Muhammad Speaks

Upon This Rock

W.D. Muhammad

Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

And the rain descended, and the flood came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

And everyone that hears these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

Bible-King James translation St. Matthew, 7:24-27

The first pillar of Islam is a declaration of faith in One God. In the Bible we read that God is the first stone, or God is the rock. Stone and pillar have the same meaning in scripture.
Stones make stronger supports and foundations than sand or mud, so the ancient people used stones as symbols of the first trust that we as human beings should have: that is, trust in Almighty God.

In the language of Islam, we say that there is nothing worthy of worship nor is there anything worthy of giving our complete trust to other than the Creator, Whose proper name is "Allah."
Muslims all over the world are united in the belief of the oneness of Islam and the oneness of creation. We do not believe that there are two creations—one part created by an "evil god" and another part created by a "good god." Muslims know that the whole creation is one creation and that all of it belongs to one Creator, Allah.

"Allah" is a proper name that was used thousands of years before the advent of Prophet Muhammad Ibn Abdullah (may the peace of Allah be upon him). Allah is an Arabic word which has the same meaning as the name that was used by Moses, Jesus, and all the prophets for Almighty God.

Allah means not just any deity, but it means the One Deity who rules above and over all. He is the God who has everything under His Power and He is the God who is subject to nothing. The rule over creation is His alone. He is a God Who is independent and He does not share His kingdom with anyone or anything. There are no partners with God, nor does He consult with anyone in the rule of His creation. Any Believer who accepts to worship the Great God, Allah, has no one to fear but Allah

54. Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil o'er the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!

Holy Quran; Yusuf Ali translation, sura 7, verse 54

“There Is One Life”

From the belief in the oneness of God and in the oneness of creation, Muslims come to the belief in the oneness of life. Life is a manifestation out of the physical creation. Because the physical creation is one, the life that comes out of the physical creation must also be one life.
There is no foreign life in creation. If life is discovered on Mars, Pluto (Platoon) or any other planet, it will be a life that is one life with our life here on earth. It may be greatly different from earth life in its biological or physical needs, but it will be feeding the same physical creation that we feed on.

It will be a life that is more distant from us than the animals that we find on earth, but nevertheless it will be related to us. We are all related to one another in the many bodies that make up the vast creation of God.

Words Develop The Mind

The human mind manifests in life because it has a kind of intercourse with the physical creation. The intercourse between the physical creation and the mind brings about a growth and development of the mind.

Because man's mind is developed under the study of creation, the mind is filled with the elements and the bodies that exist in creation. These elements and bodies cannot be contained in the mind as physical objects because our minds are not physical entities in themselves. These things must be contained in our minds as words.
The Bible says that in the beginning there was the word. Word means "idea" or "concept." Man must have an idea or a concept before he can produce an image and a likeness of that concept in the physical world. Before there was the physical world, there was the word, the concept, the idea, the picture, or the knowledge of that object which was to be created.

Growth Of The Human Mind

The study of creation brings to you the idea, the image, the knowledge, and the picture of the inner-workings of creation. Then you will gain knowledge in the nature of creation, the functions of creation, the powers of creation, and the operations (within and without) of creation. The study of creation creates in you what is called the learned, the developing, or the broad mind. The growth of the human mind leads naturally towards understanding the oneness of God.

The Loss Of Nation Spirit

Oneness for the Nation of Islam has many meanings. Oneness has special meaning for us because the Black community, as a people, were separated from the earth by slavery. Slavery under evil, diabolical taskmasters in the Western Hemisphere took our minds from the earth and put them out in space. Slavery separated us from the development of mind. It would not permit the Black mind to develop naturally in growth towards Creator. No slave can be kept in bondage while his mind grows freely.

During the days of slavery, the Black community was separated from family order and traditions. Tradition is the body of knowledge that is passed down to you from your foreparents. It enables you to have some kind of security and some kind of protection in a society even though you don't have mastery over the law of the land.

Slavery separated our family spirit. When the family spirit was lost, the natural nation-spirit which is in all human beings was lost in us. There have been many movements that have tried to arrive at a kind of nationalism for the Black man and woman in America.

Islam Is The Natural Religion

The Nation of Islam is the only thing that satisfies the spirit for nationalism and nation building that is in us. We go to the root of the problem and we satisfy the hunger that has grown in us since the day that we were put in bondage.

Brother and sister, we invite you to get acquainted with your natural religion of Islam. Islam is the true religion of all people although they may call it by other names. Islam is the natural religion which is true to the human nature and to the human spirit of the human being.

When you learn the teachings of the Lost-Found Nation of Islam in the West (the Body-Christ), you will learn more about the proper growth and development of national consciousness. That growth will establish you naturally and firmly upon the unfailing foundation (rock) of the Religion of God, which is Islam.
