            A Parallel in Moses
            Chief Imam Wallace Deen Muhammad

With the Name Allah (In the Name of God), the Gracious, the Compassionate.
            As-Salaam-Alaikum
All praise is due to Almighty God, the guardian evolver and sustainer of all the worlds. The blessings and peace be upon Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah to us all.
O Allah, guide us, forgive us our faults, and grant us, the blessing of faith. I bear witness there is no deity except Allah and I bear witness Muhammad is His Servant and His Messenger. Peace be upon him, his descendants, his companions, the righteous servants, all of them, and upon us in America and throughout the world:
The Honorable Elijah Muhammad would say, "We are going to give you back your own — your own name, your own identity. You are no Negro. You are no colored man. You are the Asiatic Black man."
He would say, "You are the owner, the maker, the cream of the planet Earth, the father of civilization and the God of the Universe."
"Wow! Wow! Oh buddy! I knew that white man was hiding something from me," the brother would say. "I'm the owner, the maker, the cream of the planet Earth. I'm the father of civilization and the God of the Universe. Good God-A-Mighty! Thank Allah, thank God for the Honorable Elijah Muhammad."
We didn't care how big that lie was as long as it fed our hunger.
After hearing that powerful message from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, he~ went out of the Temple and back to the coal yard and shoveled coal for the Caucasian or went back and got his pushcart.
You don't remember that but I do. He pushed his pushcart, picking up his trash or selling his apples and his greens.
Who was pushing that cart? It was "the owner, the maker, the cream of the planet Earth, the father of civilization, the God of the Universe."
"White man you don't bother me no more," he'd say. "I got me a narcotic as strong as you."
              Wasn't that divine?
When people suffer extreme pain, Almighty God is so merciful that He either causes them to lose consciousness or to die. God will not make us suffer pain forever.
We know death is not the way of God for people. Life is the way of God for people. But isn't death sometimes a mercy? Now you, who have been resurrected for the second time, wasn't the first life that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad gave you a kind of death? Wasn't it a powerful drug that took away the pain of life and made it possible for you to exist?
Did it open the way to life? No! It only gave you a promise, like the graveyard, to relieve, take us away from the pains of life. It promised us a future life, but the graveyard does not give us future life. The graveyard gives us decaying rest, and only if God comes and puts life again in the essence, will there be life.
Yakub's history was a graveyard that gave us a promise. It was a narcotic that took away the pain of life. It made us feel that the devil was gone and he wouldn't bother us anymore.
But this is a resurrection indeed.
Dear beloved people, now we have a chance, Almighty God is on our side. Almighty God through His mercy has evolved us just as the Hebrews were evolved.
Moses told the Hebrews who were in bondage under Pharaoh, "Follow me and I will lead you to a land flowing with milk and honey."
When those people got away from Egypt, away from the material comforts and out in the desert, they began to grumble, "Moses, we don't know whether we made the right decision or not."
Some of them told Moses that slavery in Egypt was better than freedom in the wilderness with him. "In Egypt, we had plenty of food, we had garlic and onions and lentils. We had meat and soup and all of these things.
"Moses, you bring us over here and you call this freedom? You call this emancipation? In bondage we had a variety of foods. Pharaoh gave us material things. You are offering us nothing!"
Didn't we come through that same history? Look how many left the Honorable Elijah Muhammad because the walk in the wilderness was longer than they thought it would be.
You didn't have the light of God under the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. You had the darkness of its symbolism. Nevertheless, God's hand was on the community of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Let me show you this parallel and I hope you enjoy seeing the revelation as I do.
They grumbled because the trip was too long. They wanted to get the material things right away.
Master Fard Muhammad — Dr. Fard Muhammad or Professor Fard Muhammad as he was also called — left in 1934 and the people lost faith. By 1936, the majority of the followers left the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Just a few held on.
Many of them couldn't hold on for long because they were impatient. They wanted the material comforts right away. They began to leave and they were leaving yearly, both members outside of his own blood relatives and members from his own blood relatives.
His own mother left him. His own father left him. Some of his brothers left him. .In fact, the majority of his own flesh and blood brothers left him. His own flesh and blood sisters that followed or joined Professor Fard Muhammad also left him because they couldn't see things coming fast enough for them.
But a few stayed and right until today, there's a woman here who came in during the early '30s and saw Fard Muhammad herself, face to face. She shook his physical hand.
Sis. Clara Vanadah is from Detroit, Michigan. She knew Professor Fard Muhammad, also called Dr. Fard Muhammad, also called by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Allah in the person. She knew him as you know me. Sister Vanadah, who do you follow today? Tell these people.
            Allah-u-Akbar!
She says she follows me. I follow the Quran. I follow the word of God that Professor Fard Muhammad held above himself. I follow the Quran that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad held above himself. I know I'm on the right track, you are my strongest proof that I'm on the right path.
Allah is the perfect being. Allah is all righteous, truthful — no imperfections in Allah. Allah is Supreme and Perfect without any imperfections.
O Allah. Make us of those who purify themselves and of those who repent, and guide us in your path. Amen.
            Peace be to you
Your brother in service to Allah,
            Wallace Deen Muhammad |
