginning of human society in it best construction. Allah says of the house that in it are many blessings. It is a blessed house. What you should understand is that the very house itself exudes or extends, imparts messages to the true thinker, the one who is thinking for G-ds way. It imparts messages. It is full of blessings, a house built for all people; not for one people, for all people; not for one nation, for all nations.

Adam not leader for all nation; hes the beginning

He made Abraham the leader for all the nations and the Bible says he made him a father. And we call him father, also. In the Bible G-d actually says that. I changed your name from Abram to Abraham and you will be a father to the many. 8 This means he is a leader to all the nations. It is in the Bible. It is the same message in the Bible and in the Quran of him being the leader for all the nations and all people. Now that is saying something, too, to us.

He never said that of Adam, why? Because Adam had not ascended enough to have enough knowledge of G-ds creation. He is the beginning of the rise of the mind, intellect, and heart that G-d wants for the people, or wants in the leader for the people. He is the beginning. He is the first. In fact, he was so new and his thinking was so new and fresh and young that the satan was able to deceive him out of his mind that G-d created him in. But as we said in the session before that he met a word from his Lord and he repented his wrong and G-d, Allah, accepted him. 9 Im not rushing with this. Relax, you are fasting. You should be relaxed. A fasting man does not have enough energy to be all nervous and jittery. It is supposed to settle you down.

 Qawaaid refers to grammatical construction
The house is a metaphor of the word of G-d

The expression, Qawaaid bait, gives us knowledge, not just imagination and when Abraham was building the house the term for how he was constructing it is, Qawaaid. How many advanced students in Quranic Arabic are in the first three rows? Do you know anything about grammar? Yes, Imam Agin, who has studied for a long time, Quranic Arabic, and this history of ours. The word that is used is the word for grammatical construction. So the house is a physical picture, but the real meaning is not physical. The house represents language that Allah communicated to Abraham.

So the house is a metaphor of the word of G-d. In the beginning there was the word. 10 So the house is a metaphor, a physical picture, that you should not take as a physical house, but you should think on it, dhikr. You should meditate on it. You should reflect on it. You should think deep into it. Now what does it look like? It looks like a little small cubicle and if it is the first house why is it so small? Because it is the first house. It is saying, This is your beginning. You have a big house now. You have mansions but your beginning was from a little, small, simple house, a small simple structure; no furniture in it. How do I know? The rulers of Saudi Arabia took me and a few who were with me inside the Kabah and asked us did we want to pray in there. Do you know what I told them? I dont feel right praying inside the Kabah. Prayers are to be done outside.

It is not a real house. It is a sign that is imparting messages to the real thinker who G-d has blessed to be a thinker. So it is speaking of our beginning as a social body. The real student, if he doesnt understand what I mean when I say social body, he will to go to the English dictionary, not to the Arabic dictionary. You speak and you know English. You dont know Arabic. Very few of you know Arabic. Even those who think they know Arabic dont know it, most of them. Im looking at them and listening to them. We have some here who know Quranic Arabic, good students. Im very proud of them, too. Im not going to name anybody but we have several among us right not. There might be more, many more who are in this audience right now, females, too.

So you should go to the dictionary and look up social and dont just look up the first definition. If it has twenty definitions, go through all of them. If it has twenty entries explaining what social is or giving the definition of it, you should not stop at just looking at entry one. Go all the way down until you finish the meanings given in that dictionary and use a good dictionary, not a little pocket dictionary. You need a good collegiate dictionary, or American Heritage dictionary. You need a good dictionary that has a lot of definitions in it and you go through it thinking on my expression I gave you and find the one that you think gives you the most help and understanding about what I was communicating when I said social body.

Allah made people to be a social order. How can you prove that? He says we all came from one father and a mother, that is enough. That says it, that the original, the beginning of human beings on this earth is a social order, socially related to one another; and you interact with each other upon respect for the relationship that you have with each other. Father, parent, mother, parents and children, brothers and sisters, those are relationships and what Allah calls the family ties. And He says reverence, have taqwa for G-d, but also have taqwa for the family ties. So what does it mean? If G-d says have taqwa for G-d, for Me and then He says, Wal arham, meaning also the close ties of family. If He says that the word literally goes back to the womb of the female. It means the fruits of her womb and the fruits of her womb are the children that is produced by the father. So the common sense conclusion is that Allah is talking about family. But the way He communicates is most powerful and rich in broadcasting meanings, light and understanding.

Rain: symbolic of revelation from G-d

Some of you went out of here shouting yesterday. Sometimes you get more out of a quiet talk and cool slow communication than you get out of hot, loud talk. That was beautiful yesterday. I had to get up out of my seat. I got a little piece of the Holy Ghost and I could not sit down anymore. Allah compares His sending down of communication from the heavens for our benefit on the earth as rain. And He describes the Quran as a light rain that is coming steadily down. 11 It is light, fine drops of water, but coming steadily, not like heavy rain comes with a lot of noise, big flashes of lightning and sometimes within a minute or so the clouds are gone and the light is out shining, again. Right? That is the way joyful messages affect us and sometimes will actually make tears start coming down from our eyes.

But that is good and Allah is the best Knower, because you know without the lightning flashes, the rain that comes down may be only water. But you know I mentioned that rain comes down that is not only water but has material substance in it, nitrates, natural fertilizer, to help the growth we need.12

Everything created to communicate G-ds Will and plan

Everything G-d has created when man discovers it, it was created to communicate G-ds Will and plan and His way of helping His creation. So no matter how much science draws out, whatever it brings out, it also is a communicator. Everything is a communicator. It communicates G-ds Will, plan and way for mankind. So there are signs in everything. Dont think because the science has gone in there and got it out now we are talking about neutrons, atoms, electrons, but are we talking about something that Allah did not do? No. Allah did this. Man did not create this. So even the neutrons, electrons, molecules, are signs; chemicals, numbers 1 through 9 and then repeating it by the same logic until you get to a hundred or infinite, forever, you can just count forever. Did you know counting is eternal? Can you imagine there is an end to counting? There is no end to counting. It is everlasting. It is ever extending. It is eternal. But the word for this common language understanding we have is infinity. It goes on without end.

Jesus as a spirit and the word of G-d.

Jesus Christ in the church or for the Christians is the image or manifestation of the divine. But to understand even the Christian science Im talking about, you can find it in many places in America. But Im talking about in the Vatican, I know they have it. Ive been among them, I have seen it. They have taken me on tours. I know they have the higher understanding. They dont think Jesus is a flesh and blood creation. That does not make Christ flesh and blood. This body here, this mortal form does not make Christ. They know that. And they have the same understanding we have as Muslims who have been informed or educated in this particular regard. They understand Jesus as a spirit and the word of G-d.

Now listen to what Im going to tell you right now. Muhammad, the Prophet, said in one of the inspired hadiths, it was not an ordinary hadith. He also had inspiration and under divine inspiration he spoke. It was not the Quran. He said things in a relaxed situation like Im doing now. It was him speaking as a person, as one of the people in his circumstances, or in his immediate environment. It was not as Prophet Muhammad. When Allah spoke to him as the Prophet or as His messenger and it was Quran that he shared with us that was coming to him from G-d. But this inspired hadith means that the spirit of G-d was strong on him when he spoke that and here is one of the things he said; and it, too, came down like that soft fine rain. The servant devoted to his Lord, he strives with his own soul, with his self, to get closer and closer in obedience to what his Lord wants. There comes a time in his devotion and striving that he becomes so close in obedience to Allahs Plan and Will that when He strikes you it is as though G-d hit you.13, 14 And when he speaks to you it is as though G-d spoke. Some of you wrestled with what I said yesterday all day and you tried to share your opinion, your views, with others and you were not pleased with what I did and said. I didnt hear you. G-d heard you.15 Im telling you, you should not be among us. You are not a believer. Im speaking of yesterday, of a vision of my hand with the followers of Muhammad, in a pledge under the tree.

Getting back to Abraham and building the house, raise your hand if you have better understanding of the house, now. Wonderful, thank you, praise be to Allah. Let us now go from the building of the house to Abrahams son who helped him build the house. Abraham had a partner building the house and his partner was his son. Isnt that a beautiful picture? Such a great thing he was doing building a house that would be a sign communicating wisdom, faith and blessing to all mankind, built for al people and his son was working with him. Let us see how this son earned the right to help our father build such a marvelous and wonderful sign.

  Black people are Hagars children

You know they call us Hagars children. Do you know that? A lot of you young folks, you are far from that language. But when I was a boy I heard the expression, Black people are Hagars children. Well, we are making them pay for it, all the derogatory slurs and whatever. Now is the time, with your leader, ImamW. Deen Mohammed. We can make all of them pay for it. Yes, those who are still in that ugly mind set thinking we are inferior to white folks, we are going to burn them all. You know the truth can burn? It is a strong fire.

So we go to his son now and we want to review his son coming up from birth. The first thing we have to see to understand this son, Ismail, is that his mother was a woman who had been put out, an outcast. High society rejected her and the high society that rejected her was the society of the accepted religious order in its highest recognition, or in the highest view we have of that community. The most respected of them rejected her and that is given in the name, Sarah, for Sarah was the wife of Abraham and he was the father of the order. Sarah asked him to, Take my maid servant. I am too old to bear a child. And he did it as his wife Sarah asked him. He took Hagar for his wife, Hajar, in Arabic.

And as she began to show signs of pregnancy Sarah began to get jealous. And Abraham, naturally, his heart is the most excellent of human hearts, Qalben salim. 16 It means beautiful, safe from harming anybody; beautiful heart of peace that has no ill will in it, or interest in it to harm anybody. So he is going to show kindness to Hagar and he is going to show more kindness and care as she becomes more burdened with child. And this made Sarah jealous. You ask, How can this man talk like this as he was there when it happened. G-d was there and He is always there at all times and all places. So whatever G-d wants His servant to know He just says, Be and it is, Kun fa yakun. Actually, for me, I know I dont get any credit. My disposition is I know nothing. I have access to nothing. This is not my credit. This is Your credit, Allah, subhana wata alaa, highly glorified and praised is He.

Hagar, Sarah denied her a place like Mary and Jesus were denied

So she said, Take this woman out of here. She cannot stay here. So Abraham, with a heavy heart because he loved his wife, Sarah with perfect love, took Hagar out in a desert place. What does that tell us? Much, but, Im talking on the level that practically any common sense person can understand. That is where I am talking now. What does that tell us? When Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, was carrying him, peace be on the two of them, there was no place for her to deliver her baby. Every place rejected her. They wouldnt accept her, so she ended up having to bear her child in a manger, a place where they kept animals, like a barn. The picture is picture of a barn where the animals were kept. That is where she had to go and have her delivery.

Now dont think there is no relationship, or no connection, that is very, very important for Marys dilemma and desperate situation and that of Hagar and her baby. There is a direct and strong connection. And actually, the issue is repeated in the New Testament. The same issue that is in the Old Testament it is repeated in the New Testament; the issue of discrimination and judging people by their physical or material status and by their situation under overpowering forces that deny them free expression, free exercise of the native talents that G-d created them with. The same issue comes up in the New Testament and it is given in the concept, or in the picture of Mary and her child that she was carrying.

You see, the rain is coming slowly, in fine drops. So when you see me slowing down like this I have to wait, too. I have a cup, too. And it is coming down so slowly I have to wait until I get enough in there. So that barren place, that desert, showed no cultural development, dead land. That barren place, arid land, dry land, that is not producing anything, that land is where Abraham saw the marking, the Black Stone and the place for building the house for all people, for all mankind.

Hagar running back and forth is symbolic of the mind trying to find a solution, desperately

Now his son, he is in that barren place and this is before the house was built. He is in his mother and she delivers him in that barren place, that nonproductive place, a garden with no fruits. She delivers him and she cant find water for her baby and he is thirsting for water. So she panicked, became very desperate. Panic means you lose you rational control. You lose your mental control. Thoughts are not helping you. So you just panic and you just go upon spirit or upon the force of spirit in you. And she went upon that, panicking as she went between the two hills. She would run up one hill, Safa, and then she would run to the other hill, Marwa. And the hills raise you up from lower levels, right? And isnt that our natural spirit to go up to G-d? When you really desperately need G-d you raise your hands and you go up and you lift your head up, Oh G-d! Oh G-d. And if there is a raised plain you want to get up higher. So she saw these two hills. She ran up to one screaming and pleading for help and she ran to the other and as soon as she would get there she would run back, going backwards and forward. But isnt that the way the mind operates when you are trying to find a solution? It goes from one extreme to another. It goes to one extreme and it doesnt find an answer. Then it leaves that and goes to the opposite extreme. That is what we should understand; that this picture of what was happening to her is what happens in our mind when we are desperate to find the answer or solution because we need it, immediately. We need to find it in our mind, immediately. This situation is grave, so we start searching and we run to one direction in our mind and we dont find the help; so then we go to the opposite direction, cant find the help. So you keep running back and forth, back and forth. And while she was doing that the Merciful G-d was working, too, and He caused a water well to spring up in dry land in the desert. Isnt this beautiful? Yes, but look where is sprang up.

G-d, Himself, has summoned the students of Imam W. Deen Mohammed

Say, The Imam is giving us a sermon. You bet I am! And you are summoned. Yes sir, Ive gotten a message that you have received not only a sermon but also a summons. So watch, it you are under law. And in truth, you who came answering my invitation to be my students, especially during this Ramadan Session, its as though G-d summoned you. So you have to appear in my chamber. Now the chamber is where the public cannot hear what is being said to you. And He didnt call you because you were guilty of

something. He called you because you havent received your inheritance. Jacob has robbed you of your inheritance and also your birth rights. But it wasnt to last forever. No, it was not to last forever. The Great G-d is a G-d of justice and mercy.

Ismail: Water sprang up at his heel

Yes, this is how the story, the tradition is given. It says a little bird came and pecked in a spot. And as it pecked in that spot water began to ooze up to the surface; and the water sprang forth and she was able to get water for her child. Where did the water appear? At the heel of Ismail, at the babys heel. She had put the baby down on the desert and she had run desperately trying to find help, trying to find where is there water for my thirsting child. And she happened to look where she left him while she was panicking and she saw water coming up at his heels from the ground. So she went there and she was able to get water. Now, thats the beginning of what? Thats the beginning of the development of barren area. The Arabs see that as the beginning of their life as a people. They became the people of the desert, the children of Ismail, called Ishmael in the Bible; the children of Ishmael. So they are the children of Ishmael. They are the children of Abraham, the father of Ishmael. And they are the children of Hagar, the wife of Abraham who gave birth to Ishmael. So, they are the children of Hagar, also.

The Arabic language of the Quran was really like a rebirth of the Arabs

So why did this white man over here call us-- the religious establishment, not all of them; but enough to get it out to uscall us the children of Hagar? Because they know they did not go looking for blacks to bring here for slave labor among Christians. They didnt go to Christian Ethiopia to get slaves. They know that most of the slaves they brought here came from Muslim lands. They know that! And that is why they called us the children of Hagar. They were saying, Yeah, you are the ones that were with those Arabs, Muslims that were with those Arabs! And some of us were actually called Arabs. Well you can be from Africa or India. But if you speak Arabic, according to the Prophets teachings, you can classify yourself as an Arab. So he said anyone who speaks Arabic is an Arab. Thats the saying of our Prophet. And arent people named, also, by the language they speak? Spanish, Spanish people. The language of Spanish, Spanish people. English, English language, English people. So Arabic language, Arab people. And dont think that all of those who are under those classifications, like the English people. are really having the same place of origination. No, a lot of those people that they call English, now, didnt come from England. They originated from different places; from Ireland and other places. But, once they become citizens of England, they are English. So once you become an Arabic speaking personand this is really stronger than this logic that I am working with right now. The logic for understanding what the Prophet said is much stronger than that; because were not only speaking the language of Arabs. We are speaking the language of the Quran that actually upgraded the language of the Arabs. It upgraded it in more than one way. It gave them wisdom for cultural development, for developing their life as a people, or as an order, a governmental order. It gave them everything. So this is really like the rebirth of the Arabs. It was a rebirth, really. In fact, actually, it was a rebirth for the Arabs. Quranic language was rebirth, a cultural rebirth, for the Arabs, as well as enlightenment for them; revelation and enlightenment. So we should understand that.

Water springing up at the heel of Ishmael meant son of Abraham is going to be spiritually balanced

Okay, so they called us Hagars children. So let me continue with the son of Abraham, peace be on them, the prophet and his son. Water sprang up at his heels. What does the heel mean? What do you rest on when you stand up? Your heels, dont you? You rest on your heels. So, the water springing up at his heels meant spiritual balance. Here is a son that G-d is giving Abraham who is going to be spiritually balanced. Abraham needed help from somebody like that Why? Because he was motivated by reason more than by soul or spirituality. That is why he asked certain questions of G-d like, G-d, tell me how the dead are going to be raised. 18 When Ismail grew up nobody had to explain to Ismail how the dead would be raised, because he had already been dead and G-d raised him up from the dead ,spiritually; gave him spiritual balance.

We died twice, as mortals and then as thinkers

And isnt that what Allah said? And from the dead He brings forth the living. And He brings the living out of the dead. And that is what He has done for us. He brought the living out of the dead and now Hes bringing the dead out of the living. We died twice, didnt we? We died as mortals and then we died as thinkers and we had to reject the dead matter that was in our thinking, before. That is taking the dead out of the living, isnt it? 19 Praise be to Allah.

The feet have more psychic awareness that any other body part

So Ismail is a great sign, especially water coming up in a dead desert place at his heel. Now you know most of the leaders or thinkers in the religion, traditionally, they see that occurrence as the beginning of peoples awareness and travel to that spot for water, but not for just ordinary water, for water seen as part of the ritual, or part of the rites of hajj, the Zam Zam well. That brings me to another important focus for us during these sessions at the end of the session, really. And that is the saying of G-d, Allah, in the Quran that the righteous who remain faithful, steadfast, and dutiful, there is prepared for them gardens underneath under which rivers flow.20 And we mentioned in the session before four rivers, didnt we? Two on the earth and two in the, sky or the heavens. Now from the sky rain descends and the river is underneath. What is that saying to us? That this is activity in the psyche. The psyche is thought to be here (mind) but where is its source? Psychic power, where is its source? It is in the feet, not in the head. The feet have more psychic awareness than any other part of the body. The feet see in the dark better than our eyes.

Two rivers: The river of light and the river of purity

So the two rivers in the heavens, the river of light and purity. G-d says of purity we have been given already, it is not that He wants to burden you but He wants that you be purified.22 So that is what Allah tells us to position us to enjoy obeying Him, even when it is difficult. And the real true believer, when were doing something for Allah, we know He wants us to do it. It could be so heavy on the muscle or painful for the body or whatever. We are not thinking about pain. Allah just takes the pain away from us and makes us unconscious of the difficulty in pain. He takes it away from us and all we are doing is enjoying doing what Allah wants.

It was not easy for those brothers to carry three hundred papers around. That is a lot of papers to be carrying around. But for the love of Allah, believing with their hearts, soul and mind that what they were doing is what Allah wanted and that the results would be big and good for the following of the Honorable Elijah Mohammed or the Nation of Islam, we did not pay any attention to drudgery or difficulties. We were not even aware of it. I have seen brothers standing on post in the snow in February outside the armory and standing there and Im telling you they had the expression on their faces like they were standing in a warm plush palace or something.

St. Basil influenced the expression of Christianity
        through pagan concepts.

You know we began with dhikrs, but I have a knot here and I had to, yesterday, when I got home, it came to my mind that I left some important matters hanging. My thought was taken off of those things. I went to something else and I brought that information back yesterday. So I did catch those things that were hanging and filled in yesterday. And today, again, I mentioned St Basil and I didnt complete it. My thoughts went to something else. However, I did give this, though in the previous session, it didnt come out in fullness.

What he (St. Basil) said was, Let us take what the pagans have in practice and put in it our principles. So here is the leader of the Christians at that time or at least a strong influential leader of the Christians at that time inviting the church or the leadership to express Christianity through pagan physical concepts. I emphasize physical concepts because dont think the pagans were fools. They were learned people. They just didnt have the right idea of G-d; but they were very learned people. They had high cultures and civilizations but without the purity that Allah wants us to have it in. And it is mentioned in the Quran that some of these nations that have passed away had achieved more than you. 23 It was bigger and more powerful than you. This is in the Quran.

So St. Basil was the one who sanctioned or gave the freedom to Christianity to use paganism and its outer expression, but used animate, old paganism with Christian spirit and principles; gave life to dead pictures; put Christian spirit and messages in those images. So you know you dont have an image that is called Baccus. That was one of the gods they put in physical picture, or Apollo. You will not go in a church and see those by name. You will see saints and rulers and even Jesus Christ and I dont even like to do or mention this. But you will see them pretending to picture or represent him and hes in the form of a material body. They have given him a material body and put a crown on his head of thorns that looks like some of the crowns that the Roman Caesar rulers wore. But it is not a crown for decoration. It is punishment. It has little spikes and it is crushed into his head and he is bleeding, showing that they are penetrating his flesh and blood is dripping down from them. Then they have a bloody scene, too, where he is pierced through the heart, they say, with a spear. They have all that and then some pictures show blood dripping from the nails. They have his feet nailed, one upon the other, a foot upon foot and you can see little bits of red blood dripping from that puncture wound, also.

So this is a sad and bloody scene, a savage scene. I call it savagery and I guess it is intended to say that these people were not really human or humanly cultured or refined. They were savages who did this to Christ. So all those statues in the church that is from the culture of the pagans. It was approved by their leaders for them to bring that into the church. That is saying that Jesus Christ did not do that. He did not give them images like that.

Jesus showed himself as the transfiguration of light
Ismail a lamb was shown so he was not sacrificed

What Jesus Christ wanted them to show the common people, it is too much for the common people to grasp or find by themselves. When he wanted to show his disciples, his companions, like those companions of the Prophet, meaning those who represented the leadership close to the Prophet and getting the best of instructions and knowledge, etc. from them; when Jesus Christ, according to the Gospel, the Bible, wanted to show them himself what does the Bible say he did? 24 He took them up in a mountain and when he got up there the picture, like Ismail, vanished and G-d imposed over that the picture of a lamb to give instructions to Abraham that you dont have to sacrifice your son.25 But
understand the meanings to sacrifice a sheep as a ritual that holds the light and understanding for the sacrificing of your son or the killing of your son as a sacred act or sacrifice.

Christ Jesus, according to the Gospel, took them up in the mountain and by some divine stroke or action he, as they saw him in body, disappeared, vanished, and they saw light instead of him; and in the Bible it says it was the light of Moses and Elijah. Am I right? Those who are more familiar with the Bible you can correct me if I go wrong. So it was not their bodies. They did not see the bodies of Moses and Elijah, but they saw only light, he light of Moses and Elijah.

Jesus light was the light of Moses and Elijah

So the light of Jesus Christ according to the Bible is the light of Moses and Elijah. That is the way he wanted his students, his disciples, to see him, not in physical form but in the form of the light of revelation; that his light or his body is a body of light and that body can best be seen and understood if you see it as the light that G-d put into Moses and the light that G-d put into Elijah. And somewhere in the Bible they asked the Prophet John, Are you Elijah? 26 It is the same kind of logic, perception and reasoning. They asked the Prophet John, are you that prophet? And the explanation is in the Bible, meaning Elijah.

So the people who were really knowledgeable among the following in the disciples they did not see physical bodies. They saw John and asked, Who is this? Is he coming in fulfillment of the word of G-d, the revelation? Who is he? So the way he was conducting his mission they thought that maybe this is Elijah. So they asked, Are you that prophet?

A liberator coming to take off the burden and yoke of slavery

Muhammad existed in scripture before he was ever existing as a physical person on earth; so did Jesus Christ; so did all the major Prophets or servants of G-d. 27, 28, 29, 30 Allah says he is the one mentioned in the Torah and in the Gospel; 31, 32 and then gives words describing him. And I found the very words that are referred to in the Bible. I told you I studied the Bible. I read it once from Genesis to Revelation without studying it; and then I read it the second time and carried out really what I wanted to do the first time. The language gives us the picture of a liberator coming to take the bonds of burden and yoke of slavery off of the people. This is in the Quran and the same language is in the Bible. So that clearly supports what I am saying, that Muhammad, the Prophet, was in the Bible, in scripture that came before G-d materialized him on the planet earth. And by materializing I mean gave him rebirth, enlightened him and raised his stature high in the heavens.

Honey the product of the labor of the bees.

Im going to have to say something about honey just a little bit. Honey is the product or fruit of the labor of the bees. And Allah mentions it in the Quran as the river of honey.33 I already gave you that one, but more importantly, He says that it is beneficial or medicinal as a medicine for healing.34 Now what you will find in the world, I mean the Islamic world, is only that. They say, Eat honey. It is in the Quran and G-d says it has healing power or properties. True, but when you study the bee and the work that produced that product that is when you get the higher understanding. Bees, especially the queen, those big bees you see them flying and they look like an over loaded helicopter ;and it makes you wonder how that heavy body can get about so easily on the air with those little short wings that look like very thin, see through paper. And they are just carrying that heavy body. It looks like the wings are terribly weighted down. A beautiful, beautiful sign of G-ds word. You know what all the words in the Quran are called? Aayaats, all the expressions are called Ayaats. An expression is called Ayat, sentences, Ayaats. And Allah says in the heavens and in the earth as well as in your selves are ayaats. 35 He uses the same term, the same expression. So if we have ayaat in the Quran then what are these ayaats? It is revelation from G-d. It is His communication, directly from Him through the medium of the angel, Jibril, to a man, a human, Muhammad, and then to us from the human who received it.

So these are ayaats or ayat and he says they are in us, too. Everything in us, everywhere are ayaats and it is translated so that you dont confuse this picture of communication with the Quran. It is changed by the translators where they say signs. But the word used in the Quran is the same word used for the expression in the Quran from G-d, ayaat. It is the same word, exactly. When Allah says there are signs in us He does not say signs. That is a different word in Arabic. He said the same thing He said for the Quran, ayaats.

Read My signs in creation, beneath the surface

And what was the first thing He told Muhammad? He said, Read. 36 Read what, Lord? You did not give me anything to read, yet? Creation. Now you got it from Elijahs son. He told Muhammad, Read, and He had not given him anything to read yet. But He said read not in the name of Allah, read in the name of your Lord Who created. So what was Allah telling Muhammad to do? Read My signs in creation, in the heavens, the earth and also in you. And when Muhammad finally understood that G-d was saying read deep, beneath the surface, read into the matter and its nature and construction, etc., he understood that then he was ready to get Allahs voice.

So Allah continued after He said read, iqraa. The time between iqraa, read, first verse and iqraa, read, the next verse in the history of mankind on this earth that could have been maybe a thousand or two thousand years. G-d is not only communicating to Muhammad, He is giving him the understanding of His Will in the history of civilization, or human society; that, It started, Muhammad, with them reading My creation. That is how they were able to get their civilization started, or their life as a civilized order on this planet earth. It began with them reading into My creation or getting insights into My creation for their benefit and plan on earth. And then you must understand, Muhammad, that when they started doing that it gave them the help they needed to establish themselves as a social order. This is the making of My man.

Man is from alaq, blood adhering

He says man is from alaq, blood adhering. Now this is a physical picture of the mortal body. How it is brought from sperm to blood and finally a fetus lump, to finally, a complete person? So Allah gives us those steps and pictures but this is not talking about a single individual and it is not talking about mortal flesh. It is talking about the process that brought about the establishment of an intelligent social order; that you first had to form bonds and it was in a fluid state. You had not yet been able to establish a structural state or a material picture. This was all in your mind and in your heart. So this is the plan that is conceived in the heart and mind of those who read into or got insights from G-ds creation, blood adhering.
And then it is your social interest in one another as a social unit, as a family. Family is not just for the private home. It is also the family of mankind, or the family of people who bond together for a particular important plan that they want to develop. Companies, they call those who are at the top of the company working together a family. Right? That is what they call each other. So this is what you have to understand.

Muhammad the Prophet finally understood what G-d was communicating to him. Now this communication, if you are understanding what I am saying, this message is not only a communication for him to recall and recite, but this is also an education. This is a teaching process. Allah is teaching or educating His servant at the same time. But for us it is just a recording. For us who want the understanding and want to find logic and want to know how to use this in our practical life and we are faithful Allah blesses us with our efforts to know more and He brings out to us what He brought out to Muhammad. And that is why Allah says in the Quran that it is Allah, G-d, Who teaches you all.37 Kum is the Arabic word for you plural, not just the Prophet. Allah revealed it to the Prophet and educated him as He was revealing it to him, prepared him to be our teacher. But the same process will be repeated. If any of us qualify for G-ds mercy it is repeated in our life.

So the pure and noble followers of the Prophet, both male and female, Aisha and others not even named in the tradition, may G-d be pleased with them, they qualified eventually. They became pure at heart and undamaged as believers or people of faith and Allah blessed their minds and hearts to open up and receive the insights, that which is within, deep in the language, to bring it out so they, too, would have the pure sciences. Praise be to Allah. That happened and it is happening now not just for us. If there are true believers and there are in any place, eventually, it happens for those people.

I mentioned dhikr. We want to go back to it. Allah says He gives without counting. 38 We must have been counting when the Quran was coming to Muhammad. If we were not counting Allah would not have said He gives without counting. And from the knowledge I have of the early following of Muhammad the Prophets dhikr started with him. Even in his time they did dhikrs. But they did not use beads, rosaries, etc. That is a later thing that came into the Muslim rituals that is from Catholicism, Buddhism, and some other religions. It was not something innate or born with Al Islam as the Prophet gave it to us.

Let us talk about dhikr on the fingers. There is more than one way to do dhikrs. You can do it by reciting the 99 attributes of Allah and completing it with Allahu Akbar. But the most common way of doing dhikr is not to recite all the names of Allah, but just to say, Subhanal laah, glorify G-d, and you glorify Him 33 times. And then you praise Him 33 times, Al hamdu lil laah. And then you say, G-d is bigger, or G-d is greater, 33 times, Allahu Akbar. And when you finish 33 times then you go to another finger. You dont stop on the little finger like you do for the first two readings or recitings. The first two you stop on the little finger and start back on the little finger again. But when you say, Allahu Akbar 33 times you go from the little finger for the 100th time to the next finger and you stop right in the base or the first joint in the base of that finger; and you say, Allahu Akbar and you have finished the dhikr.

  Dhikr means a thinking process

But you have to go through these fingers twice. Thirty three takes you through these fingers twice and what part of the hand is carrying you through these fingers? The thumb. What do they say with the expression in English? By the rule of thumb. And what did they do in the arena of the Caesar where the gladiators were fighting if one was real good and they thought his value was too much to have the victor kill him? They had to refer it to the Caesar and he would refer it to the audience. He would want a response from them. Should we let this man be killed or not? And if the audience approved the gladiator being killed Caesar would take his thumb and turn it down. That meant, We have ruled that he be killed. By the rule of thumb.

Thumb represents the logical mind working to find a conclusion

So when you are thinking, dhikr means a thinking process, the process of trying to arrive at understanding by thinking. So if the thumb is doing that then what is that? That is the conscious mind. It is working to find the conclusion for whatever the matter is. You want to reach the logical conclusion. So you are working to arrive at the logical conclusion. This is a ritual, practice, dhikr as I am explaining it now. So you say, Subhanal laah and you always start at the base. Right? And there are three steps up. Right?

Now look at you hand if you have never done it. Even if you have done it look at it again. Hold your finger and look at the base. Can you see lines going straight up and down? Go to the next joint. Do you see lines going straight up and down? Come to the third joint, the tips of your finger, the last joint. When you look at it quickly what form do you see the lines taking? Circular, okay. So you go from the base one step. Then you go two steps to the next joint. Then the third step shows you a circular pattern. So if you have two standings the Prophet said have faith and there after be upright. It means stand straight up, be upright. 39 If you can have two standings the third standing will free you. The circle means you are free.
So you start with the baby nature and you go up for one standing, then you go up for another standing. After the second standing, if you are going, following the plan of G-d for your search and understanding, you should be spiritually free. This is spiritual life. But you are spiritually free but not complete.

And Christ is said to have spoken in the cradle as a baby. 40 Right? But he was not yet freed as G-d wanted him. In fact, he had to live one life and leave and go up to heaven. And he had to return. Why does he have to return? Because in the Bible he says to his disciples after he had been killed and came from the physical earth and they saw him as a gardener. ..41 They came to approach him and he said, Touch me not. I have not ascended. 42 It means, Im not ready for you to bring me into your own life. Think about it. Im not approved for that, yet. So touch me not.

The same language is used for Mary, And no man touched me.43 And the same is used for the Quran, None can touch it but the purified ones. 44 So touch means more than what the language appears to be on the surface. When you touch something it registers on your feelings and usually the desire to touch is coming from the heart. You say, Come here. Dont greet me way back there. I have not seen you in a long time and you are getting ready to leave again. Come here, boy, and let me hug you. You have to touch. So touch is a powerful communication and especially when G-d is involved. It concerns what G-d wants for us or what kind of relationship that He wants, Himself, with His devoted servants. He said, Touch me not I have not ascended. So the Gospel as it is from Jesus Christ by this reasoning is not supposed to be taken into your feelings and into your heart. It is for you to study, not to take it into your feelings, into your heart, because if it does, it will make a crazy communication to believers. Now, I know it and the evidence is all around. Look how long it took the efforts of free thinkers to bring the church down from the sky so that it could deal with the practical matters of human life down here on earth. They denied the women their freedom and their rights; reated them as though they had no souls. In fact, that is what they said.

Male and female from the same soul

They said, The female has no soul. That is why Allah said in the Quran that He created the male and the female from the same soul;45 because the religious Christian order had taken the position that the female was not a soul, just flesh. So if you were not special you did not receive education. And if you were female you did not receive education. That was under the Christian rule for a long time. It was only broken by Martin Luther. I guess it was being broken all the time, but his leadership is what ended it and freed the free thinkers to think on their own, or brought about freedom of religion and the Protestant movement; and a different way of looking at church authority and finally to what we have today.

 Kabah Means tying things together

So it is very important for us to tie things together. Kabah means tying things together. The very word means making or bringing about the right connections. If you are going to understand a piece of knowledge that is put in a book form, writing, or whatever, you cant just read that. You have to read it, recognizing important connections. The idea has a logical progression. The thought, the focus, or the central theme, has a logical unfolding, doesnt it? So if you are not aware of these connections you will read something but you do not know anything. You read the book but you did not get anything. In fact, if somebody asked you what you read you can hardly give them one complete sentence from that book. It is the same for the Quran, for G-ds word.

Steps to freedom in Islam are Three
Steps to freedom in Christianity are Five

Is this in the Bible what we are doing here? Is there any reference in the Bible that I can bring to this? Step one, step two, step three, free? Yes. But it is not one, two, three. It is one, two, three, four, five. So here is the Islamic way, distinguishing itself from the way that was before it, with the Christians. For them the fifth frees you, i.e., one, two, three, four, five. And they are the most judgmental people you will find on the earth. Am I right or wrong for you who know and study? You know Im right. The ruling order of Christians is the most judgmental order on the planet earth.

They dont want to listen to a thing you have to say. They are getting much better. Reality is forcing them to get better but they have been a very stubborn and judgmental people. They judge everybody else as heathens, even Muslims as heathens. Do you know for most of the history of the Christian and Muslim relations they were calling Muslims heathens? And now they are on the Muslims for calling them kafirs. The Muslims should say, You called us worst than that. You called us heathen, savages, people with a savage mind. They are very judgmental. Talk to preachers. They dont want to listen to anything you have to say. They are afraid to listen. And that tells me you fear that what you have is not strong enough to stand up to what we have.

Birds flying around symbolize spiritual freedom

On the first day G-d did this. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th day the birds are flying in the open skies. That is the freedom. That says freedom day. You know the expression, Free as a bird? You dont get free until you fly. And the open sky, the canopy, it appears to be round, doesnt it? A dome and the birds flying around in it. So doesnt it give you a circular picture? Birds flying around in it, the spiritual freedom. So spiritual freedom is on the fifth step, not the third step. So what is that saying? It is saying they used their own minds and studied and debated the truth of Jesus Christs Gospel, especially concerning essential concepts as man as a mortal, G-d; whether Jesus Chris is both a mortal, G-d, and divine, or whether he is mortal only; or whether we should see him just as a divine. That is exactly what the Gnostic order did. They debated this for how many centuries? I know for more than one century, about 2 or 3 centuries. That is a long time debating. So that means they had real trouble getting the leaders to agree on that. It took them centuries. Look how many died so the original rebuffers or protesters died one after another, generation after generation, before, finally, they established it as a rule the way it is in the Bible, New Testament now, about Jesus, peace be on him. The Nicene Council, is that what they called it The highest level of them engaged themselves for 2 or 3 centuries, debating and arguing, before they finally got enough material might to make a king or ruler so small until he said, You clergy, this is the way it is going to be whether you like it or not. Here is King James version. You want to go to jail, just teach something different.

In Islam, you cannot be freed by five senses

I am not joking. That is the way it was. So why is three for us so important? You cannot be free by five senses. Human tools cannot work freedom for us. That freedom will be temporary. That freedom will be destroyed, eventually. Now the American people we have freedom, dont we, freedom of religion, right? Look at the culture. Society and life of the people right now in America hasnt it failed? At one time we were enjoying a sense of freedom, but now the sense of freedom does not exist. You can only think free. You are free to think, but youre not free to live life that you want in this world. I do not say that life that Allah revealed. You are not even free to live the life you want.

So the life that seems to be open to the population is the life of immorality, indecency, corruption. That is what appears to be open to the population and that is what the most numbers are in or are giving themselves to, a life of indecency, a life of corruption. So it has not produced for Christian civilization. The good life has not materialized for Christian civilization. In looks like it is getting worse and worse now. It is the worst of any time in the history of this culture. And it is so bad that the population cannot even produce a son to impress us as a president.

Obama is the most impressive figure that we have in this country today

The most impressive figure we have right now is one from Africa, not a native from this country. That is Obama. Now they may have some more but I look at how the media is trying to make them look like they are something, like they are worthy of consideration for presidency of the United States. But when I see them I see somebody who is dead. A leader is not supposed to be dead. A leader is not supposed to be just regular like an ordinary person, like a high school teacher, or a college professor coming across as a businessman who has a clothing store or something. His mind should be much broader than that. And his spirit should communicate that to us, that, I do not have a quarter of the American life as my interest. I have 360 degrees full circle as my interest. Four quarters as my interest. Thats what I want to see.

I want to see you registering to us that you register the interest of the whole of the people of America, all the citizens, i.e., the poor, those who have different religions. You have to make it clear to us that you have something to say about the rich, too, to assist them and to make their life better without harming mine, unjustly. And you do not see people like that any more.

Roosevelt was a man like that who was burdened by war. There were many other, but I am just naming a few that I am more acquainted with, like Abraham and Ismail. Roosevelt and his wife were that kind of combination, but I do not see that in them. Some of us do not like the Republicans, but General Eisenhower was that kind of a person. He reached everybody. In fact, their slogan was, I love Ike, because he was such a likable person. He registered the full interests of the American people. And he was a military man. But he registered the full interests of the American people.

Step 1 first level Mortal body
Step 2 second level Rational body
Step 3 third level spiritual enlightenment.

So this five is not really freed. The five has proven to be insufficient. It cannot deliver us. It cannot bring us freedom. So know that when they say the fifth and birds flying into heaven they are not talking about material freedom or material science. They are talking about spiritual science. And the same five senses that bring us into this world to live a practical life here, the same five senses should be able to liberate us and bring us to a higher world, to the real world. These five senses can do that but they cannot work unless you do them step-by-step from the essence, spirit, spirit of your pure and original essence. It has to be pressing upon your mind that, I need to deliver myself from this limited perception of truth and reality. And you start in the base of the original nature and you go 1,2, 3. And you are using your five senses, but they are, because this is the rule in your five senses, the thumb. You are using your five senses but this is the 5th one. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. You are using the 5th one but you are going through a spiritual pattern. You are following a spiritual pattern that begins in your original nature and remains up right from the first level of your nature up to the second, which is the mortal body, the second level, the rational body.

And if you go from the mortal body to the rational body with your intelligence, this is the fifth. It will bring you to a third and the third with be spiritual enlightenment or freedom, but that is not enough. You were working with the mortal body. You started with the mortal body, that is the baby, the baby finger, and that is the baby life, the mortal life. So you come to the next one which is the rational body, the rational thoughts and you start in the base of your rational thoughts, but you came from your mortal body. So you now have been freed. You have the knowledge of your mortal body and how it should live with your rational mind, your reasoning. So now you have freed yourself from the mortal body. Now you have to take that knowledge and apply it to the base of your rational life as you have it and correct it by what you receive from this exercise. So now I am correcting my thoughts and I correct it in my mortal senses. I correct it in my rational senses, and then I correct it in my spiritual senses, because this was a baby who is freed. Now I want to go higher than the baby, so now you come to a third. Right? And this third is very difficult because now I want to understand how is man inspired by G-d. I want to know something about the Holy Spirit. I need to know something rational and practical about the Holy Spirit. It is a burden on my mind. I have not been educated enough.

So now you apply the knowledge that you got from this process and from this process, from this exercise and from that exercise now you apply it to the spiritual and you start in the base, again, and you go from the spiritual in the mortal to the spiritual in the logic or the rational thought and then you go to the spiritual, again. Right? So spiritual one time, from the base, from mortal to spiritual, one time. From mortal to spiritual two times, from mortal to spiritual, three times. Then what you have gained from here of insight and understanding you apply it to your judgment or your decision making or to your logic. You arrived at a logic. So you want to apply it to that, too. But a decision, your decision based upon logic, that is what this process is. It is a process to find logic.

So you have found the logic and you started in the base of it and you questioned your logic and you went from the form of your logic to the reasoning to arrive at a conclusion that satisfies you in your logic and then you come to what you believe to be freedom again. You think you are comfortable, you are free, again. But you now take what you have gotten. You have had a mind that is questioning and making judgments, so you bring now the insight from this process, that last process, where you examine your logic and you came to a freedom. You felt, This logic looks good and acceptable. Now you apply it to your mind that makes judgments and you go through it, too.

And now you have a rebirth for your mind that was one time. The new mind now is going to question everything it did before and question it with the new mind. It has circles, too, up here that freed itself with the exercises of mind and you go through it one more time with the new mind. Once you go through it with the new mind and then with the logic, you apply the logic to the new mind and obviously, the logic took the test because it goes to the baby finger again; and it goes through it once and comes to the rational mind and it stops at the base.

That tells us that the mortal now has the mind that it needs to be free in the world. You dont need to go further. The mortal mind has the mind now to be free. And you apply this to the mortal mind. You do not apply it to your reasoning. No, keep your reasoning out of it. It is the new mind that Allah gave you. You apply it to your mortal life and you put it in the foundation of your thinking and rational mind, your thinking for rational understanding. You put it in the base of it; give it to the mortal body. Do not trust it with the mind that is trying to free itself. You are already free. When you are reborn Allah has given you the second life, you are already free. So you stop right there. And this finger on this hand, that is the finger you put a ring on, isnt it? Praise be to Allah.

Allah will bless you if you are sincere and pure in heart

So this is insight into dhikr. Remember what I said, first ,because that is to caution you and disposition you to be successful. Ritual is not enough for Muslims, even the ritual of dhikr. So I cautioned you before. I told you, Allah is the One Who gives without counting. So this dhikr is not enough for us. We first meet the Quran, then we need Muhammad, the Prophet; and then we need to think on our own. And that is what you are doing when you are doing this. You are thinking on your own and Allah will bless you if you are sincere and pure in heart.

Bani simply means a structure that has been logically raised up. They speak of raising up a building, dont they? And you can use the same word to mean tear it down. Right? Raise it to the ground. The same word is raise it up, raise it to the ground, a reversal.

 Ismail is spiritual balance
Abraham was rationally inclined

We are called the children of Hagar and Abrahams son, Ismail, is a picture of a spiritual balance. And I was saying that Abraham needed his son to help him structure the house, because Abraham tended to be inclined toward the rational more than the spiritual. He was so much inclined towards the rational because he saw the great future production for people who devote themselves to reason and to the rational for the material construction of the world. He knew how important that was.

So it really bothered him that, Now, I have a son and this son is devoted to the spiritual nature and I know G-d wants me to do what Im doing. G-d wants me to build a society under Him, a world under Him and I am rational. We have to deal with the rational and material reality. And this son of mine he may cause a problem. If he gets too any people into his spiritual mode we will have difficulty building a material society, an industrial world. G-d, this is my son and my thinking is telling me You want me to sacrifice him. I love him. This is my child. Lord, this is my child. Please, what am I going to do? Allah would not speak to him.

So he went and got the situation and got the knife. I believe it was a shining sword, illuminated sword. And he got this illuminated sword and he was getting ready to kill his child and G-d said, Do it not. You have already completed your commitment to Me. Your willingness to sacrifice him for My pleasure is enough. Instead of sacrificing him get that little innocent lamb, that sheep and slaughter him with that knife, sword blade you have. And when you kill it take all the stinky stuff out of him. Wash it up real good and then put it on the fire. And cook it and let a sweet savor as steam and smoke go up to the heavens. Then serve it to the poor and you to eat from it, Abraham.

So we have that ritual every 10th day of the Hajj, dont we, where we make our slaughter, our halal , our sacrificial animal? And the best animal to have for the occasion is a lamb. You can have a cow, camel. They eat a lot of different kind of meats and they sacrifice them, too, over there. But the best is the lamb because it is the most peaceful of all of them.

What a beautiful story, Im telling you, the scene where he is tormented in anguish, in agony and G-d relieves him by showing him what to do. Do you know the sheep and goat, too, these are the most sure footed of all animals. They can go up on ridges and stand on a little small stone and hold themselves right there; climb up on mountains and stand on real small ridges. So G-d removes from Abrahams vision his son and by some kind of activity in his mind there is an illusion and the son is replaced by the sight of a lamb. And by him seeing that in a day vision, he reasoned that G-d is saying, No, dont kill your son, kill a lamb. Your son is innocent, innocent as a lamb.

Kill the tendency to tolerate abuses

So dont kill him, kill a lamb. Kill this tendency in your house, or in your following, to tolerate abuses and be eaten by other animals and hunted by other animals, slaughtered by other animals. Get that out of your people. Its an innocence this passive way of theirs. It is innocent, but Abraham you are right. It is a problem for the work of establishing the new world under G-d. So tell them that this nature in them is to be digested by their minds and protected by their intelligence and their faith. Dont let your life become the life of sheep. But benefit from the life of the sheep by digesting the knowledge and wisdom. The sheep is peaceful and you are to be peaceful in accord with your best nature, your Muslim nature. The sheep likes to be with each other and you should be close to each other like the sheep. And the sheep does not like to engage in arguments and fighting. I want you to be like that, too.

But if I command you to kill I want you to stop being a sheep and be a man on the battlefront. So Abraham, teach them My signs that I put in the sheep. And from the sheep you get wool and you can take the wool and protect yourself from the cold of night or winter. So you be like that. You produce that which will help the people, keep them warm on cold nights or in the winter. You see all the beautiful signs? And the sheep is well balanced, like Ismail. So tell them not only your son, but they should all be well balanced, spiritually. Dont be too heavy on the left. Dont be too heavy on the right. Dont be too heavy forward. Dont be too heavy backward. But find the just mean for balance. Be hanifa, upright, erect, not inclined to go off from the balance, spiritually balanced.

A person who is spiritually balanced will stay rational. It is only the person who goes to spiritual extremes in one direction but not respecting the whole situation, not circumspect, not respecting the whole situation all around. So they are going off on a tangent from the mean or from the balance or from the plummet line. You preachers out there, youre leaving the plummet line and going to extremes. And wasnt it G-d, according to the Bible, Who ordered the plummet and the plummet line? Yes.

Somebody may say, When he starts saying that the Bible has a continuous stream of purity in it from Genesis to Revelation, he loses me. That is the poison book. With all this that G-d has shown me in the Bible I cannot disrespect that book. I would be a sinner to disrespect it and an ignorant person to disrespect it.

If there comes a storm and the storm blows trash and dirt and the water rises so high that dirty, muddy water comes into the masjid under the masjid door are you going to throw the masjid away? You should clean the masjid up and make your salat. That is what Muhammad was guided to do by G-d; not go and destroy churches and condemn the Christian people and prevent them from practicing their religion under his order or in the land of the Muslims. He did not prevent them. He saw the corruption. He saw the filth and there is filth in the Bible that is very embarrassing. But that was produced for the pagans who were a people who were vulgar; educated, but at the same time their fun was vulgarity, sexual indecency and vulgar display of their sexual interest. And they were a people who prided themselves in being powerful as an army. So that instinct and that spirit in them to fight and kill was so strong and they took such pride in it that their sport was to put fighters against each other and actually fight to the death. There is much I have to say on that but we do not want to waste time. It is not for this session.

Gardens underneath where rivers flow, the psychic urges

The psyche, going back to the psyche. Gardens underneath where rivers flow, the psychic urges. Now these rivers flow underneath at our feet because underneath is that that we stand upon, the ground. Our feet touch the ground. Right? So it is saying underneath your feet. And where is the most sensitive part of your feet? You are standing on it, the most sensitive part of the feet, and underneath the soul, sole of your feet, from underneath is where rivers flow. So the spiritual sensitivity. In the church when they get real worked up what starts moving, first? The feet. And they say, Oh Lordy. So the feet received it before the head did and it made the feet have to express that something is happening in my soul. And after a while the whole body gets it. They have to stand up and start jumping around. But, it started way down there. That water starts rising way down there. Gardens underneath which Rivers flow. Praise be to Allah.

The psyche is not the rational mind. Youre not thinking how to work this out that the preacher is saying. You are responding with your spirit. You are responding with your human sensitivities. You are responding to what he is saying and through that particular medium youre taken over, you are overcome with joy. So that nature is in all of us. Even in the coldest of us the nature is there. You just have to bring it out. Sometimes it is not a communication of joy that brings it out. It is a communication of pain. You put enough pain on that hard guy that never responds emotionally he will break down emotionally, saying, That is enough! My G-d, leave me alone! Leave me alone! Stop, if you have any sense! You have no mercy! Stop please! I told You to stop! He panics, too. He gets hysterical, too. You just have to find a way to reach him.

We all are Bilal means were sensitive

So when they spoke down to Bilal in the presence of the Prophet, thinking he is a black and inferior, he said, We all our Bilal, that nature that you are criticizing in him. Yes, he is spiritual. He is not as rational as we are. Hes not devoted to the rational like we are. He loves the spiritual but we all are Bilal. That is a property of human creation or of human nature and it is not just in blacks. It is in all of us.

Poor express their soul not the rational mind. The world
      burdens and tortures their soul

And the proof of it is you can go to some white religious orders or establishment, especially the poor people, and they have so much pain on them theres not too much they can express from the rational mind. Their soul is what is bothered. The world burdens and tortures their soul. So the message comes to them of joy from G-d, that He is a G-d of justice and He loves me and He wants me to have His mercy and His communication, His revelation and wants me to have a good life and has promised me paradise. And down here I cannot even move into certain areas and not be stoned or killed. I am talking about the early times. Right now maybe it will happen.

A person like that they are more expressive outwardly because their soul is so burdened and when relief comes to them for their soul they are so happy and there is at least G-d Who is not seeing me like this ugly world is seeing me. So that brings them great joy. The Prophet knew all of that and he said we all are Bilal. There is much to say about that but we wont spend more time there.

Gardens underneath which rivers flow, speaking of the spiritual urges that appear below in the construction of the human form before it comes up here to the rational mind. And these rivers are two and we already discussed the two rivers. Also, in the Quran Allah tells us about the rivers, that one is a river of honey.33 Now didnt the Christian world tell us that in the heaven or paradise were going to have milk and honey? Yes. Allah mentions the river of honey. Honey is sweet, isnt it? But if I had enough time which I may do it, I may have enough time for me to discuss with you or to share with you the words, the beautiful meanings in that particular focus or on that particular substance we call honey, rivers of honey. You know there is a chapter in the Quran called the bee. Some of these animals are so important Allah devoted long passages to it and it became a whole chapter.

I mentioned St. Basil in the session before, how he told the Christian establishment--he was talking to the leaders not the common people--the ones who would implement, carry out whatever he was telling them and the people will get the effect of it from the leaders. He said to them, this is recorded in their history, I found it during my research and this was before I became your leader.

I did a lot of research. My wife at the time and my son, Wallace, know. One day she went to bed and she said, Are you going to stay up? I said, Yes, I cannot go to bed right now. I had the dining table covered with books and papers, big table too, big enough for at least six people to eat. She got up to use the washroom, or I think she got up just to check, because something would not let her sleep. She came in there and she saw me at the table still and I imagine that it was about 2 oclock a.m. and she said, Dont you think you should just go to bed and get some rest? I said, No, I am all right. I will rest later. And she went back to bed. He got up in the morning and she came there and she said, Wallace are you still up? You have been up all night.

So you should know the son of the Honorable Elijah Mohammed. Nobody was paying me to do that. And I did not have any plans to raise myself up or to be your boss or your leader. G-d knows that was not in my mind. But I was influenced from the earliest years. I can recall having a very different picture of myself than what the average brother or sister in my family or the average child would have. When you are told as a child that the man that your father calls G-d in the person put your name on the wall, the back of the door before you were born, while you were in your mother. And then it turns out to be they did not have that method now that they use to determine whether it is a girl or boy, ultrasound. That came late in my life. They did not know whether it was a boy or a girl. They couldnt tell, but they had already written the name of a boy on the backside of the door, Wallace.

I read the postcard that he sent to my mother and he said, The delivery has arrived take good care of him. That is all the postcard said. But my parents told me that he told them, Mr. Fard, W.D. Forty, Remember your promise, keep your promise.

And my parents told to me that the promise was that they would raise me to be a helper. Mr. Fard said the exact words my parent gave me, And promise me that you will let him help us do this work. So that means Mr. Fard was saying that this boy that you finally have that I named while he was yet in his mother and gave him my name. Many of you do not know that his name was also Wallace D. Fard. And that is the name he used most commonly when he would write. Sometimes he would just put, Wallace D. Sometimes he would just put Wallace on the postcard. Some of these cards still exist.

At first, I think it was just for a split-second or so, I registered the heavy doubts that were in some so-called students out there, while I was speaking and words of the Quran came to me. Allah revealed to Muhammad that if they could see a huge book descending from the sky before their very eyes they wont believe. They will say, This enchantment! So that takes the burden off of me right away, the discomfort from me, instantly. It left. I am not the Prophet. Should I expect from people more than the Prophet was told to expect? No, and I feel you right now, you doubters out there.

I feel sorry for you. A great feast has been prepared. Poor Negro! He can eat higher on the hog, or whatever, than he ever could imagine. Nobody in any quarters in this world is eating any higher on the animal than we are, right now. Yes, I know that and I love you, too, very, very much. And look how you love me. There are three pair of glasses up here on this table. Allah says in the Quran of the first believers of Prophet Muhammad, to them and to us, too, do not think that what was said back then is not also perfectly proper and suited to our situations in the world now. He says, He found you on the brink of the pit of hellfire. 50 You were right on the brink, the edge, and you were about to fall over into the hellfire, into the bottomless pit,and He saved you from it. And He brought love between your hearts. He brought your hearts to embrace each other, emerge. It means not only embrace, but emerge. Now you know when people really love each other the heart does not just touch but your heart comes into my heart and my heart goes into your heart. It is like a transference, or a transfusion. My heart sentiments, or the blood of my heart going into yours and the blood of yours going into mine and the power that is bringing that about is our love for one another.

Under the Honorable Elijah Mohammed during the first phase of his leadership understand that his leadership went through transitions. The original spiritual life of the followers of the Honorable Elijah Mohammed or the Nation of Islam was beautiful. We loved one another and our love was genuine. We were ready to sacrifice for each other and felt no pain or discomfort. There was joy in doing it. We would see a brother and if we were driving we would say, Brother so and so are you riding? Do you need a lift? We cared about each other but you who are here your love is stronger than their love ever was or ever could be. I know it. Your love now, and it just happened in the last few years of my leadership, is stronger now than the Nation of Islams love for one another ever was or ever could be; because the light was not pure. The light is pure now and love can go to its maximum place in our hearts for one another. Praise be to Allah. Allahu Akbar.

Public life is evidence of what is going on in the private life

Look at the moral condition of Americas public and you know the public life is nothing but evidence of what is going on in the private life. That is all it is. So not all of us, but many of us must have some terrible, perverted, behavior going on in our homes for it to spill over into the public life like it is and show such moral decadence; just a spirit and a love for ignorance. It looks like there is an effort to portray them selves in the most ignorant, unintelligent picture. So it is not just moral. It is also intelligence that is lost, because the two go together. Morality and intelligence go together.

There can be no man of noble character unless that man also is a man of human decency. If he is vulgar he cannot have noble character. He cannot appear before us as an honorable noble character. He cannot do that unless he also has a strong moral foundation. And Allah says of Muhammad, the Prophet, And we have certainly seen you established upon a mighty foundation of moral excellence, of human character.51 It was because of his moral excellence. They go together, moral life, intelligent life and character. If one of those two are missing, intelligence or moral decency, there can be no noble character.

Mother is really the sacred temple of the house
Father is the leader or the spirit of that house

And this brings to my mind, when I said decency, that the Honorable Elijah Mohammed said where there are no decent women there can be no decent men. So the mother is really the sacred temple of the house, yes, she is. And the father should be the leader or the spirit of that house. He should be. You know house in Arabic, bait, is feminine, not masculine in grammar. We know angels and the world, this is where Islamic knowledge parts, separates from the world. The world was given angels, feminine pictures or images and children images, baby images as well as men like Jibril. But with the revelation of Quran and Muhammads teachings to us based upon the Quran, he gave us the teachings that is given in the Quran that the angels should not be called by female names. Their work is the work that is more representative of male nature and action than female nature and action.

Kabah sign how to structure and serve society

Lets see if we can sum this up, now. The story and picture of Abraham and his son constructing the house should also be seen by us brothers and sisters, especially brothers, as what we need in us in order to be successful in structuring society and serving human society in the best way. We need people who are spiritually pure, spiritually balanced, to work with us; who are doing the rational or material work. We need their input and their authority as well as that of the people who are more inclined or more orientated as industrialists or builders. The building has to include them both.

 Question and Answers

 Imam W. Deen Mohammed:
Because every people have their own Qiblah. That is in the Quran. All of the question are good but some of them give me more of an opportunity to bring out the light G-d blessed us to understand.

Question:
Why or how did finding or seeing the Black Stone influence Abraham to build the Kabah there at that place and time?

 Imam W. Deen Mohammed:

It is said that one of the great khalifahs kissed the Black Stone. This is after the passing of the Prophet. He said, If I hadnt seen the Messenger of G-d doing this I would not do this. Understand that the persons in the immediate association of Muhammad, the Prophet ,were men who were called the Hunafaa. They did not believe in superstitions. They only believed in what they could understand with their normal, rational minds. But they also believed that the human beings creation--they did not call it creation but the humans form among living things--was the most excellent of forms. Any thinking person can come to that conclusion. You know we can do more with our minds than any other living thing. So we are the best and the highest of all living things on the earth. So that was their belief and the logic for their discipline is just that. Since I am the best then I should respect my form over all other living forms. I shouldnt behave like a dog. I am a higher creation than a dog or a higher form than a dog. So these were the Hunafaa.

They are very intelligent people. So the companion of the Prophet saw himself above kissing the stone and he said I wouldnt do it if the Prophet himself had not done it. But now if he was not from the Arab people and he had been from a Christian or another part of the world where Christians had been established he would not have had any trouble kissing the Black Stone if he accepted the Prophet, the Quran and his leadership. These were Arabs who had not been Christians. The Christians were converted, too. They were there, too, making Pilgrimage. No Christians were having a problem like that because the Bible says, And the rejected stone became the corner in the house.

Now if you understand building construction, masonry, which means building, what we call now the developer, the one who puts the house up; if you understand what the corner is especially for back then, you form a right angle. That is the key. You form one right angle on the ground or dig a trench right angle and once you do that you make a straight line from one side of that right angle to where you want it to go, or as far as you want it to go. You make it as long or as big as you want it and you stop. You take the other side of the angle and you stop. Now you have half of the square. So once you get the corner you can get the whole square building and the Kabah is square. So once you get one corner right all you have to do is line the other ones up with it. The other three sides are lined up with it and you have a perfect square for building the house.

Black represents the human heart that turns black out of the body

So the one corner is very important. The corner that you start with is very important. And the stone that fell represents the original nature of mankind that fell from heaven, not physically speaking, but ideally speaking. It is an idea that you are developing, not a physical structure. Once you get the corner lined up youve got it. The stone is black but it was not always black. It was shining white in the sky. It burned out and when it cooled it was black. What is this blackness? This blackness must be understood when we study the human heart. If you kill a person and take the heart out and let it cool off in time it will turn black. The blood turns black.

The passion in the heart for divinity has to burn out, like the star, lit body, falling from the sky

So really the Kabah, that corner, represents the human heart and it is good. The heart made a mistake, thinking it can go up above mortal life or flesh, carnal nature; go above it and become saintly, angelic, or divine. It made a mistake. So that passion for divinity has to burn out and that mind that thinks you are something special, not human like other humans, has to die. All of that message is in a star, a lit body falling from the sky, down here and cooling off.

Black Stone with silver ring around it represents the pure heart of Adam before deceived by Satan

So when we look at it now it represents the heart and it did not have a silver ring around it. But the custodians of the Kabah put a silver ring around it. You who made the Hajj and kissed the Black Stone, or just passed by, maybe you didnt have a chance to kiss it, because sometimes they rush you and you cant get to it. If you saw it, you saw a corner with a stone in there with a silver ring around it. Why did they add the silver ring to it? They added the silver ring to say, This is not just any heart. This is not a symbol or a sign of just any human heart. This is a sign of a human heart that was blessed with purity. The white metal represents purity. And the ring is around it to say this was the pure heart of Adam before he was deceived by Satan.

Heart symbolic of the social nature

So it represents our first father and he is the human concept that represents shared identity. All of us have this identity that is social; the social nature. The heart is symbolic, too, of the social nature. We love each other. Our heart registers each other. It tells us that our society of Muslims is ordered, really, for humanity, the same thing. It is ordered upon the social nature. When you look at the American flag and you see the red streaks, that is the social nature. And the white streaks, that is the conscience of the people. The conscience should be clear, pure. And your passions should be social passion. Your love for people and your spirit for people, it should be coming from your heart. So there are red lines, white lines. Then you go up to the sky and then there is the dark blue of night and stars are in that dark blue area, right? The same way you read this you have to read these signs in the Quran, too. You have to read the Kabah the same way. You know their red doesnt represent just red. What value would a flag have to us if the red streak is just a red streak saying, Oh it is pretty. And some of us are so ignorant, that is the only way we see it, saying, We got a pretty flag, red, white and blue, with some pretty stars in it.

The Bible says, The rejected stone became the corner. What was rejected? The common nature that Adam represents; the common human identity and nature were rejected. We all are identifying commonly, altogether, and there is a name for our nature among living things. Tell me what is the name for our nature? It is human nature; not dog nature, not reptile nature, not elephant nature. Human nature, that is what we all have in common and nothing else has that but we humans.

And Im going to have to recess right now. I will be back with you, en sha Allah, for a few minutes before we make Thuhr Prayer. Okay? Thank you.

It is a beautiful time for us I thank Allah swt that we have to come to this time and survived. I thank Allah swt for this wonderful day. And I often think of what the Bible said, it is going to be a great and dreadful day.52 And look how dreadful this time is for us but at the same time great. And even a more dreadful day for those who are not of faith. The people who are not in faith they are in hell. In this time they are in hell. They dont know it but that is the people of hell. They dont know they are in hell. That is why their skins can be changed over and over again. And Allah swt says in hell their skins as fast as one is burned up a new skin is given to them comes.53, 54

I hope youre ready to put your questions on a little piece of paper I do not have time to read a whole composition. Please just a clear straight question.

If you ask a question and it is very clear to me that you know my answer Im not going to answer it. That is right, youre asking it so I can send some vibrations into the audience. Obviously youre not asking it because you want to know my position, you already know my position. And most of them know my position. So Im not answering questions like that. Now this is a good one.

Question: Is the trumpet in the Bible the same as
         mentioned in the Quran?

 Imam WD Mohammed:
Yes and no. By yes I mean Im saying, Ill explain. By yes, I mean the reference the Quran blowing of the trumpet it is addressing the Bibles blowing of the trumpet. It is giving further, I would say discussion and understanding on that particular statement in the Bible. The trumpet blown on the day of judgment in the Bible blowing of the trumpet. Now the trumpet is blown on the day of Judgment. Now a trumpet is an instrument made by man and the trumpet is also a metal instrument and usually attractive metal, brass. And brass kind of resembles gold in color or appearance but it is not gold.

Quran A correction, improvement on previous scripture

So yes the trumpet in the Bible is stated again in connection with the judgment is stated in the Quran and I said the Quran gives us further knowledge and it gives us understanding on what is repeated from earlier scriptures. When it is repeated it is to give us more knowledge or more correct knowledge or better knowledge and a better reference of a better way of communicating than the earlier way. So it has to be some kind of improvement on that communication. The Quran would not have it just there to repeat it for no reason.

Trumpet Symbol representing your own body

So both references are very enlightening. You have to blow your breath into them dont you? So it makes a sound with breath or air just as we talk we make a sound because we have air. If you did not have air you could not make a sound. So you should see the instrument as your own body. The trumpet is a symbol of sign representing your own body. If I am correct then the blowing is going to come from our bodies. The sound that is going to set the alarm is going to come from our human bodies and you know it is a human who picks up a trumpet and blows it. It cannot blow itself. And the breath is the breath of human life. The human breath of life that comes from your body and blown into it.

So to make it short what it is saying is that it will be the people themselves sounding the end of the world, the trumpet to announce the end of the world. But they say that instrument is dead and you are putting breath into a dead instrument; the people are going be dead. They are going to die to the world and they are going to make a sound in the world while dead in their flesh. The satan and the world must reach through your flesh that is why Allah swt says in hell their skin is given to them anew every time one is burned out they will get a new skin in hell. 54

So they reach you through your skin, through the feeling more than any other thing. Now we know the higher you go then they start reaching you through your ears, your eyes but for the masses of people who fall victim and it is the masses who fall victim to hell fire or to satans scheme he reaches them through their feelings, through their skin, through their flesh because that is where they are. They are not up here in the intelligence they live in their flesh.

So that is where the satan gets and hell takes their flesh and consumes it and as soon as it is finished, burned out in one condition they are given another one and it burns them out in that condition, but always through the feelings, the sentiments. So that is the explanation for the trumpet being blown. The people are going to complain they are going to pronounce the end for such would and they are going to be dead to the influences of satan and the wicked world. The wicked world wont be able to affect them at all, and isnt that what we have to do in this world? We have to just cut off our feeling from them, dont let them come through our feelings or reach us through our sensitivities? Yes. So that is what that means.

And the trumpet shall be blown. How many times? Three times.55 But Allah swt has in the Quran (has a total of ) three times too in the Quran. 56 But it is coming a time and a condition when it wont take three times, it wont take two times it says one time and all the dead will stand up. 56

 Prayer Tarawih Shafi, Witr

And this is the month of Ramadan so Im going to make a connection for you in what were doing right now. In this month we are doing the Tarrawih prayers and it is a a minimum of 8 rakats but after the prayers there is Witr prayer and it has two rakats together and one raka done independently. It is only in the Ramadan night prayer that we do that. For the Witr when it is not Ramadan it is done almost exactly the way Maghrib prayer is done. Two rakats followed by a third one that is Witr but in Ramadan the last rakat, the third one is done completely by itself. You finish the two and you stand up separately to do the third. And you do it, you say Allahu Akbar and you do the third. So it is a separate one done alone, by itself as only one rakat which goes along with what Allah swt says in the Quran. It is a ritual agreeing with what Allah swt says in the Quran. That there is coming a time and it is the last one and it is all about fasting only in the month or Ramadan.

What is the month of Ramadan about fasting from food? Fasting from the wicked world not food. What they offer us. Were fasting from the food that they give us because we eat in the night. So were fasting, it is symbolic of us fasting from the food that the world gives us.

So the last rakat or standing of Witr says that we will rise up from the dead with only one sound of the trumpet, only one standing. Because the trumpet is also used in war, in battle isnt it? For the battle cry to signal the charge. So the trumpet is a symbol or instrument that is used to signal a command like, Charge them.

Three is always a developmental progression

So if there is only one blast of the trumpet that means you want to have to do three and wake it up in the mind because three means you are going to wake it up in the mind, bring it to the conscience , three by steps . You bring it to the conscience by steps three is always a developmental progression. Three from mortal to mind to truth or freedom three to the spirit. You hope that in the spirit you will have truth. So it is 1, 2, 3.

Baby starts out like a plant both are hidden

You look at life, look at a plant the Quran says your life the parable of human life is the parable of a plant and the Bible uses this too whether it says it like that or not it is the same as in the Bible .58 And look at a plant. How does it begin? In the ground, in the earth hidden, right? And how does the baby form in the mother? Hidden, concealed. And the plant comes up and shows itself right? It shows itself sometimes it is bent over like it is in ruku or sajdah but it straightens itself up, it drops the dirt off of its back and straightens up straight like a little baby crawling, coming out of its mother in sajdah really. And stays helpless for a while after being delivered but finally it gets up off of its hands and knees and stands up straight. That is practically every life, even the blade of grass and I guess that is why the Bible says, What is the son of man but grass?59 It means his life too is an effort to stand up straight.

So the the last development after standing up straight is reaching, spreading out, extending your life, right? And a plant is the same even the blade of grass, it gives a little tassel with seeds on it, right? And sometimes, in fact most of the time it will have more than one blade, right? And the higher it gets the more those blades separate and go outwardly instead of all going just straight up. So that is the movement from Root to Stem then branches that is the three stages of the plant and tree. The biggest one is the tree that you can see so clearly, this are the phases. Root, stem, branches.

You who study this in high school you can easily follow what Im saying, but some of you know nothing but the beer bottle, the corner in your neighborhood and the whiskey store, tavern, grocery store and the vacant lot where you play ball or football or something. You dont work. You never had a job other than hanging out on the corner. You dont know how the hell a tree looks anyway. You never saw one really. You never paid any attention to how a tree looks and especially a blade of grass, you never had a mid to look down there and examine how it came up. All you know you fell on it one time drunk.

Now it is a shame but I lived in a neighborhood like that where the average African American person, man, male didnt do anything but get up and just hang out and never leave te block. Go back in sleep and repeat that over and over again until he dies. I thought you were finished, see hes trying to tell me I better hurry up. I dont mind staying on this one for the rest of the time. The trumpet that is a real good one there. When the trumpet is blown.

Instrument Musical represents the human body

Let me tell you, every instrument that the industrial world, scientific world permits to be an instrument that is sold to the public believe me if you invent an instrument it doesnt mean it is going to get to the public because you invented a nice instrument, if it doesnt agree with the language they want to communicate your instrument is not going anywhere but stay right with you.. It is not going to come into the public. Every instrument is a symbol representing the human body and the music is being played on your body.

The drum copied the heart beat and the skin represents our skin not the drum skin, not an animal skin; I dont care what kind of skin it is made out of. It represents the human skin. And you skin I again repeat it carries your feelings. It is one of your senses and the skin is the medium for that sense, feeling in the skin. So hes beating on the drum and that is the simplest, most primitive of instruments. And you can hardly go anywhere where you do not find a drum. Even the tambourine is the same, it is not called a drum but it is just like a drum. It has tight skin on it and bells added to it, that is all. They still have them in the churches. I havent been in the church in many, many years but they still have them in the churches dont they?

The guitar is an instrument and they are all made from a thinker who designed them and the culture permits them to be sold and used because the culture agrees with that agreeing with the language in the culture. So who is the drum? People are drums. Who are guitars? People are guitars, string instrument. Any other instrument even the piano playing on the keys, now it is a very sophisticated instrument in the culture. Playing on the keys and that is what most of the demagogic leaders of ours are doing when they are fishing trying to persuade us to go along with their thinking and their decision they are playing on our keys and they get us to feel real good. The music sounds to good on our keys we like it so we go along with them. They take us, they pull us in with their emotional music that they make on the strings of our soul or on the keys of our emotional nature. So every instrument not just one.

This question Ill read it but Im not answering it.

 Question:
Brother Imam yesterday you began talking about black leaders then you stopped. Were you going to say more?

Kabah Only for Muslims because every people have
                 their own Qiblah

 Question:
Why cant believers of other faiths visit the Kabah since it is for all people?

 Imam WD Mohammed:
Because every people have their own Qiblah.60 That is in the Quran. This is a good question, all of them are good but some give me an opportunity to bring out more the light G-d has blessed us to understand. To bring out more understanding that is light.

 Question:
What or how did the finding or seeing the black stone influence Abraham to build the Kabah there at that place and time?

Kabah black stone Umar kissed it
Hunafaa People believed in the best of humanity

 Imam WD Mohammed:

Thank you very much and Im going to answer this, Im going to give comments on this one. It is said that one of the great khalifahs kissed the black stone, this is after the passing of the Prophet pbuh and Umar said, If I hadnt seen the Messenger of G-d doing this I would not do it. Understand that the immediate association of Muhammad the prophet pbuh were men who were called the Hunafaa. They did not believe in superstitions. They only believed in what they could understand with their normal, rational minds. But they also believed that the human beings creation, they did not call it creation but the humans form among living things was the most excellent of forms. Any thinking person can come to that conclusion. You know that we can do more with our minds than any other living thing. So we are the best and the highest of all living things on earth.

So that was their belief and the logic for their discipline is just that, Since I am the best then I should respect my form over all other living forms. I shouldnt behave like a dog. I am a higher creation that a dog or a higher form than a dog. So these were the Hunafaa.

They are very intelligent people, so the companion of the Prophet pbuh saw himself above kissing the stone and he said, I wouldnt do it if the Prophet pbuh himself had not done it. But now if he was not from the Arab people and he had been from a Christian people or another part of the world where Christians had been established he would have had any trouble kissing the black stone if he accepted the Prophet Muhammad pbuh, the Quran and his leadership. These were Arabs who had not been Christians. These were Arab s who had not been Christians. The Christians were converted too. They were there too making pilgrimage. No Christian would have a problem like that because the Bible says, And the rejected stone became the corner in the house.61

Now if you understand old building construction, masonry which means building, what we call now the developer, the one who puts the house up, if you understand what the corner is especially for back then you form a right angle. That is the key right there. You form one right angle on the ground or just dig a trench right angle and once you do that you make a straight line from one side of that right angle to where you want it to go or as far as you want it. You make it as long or as big as you want it and you stop.

You take the other side of the angle, you go and you stop. Now you have half of the square. So once you get the corner you can get the whole square building and the kabah is square. So once you get one corner right all you have to do is line the other ones up with it. The other three sides are lined up with it and you have a perfect square for building the house.

Black stone represents original nature of mankind
Black Represents the human heart that turns black out of
    the body
Black stone fell was once white Symbolic of man
thinking he was divine that has to burn out
Black stone white collar represents purity

So the one corner is very important. The corner that you start with is very important. And the stone that fell represents the original nature of mankind that fell from heaven not physically speaking but ideally speaking. It is an idea that you are developing not a physical structure. Once you get the corner lined up you got it. The stone is black but it was not always black. It was shining white in the sky. It burned out and when it cooled it was black. What is this blackness? This blackness must be understood when we study the human heart. If you kill a person and take the heart out and let it cool off in time it will turn black. The blood turns black.

So really the Kabah, that corner represents the human heart and the heart is good. The heart made a mistake thinking it can go up above mortal life or flesh, the carnal nature, go above it and become saintly, angelic or divine. It made a mistake. So that passion for divinity has to burn out and that mind that thinks you are something special not human like other humans has to die. All that message is in a star, a lit body falling from the sky down here and cooling off.
So when we look at it now it represents the heart and it did not have a silver ring around it but the custodians of the kabah put a silver ring around it. You who made the hajj and kissed black stone or just passed by, maybe you didnt have a chance to kiss it because sometimes they rush you and you cant get to it. If you saw it you saw a corner with a stone in there with a silver ring around it. Why did they add the silver ring to it? They added the silver ring to say, This is not just any heart, this is not a symbol or a sign of just any human heart, this is a sign of a human heart that was blessed with purity. The white metal represents purity. And the ring is around it to say this was a pure heart of Adam before he was deceived by satan.

Al Islam Is ordered upon the social nature
 Adam Represents the social nature
  Heart Represents the social nature

Flag Red streaks that is the social nature
White streaks that is the conscience of the people

So it represents our first father and he is the human concept that represents shared identity. All of us have this identity that is social. The social nature. The heart is symbolic too of the social nature. We love each other. Our heart registers each other. It tells us that our society of Muslims is ordered really for humanity, the same thing. It is ordered upon the social nature. When you look at the American flag and you see the red streaks that is the social nature. And the white streaks that is the conscience of the people. The conscience should be clear, pure. And your passions should be social passions. Your love for people and your spirit for people it should be coming from your heart. So there are read lines, white lines, then you go up to the sky and then there is the dark blue of night and stars are in that dark blue area. Right?

The same way you read this you have to read these signs in the Quran too. You have to read the kabah the same way. You know that red doesnt represent just red. What value would a flag have to us if it is just a red streak is just a red streak and youre saying, Oh it is pretty. And some of us are so ignorant that is the only way we see it saying, We got a pretty flag red, white and blue. With some pretty stars in it.

The Bible says the rejected stone became the corner. What was rejected? The common nature that Adam represents. The common human identity and nature. We all are identified commonly altogether and there is a name for our nature among living things. Tell me what is the name for our nature. Human nature. Not dog nature. Not reptile nature. Not elephant nature. Human nature. That is what we all have in common and nothing else has that but we human.

Identity is Human not democrat, republican, black, white
scheme to keep us divided so we wont get justice

That represents all of us I dont care if youre black, red whatever your color is, I dont care if youre from Europe, Africa, Asia, no matter where youre from the first identity and the identity that represents us all together more than any other identity is human and human nature and that in the scripture is the rejected stone. Allah swt intended mans society to be based upon his social nature, that is what ties us all together but those who want to use human beings they want to put that nature out of your mind and identify you as democrats, republicans, blacks, whites these names are given to us to keep us from uniting to have one society where everybody gets justice and equality. Equality of citizenship and justice. So that is the rejected stone.

It is not rejected in scripture Allah swt says that He made Adam from the earth, your first father. He formed him of the earth and then gave him a mate and all the humans on the planet came from them. That is their origin, they came from those parents. So Allah swt says that the human people are one family, that is what He is saying and you heard it crystal clear. The human beings as flesh are one family, that is the rejected stone. Right now do you know the politicians want to keep us separated from each other?
And if youre a Muslim and a Christian they want you to tolerate each other but believe me theyd be fighting something terrible if Muslims and Christians would really come together in peace with one another and start being one common citizenry though different religions having the same interest and objectives for our neighborhoods and for our town. Do you think they want that? They would start knocking some of we leaders off if they see that developing. If Allah swt didnt protect us we would be killed. Dont think what they do in your face is all the time what theyre doing behind your back. They say, Yes this is beautiful, interfaith we want to see what we can do to help you. We like this interfaith. After all were all G-ds children, and behind your back when youre not around theyre saying, Now be careful of these Muslims they want to take over. They want to get all of us into their masjid.

Imam Shuaib:
Now brother Imam the blue in the star the social translation of that pa rt of the flag how do you get ___ you said the blue of night with the stars in it I didnt get it.

Imam WD Mohammed:
I know you didnt because I didnt deal with it. Use your own mind. You dont need me. You dont need my help for that unless you have the blues. And I just gave you a lot of help.

 Question:
What it he connection between the word al Qawaaid thats used when Prophet Abraham raised the at the house and used when referring to women past the age of child bearing? Not seeking marriage.

 Imam WD Mohammed:
And the person who sen this up wrote it in Arabic Al Qawaaid and they gave the verse for the two different uses. Now, but the most important thing to know about this is al Qawaaid is also used in the rules of grammar. That is what it refers to, how language is properly constructed. 62, 63 How a noun and a verb relate to each other, the rules of grammar. That is exactly what it refers to. Now why is a women referred to with the same language when she is past the age of child bearing? It is because her figure if she cannot bear children does not invite man to start the process of life with her. If he knows it he will say it is hopeless here, I cant start the process of life.

And since development of the human body is a message or a sign of the structuring of social community, the society and ordering it upon social basis it is addressed when we study the physical body scripture says, And he made the man from blood adhering. 64 And it says He made him from a milky like substance, an opaque substance, watery substance. So that is the beginning, sperm. And then the blood and on and on. So now if the Quran is talking about a woman who cannot bear children she is old, that means these people have already established their social order, it is finished. And they have no interest and no reason, no basis and no circumstance or not conditions for wanting to start the process all over again. So then that particular women would be a sign of what used to be as far as the regeneration of life or the repopulation. She would be a sign of what used to be. Isnt the. Kabah the same?

Isnt it a symbol or a sign of what was? But the same logic we should have it if it was correct for our guidance at all times. And believe me the women is the same, she has a logic that has reached its conclusion. And the Kabah is a sign of a logic that has reached its conclusion.
