A SOCIETY OF LIFE

The Mujeddid, Hon. Wallace Deen Muhammad

We greet our honorable radio audience greetings from all the Prophets from Abraham to Muhammad, the greetings of peace in the Quran and Arabic language. As-Salaam-Alaikum.

All praises due to Allah, the Guardian-Evolver, the Keeper, the Sustainer of all the Worlds. 'We ask for His Guidance. We ask for His Mercy and His Forgiveness. We ask that He bless us to be a community of Muslims upholding the banner of Al-Islam as it was upheld by the companions of Prophet Muhammad (Salla-llahu Alaike Wa-Sallam)

Highly Glorified is Allah above all that we can imagine, above all that we can associate with him. Above all that: we can give description for. We can not come up with any idea to do Justice to Allah. It is not in our capacity, it is not in our intelligence as human beings, as created beings, to come up with any idea to do justice to the Supreme Being of our Creator.

Dear Beloved Muslims, today, in this k hut bah we want to give serious thought to just what is the life of the human being and the life of society. Life should mean decency, progress, health. We may lose our good senses, good intelligent understanding of what life is and we may find that we have lost life and we are following "death urges" rather than "life urges". The human being can lose life before he is aware of it and he can be following death urges rather than life. We live in a world and a society, this society that we live in, that is given to death urges, it is not given to life urges. The society, the way it is encouraged to go, tells us that the society is under death urges, not life urges. They have an abnormal, sick idea of life. Not a healthy, sane, normal idea of life. Sick, abnormal idea of life, and we have to be careful because we might find ourselves under influences that won't make for life, they will be making for death. And because of the nature of the human being, the nature of Allah's justice, death can seem the right road to walk down and you can fall in love with the path of death. And you be thinking to yourself that you're really living and you won't be living, you'll be going fast downhill to self-destruction, to misery.

Dear beloved people, there are words in the Quran of Allah's justice and it comes in verses and words that are filled with great understanding, great enlightenment, great light of understanding. It reads "Ar-Rahamanu Ah-lal Ahr-shi-s-ta-wa", the Gracious God, that is Allah, "Ar Rahman" is on the Throne of "Istawa", that is an Arabic word and it is hard to give you one English word for that. In the context of the Quran we can find what is the real meaning of t h L'S word. The word is used in different expressions or contexts. In the Quran, an argument is presented to the people of religion that share one community of religious people: Jews, Christians, and Muslims. The argument is directed at the Christians who insist upon making God a trinity of God, father, son and holy ghost. It says Allah invites us to invite the people who have these unbecoming ideas in religion to come to common terms of agreement and the word for that is "Sawaa" come to common terms of agreement.

That's the translation, that's the English translation for that word "Sawaa". But there is more to it than that. It means terms that do justice, let's come to agree upon something that is just. Something that is fair, something that does not take away from truth. Something that does not do injustice to your side or to our side. Something that is truthful, just and not favoring any, but favoring only truth, what is right. That's a great challenge dear people, a great challenge. If we are to be the noble, the great, noble creatures, human beings, don't you know you are identifier) as the greatest of all creatures on this earth. Not on1y re1igion identifies you as the greatest creature on this earth, but also science identifies you as the greatest creature on this earth.

Religion identifies you as the greatest creature on this earth before science did. Religion doesn't say that the human being is lower than a deer, or lower than a lion, or lower than an eagle, or lower than the chimpanzee or the monkey or the ape. No, religion says you are higher than all of them and science says you are highest of all of them. Science says that you, the human being, you are the highest of all the creatures on this earth. If that's true then aren't you doing yourself a disservice, aren't you shaming yourself when you act like a dog, when you act like a wild animal, when you become less intelligent than the average animal out there in the street. Aren't you doing yourself a disservice. Aren't you shaming your own worth as a creature on this earth.

That's beneath your worth, you are not living up to your own worth when you act like animals, when you act like dumb senseless dupes, when your morals fall lower than the morals of animals, you are shaming your worth. You are disgracing your own worth as a human being. Not only Allah says that you're better than them, that you are higher than them, science says it too. And many of you, you'll deny what Allah says, but you claim to follow what science says. But really you follow nothing but death urges, the urge to destroy yourself, the urge to loin the blind movement toward disgrace and self-destruction.

The future of any society rests upon it's concepts of .moral Justice. What is moral justice to you? You should have some idea of what moral justice is. You can't prosper as a human being if you don't have some concept of what moral justice is. Again, science and religion agree that the human being is basically moral creature. That's what distinguishes you from rocks, from stones, from trees, from cows, horses and other animals. The thing that distinguish you is that you are a moral creature. You're not so much smarter than the rest of the creatures. None of you can make a round circle without being taught how to do it. But many of the creatures we call animals can do it without anyone teaching them to do it. So you're not so intelligent, but you're a moral creature. You can get new and greater sense of your own worth and dignity that will put pressure on you and make you say, "Oh, I am not on the level where I should be. So, the pressure of dignity on you makes you get up because you don't feel that you are really enjoying your full worth or your full dignity. This is a force in the life of the human being, to rise up to that level of self-image or self-dignity that it can feel comfortable with. It wants to feel that it has what is meant for it. That it is not living beneath its own dignity or its own worth.

How many of us care anymore whether we are living beneath our own worth, whether we arc living beneath our own dignity. This society has stopped being responsible for human life. Therefore, you don't have any concept of moral justice. You don't have any conscious awareness of your worth as an individual. You don't know what distinguish you anymore from an animal. You have lost your own identity. You have lost your own sense of value or human worth. Who am I talking to, I am talking to everyone of you. Because if there was one of you in here who had this sense I would have more support. Your mind is not given to Allah. Your mind is like a floating leaf in the wind. Whatever pushes you emotionally decides where you will be.

You come to this Masjid and you get an emotional push and it pushes you for a while, but as soon as you run into something else, another wind pushes you and we find that you are far away from where you were when we left you because you give yourself to emotional forces, emotional influences. You don't have any good rational sense. You don't have any rational concept, any rational idea, any logical principle that's ruling in your life. You need a logical principle ruling in your life to survive in this world. No one cares about you, but Allah. And if it wasn't for myself, giving myself completely to Allah, I wouldn't care about you. I would be just like you, caught in the wind of the influences in the society.

Human life can't prosper without moral vision. If you want to be successful in the business world don't you have to have some object, some goal to reach for. Don't you have to have some business vision to be successful materially, to be successful in the business world. We are basically, by human description, we are moral beings, moral creatures. You can be as wrong as you want to be, that doesn't mean that that's your nature, I Your nature is not to be wrong. Your nature is to be right and you are going against the grain when you are being wrong. And your own nature is a witness that you are going against the grain when you are being wrong. None of us can be angels, perfect without any defects, without flaws, without any sins. Your Imam sins. I sin. I commit sins. I am not an angel. I am not a perfect being,, but my path is not toward sin, my path is toward Allah and when I sin it is because I have a weakness, because of a mistake, because of a weakness, because of Ignorance on my part. And because I am that way, Allah loves me. And He will hurt me, He will trip me up, He will let me know that I went wrong because He knows I can be corrected. And when I know I've gone wrong I say, "Oh, Allah forgive me for that mistake. Forgive me for that Ignorance, forgive me for that sin, forgive me for that selfishness on my part. Forgive me for that. Oh, Allah, I want to obey you." And Allah accepts the prayer of forgiveness no matter where it comes from. The greatest sinner on this earth, if he will pray sincerely for forgiveness, Allah accepts that prayer and then Allah gives you help. Gives you help.

I don't have the high credentials of the high class people of this world, that is the institutional credentials. I don't have any credential from any institution. No great school has given me any credential. Some people think I went to Al Ahzar; Egypt to school. I never went there to school. I am a product of your school. You children go to Clara Muhammad School, that's the school I went to. Except for three hours credit in English and a couple of courses, about six hours and a couple of other courses, I have no schooling outside of this school.

I have spent no time outside of this school hardly. I came up like you under the Hon. Elijah Muhammad and now you are corning up under Al Islam under Imam W.D. Muhammad and you are coming up in this school, I had no more opportunity than you have. I'm not a college graduate. I don't have one year of college, but two days ago I was invited with a few members, a small number of people to meet with the President of the United States, I met King Khalid, the King of Saudia Arabia, the President of Egypt. I met the President, the leaders of most the Islamic worlds (countries). And it's hardly a country on the face of this earth that wouldn't give me an invitation. If they thought I wanted to come, they would give me an invitation from the State Department. What has brought me to this level of respect in the world. Search my life, is it money. I have none. Search my life, is it money. I have none.

Is it education. By this world's Judgement I have none. I have no education, I don't have a B.S. Degree. So what has brought me this level of respect in the world. My obedience to Allah, I refuse to obey any except Allah. And Allah has lifted me up because of my obedience to Him. I am a living proof to you that if you be right and try to obey Allah, Allah will secure you. You won't have to worry about food, clothing and shelter. You won't have to worry about threats upon your life. I worry about nothing. I fear nothing, And physically I'm in as good of shape as the average one of you. So I am a living proof among you, that Allah can give you more than the world can. So don't you make yourself stupid children when you follow people that are going against my way. You should follow me in my way. My way is an evidence to you that my way is the way of success. So you make yourself stupid when you follow people that lead you against my way. I'm not saying my way to take the credit away from Prophets. No, my way is the way of Prophet Muhammad. I follow Allah and I follow him through the guidance that was received through by Prophet Muhammad. So I'm also a follower of Prophet Muhammad. But I don't worship Prophet Muhammad, I worship Allah. It is not because I fear Muhammad that I'm this kind of a man. It is because I fear Allah that I'm this kind of man.

A people are really blessed when they are given physical evidence and you're that kind of people. You are blessed with physical evidence among you, that Allah's way is the sure way. If you don't except it then shouldn't you be punished for that. You think any of you all can turn away from the right religion and go out there and give yourself to the world of sin and disgrace and not be punished for it. If that is what you think you are, you n are sadly mistaken. Allah let the ignorant get by with a lot, but you people are not ignorant. The youngest child in here, you are not ignorant. You know that there is moral force on earth and you know that moral force has respect in the world because your Imam is a moral force and you know your Imam has respect in the world. If I were a dope pusher do you think I'd have the respect I have. I could have millions of dollars from pushing dope. Do you think the President would want to see me. Do you think King Khalid would want to see me. Do you think the press and the professions would respect mo No, I'm respected by the press. I'm respected by the professions. I'm respected by everybody,
even the dumb fools respect me. Only Allah can give you that. I am not shining the light on me for ray sake, I am shining it on me for your sake. I don't think about myself until I see how you behave.

None of you can play ignorant in this Community because I make it my effort to save your moral life, to save your human life. And I'm not satisfied until I've brought the truth, the right understanding to you so simple that even the small child understood it. Simple facts of your life that if you understand them and respect them and live by them you can be successful. Not only you, but this nation. If this nation would hear what I'm saying it could come back to its good senses.

The more moral truthful you become. Moral can be false morals, can be false, can be lies, it can be corruption. Morals are right and wrong. Morals are filthy and clean. Some people have filthy morals, other clean morals. Some have right morals, others corrupt morals. Though just the mere use of the word moral doesn't make a thing right. Moral is only a word that brings to mind right and wrong . The more moral truthful our vision becomes the more secure life becomes for us. It is as simple as that. I want to repeat that because if you can remember these few words, you'll have the essence of religious truth. The more moral truthful your vision becomes*.don't you know we like to blind ourselves. The reason why most of us can't see is because we don't want to see. And the reason why we don't want to see is because we are too much a victim of bad influences to give them up. In other words, we are weak, we have been beaten down by bad influences.

We have been made a coward to bad influences. We have become a junkie to bad influences. So, since we can't muster up enough strength to throw off bad influences we want to justify carrying bad influences.

In an attempt to justify carrying bad influences we close our eyes to the keys of truth that will turn the light on and show us up for what we are. Why be a coward? Why be afraid of righteousness?

Dear beloved brothers and sisters, let us quickly look at the beautiful concept of Al Islam. Prophet Muhammad said, (Peace and Blessings Be Upon him), Al Islam is supported by five pillars. It's built, structured upon five pillars. What are those five pillars? The first of them, worship nothing, fear nothing, idolized nothing, send your prayer to nothing except the Creator of everything. One and One alone. That's the first pillar. And to bear witness that that truth did not come to you except from God's Messenger. You have to bear witness to that and then don't be a hypocrite. A lot of people will come and hear a word of guidance and they won't tell the source that they got it from. Because they want to do something for themselves. They want to glorify themselves. They want to lift themselves up. So, the first pillar demands truthfulness on our part and that truthfulness on our part demand that we do nothing selfish. We do nothing hypocritical.

We give credit to whom credit is due. God gave the Quran to Prophet Muhammad who was born about 1400 years ago in Arabia. You know anything about Al Islam? God revealed it, yes, He did, but don't you want to also admit that it didn't come to you. It didn't come to Elijah Muhammad. It didn't come to Warith Deen Muhammad. It didn't come to Imam Ali. It came to Prophet Muhammad. Shouldn't we be truthful? Yes! "La ilaha illallah Muhammadan Rasolullah" That's not required to save Muhammad. Muhammad is saved. He's dignified. He's honored. He's lifted up. He's saved. It's to save us from our weak human tendencies that will make you a liar, make you a hypocrite and make you deny where the blessings come from and how they came to you.

What else is there among these five pillars of faith? That you pray. Don't be stubborn, don't be stiff necked, don't be too proud to show the world that you are subject to something greater than yourself. Don't be too proud to tell the world, I'm not my boss, I have a boss over me. Don't be proud to tell the world that I have one that I have to answer to for everything. I have one that I have to answer to for everything. There is one that I have to give complete obedience to. There is one existing that I can't come bargaining. Say, well, I admit I'm suppose to bow my head to you. What about your back, bow everything, put your whole self on the floor as a submissive creature. Get all of that proudness out of you and do it before the world. A lot of us can do things in privacy, but we can't do them before our friends. We can't do them before the members of the society. We can do it if nobody knows we are doing it. Or in our private closet we can pray. We can put our head on the floor, and we cry, we cry tears. Oh, Allah, please don't let that happen. Please don't let that happen. I can't live if you let that happen. But come out here, Ahh, you are one of the crowd.

Then we have the pillar of fasting. In order to live up to these two demands upon us, we are going to practice self-restraint. So, we fast to get better control of our own emotions. To get better control of our own biological appetite. In learning to control our biological appetite we develop the muscle of control. I don't have to pick up this mike, to pick up this mike. I can practice picking up that table and I can pick up this mike. I can practice, really I can practice just using the muscle period in any way will give me the power
eventually to pick up the mike. You see. So we need to develop muscles of control. Control for human beings is control. It's a spiritual principle. Control. I can practice just containing my anger that gives me control. When we fast during the month of Ramadan all of our appetites are tested.

We have an appetite for food, that's tested. An appetite for sex, that's tested. An appetite to become emotional, that's tested. To give our self to emotional fits - Ahh, I can't stand it no longer, I'm going to eat something. Leave me alone before I kill you, I'm fasting. You get irritable, you can't stand to be aggravated. So you have to control all of your appetites.

Allah teaches us control so we can dignify ourselves. He's given us the strength. He's given the muscle that we need to take charge of our own life and keep our own life from disgrace. To keep our life from inferiority. To live on that plane of human respect and plane of human value that He has put us on. Allah's helping us. Not the President of the United States, not your Mama, not your Daddy, not me, Allah is helping us. All credit is to go to Allah. Whatever good is coming from the President of the United States is because Allah is helping all of us. What comes from Mama, what comes from Dad, what comes from my friends, what comes from my son, my daughter is because Allah is helping all of us. If it wasn't for Allah there would be no sense in this world. There would be no intelligence in life.

There would be nothing. So, you're going to go around trying to please everybody but Allah. What kind of person are you? Go around trying to please everybody but Allah. You're going to please your buddy. You're going to please somebody that made you feel intimidated, made you feel like your morals are a weakness on you. You are going to please a con man. You are going to please somebody that wants you to go along with them to hell. Yes! You rather please somebody that needs company to hell. Nobody will go to hell alone, don't you know that. If they know they are going to hell alone there will be nobody going to hell. That's why everybody that's "hell-bent" tries to get somebody to come with them. No human being has the courage to go to hell alone. Now you're going to displease

Allah who has given you all of this goodness, who made you the valuable creature you are. You are going to displease Him to give company to somebody that's bent upon going to hell because they are a coward, they can't live up to the demands of moral life on them. That's a shame.

You students, make Allah your leader. Because we will fail you. There's no guarantee that we who are over you children are going to be successful always. We may run into a problem and we may fall down. We are a human just like you. We may forget Allah ourselves and Allah will let us fall down. Every year you are older. Every year you are getting closer to being where we are now and every year we are closer to being where those generations were that are no more here. Yes! We are getting closer to the grave and you are getting closer to our places. Shouldn't that make you be sensible? Shouldn't that tell you that if you're going to make something out of your life you had better get serious and you had better make something your leader bigger than the people that make mistakes just like you do. Make Allah the object of your whole life and then you will be successful.

Fasting. After Fasting we have Charity. Pillars of Al Islam. Pillars, main pillars, the structures that support Al Islam. That tells us if we take these structures out we have no Al Islam. You take out the worship of Allah, you have none of them. Prophet Muhammad said, the central pillar is the worship of Allah, the purity of that worship and to acknowledge that Prophet Muhammad is His Messenger. That is the central pillar. He said that the structure of Al Islam is like the structure of a tent that has four post and one center pole holding up the top of the tent. If you take that center pole out the top, the tent will collapse, everything collapses. But we lose something from our Al Islam if we give off, let off doing our prayers. There Is one corner of the tent that has collapsed.

If we leave off practicing Fast, self-restraint for Allah's pleasure and Allah says fasting is for me. That's the only thing He says that is for me. Except your worship. He says fasting is for me. Meaning that you fast for Allah's pleasure alone. You don't fast to make you relatives happy or to get some name for being a good faster. You don't fast to make yourself healthier, physically. No! You don't fast to make yourself spiritually strong. You fast to please Allah, but in fasting for that you get all the other benefits. The right attitude is important. Allah says fasting is for me. In fact all of your services should be for Allah alone. But fasting is a service that is designed that really, if you understand it, nobody is paying the price but you. You pay the price directly. If you give somebody $50.00 from your hand, can you say that you really paid that price of yourself? Maybe and maybe not. Because somebody might have made it possible for you to earn that $50.00. But your physical health and the will power, your physical strength that is, pardon me, and the will to obey Allah, that's within yourself. I can't help you with that. No way for me to fast with you and you don't feel the same. Unless I hypnotize you and that wouldn't be a fast. Like being fasting-sleep. You can't sleep through Ramadan you have to wake up.

The last of these five pillars is "Hajj, Hajj". A pillar that says the human being must become broad in his social interest. His interest in society or as a member of this society must go from himself to include others It must even go beyond his nation to include other nations. He must take off his personal pride and put on the simple "Ihram, Ihram", the simple cloth of the 'Hajj.' . He must take off his national pride and become one in the group of the Hajji. He must even submit his knowledge. He's going around the Kaaba. He might be a genius, he might be Einstein. But he's going around the Kaaba and he's repeatedly saying "La Ahlna-Lana Illa ma

Ahlantana Anta Ia-ahla Nah-nu La Na-ahl, You know, we do not know. We have no knowledge, but what you gave us. That's what the wise man's saying, that's what the scholars what the scientist is saying as he goes around the Kaaba. So, whatever he has done in his life that has put him on a pedestal that raised him above the other fellow. There he admits that it all came from Allah. And he accepts to live on a common plane with every other human being.

This is the sense you need in your mind. These are the thoughts that you should be keeping in your mind. If you want your mind to stay healthy. If you want your intellect to really grow. If you want to be free and secured tomorrow from wine, liquor, disco, partying, dope, narcotics, a slavist servile position under somebody that will take advantage of you. If you want to be free then you should come to this religion and keep this religion in your mind and any time you've become aware that record playing, music, song and dance and the foolishness of the world is occupying your mind, you should say, "Oh, Allah, thank you for bringing me back to ray senses. Help me beat these influences back out of my mind". And start remembering again your religion, because your religion is your life. Your religion is your life. Your religion is your future. Your religion is your security.

This world is going down, but a community of people in this world, they are coming up. But the world is going down. This world can't offer you anything. Look our school shut up. We had to close down our school because of no cash money, no cash flow. Look at the condition of the Chicago Public Schools now. The thing that hit us has hit the whole country and now we have re-opened our schools, we were, our troubles were just a sign to the world that the world is in trouble. But when we separated from the world and got on the path of Allah and said the world go to hell we're going to follow Allah. Now Allah opened that world back up for us, but it is still closed against those that will not obey Allah.

Where is your future, your future is here. And it makes me very angry with you brothers and sisters when I see you disrespecting what Allah has blessed you with in this community. Don't let this world make you feel ashamed of what you are unless you're something that is other, than a Muslim. You should be angered when you see someone among your associates trying to make you feel ashamed of trying to be a Muslim. Oh, you do that, you really pray? You're really serious? You won't drink no liquor? You won't take a little wine? Yes, I'm serious! And I hate you for playing with my seriousness. You're going to wear those old long dresses? Yes! I'm going to wear them and my respect for you has been greatly reduced now that I know you don't want to wear them. This is the moral courage we need to survive in this world. This world needs moral courage. You have to have the moral courage to stand up and be proud of what you
are as a Muslim. And be willing to break friendship with anybody that disrespects your moral respect for righteousness and for Allah. Yes, be willing to break friendship at a second, an instant, because they want company to hell. They can't go there by themselves, they're too scared.

Look how simple the beliefs are and we ask of you as Muslims, we ask you to not be scientific minded when it comes to obeying Allah. You be scientific minded when it comes to dealing with the world of physical things, material things, those things, that are under science. Those things that need science. Allah needs no science. He created the world and out or the world comes the science. So, don't go to Allah with no science, a mind of a scientist to examine Allah or to question what Allah ask of you. Your mind, your intellect is not big enough to examine Allah. You're His creature. He made you. He created you. He made everything that is in you. You are limited. He's perfect. You know little. He knows everything. You're under law. He's independent. He depends upon nothing.

You will live and you will die. You will be healthy and you will be sick. You will be smart and you will grow ignorant. Allah never changes. You can not stand up against the test of this creation without Allah's help. No matter how much sense you get from institutions of learning. No matter how much spiritual discipline you get from practicing some kind of discipline, spiritual discipline. You can not stand up to the pressures of this world. Allah says think not that your creation is a bigger creation than the universe. No! The universe is a bigger thing than you. The only thing that make it possible for you to stand up to this, the forces of creation and prosper is your obedience to Allah. Allah will give you the help and the power to over come and to survive the test of this created world. You can't do it by yourself. You are fooling yourself. Oh, I can make it, my intelligence is going to help me to make it.

Allah tells us of people like that who think that they are successful because of certain knowledge, because of higher learning or higher knowledge that they have. We find that the man with the PhD, when the test comes he might be as weak as the man who has no sense at all. Yes, the man with the PhD can be toppled from the throne that he sits on by a pretty girl, by a drink of wine, by music. Look how many of the strong leaders of this country have been wiped out by disco music. They used to be dignified; they used to be stable; they were stable; they were sitting on a throne that was strong and stable and disco fever swept them into the trend and they went out to the disco. As one entertainer said on TV and got all their lights knocked out. Yes, so don't think that you are safe from anything unless you have Allah's protection.

We must believe in Allah, put our trust in Allah. Don't put your trust in yourself, put your trust in Allah. This world says only you matter. In the whole wide world only you matter. Believe in yourself. There is nothing in the Quran that says believe in yourself. It says believe in Allah, believe in His Books, believe in His Angels, believe in His promises, believe in the Day of Judgement, believe in His Messengers. It doesn't say believe in yourself. Because that belief isolates you from what you need in order to survive in this world. Once you believe in yourself then where is there a need to believe in Allah? Where is there a need to believe in His Messengers? You have separated yourself. You have made yourself an exclusive being that needs nothing outside of yourself. Oh, I'm everything. And that's what they tell you. You're the only thing that matters. Only you matter. And you have gone crazy believing that. No, not believing, you don't believe it. But if it's some narcotics - it gives you a good feeling and you need a good feeling, you see. No human being can believe that. God hasn't given you the brain to believe such foolishness.

You know something else matters besides you and you know you're not the most important person in the whole wide world. But that's what they tell you - you're the most important person in the whole wide world - you know better than that, you know good and well you're not the most important person in the whole wide world. Only you matter and your mama's taking care of you, if she stops taking care of you, you'll go crazy. Yes, telling a little child, telling a little boy or girl, only you matter, nothing matters but you. You're the most important person in the whole wide world. They come in the house crying, so and so took my bicycle. You're the most important person, go get back your bicycle. I'm hungry, why are you telling me I don't matter. Why you're telling me, I don't matter. Why you're telling me you're hungry, I don't matter. You're the only one that matters, only you matter.

You see how foolish what they are telling you is. Yes! But that's their sick, warped-mindedpsychologist are telling that, advising the media to carry that kind of stuff to the public. They say, Oh, the society has shifted from being God-conscious and Community-conscious to just following influences. So in order to get them back now they are not God-conscious anymore, we can't appeal to their respect for God. We can't appeal to their respect for society, for the future of society, all that's lost. So, the only thing we have left to appeal to is themselves. That's the only way we can get them back to any sensible life. Let's tell them only you matter. Go back and correct the wrong you've done. You've let the public lose respect for their Creator. Tell them only Allah matters. They don't have the courage to do what is right. In fact, they don't want you to get in touch with what will really save your life. They want your life always exposed so they can exploit, manipulate, take advantage of your weaknesses. They know if they take it to Allah, you'll be free from their exploitation. You'll be free from their abuses, and they are abusing you.

Look at what you got in your house today, the average one of you go back and look into your home and see don't you have too many clothes in your home. See don't you have too many material things in your home. More than what you need. Go check your home out, you have something to give to a poor neighbor. You have something to give the poor brothers and sisters who are in Jamaica. Or who are in some other country. You have something to give away and it's doing nothing but sitting there going to waste. You have shoes that you haven't worn out, but they've made them obsolete to sell you another pair of shoes, they're not in style no more. They put them out of style to make you give them some more money. Yes! So go check your home out and you'll see that you have a lot in your home that is unnecessary. You've got things in your home that you can't use, that you're not going to use, you have no intentions of using, but it's good enough for some other poor person to use. But that's your life.

Half of you have no where to live in your homes. Your home is so cluttered with stuff that you don't have a place to live in your home. Isn't that miserable that the human being has allowed his intelligence to be destroyed, no sense of what is right or wrong, no sense of order. Order is the world, dear people. Rendering a service is the world, dear people. Doing something to improve life is the world, dear people. You can't see what is the nature, what is the order of the world by looking at yourself or by looking at your friends. You may be out of the nature and out of the order of the world. God has given us something that is in the center of our universe, in the center of our solar system. In the center of our planetary order and that's the sun. There's nothing around us that gets or demands as much attention from us than the sun. Trees, birds, creatures, none of them are big enough to compete with the sun for our attention. When the sun rises it gets everybody's attention. When it sets it get everybody's attention. And look what it's doing, the sun is following a regular course. The sun is following a definite order.

The sun is not doing what it wants to do. The sun is not a discretionary body that does as it pleases. No, the sun is following a law. This is what Allah is telling us in the Quran. The sun is following a law. The sun has some sense of time, duty and time to do it on. The sun is not late coming up, you're late coming up. Sun is following in a pattern, following a definite order, following a time sequence and look what it's doing, it's not eating up the world. The sun is helping the world grow. The sun is growing the grass. The sun is growing the vegetation, the fruit that feed the animals. So, the sun is growing the vegetation. The sun is growing the animals. The sun is growing us because we eat vegetation, we eat animal. The sun is waking us up and the sun is letting us go to sleep. Say, Oh, I woke you up to work, you did a lot of work, you need to rest now. Sun go down so you can rest. That's the biggest and most observable piece of matter in our solar system. If you had nothing but that, if you didn't have a Quran to follow.

If you had nothing but that, God could judge you. You would be doomed to hell still. God will say, Oh, how did you let the physical world fool you to think that just eating, drinking, sleeping, sex, playing and having foolishness was all to life. Couldn't you see an example in the biggest and most physical thing I showed you. What keeps this thing going, what keeps life going, what keeps the production increasing is something that follows a law; something that follows an order; something that renders a service; something that is not eating everything up, but is giving something to the world. So what is wrong with you? Miserable creatures have allowed the wicked enemies of God to take over the world, take over your mind and lead you against your own self, against your well-being, against your own individual self-respect, self-worth and dignity. Made you disrespect yourself, made you abuse yourself, make you throw yourself to hell, when you know that you should hate the leadership of this world.

You should hate the calling voices of this world that call you away from devotion to Allah. That call you away from righteousness. You should hate them. You should make it your decision to be a warrior to fight them with every bit of energy you can muster up. You should never be out of a job anymore because you have a job. You have to fight for your life against the crazy influences that are in this world that call itself Americanism, Modernism, Civilization, Good Times. You should see that your friend is your Creator and your enemy is this world that will take you away from your Creator. Whoever will refuse to encourage you to obey Allah, to obey your Creator, to develop your moral life, to be righteousness, to be courageous with your moral strength. To be courageous with your righteousness, that person is your enemy if they will not encourage you to be that way.

That person is a worst enemy to you than the boy that will hit you up side your head or the girl that will say, no you are not my boyfriend anymore. After you gave her presents and treated her nice and loved her and showed her that you really cared for her and she see another boy and she walk away. Say what happened you're not my girlfriend anymore? Say, no, I like so and so and so. Why? Ahh, get away from me, leave me alone. No reason, cold, cold hearted little children. Yes, I'm talking about these little children. Some of these little children are cold hearted. Oh, they can treat each other so bad and then laugh at each other. Laugh at the person that they have treated bad. You know where you learn that from, this world. You're learning that coldness, you're learning that coldness from this world.

Be a Muslim, come back to Allah so you will have your life, you'll have your good sensible intelligent human life. And you will have a future. God has said that the earth shall be inherited by His devoted servants. I want you all to know, dear people that the time, is right here now when this world is going to be inherited by His devoted servants. In fact the time is always here, but it takes time for us to see the pattern that Allah is moving things upon. When we start seeing the evidence of it, then we say Oh, Allah intends to give this to the righteous. The signs weren't so visible a year ago, a hundred years ago, a thousand years ago, but they were there baby. The signs are always there that Allah intends the world to go to the righteous not the wicked. And it's only because of our ignorance that we allow the world to go to the wicked. We're deceived by the way the world looks.

We think, oh, the world, God has given it to the wicked. We have to wait until He gives it to us. God never gives the world to the wicked. You're deceived, you're fooled. If any one has the courage to fight for your rights to have the world as a righteous devoted servant of God, you will start the trend to change the thing. The world will start coming to the righteous, because that is always Allah's Will. Enough good strong servants now over the globe are showing the strength that earn Allah's support for them and Allah is supporting the righteous. The day of the wicked is going out, going out. Don't you think that wickedness is going to rule, wickedness is going to protect you, no indeed. Fifty years ago we would have to preach quite differently. I would have to say you might escape the judgement on this earth, but it will get you any way. But now I can say you will not escape the judgement on this earth, it's going to get you here and over there too. Oh, yes, because the clock is running out on earth for the wicked people, Running out. Have the courage to stand up for truth and righteousness. Nothing dignifies you more. Nothing raises you up in honor more than your obedience to Allah that brings moral purity and righteousness to you.

Dear beloved brothers and sisters, I want to read a verse from the Quran, chapter six. A Chapter called "The Cattle", Surah "Al Am'am", verse 125. "Faman Yure Dil-llahu an Yahde-Yahu Yasn-Rah Sad Rahu Iil-Islam. Wa man Yureed An Yudil-Lahu Yaj-ahl Sad Rahu Dhae-yecan Harajan Ka-an-nama Yas-Sa'Ahdu Fis-Samaa." Whoever Allah desires to guide, He opens his conscience, his breast" or his conscience for Ai Islam. And those whom He tends not to guide or wills not to guide, leaves them stray. He. makes their breasts or their conscience constricted, closed tight against guidance as if they had to climb up to the sky. "ka-thaa-leka Yaj Ahlul-llahur Rej-sa Ahlal Lathena La Yu'Menun." And in that way Allah brings the penalty on those who refuse to believe, who refuse faith.

Now let's make some comments on this verse in hopes that the English meaning will come fuller and clearer and better to you. Dear brothers and sisters, we get nothing without effort. You get nothing except what you earn. We have life because there is effort. If nothing moves, nothing exists. You can't get blessings from Allah without efforts. When you ask how come Allah doesn't show me the way. How come Allah doesn't help me. Then ask yourself how much am I doing for Allah. How much am I doing for Allah. Nothing comes without effort. How much am I doing to get understanding. How much am I doing to get guidance. Am I making an effort, am I really struggling, am I really striving to get guidance. Nothing comes without effort. Oh, I can't understand how God can exist forever, how He was never born and how He never dies. Are you really making effort to understand it or are you making effort to justify your not understanding it. Allah never punishes us with something we didn't desire. Whatever Allah punishes us with we desire it. So we have to question our intentions. You say you're trying to believe, you're trying to believe. I hear people, they've told me, I'm trying to believe brother Imam. Question your intentions.

Question your motives. Question your desires or your ambitions because they influence your intentions. You may say you're trying to believe, but if your main hope is to keep committing adultery, to keep committing fornication. If your main hope, if your desire is to keep breaking the laws of God, if that's the desire that is weighing heavily on your soul and your back, then your struggling, your striving to believe, is a lie. You're striving to find something that will deceive you. Something that will deceive you, something
that will blind you, something that will make you say no it's not true. Your effort is to make it a lie. And the easiest thing in the world to do is to fool yourself. That's the easiest thing to do, because you're stupid. You're not all wise. Human being is an ignorant creature. He's only intelligent when he's going after truth that's what make him wise, because he's seeking to know what is right, what is truthful, but if he give up that objective he becomes stupid. And I repeat, the easiest thing in the world to do is deceived yourself. So don't lie. Don't say I'm trying to believe.

Look into your own soul and tell the truth. I'm trying to find an escape. I'm trying to escape believing so I can continue on doing my wrong doing, my wrong thing. Yes, that's the kind of courage you need to save yourself. The courage to examine your own self. The courage to criticize your own thinking. Do you think your thinking is perfect? If your thinking is perfect how come you get in so much trouble? If your thinking is perfect how come you're not better off. Your thinking is not perfect. So, the first thing you should do is examine your own thinking. Examine your thinking and examine it as a truthful person. Put your thinking under the light of examination and examine your own thinking as a truthful person. If you do that Allah will open your conscience for truth. He will open your conscience for guidance.

The verses go on to reveal how people who are weak for wrong doing help each other, help to keep each other comfortable in their wickedness. The way they comfort each other is by trying to convince each other that what you're doing is not wrong. What you're doing is okay. So the weak people they look for people like themselves who are doing wrong. Because they want that person to help them drown out their conscience. They need help. As they say misery likes company.

So, they need help, you know. One person talking to them saying that it's okay, is not as effective as two voices coming into their minds saying it's okay. So they look for a second person to speak to their mind. Say, oh, there's nothing wrong with that. And if they can, they want a third person and they keep on, they need a whole lot of voices. If they can get a thousand people; oh, they're so happy, that makes it so wonderful. Big club, thousand members, all of them meeting together once every week or once every month, and they tell each other it's all right to do this. This is where it's at. This is where it's at, baby,, You know. So, they go on to get many, many voices to help drown out their conscience, but Allah says this is the way with Him. This is how He judge! This is how He brings the sinners to judgement.

In trying to keep out the force of their own nature, which says you're wrong, they go to find somebody like themselves to help with their voice? the addition of their voice to drown out their conscience. But in doing so the wicked are being gathered to themselves and the righteous are being gathered to themselves. Oh, Yes! Because you are taking yourself out of us, and you're going together with your friends. Company to hell! So, we separate and that is Allah's judgement. Now you've heard me, you children and you grown ups, and I challenge either all of you, or either one of you singly, each one of you as individuals to prove to me that you have the courage to go to hell by yourself. Not a one of you have the courage to go to hell by yourself! That's why you are always trying to spoil the character of the person around you. Because you are a weakling. You are a coward. You can't go to hell by yourself!

Now if you want to go to hell, you have my permission after I've told you the truth. You've got my permission, go on. Don't say I kept you back from hell. I invite you to come to what is right. After seeing what is right, if that is your intention to go to hell, you have my permission. AM of you, you little children, you got my permission to
go to hell. After hearing what I've told you and seeing what is right, if you still want to go to hell, you got my permission. You go on to hell. But you can't escape Allah. Don't forget that.

With the Name Allah, giving all praise and thanks to Allah and bear witnessing that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah alone. And nothing is like unto Him. We ask Allah's blessings upon the universal Prophet. The example to all human beings, Muhammad to whom the Quran was revealed, about 1400 years ago. We ask blessings be upon his descendants, upon his companions, upon the Muslims, the believers, the Muslims all over the world. We ask that Allah keep us firmly in this religion and increase our appetite for the guidance of Al Islam. That He makes us grow more and more anxious; to know more and more about our religion; to know more and more about the Quran; to know more and more about the life of Prophet Muhammad, so that we can grow healthy and strong, intelligent and progressive. So that we can have a share in the life that Allah has given us on this earth. So that we can have a share of the material blessings as well as the spiritual blessings of this world, that Allah has made available for all of us. So that we will become a strong people become a people with a destiny, people with a purpose, people with a destiny. And our destiny is to serve Allah in this Religion and to advance Islamic causes over those causes that are immoral and unjust.

Dear beloved people,! pray that Allah will sober up our minds in this world of drunken ideas. So that we will progress intelligently, conscientiously as moral beings in the path of Allah to earn for ourselves the great place in the world that Allah keeps open always to the righteous. The place of noble, honorable, respectable leadership. I'm disgusted with this world. This world can not offer me leadership. I come from a people called Blacks or Afro-Americans, who have never had any representative leadership in this world. I thank Allah that this world is really bankrupt. Because if it had everything to offer maybe I wouldn't keep struggling for what my soul needs. And that is a dignified place in the leadership of this world, the leadership of America and the leadership of the world.

Keep your eyes open. Keep Allah and what Allah wants in front of you. That is your goal. That is where you should be going. Remain courageous for righteousness sake, for Allah's sake. Don't be intimidated and made a coward. Don't think yourself too small to take the places of those people who are running the world. It's a shame that our people don't feel themselves capable of taking the places of the people who are running the world. Aren't they human beings just like you? They are making a mess of the world now. So you should have the courage to aspire for those high positions. We don't want to topple any government. We want government to have the right top. We should struggle to replace weak leadership. I don't care if it's in the City Hall, down State, in Springfield, or in Washington. It should be our objective to struggle and replace weak leadership. We shouldn't be buying the thinking of the Church. We are not Church; we are Mosque; we are Masjid. We shouldn't buy the thinking of the world. We are not the world. We are the life of the world. We are Al Islam. We shouldn't be followers in America. We should be leaders in America. I pray Allah bless you children to see and understand this.

I've observed some of you in the class, when I was teaching in the class and among them are a small number, and it's always the small number, the many are never the ones that do the job. But I have noticed a small number of those children who are going to be great leaders tomorrow. I've noticed among some of you grown ups, those that can measure up to the test and I pray Allah saves you from the desperate attempt of those forces, those people in this world who've given up. They know they are going to hell. They don't have a muscle to turn them away from hell, and they want your company.
